This hotel was an older, but elegant, well kept hotel. The service was excellent from checking in to breakfast to housekeeping. The hotel seemed a little out of the way, but a free city bus to the outlets was close by. There was a beautiful garden onsite and both the Western breakfast and Japanese breakfast were delicious. The rooms were well apportioned and very large.

The staff were not helpful, and when asked for Sushi recommendations and sent us 20 minutes away to a low to medium quality place, whereas there were ample other restaurants nearby nearby. When asked to arrange a taxi for us, they stated that no taxis were available. They would not give us extra keys for the room, which is strange.

Was wonderfully surprised from my recent stay at Mars Garden Wood Gotemba. It surpassed my expectations! I had booked it for its large room size and close proximity to Gotemba Premium Outlets. However, I was surprised by how nice the property was! I think it was recently facelifted which gave the place a clean and contemporary feel while retaining some traditional Japanese charm. We could see Mt Fuji from our room and the hotel has a dedicated viewing area on level 12. The grounds of the hotel were spectacular with a large pond and garden which felt so peaceful to take a stroll. Breakfast every morning was lavish and dinner at the teppanyaki restaurant was special with a night time fountain spectacle right beside. Thanks Mars Garden Wood for the wonderful stay!

First time in Kobe. Nice hotel in the harbor. I stayed in a corner suite on the 9th floor. Had a great view of the harbor. Was nice to sit out on the deck at night and have a drink. The second morning staying a cruise ship pulled up right beside the hotel. It was so quiet you wouldn't even know they were coming in. Sitting on the 9th floor.I was the same height at the top of the ship. Was fun sipping morning coffee in my robe watching them come into port

Beautiful, but everything was closed

Beautifully appointed place, with large and very clean rooms, great views of Mt Fuji, and beautiful grounds. It was a bit pricey, but we were celebrating a birthday. What was a bit surprising was that all the restaurants but one were closed when we were there. Not even the cafe was open, despite the fact that it looked like they were suppose to be. A bit disappointing as this is not what we were expecting and weren’t told when checking in either. Furthermore, there are no benches to sit on and take in the beautiful grounds.

Relatively, these are small issues - the service was great and the hotel itself very nice.

The facilities and room amenities are quite good, with a router in the room to ensure a stable internet connection. The service is as courteous as always. The restaurant in the hotel is priced at 10,000 yen. Unfortunately, there isn't a bar where you can have a drink. If you want to enjoy some drinks and yakitori, you need to walk about ten minutes to Gotemba Station, or you can ask the hotel front desk to call a taxi for you. There is a bus stop just five minutes away downstairs, where you can catch a long-distance bus to Tokyo, a free bus to Onsen, and various city buses. The Imperial Palace Park and the temple are not far from here.

Spacious room because its a real dated hotel. Check in in the evening and the staff on shift were wonderful and friendly. But checking out in the morning 2 nights later, oh the staff were not friendly at all.

Spent 2 nights on the Fuji view room with private hot spring, the room is spacious for 2 even for 4, the king size beds are excellent, pillows and blanket are top class, you can see the fuji mountain lying on bed if the weather allows, but unfortunately, 1 small building has blocked some part of it (very small portion), but u can go to the top floor shared area to take pictures with better angle ~

The private hot spring is nice with view of fuji mountain, but it takes time to accumulate hot water, its refreshing ~

the only compliant is that if you are not taking a taxi to the hotel, you will need to spend sometime finding the road or the entrance of the hotel ~

you may find convienient store around and a bus stop nearby which u can take free bus to outlet or a ride to other major area ~

Family of 4 found the rooms to be spacious, clean and could use an update. The location is 6 min walking distance to grocery store but the area has limited restaurants. The breakfast at the restaurant was a nice treat, the food was good. Staff and service are professional, helpful and speak English. We were looking forward to using the foot bath but unfortunately it was under maintenance. We frequented the public baths and enjoyed the spa amenities.

Phenomenal customer service! I travel a lot and this was honestly one of the most attentive and welcoming customer service experiences I’ve ever had.

We booked a last minute stay with NO baggage or anything and I guess staff noticed it enough to bring phone chargers to our room, without our asking! We may have mentioned it in front of them without realizing but they picked up on it and even brought the correct chargers for our phones.

Everyone in the hotel was friendly, professional, and kind. I am 100% returning for another visit.

Gorgeous views on the high floors

A beautiful place with stunning views of Mt Fuji - the service was outstanding and the included Japanese breakfast was great. The place is a little old, but that doesn't really matter since it's still 5 star quality and cleanliness. The area however is a little isolated and hard to find - definitely book their free shuttle services from the train station and or the outlets!

A wonderful hotel/resort, with many amenities. A short 10 minute walk from Gotemba station, this was the most relaxing and comfortable place to stay after a long hike up the Gotemba trail of Mt. Fuji.

We booked the mountain view room with half open air hot spring bath. The view is absolutely amazing and the rooms are huge. The hotel also offers a free hotel car if you book it so we used this service to go to the outlets. The driver was on time and so pleasant. When it was time to be picked up, he was early and was already waiting for us. By the time we got back to the hotel, the staff had already taken our luggage out of storage and had it all ready in the lobby for us so we didn't have to wait. Amazing experience and well worth the money

Love this hotel! The staff was extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in late after climbing Mt. Fuji. The room was massive, especially by Japanese standards. There was a giant tub in the room, plus an outstanding onsen and spa. Breakfast was tasty and the grounds were well kept and nice to walk around in. Would love to stay here again.

Unforgettable Stay in Gotemba

My wife and myself were greeted warmly by the staff upon arrival. As we were too early for checking in (check in time @ 3pm), we were chauffered by the hotel car (booking required and operated from. 10am to 6pm) to the Gotemba Premium Outlet.

Upon check-in in the evening, we were guided by the courteous staff who brought us to the room. The room was spacious, well equipped and very clean. The beds were sufficiently comfortable for a good night sleep.

The breakfast served at the restaurant (included in our stay) was very well presented and tasty. We had tried both Japanese and western breakfast.

We were happy with the stay and would recommend even family with children to stay here.

High End Hotel with Mt FUJI View

I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone residing in the Gotemba suburb near Mt Fuji. The staff were kind, helpful and would go above and beyond to ensure they deliver a service to remember. The hotel has a few restaurants on site, natural hot springs, a sauna and a new look layout in the lobby. Our room was in direct view of Mt Fuji, which offered stunning and unforgettable views of Mt Fujis magnificence.

There are 2 negatives I can think of is the isolation of the hotel from Gotemba city centre and the station. It's approximately a 2 km walk but if you hire a car I'd recommend staying here as its central to Hakone and The 5 lakes. Also, for the price you pay the hotel room looks are a little outdated.

Great place for relaxing with families. Breakfast is good too. Stayed two days. On the second day, 3 out of 4 rooms is not being clean. Reasoning from the receptionist was the \"please dont disturb\" button is on. I have checked and is not on at all. Quite disappointed for that. Despite of that, everything is clean and comfortable to stay.

Luxury in the shadow of Mt Fuji

We had a great time at this hotel.

The staff was attentive and courteous. We were always met with a smile and everybody went out of their way to help us.

The room was spacious and clean. We had a room on the 6th floor with a view of Fuji. Even better views were available in the 12th floor sky lounge.

The Japanese restaurant was fantastic. Breakfast was included. Every detail was perfect. We ate at both the Italian restaurant, Fenice, and the Japanese restaurant, Ginmeisui. Although very expensive, the food and drink were amazing and the staff was courteous and professional.

The onsen was good. All the amenities you would expect. Fuji was blocked by trees from the men's Lottenboro, but you could see it from the large indoor bath.

The hotel was clean, spacious and well kept, The grounds were large enough to stroll around and relax.

A great visit - we are glad we stayed.
