We stayed for one week, and honestly, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone considering it. I read the reviews before arriving and thought they might be exaggerated, but unfortunately they were not.

The staff service was poor, there was mold in the bathroom, and we were even given the wrong room at first. The food was so bad that I actually got sick and couldn’t eat for two days. Making restaurant reservations on your own is almost impossible because the front desk is not helpful at all.

Guests wake up as early as 4 a.m. to place towels and personal belongings on the pool chairs to reserve them, so good luck finding one later in the day. There is also only one pool bar with a single bartender.

We ended up eating out for almost every meal. For us, this was a one-time experience—never again.

We flew in one day late, asked the staff at check in about a refund for the 1 day we didn't stay there and they told us that Expedia will have to take care of it and that they aren't charging for the 1st. Fast forward to contacting Expedia, they informed us that the resort isn't willing to refund the 1 night. On top of this the rooms weren't very clean, toilet was leaking water, shower was leaking. The food was decent at best, service was horrible on the first 3 days, last 2 days for some reason improved a bit. Definitely wouldn't recommend and wouldn't go back. We ended up dining out of the resort the last 2 days.

My family and I recently stayed at your resort and overall had a positive experience. However, I would like to offer feedback regarding the restaurant reservation process. We noticed that while reservation slots were consistently listed as full, there were frequently many empty tables throughout the restaurants. Improving this system would greatly enhance the guest experience.

I also want to highlight a staff member who made our trip especially memorable. Enriqueta, who works at the deli and coffee shop, provided exceptional service. We looked forward to seeing her every day for our lattes and donuts.

Took this vacation with my mom and sister. We had a fabulous time. The Royal Solaris staff was so delightful, from the minute we walked in to the lobby. They were attentive to any needs at the pool, in the restaurants, our rooms etc. The food was good and offered a good variety. I woke up every morning to watch the sunrise and we had regular visits from the whales. It was a wonderful vacation!

Hotel needs major updating.
Food wasn’t good, bland and just not quality and the drinks were cheap alcohol and flat sodas.
Service was just ok. The few people who served us well were Jose Luis (Pizza guy), Estefania, the cafe girl whose name I failed to get but she was there the whole time during our stay. Honestly, this was not the place to stay for my family and I.

toilet leaked, smoke detector kept beeping our first night, toilet paper holder feel out of the wall.
Food in the Buffett was never hot and the coffee tasted and smelled like something I'd clean my bathroom with.
We couldn't get a reservation for any of the restaurants except after 9 pm and we had to small children with us.
We asked for 2 adjoining rooms and didn't get that.
Don't stay here. Too many problems

Stayed 13th 14th and 15th. Got there at 5 pm and they didn't have our reservation. Told us ot would take 2 - 6 hours to get the conformation. Got checked in at 7 pm . Pool was closed . Drinks are watered down. Felt like to get the full experience we would have to book directly with the hotel. ...next day cleaning staff. Cleaned the room but did not leave clean towels for us. And never replased the bottles of water. Message was great pool was awesome and the beach was beautiful with big waves not swimmable. Food was bland except the taco restaurant.

Would have initially rated our stay much higher, but as the days went on we became more and more disappointed. Biggest let down was the food. The buffet served the same thing every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner with very little variety between. One of the restaurants was closed and despite being guaranteed reservations depending on the length of your stay we were only able to get one. Food quality was about what you’d expect… overly salty and fatty and sometimes raw. Bar service was again what you’d expect, drinks mixed inconsistently and not fully blended, but with quick service. Our room was neither good nor bad but we did discover black mold at the end so not impressed there. Staff were all friendly and ground were clean and beautiful. If you can get a deal it’s not bad but if you are expecting a 4 star you’ll be disappointed

Food option was not good , served the same thing everyday. Impossible to get a spot by the pool because everyone puts their towel down the day before even when they are not at the pool. We did the all inclusive but things were still limited . If you’re not a member you don’t get all the perks . I’ve stayed at others all inclusive and this by far has been the worst. Not enough entertainment and they have roaches in the rooms and around the hotel. For the extra money we had to spend to get better quality food on the resort I would recommend booking and spending a little more going elsewhere. Trust me and the rest of the reviews .

Definitely not worth the price you pay.
Came here with a group of 9ppl and out of the 6 days, we can only get dinner reservations to the specialty restaurants on one day. So we had no choice but to settle for the repetitive Buffet and recycled same food.
The rooms we're outdated however the housekeeping staff did their best to keep it clean and we appreciated the refresh of the Room daily.
Bar fridges in the room were never restocked once for all days, not even the bottles of water.
The staff there definitely Hustle to provide the best service they can given with what they are working with.
You won't be able to get any food after 10:00 p.m. unless it is room service and they charge a mandatory fee of $15 as a surcharge.
The pool is always cold and a hot tub and the adults area was not very hot lukewarm at best.
And good luck getting upgraded to an ocean view room without a hefty upgrade fee.
This is definitely a family resort, so be prepared for that.
Its not the worst place on earth or anything like that, i just wouldn't come back

The staff were very accommodating and nice. The rooms were clean, but I found the beds firm. The walls of the resort are thin and lots of outside noise can be heard while you are trying to sleep. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and well kept. The buffet food was a real disappointment but I realized this before I booked from other reviews. The pizza place near the pool honestly makes some of the best pizza that I have ever had. The TV's in the lounge could be bigger. Overall for the price that I paid, it was worth it. Plus lots of really nice golf courses in the area and good restaurants across the street.

Everyone we dealt with regularly was awesome, awesome pool service and bar staff, buffet was pretty good, too.

No issues with the location or anything.

Little inconsistent when they had staff changes, almost like some of them had different rules?

Can only smoke on the beach or in the front of the hotel, they really need to set up a couple ashtrays on the beach side though. Would help with keeping that side cleaner.

Overall for going with a group and having small kids we all enjoyed it

We were a party of three and all of us got sick and suffered diarrhea for all the days at the hotel. Currently still under medication after a week after of our departure. I love traveling to MX but would warn and not recommend staying at this hotel.

Cons:
1. Impossible to reserve any restaurants as the booking in the app is always full. We were there for five nights and got none. Staff was unhelpful when asked either.
2. The only dining option left is the buffet which gets old after two meals. Mind blowing how repetitive they can be.
3. Never enough lounge chair by the pools and guests get nasty guarding/claiming theirs.
4. It’s supposed to be a family friendly resort. The party music shook the entire building from 7pm to 1am with crazy DJ yelling nonstop. The first time I called the front desk said it’s going to end around 10:30pm or 11pm. The second time I called the guy hang up on me and said they are wrapping up. What a treat.

Check-in was quick and the staff were genuinely very kind and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, we felt safe and well taken care of at the resort. The location was great, especially being right by the beach, which we really enjoyed.

Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. The options were repetitive and lacked flavor, so we often chose to leave the resort to eat elsewhere. On New Year’s Eve, there was no prior notice that the buffet would be closed. We were advised to order room service instead, which took about 45 minutes and included an unexpected delivery fee.

Our room also had an unpleasant sewage-like smell at times, and the walls were quite thin—you could easily hear people walking by and noise from neighboring rooms. The drinks were also below expectations.

While the staff and beachside location were definite highlights, the food quality, room issues, and noise level took away from the overall experience.

To start, the front desk was not helpful. The food is mediocre and it's supposed to be ALL INCLUSIVE yet they limit you to 3 restaurant visits during your stay and we stayed 7 days. The buffet was always out of food and there wasn't many options..it was typically the same food everyday. Btw I've never been to a resort that didn't serve bacon or sausage. Crazy! We stayed during Christmas so we expected more activities and entertainment during the evenings for families. On the other hand, the staff was great, drinks were decent, the coffee shop is a must, and the resort was clean. I will not be returning to this resort again!

I stayed at the RIU hotel for 6 days, and during that time I personally didn’t have trouble using the restaurants. However, this place has some serious issues.

Not all the specialty restaurants are open every day, and you can only make reservations through the app. I only stayed for 2 days, and reservations open 2 days in advance, so by the time I arrived, everything was already fully booked. What made it worse was that the restaurants looked half empty, but the staff still wouldn’t accept walk-ins and kept saying reservations were app only.

So in the end, I was stuck eating the buffet for both days and honestly, it wasn’t good. The food wasn’t tasty, the menu was very limited, and I actually went out a few times to buy food. What kind of all-inclusive hotel is this if food is the biggest problem?This definitely needs improvement.

On top of that, the shower didn’t drain properly, and the hair dryer smelled like it was burning.

To be honest, I wouldn’t come back here again. If my friends ask me about it, I’d probably tell them not to go.

That said, all the staff were super kind and friendly, and the location was great.
And here beach so pretty.

Be more family friendly with the activities and the services provided. Both jacuzzi’s were not available for my family as we have children and the weather was post-storm. The other jacuzzi was for a different type of members which we were not told about beforehand. The food is mediocre and is very bland. There is very few selections for those who do not eat pork. When we had first arrived, the beds were not cleaned as we had found a pair of fake eyelashes under the cover. Some of front desk staff were not courteous as they were very curt when assisting with fixing my room key. Our room keys stopped working once and then the door to the room did not want to open and when asked about it, we were told to maneuver the door handle until it opens. Overall, my family and I would not stay here or any other resort or property associated with this hotel.

The pool area was great, never really crowded. They had several pools in different areas of the property. Loved that we could walk right onto the beach. Was able to walk right into the waves and enjoy them. Our room was on the street side of the hotel and the lights at night were beautiful and could see up to the mountain range.

Cockroach issue: Found 10 cockroaches in my room over 7 nights, mostly dying on their backs, indicating poison use. Cockroaches also seen in stairwell and kids' play area, which is concerning when I have 2 toddlers around. Facility is a bit dated and run down, with discolored dingey bath towels and empty shower gel dispensers for days. Pizza was good but long lines and inconsistent enforcement of the \"1 pizza per person\" rule. Buffet food was average, but pasta station would run out of pasta and don’t have a soft serve machine. Snack bar was the worst option with long waits and poor quality food (inedible burgers, hot dogs, mushy fries, strange chicken nuggets, watered-down nacho cheese). Pancho’s tasted like buffet food, but without the variety. Asian restaurant: Best option for reservations, though menu varied and we had one good day and one bad day. Most pool chairs were reserved before 7:30am, often with no one using them for the entire day. Had to make dinner reservations through app, but 2 of the 3 times it wouldn’t allow me to. Had to visit a women in the lobby, but I kept missing her every time I went. App didn't have the schedule for the nightly show and front desk didn’t have paper schedule for the week

Positives:
Location: Convenient, close to large supermarkets, and felt very safe.
Kids' amenities: Kid's pool, playground, and kids club were well used and appreciated. Kid’s club staff were nice and organized daily crafts.
Bar service is good.

They gave is a room right by thr elevator. The cleaning staff congregated by elevator every morning laughing and chatting. They would slam doors every morning. The room had no amenities . Got no sleep. The food at restaurants were not good.

The room was a mess with lights and AC shutting off every few minutes and a thermostat that only worked after constant resets. Only one trash can in the bathroom, no microwave, and a TV with no channels. You can hear the next room’s TV. Room service costs extra and drinking water is not delivered. You must fill bottles at fountains.

Bars serve the cheapest alcohol. No food after 10 at night, no lobby snacks, and a 45 minute lunch line for pizza because one person runs the station. One small, half baked pizza per guest. The resort also treats non members like second class. Even hash browns at breakfast are members only. Special dinners and an exclusive beach restaurant also shut out regular guests.

The buffet is poor with limited choices. Vegetarians will go hungry and chicken options are negligible. No cups at soup or drink stations. Marco Polo food is cold and bland. The Italian restaurant even served paella with stale seafood.

The kids water park is far from the main pool and poorly maintained with so little water that kids cannot slide. No life jackets or floaties provided. Ice cream is a single cart that appears once at two in the afternoon with one flavor. Pool chairs are limited.

Few staff speak English which makes communication hard. Entertainment is minimal with no pool volleyball and dull activities. Only one evening event and even that lacked forks and spoons. The pool depth of 4.6 meters can be unsafe for non swimmers.

Avoid and spend your money elsewhere!
