Very convenient location walkable to all attractions. Excellent breakfast! Friendly and helpful staff. Recommended us a local Portuguesas restaurant for dinner; it was so good that we ended up going twice! The hotel is very clean and room is spacious. Hallway smells so good!

The hotel in general is nice, the staff were accommodating, the breakfast room and what it provides was good, the room was spacious and the bed was good. The only thing we found that the hand basin in the bathroom was tiny every time you wash your face your head hits the wall. The other thing could improve on what is provided in the room, there was a Kettle and two sachets of tea, my wife prefers coffee with milk neither were in the room also everywhere that we stayed on our travel they supply fresh bottle of water every day that was not the case at Hôtel Crystal. But over all was good.

Lovely hotel with blue and white theme throughout. Spotless, with friendly staff and good breakfast selection. We booked this hotel in particular for it's garden and enjoyed an hour or so most days sitting in the sun with a drink. Although the hotel isn't in the city centre it's walkable and the nearest metro is a 10 minute walk away. Very good service throughout, will definitely return if/when we come back to Porto!

Had a wonderful Christmas time and the festive meals exceeded my expectations by far. Comfortable double bed (upgraded from single), lovely decor throughout the hotel topped up with beautiful Christmas decorations. Very clean. Good location, liked being a bit away from busy tourist area, had a feeling of real Porto atmosphere. Highly recommended and would love to return. Big obrigado to the team.

Great value for the price. You could easily spend much more and get less in another hotel. Very clean, well maintained, and up to date. Quiet and comfortable room and a generally quiet hotel, even when full, in a quiet neighborhood and street. Excellent breakfast. Very helpful staff. Will stay there again if I revisit Porto.

The distance from the centre was very misleading - much more than 15mins The breakfast was disappointing. I left my phone charger but the hotel will not return it I have to arrange collection of it - disappointing response.

No complimentary water in the room unless you check with reception and have to specify that you are not buying water but requesting a promised complimentary water that you didn’t receive on the first night of your stay, otherwise, they will charge you naturally assuming you are trying to buy some water since you didn’t mention it at check-in because you should have received the water one way or another. They refused to admit that it was their mistake not to put a complimentary water in the room and claimed it was the guest who is misleading them. The first staff who checked me in said it should be on the table in my room. The second guy who assumed I wanted to buy a bottle of water said I should receive the complimentary one at check-in. Really funny. It feels like they are suspecting if I really didn’t receive the free water and they act like I’m trying to scam one small bottle of water from them. And it is 4-star hotel. And the room I booked was for two-people use since singles were sold out. And I can get only one small bottle of water only on the first night of my stay only by asking for it. Not even a second bottle or a large size. And they don’t even provide slippers for guests who do not have reservation for a suite. So I guess the eco-friendly is exclusively for guests who can’t pay for a suite.

Amazing hotel, in a quiet part in the central area. You can walk to major landmarks in 10-15mins, lovely staff - because of COVID the breakfast arrangements where different but I had mine brought to my room and the suite was just magical with 2 baths and a balcony. Very clean hotel.

Hotels/Rooms are older than look in photos (Also hey are better off without those fake flowers in lobby and restaurants!) Comes with nice complimentary breakfast buffet though. The major reason I do not repeat or recommend this hotel is its location--far from main tourists area. Yes, you can take metro but still10 minutes walk (with hill!) from the station, and not dangerous but the neighborhood seems a bit sketchy to me.

Very clean. Wide variety of breakfast items. Within 1 mile of city centre. Only criticism was no iron or ironing board available. They have a laundry service which wasn’t available by the time I arrived on my first day. The amount of things I needed ironing would have cost me a fortune.

A fair price

Needed to overnight in Porto while accompanying son on a business trip. The hotel was fairly priced and the room was comfortable enough. The included breakfast was outstanding. The free internet worked well and the reception desk was competent and helpful. Would stay again for the same purpose. Do not expect a warm, cosy room. Furnishings are rather utilitarian and on the spartan side.

a nice hotel, the bar area is gorgeous. I also enjoyed the garden, it was very pretty.
Staff were always friendly and helpful. They held our bags for us after checkout since our flight was in the evening.
Room was a good size and they left some little cakes waiting for us when we arrived.
The only issues we had were with the wifi, the signal in our room was so poor (we were on the 2nd floor) it was a struggle to use it most of the time. Also the cost to park a car in their car park was actually more than the price of hiring it, it was 10euro a day/night. A bit steep I have to say.
But we were walking distance to the centre and all it's attractions, plus some really good local bakeries nearby.
Breakfast was always nice too, they even had soy milk which was great for me.
Overall it was a pleasant stay, we had no major issues and enjoyed our trip :) we'd be happy to stay here again.

Highly recommended Cristal Porto Hotel

This has to be one of the best hotels I have stayed at. I could not fault anything. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble for them. The room was exceptional, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and served from 7.30 - 10am. Room service was available at a very reasonable cost. The addition of a bar in the evenings was great and drinks and snacks were very cheap. The decor is really nice and I would highly recommended this hotel to anyone.

I didn't have A/C in my room. The internet didn't work when I was hoping to make international calls on wifi (so I had to pay international rates) The gym was closed for half my stay. Individually, I could have lived with any of these things, but together they made my stay unpleasant. The staff promised to follow up with the manager and offer something but never did. I wrote an email giving them one more chance to explain and no one has responded. If you're looking for a vacation where you can relax and rely on good service...look somewhere else.

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff and great breakfast!

On my recent stay in Porto, I stayed at this lovely hotel and was really impressed. My partner and I were celebrating an anniversary and went for the Suite, and we were greeted by a lovely fruit juice and fruit platter when we checked into our room. The room itself was very well kept, with a wonderful balcony to enjoy the morning view. We were also given a voucher for welcome drinks at the hotel bar, which we enjoyed in the lovely outdoor seating area in the garden. The staff were really friendly and super helpful, each of them fluent in multiple languages to make all guests feel at ease. The hotel location is a bit farther out of the city center, but it's very easy to get around in Porto either by foot or by uber, so I think it's definitely worth the extra trip.

When booked hotel advertised airport transfer could be arranged. Exchanged messages with hotel 4 weeks beforehand and agreed that we required transport to and from airport and prices quoted which we agreed. Checked arrangements for transfer 2 days prior to arrival to be told that they no longer provided this service - we could have been waiting at the airport for a car to arrive that never would had we not checked. Had to make last minute alternate plans. Would have been professional if the hotel had contacted us to advise of this change.
When speaking to receptionist about this were met with a non apologetic response.
Also disappointed english teabags provided in room but no milk even though a fridge is provided in the room. Getting some from the bar proved to be a little difficult
For a deluxe room would have expected toiletries and bottle water to be replenished daily
Two rooms booked but not identical in items provided
Hotel users should be aware it is a good 30 minute walk into old Porto but does provide a quiet location
Inclusive breakfast very good with extensive choice

Very enjoyable.
Easy location to city centre. Metro back to airport 5 minutes.
Suggested trips
Yellow Bus hop on hop off especially the ocean trip.
Also use the tram to take you to the beach area... Very nice promenade and beach area plus many nice cafe and restaurants.
If you use the metro save your ticket. This is like a London oster card. Initial cost €0.50. Just top up card with credit.
Airport metro to Laps station €2.00
Back to the hotel.
Staff brilliant
Breakfast good variety.

If you like football... FC PORTO STADIUM TOUR very good... only €5 taxi drive from hotel.

Last thing ... turn right out of hotel... light snack bar on your left first corner.. into city down hill from cafe🍷

Breakfast nice choice - upgraded room recommended for bath next to massive bed!
Received welcome voucher for two glasses of port.
Complimentary mini-bar (1 beer, 1 fruit drink, 1 water, 1 kit-kat).
Bar has nice choice of cocktails.
Only found out there that guests can use nearby gym and swimming pool.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was a bit of a walk from the centre of Porto but within easy reach of metro stations. The hotel was beautiful, huge rooms, really comfortable beds, lovely bathroom, great shower and sparkling clean. The area surrounding the hotel was very quiet and the rooms had great black out curtains. Free bottle of water in the room was a nice touch. Breakfast was varied with something for everyone. The small garden at the back was a good place for relaxation. The staff were very pleasant and efficient and standards were high. Only a couple of small points, could do with a few more hangers in the wardrobe and a waste basket in the bedroom. We certainly would stay there again. Top notch and recommended.

Great boutique small hotel away from centro noise!

What a find this hotel was for me, thanks to accurate online reviews by other guests. I stayed here one week and everything about my stay was excellent. It's only 3 metro stops from Porto's center or a quick bus ride there just outside the front door of the hotel. Metro walk back to the hotel is a slight hill, but nothing unmanageable. The hotel has only been open for 1 year, so I hope they are able to maintain their great room rates, staff, and awesome breakfast--that future guests will respect the premises and not mess up the clean walls, furnishings, etc. I totally recommend staying here, and would do so again in a heartbeat!!! Thank you Hotel Cristal!

Perfectly fine hotel - lots of Porto Blue everywhere in the decor. The room was fine and comfortable. It was odd that they had an outdoor garden we were encouraged to utilize but it wasn't open in the morning. The hotel is probably a 20-30min walk to downtown/center. A nice walk but a bit remote.

A hidden gem

I'm so glad I chose this hotel to stay in Porto!
The staff are simply amazing: so helpful, nice, welcoming and patient. No query or request was too much of a problem (not that I asked them for impossible things!). They speak at least 2 languages, and their English is very good (I personally wish I spoke more Portuguese).
The hotel is - to me - in a perfect location. Admittedly, it is a little bit of a walk from the centre, but it is very much manageable, unless you do not like walking, or have a medical condition that prevents you from it, naturally. It would take me about 15mins to get to the centre; the only downside is that while you're returning to the hotel, you need to go a little up the hill. But it wasn't a problem for me. The Hotel is also easily found once you're off the Metro (Faria Guimaraes): turn right when you come out of the station, walk up the street (R. Faria Guimaraes), and turn left into the first crossing street - the hotel has got a big HOTEL sign sticking off its wall, and is at the end of this street; you cant miss it.
The room is the perfect size for one person, and was clean; same for the bathroom. I was a bit worried the amount of blue would be overwhelming, but it wasn't. The room was also quiet. The only odd thing was the A/C - I thought I had it off all the time, but I could still hear the humming; however, this wasn't a problem. The breakfasts were very nice too-loved the Soya milk as a standard, and all the healthy options

Beautiful a bit off the beaten path

Beautiful hotel. Decent free breakfast. Very calm despite its 'party' look. The gorgeous lounge was almost never occupied. The staff very helpful. Room was spacious and clean. The only issue was the air conditioner, even on high, barely pumped out any breeze. We asked for help, they said 'the man' will look at it the next day. The next day was no better. Other than this small problem I would recommend this hotel. It isn't really near anything, but a pleasant downhill walk through the old town was just 20 minutes and a 6-7€ ride back.

Very Nice city hotel

This hotel is very nice for a city hotel and the price per night. Rooms were very clean and spacious.
We got a free upgrade so had a bath in our room (next to the bed!!) but the standard rooms did not have a bath. Bar staff and restaurant staff were extremely nice, helpful and cheerful.
Food in the evening was also lovely and for 15 euros you could each as much as you wanted.
Close to a metro link for the airport.
Good night life which doesn't get started until gone midnight down near the tower area.
Restaurants are a bit like cafes. Good one we went to called Beef and Wine on the front - well worth a visit. Need to book each night as struggled to get into one on the Sunday evening. Very busy city. Very cheap to eat out there.

Long way out of town. Rooms directly overlooked.

Our window was about 12 feet from a building site, and will be 12 feet from another building's window when completed. The hotel is hemmed in all round. It is beautiful inside, but an important detail like privacy should have been primary in the design, with stylish net curtains being more important than other design effects. We had to have the heavy velvet curtains closed to get privacy, which of course made the room hot.

This is a new hotel, that is, it just opened this summer under this name and has been completely renovated and refurbished, I believe from another one formerly at this location. (We were even able to buy some leftover tiles from the renovation at nominal prices!)

The lobby and downstairs area are beautifully decorated in blue velvet and crystal. The hardworking staff will try to resolve issues graciously and fast - there were just some minor things they were not able to accommodate.

The guest rooms are also nicely designed, with strikingly tiled showers. They are air conditioned, and the whole hotel is non-smoking, which attracted me as someone with asthma. It did seem as though people had been smoking in some corridors, which must be difficult to control, but the staff was able to find us a nice, large room on the second floor with no smoke smell nearby as soon as I notified them. The only other thing we noted was that the room could have used more places to hang and put away clothes and towels.

We had a nice open view over nearby apartment buildings and gardens. This is a quiet part of town, a good long walk from the main city attractions at the riverside or city center, but we found cab fares reasonable when we didn't feel like walking too far. We also used one of the hop-on-hop-off bus tours to go all around the city, and it was accessible after a 15-minute walk. There were several nice cafes and bakeries near the hotel, which we preferred to the restaurant buffet

Lovely hotel.

A very nice hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, with a great bathroom and fantastic, beautifully tiled walk-in shower. Breakfast buffet was well worth the money. Only drawback was the distance from the centre of Porto and the river.

Mon compagnon et moi-même avons passé un excellent séjour à l'hôtel Cristal Porto. La chambre était propre et bien équipée, le personnel fut accueillant, à l'écoute et agréable. Le petit-déjeuner sous forme de buffet a ravi nos papilles.
Mention spécial pour la petite attention du personnel le jour de mon anniversaire avec un délicieux gâteau apporté dans la chambre.
