The property isn’t maintained, the landscaping was drying and not trimmed of dead plans.
The outside dinning wasn’t open a few days leaving one inside dinning.
Friday the outside side dinning wasn’t open closed to the visitors due to a large group of people who came in on Friday and reserved the outside dinning. Not fair to the people.

Royal Decameron isn't any resort. They treat like you are visiting a friend. When you leave you are sad not because your vacation is over but because you are leaving friends. They are all so help and wonderful people. I have stayed twice and will be returning for a third visit.

During our stay we realized that it was not inclusive. It mainly catered to the spanish speaking people there from the food to the pool activities. My wife had numerous issues with getting proper bath and face towels. The daily buffet left us totally unsatisfied and we ended up going to other places to purchase food.

1000% DO NOT RECOMMEND. This resort could have potential if it put some money into it.

Our door to our room didn’t shut.

I had to argue for bottles of water

The buffet was terrible (Cuba has better food) - it was like slop in buckets.

We were not allowed in the pool before 10 am. (Actually got kicked out).

Your not allowed to use the umbrellas up in the adult pool (you will fry like an egg)

This property does not look like the pictures. It has the potential but as of now it is rundown. Needs to be updated.
Lunch and dinner at the buffet was cold and food did not look nor taste fresh.
Breakfast had better variety. And dishes were warm.
We were not able to eat at the restaurant because there was not possible to get a reservation. When asked, manager was not helpful. He did not make any effort to assist.
There was so much noise coming from the resort adjacent to the property. Very difficult to have a nap in the room.

A nice budget all inclusive. It is not luxury, by any means, but the food was pretty good and the staff worked hard. If you are used to many choices for restaurants or lots of choice for drinks, this resort is not for you. Not all bars are open all the time. Most of the day there are is only one bar open and sometimes may not have what you want. Choice for beer and wine is limited. The facility itself is older and can use some work, but they worked hard to keep it clean. Overall, it was a nice stay due to the hard work of the staff.

The room was satisfactory the cleaning was subpar but they did sweep our floors whenever we allowed. The staff were kind but the service could use a little work we had trouble with our room in the beginning with our sliding door and a lizard being in our room and were just told goodluck! The drinks were okay as well as the food we ate off the resort more due to this. I definitely would not stay again but for the price we paid for our spring break trip it sufficed. If you are looking to drink definitely look somewhere else this place is definitely for an older crowd and families.

Property exceeded our expectations as we arrived with a newly renovated reception area. Truly gorgeous. The rest of the resort is slightly outdated as well as the rooms. Clean simple rooms that they clean everyday. Oceanfront location and you can hear the waves. Two pool bars. Only one restaurant and one snack place.

This is a nice place if you want to drink alot without it being \"tracked\" like some of the swankier resorts. The food was pretty good, drinks were ok but never-ending. It is aging a bit, tiles were falling off of the pools but it appeared they were trying to fix things as they happened. Rooms were pretty nice and clean. Staff was nice but several times especially while dining we asked for drinks that never came. They have \"activities\" all day which is great if your into that, if not it was just loud. We were right outside the evening entertainment spot, again, if you aren't into what they were doing it was loud and not super relaxing. Overall it is a good place for the price of an all inclusive.

This place was so much fun! The only thing that was really hard was the luggage situation. They do not have elevators, there are a lot of stairs. They help you get the luggage to your room but had a terrible time getting someone to help me the day we checked out! We had 2 large luggages and as I was asking from my room I asked to different employees if they could help me and both said no I need to go to the front desk (up a bunch of stairs) as they were just standing there talking! A minor inconvenience for a beautiful beach and comfortable rooms.

From check in to check out and all the in between everything was outstanding! We were so impressed by the wonderful food variety with something for everyone. It was especially amazing dining at the Luna restaurant where the food was not only delicious but a piece of art in the presentation! The waiters Alias, Francisco, and Peria the maid all did a great job. We were especially amazed at the wonderful night shows from various cultures with outstanding dancers, costumes and music. The talent was top notch! Our room was clean and comfortable, I usually don’t get a good sleep on motel beds but this bed was so comfy I wanted to take
it home with me!! We also really enjoyed the warm pool and the smaller less crowded atmosphere of this all inclusive resort compared to the other ones nearby that were larger, crowded and so noisy! The sounds of the birds…finches, wrens and doves as you dine outside was such a soothing and wonderful treat! All around I recommend this all inclusive over others I have stayed at in Cabo! And be sure to support the non pushy but wonderful beach venders especially the brothers Jesus and Jorge. Please let your staff know what a great experience they blessed us with in our stay!!

The rooms were clean, the resort overall was clean, however the food was lacking. Not alot of options and almost daily at breakfast they were low on food and slow to replace. No bar in lobby until 5 or 6. Dirty rooms. Housekeeping never came or restocked coffee even after multiple requests. Food was bad at all meals. Egg station was only good breakfast. Pancakes and French toast were dry. Fruit was usually gone by 9am. Anything in the serving dishes felt like leftovers from previous nights dinner. No alcohol served in the buffet, no pool side food. No drinks in mini fridge. Tv that had no options. VERY uncomfortable bed. Ive never slept worse. I tossed and turned every night to the point of having to sleep on sofa. No extra blankets, loud noise from staff and construction in the mornings. No room service that I was aware of. Had to by beer across the street at Oxxo for the room. Luna restaurant food menu was boring and the ribeye is not a ribeye. Adult pool is full of human particulate. Its disgusting. Pool bar staff was nice but not many options. Low proof alcohol but witnessed a few people get overly intoxicated. Not sure from dirty beer taps or bacteria in the mixers from sitting out most of the day or from recreational drugs. Paula (paola?) Was fantastic. Great for activities and karaoke which they canceled the 2nd night of with no explanation. Lobby was uncomfortable and empty. The \"club\" seemed like it was for swingers. Also if you have mobility issues, dont book here. The elevator sometimes works and there are still stairs you'd have to climb.

My primary complaint is that I booked this resort under the impression that it was an Adult Only resort. While it USED to be an adult only, it was purchased by the current owner and not all ADULT ONLY advertising has been updated to to show that it is now, very much so, a family resort. The resort was kept clean and comfortable. The alcohol was limited and very weak. I drank way more than normal because it was so weak. My wife and I prefer quality over quantity. Along with expecting an adult only resort was a more lively night life. Everything here begins shutting down at 8pm. The outside facilities are closed early.

I really enjoyed my stay at Decameron the location is excellent. The Hotel is a older resort that is showing some age, but the staff is what makes this Hotel so great! They were all so friendly, helpful and worked so hard at keeping the property safe and clean. The drinks were excellent with very experienced bar tenders that can make you anything you desire. My room was cleaned everday with 5 star service, thank you house cleaning staff!

While not a 5 star resort per se it was a 5 star experience for us. We prefer smaller places and usually don't go all inclusive as we enjoy eating local but the price point made it the best of both worlds. Food was good with many options and variety. The resort is older but well maintained and clean. The staff friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the entertainment, a young lady who sang (different sets) 2 nights was charming and very good. While no swimming on this beach it was great for walking (estuary at one end) and enjoying the waves, birds and sunrises. The 3 pools were plenty for swimming. We really enjoyed San Jose Del Cabo and Decameron was well located for all of our adventures.

From the get go it was an unpleasant experience. The resort tried to charge me $500 USD more than my booking price. Rooms were dark and dingy. Super loud and noisy when staff pushed carts and bins by early in the morning and late at night. The resort needs major work and upgrades. Trip hazards everywhere. You can only book two dinner reservations at their one exclusive restaurant even though the resort was not at full capacity. Buffet was hit or miss. We went out into town for meals three out of our seven days. Staff was also hit or miss. Some were super friendly and helpful. Others were tired and grumpy. No late check-out allowed. We sat in the lobby waiting for our ride to the airport for over an hour. They offered drinks to guests arriving but if you are leaving, don't expect a final drink or any hospitality. That's a shame because that's the last chance to leave an impression on the guest's experience.

The stay at this hotel was decent. The staff did their job, but only one employee made a difference and created the vibe. Enrique Rodriguez (DJ) was not only friendly, but remembered you and was very welcoming. A smile and the only employee that looked like he enjoyed his job. He definitely brought the vibe to the place. Pool area can use upgrades, tiles are old, the adult pool can use some TLC. If your looking for lively music, take your personal speaker. I do have to say overall, the facilities are decent, but there are small areas that can use upgrades that would make a great difference. The food is standard, nothing was memorable and it was very limited. There is a super market directly across the street that offers everything from cooked food to baked goods, alcohol, so if you prefer shopping and having your own items it is very convenient. As I have previously experienced with all inclusive resorts, this resort did not have pool or beachside service. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks each time. And there is not a variety of food throughout the day. The beach was nice, but the lounge chairs are there for use, it's not an area that receives service. Also, there was a bad odor, like sitting water coming from under the patio floor that can be smelled from going into the beach are to the adult pool, so the smell is not pleasant. I would hope that the hotel can make some repairs and upgrades. It's a great location and peaceful.

Restaurant by the pool got us seated at 4:30pm and took our order. At 4:58pm the restaurant supervisor said we close at 5pm and can’t take your order. I requested why? With an attitude he mentioned pizza takes more than 10mins to cook! The whole conversation from the supervisor was an attitude. About 5 tables had the same issue. The food at the restaurant is terrible. We had to go elsewhere for dinner and lunch. The location is right on the beach. Was easier for my son to play on the sand.

The pool wasn't super busy (you could get a lounger and there weren't too many of those lounge lizards reserving them at 7am). Some staff went above and beyond to make the stay memorable - Cruz, one of the servers at the snack bar during the day and the adult only pool bartender were ones who stood out!

The food was OK. A bit limited in selection (especially protein) - breakfast was probably the most stand out meal. The service in the buffet was a bit slow - it seemed like there was only one server so it took a while to get coffee or juice.

Even though it was a family resort, it didn't feel like it was too chaotic with kids which was really great (as a child-free group traveling who wanted to relax!)

The rooms, common areas, restaurants, grounds and pool area are all showing their age, however everything was very clean. Staff was courteous but not overly friendly, except for Elias our waiter in the A La Carte restaurant on two evenings. The buffet food was just ok, it’s regular buffet food but nothing special. We had a relaxing week but I wouldn’t return. There are far nicer properties for around the same amount.

We had a great time at the Decameron! The staff were the best aspect of the trip. All very kind, with fast and friendly service! Rooms and pools were clean, food and drinks were readily avaliable all day and night in one or more areas. The food was very good, but nothing was particularly amazing. But we were very happy with everything, especially considering the price!

Also, we read a few negative reviews on Decameron before booking about language barriers with the staff. This was not our experience at all. I speak a little Spanish and my wife speaks very little (just a few words and phrases), but we found the staff very patient and helpful when we wanted to learn and practice. Also, they all spoke English to some degree and many of the staff spoke 4 or 5 different languages. Anyone who didn't appreciate the staff at this resort was at the wrong resort!

Having to go up and down the stairs was a pain !! Not having a elevator available especially for those with disabilities is terrible. Other than that I give it 3 stars
