The Lounge Inn was absolutely amazing! From the unique rooms, to the cleanliness, to the staff, I can’t wait to go back. Melo, one of the managers, was the most amazing. We enjoyed some welcome drinks with him and he told us all about Porto and what to do! We didn’t have to make our own itinerary. 5/5 starts for Melo and the Lounge Inn!

It failed my white napkin wipe test for cleanliness.

I got locked out coming back to the hotel on my first night because there's no 24-hour desk so to get in you need to use a code. My code is not work on the door locked. Fortunately a man came by and said there are two doors for this place are you sure that you're using the right door. It turned out that I needed the door on the right. The daytime desk man never explained that to me. I think maybe the lounge Inn door on the left is for the service personnel but I'm not sure what that door is for.

The shower was great the mattress was adequate.

It's very close to the metro stop and there are cafes around the square where the Metro stop is where I got coffee and food.

A little bit far from the main attractions in the city but I guess it is still okay for the price I paid. The area could get noisy in the mornings due to the traffic passing by in front of the property. The front desk staff was really helpful with some recommendations.

This was my second visit to Lounge Inn - my first was 5 years ago. However it did not disappoint. The hotel is compact but had everything I required.
The nearest Metro station is around the corner and it takes just a few minutes to get to Porto centre.
The area is vibrant during the day, but safe and quiet at night. There are some good local dining options.
The hotel manager, Melo, is very friendly and accommodating.
I can highly recommend this hotel.

I had a good stay at this convenient and well priced property. The lady i dealt with during ny stay was fantastic - the only small negative is that reception was not open when it said it would be. A quick call to the number on the door led to the lady arriving a couple minutes afterwards to check me in etc.

Firstly, we were very apprehensive as we made contact with the hotel well in advance to say we were going to arrive after the 6PM check-in window. We were told they would give us the key code and instructions for self check-in but despite emailing, comments via hotels.com we did not get a response. I ended up ringing 2 hours before our arrival and the lady responded to say she would email these across. Luckily we received instructions 40 minutes before arriving. We did not see anyone during our stay so apart from room service which happened (with clean towels each day & bed was made), the presence of management was non existent for us. The hotel was 30 minute walk from the river but close to a metro (€2.60). The walls were thin but air conditioning and black out curtains were fantastic. Black mould in shower area (and window from shower into room). Close to supermarket. I think nightclub next door has closed down so no real noise complaints for us.

Too loud and far from the city center

Staff don't speak English. It was difficult to understand each other. If you stay there during the weekend, ask not to have the room above the night club. Music was so loud and we could hear people talking outside while they were smoking until 3 am. They gave us another room after my noise complaint.

What an extremely fine place!
Clean, spacious, tidy, friendly, close to all public transportation, close to supermarket Pingo Doce, a lovely lady welcomed me and was extra caring in reception and full of hospitality in check-in and during the whole stay.
It is an amazing place and I fully and proudly recommend it to all.

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience with this hotel. First of all started on the day of my arrival when I received a text message asking me when I would arrive since their reception was going to close at 6pm. They asked me to be at the reception the next day to do the check-in at 9am .. I wait until 9am and the reception was going only to open at 1pm. Also, my room was in front of the reception and during the new years, they had an issue with the key and there were people talking until 3am.

Great place for the price!

The room was very clean and comfortable. The desk manager was very helpful and gave directions to the must see place in Porto, the most beautiful library where the author of the Harry Potter books found her inspiration.

We thought we left our cellphone in the room and they looked into it right away. We managed to locate the missing phone in another luggage.

Room was small and basic, but comfortable bed, air conditioning, en suite and balcony facing the church which was a bonus. Nice touch was the small bottle of port as a welcome gift.
Bathroom tiles need to be re-grouted as they have that black mould that is impossible to clean off.
Hotel is only partially manned and you let yourself in by key. Fortunately we didn’t have any issues but it’s a bit disconcerting to have no-one around at all.
Loved the location considering it was a good 20 minute walk into town as the nearby Marques square had a bar and there were local bakeries and reasonably priced restaurants around. Additionally it was close to the metro so you could get to the airport for €2.25.

I stayed a night at this place and chose this place because of good reviews. I guess everyone has different experience. The owner help me when asked how to get to the center, but still I can't tell that staff was friendly, I felt staff treated me as non important guest, which is sad! I didn't have light at my room during night and next morning, I wanted to tell before I check out, but receptionist didn't even asked me if I'm happy or anything else?! I talking about good service. One more thing which I consider very strange: during my check in I payed with my Visa debit card and they asked for my billing address. Really? I couldn't believe that! I definitely didn't feel welcome at this place and it's not nice to feel that way during vacation.
Good location, on same street on the corner you can find very nice cafeteria with real great service, (the authentic portugal service and people), delicious pastry, best prices: Doce Alto!

I've stayed at this hotel a few times when in Porto. It's not expensive, near a subway station and also bus stops. It doesn't have breakfast included but you can find good places around for breakfast and there's also a mini-market nearby if you want to buy drinks, snacks, fruit or whatever.

The facilities are poor. There is not enough storage space. There is no cooking oil or salt to use even though there is a kitchen. There is no coffee maker. The location is actually not close to the center. They charge extra for my 8-year old kid.

The hotel is very well situated. It is very close to a metro station, a few restaurants and markets. The Wi-Fi did not work for the first two days and the person in charge was extremely rude to me when I complained He stated that the problem was with my iPhone and only decided to call a technician when I said that I wanted the money back from the subsequent nights because I was going to relocate to a hotel with Wi-Fi. He had made us pay for the whole 5 day stay when we checked in ( which I have never done before.)
The room was okay for 2 people but we made a reservation and paid for 3, so I was unhappy to find a very uncomfortable 3rd bed and amenities for only 2 after a few days.

We originally book this guesthouse very last minute due to a flight error. Pedro who is the owner could’ve not been any nicer. He gave us guidance through Porto, this guest house is way better than a hotel. He made us feel like at home. Also it’s very private and quiet. Restaurants are near by, and whatever you need Pedro is there for you. Would absolutely recommend it!! THANK YOU PEDRO!!

A great place to stay for a weekend in Porto! Our room was rather small but very clean and comfortable enough for the very reasonable price. The location was incredibly convenient to the Marques metro stop which was a short trip to the center of the city. Beat of all, Pedro was so kind and helpful. I'm normally too lazy to comment on the hotels I stay at, but I was so pleased with the Lounge Inn that I have to. We were given a room in the annex, only two per floor. Extremely spacious, tastefully decorated, with a mini kitchen, electric window shutters, a 21st century shower, individual air conditioning - absolutely nothing not to like. Add in a very short walk to the subway and a reasonable price - you just can't go wrong!

Wonderful neighborhood in Porto, close to the Metro, walking distance to many sights as well as local places to eat. Piro the staff was exceedingly helpful and pleasant, room was clean and comfortable. Note: some rooms are up 2 flights of stairs. Also in our room, the showers did not have an opaque wall between the shower stall and the rest of the room, which was odd. Lastly, it would be nice if there was coffee making facilities in the room and if the inn offered laundry services. Still, excellent value place to stay in Porto.

Perfect small hotel

Lounge Inn was a great place to stay while in Porto. The location was excellent - just a few minutes walk from the metro. The room was small but very comfortable. And the port wine taster that was 8n the room was a nice welcome to Porto. But what makes Lounge Inn special is the very friendly and helpful owner. He gave us lots of good information and advice that helped us make the most of our time. We will definitely stay here when we return!

Pedro, who greeted me when I arrived for a late check in was very helpful in providing a map and all the best sites and Restaurants and brought my luggage up and left a small bottle of port wine. Although the room was small it was well suited for one person since I was the only one staying there. Nearby were several cafe's and pastry shops. Also there was a market to buy fresh fruit real cheap. The location was a short distance to Marques Metro station, 2 stops from Trindade the interconnect station to other lines.

We liked the hotel. The owner was fabulous...he was multilingual, very friendly and helpful. The drawbacks are that the bed isn't super comfortable, the curtains have mildew (Porto is very humid), and there were dead bugs in the light fixture in the bathroom. Honestly, though, for the money, this hotel is an okay value in Porto.

Great studio appartment not too far from downtown

We were welcomed by Pedro at the reception who was very friendly and helpful, and with some port wine in our studio appartment (that was a nice touch).

Our studio appartment was clean, spacious, newly renovated and well-decorated. We were very impressed. We had asked for 2 twin beds and it was set up as requested. The studio had a small kitchenette with a small stove, microwave, mini fridge and a coffee machine (with coffee pods). Although, there were some dishes and coffee cups, there were no ustensiles, and no sugar and milk for the coffee. The shower was nice and big (with light and music in the shower, and a rain shower). There was a an elevator, so it was not a problem for our luggage.

As for the location, although, Lounge inn is not located near downtown and the old town, it was pretty easy and quick to get there by metro (Marques station is only 4 stations from Sao Bento and direct). The location is also close to the highway if you rent a car. You can park around for free during the night. There was a small grocery store near by and a nice place to have brunch near by called CasaNova.

The only negative thing about our studio appartment was the noise at night. The windows are not insulated so we heard the cars and people like they were in our room. Please bring ear plugs or ask for a room that is not in the front of the building.

Lounge Inn is a small boutique hotel located 2 min. walk from Marques metro station. The room was clean, small but cozy. The staff was very helpful, give me tips where to go, what to see in a short period of time. They have their own app with offline map, city guide and useful info. If I come back to Porto i'll stay here for sure.

Normally I ignore the very poor reviews when a place has such a high overall rating, but in this case they were right - Rude staff (during the very limited hours they are there), stiff uncomfortable mattress & extremely noisy. On the bright side, it is close to the Metro.

The whole experience just exceeded our aspectations. It is charming, clean and airy in a central location but Pedro the receptionist is a league of its own and the soul of this place. A wonderful smiley chap who is always happy to assist guests, with a charming pride of his city he tells the history of the country. Calmly explains how to get from A to Z and make arrangements out of his own freewill. He is truly what every hotel needs to enhance the experience of its guests.

The location of the Hotel is great, not too far from the city center 10 min by metro. The room was clean and spacious, it was perfect! But I would say that what changed my experience in Porto compared to other cities I have visited is the receptionist in Lounge Inn who took the time (30-40 min) to show me on a map all his favorite restaurants, coffeeshops, places to visit with historic knowledge, places I should go and not go, where to buy cheap food, etc. The receptionist really enhanced my trip in Porto and made it the best city i have visited for now. Would recommend to everyone!

Excellent small hotel close to the city center. There is a metro station 2 min away which makes the hotel location very convenient for airport transfer and for city visits. There are wonderful breakfast places just next to the hotel and the restaurants are not far.
The hotel is new and super clean. The furniture is new and stylish. Our room was small with street view but quite comfortable and cosy. The bed is double but not too large. This is the only thing that could be improved.
The owner is kind and helpful. He gave us great tips about sightseeing and restaurants.
I strongly recommend the hotel. Excellent value for money. We definitely will be back.

We loved our stay since the bed was comfortable and the shower excellent. The WIFI was fast and dependable. The only downside was no place to make coffee or tea. There were no breakfast options at all at Lounge Inn. I totally missed that fact when I reserved the room for us. The room size was very small too. Everything was beautifully decorated though. The hotel host that checked us in really took the time to tell us about the city and how to navigate it. He was super friendly and helpful.

Last minute booking and great surprise!

I booked the hotel last minute on Expedia at a great price and what a surprise. I was traveling with my mother to celebrate her birthday and Lounge inn was perfect. João (the owner) was super friendly and very helpful. Always available and with great tips. The rooms are great (coffee machine is a plus and made me happy!) and the hotel is located super close to a metro station which takes you wherever you want to go. I would definitely go back and recommend it!

Lovely. Clean hotel!

I was very impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. Our room was perfect - exactly how it was pictured. There were 3 of us sharing 1 room. They placed us in a 'suite' which had plenty of room. We had 2 beds and a very comfortable cot. A kitchen area with a sink, refrigerator, dishes, cutlery and a stove. Shower in bathroom was lovely. It even had a radio! I would highly recommend this hotel. It was about a 20 minute - pleasant - walk to the shopping district.
The staff is wonderful!

Disappointing stay!

Expedia let us purchase the room at 10pm, but after purchasing, we get an email saying hotel check-in ends at 9pm. When we got to the guest house, the front desk lady was extremely rude. It felt like we were non-paying guests entering her house and inconveniencing her by arriving at night. We booked a double bed and she told us the room wasn't clean yet so she would give us a room with two single beds. The room was very sterile. It felt like we were sleeping in a doctor's office. The mechanical blinds were broken so we had light from the street filling the room all night. I would have been much happier paying a little extra for a hotel instead of a guest house.

Very friendly and welcoming

The owner was very friendly and patiently waited for us when we got lost on the way from the airport to the hotel and arrived almost two hours later than the normal check-in time. We were greeted with two complimentary mini bottles of port wine in our room, which was named after a type of Port (Crusted). Our room had an amazing shower with built-in radio, lights and massage jets! The Marques metro station is 300 m away and takes to to the centre in minutes.

Hotel for guests with cars

The hotel is perfectly situated - you can walk down the hill for 25 min and reach the river or you can get the metro (2 minutes walking). For those coming with a car - we saw at least 4 places for paid parking 3 minutes from the hotel. Don't park in the parking on Rua Constituicao - it is much more expensive. We paid 10 euros for 48 hours parking which I thought was great, but Pedro from the hotel told us that right around the corner, the parking is nicer and is just 2.50 per day. In a radius of 150 feet you can find 2 bakeries and other places to have breakfast or a snack. We had a studio that was renovated this summer and it was extra clean. We even had a small bottle of Port in the room as a bonus. Other things worth mentioning - motorized window blinds, and a shower cabin with side jets and built-in audio system - definitely not a typical hotel!

Old apartments remodeled and repurposed into hotel

Pedro was a very nice manager. The place is newly renovated. We were in the studio apartment rooms. A little bit far from the city center for walking, but close to the metro. Comfortable and very clean. Nice Porto wine theme. Great for the price.

The room was lovely, although smaller than I expected. I didn't like the window from the bedroom to the shower because I like privacy when I wash, although my partner loved it. The bed wasn't soft which I found very comfy and the room was quiet enough though it faced a busy road.

Would stay here again!

Great stay. The studio wad large and very comfortable. It had everything you could need to make it a home away from home. The staff was super friendly. It is a bit far from the main center but it is only a few steps from the Metro stop Marques which have you in the center in minutes. We chose to walk and it was great to see the neighborhood. The little cafe to the right of hotel was also good for breakfast and snacks.

Very nice hotel suite

I got a suite (I didn't know when I booked it because the price was comparable to other hotel rooms).
Very nice, roomy, clean with a balcony. Nice helpful staff. It was right next to a metro station, but I chose to walk to Baixa, a 15-20 walk, but right on Rua Santa Catarina, so no way to get lost.

The only thing I would say to the staff is that a taxi to the airport doesn't cost 10-11 euros like they had advised, but 20 euros, which I found very expensive considering it was a 10 minute ride, but due to the time of my flight taking the metro didn't seem to be a choice. By the way, I noticed that when the person at the hotel was reserving the taxi he pointed out that it was for a \"estrangeira\" (foreigner) so I guess they have a more expensive rate for tourists?

Just perfect

Fantastic the hotel owners were wonderful from advice on where to go and what to see and where to eat, to being attentive and incredibly friendly. I stayed here with my husband for our 30th wedding anniversary and the owners had a bouquet of flowers for us with port etc they were so kind and hospitable. The room was beautiful and clean with everything you need for your stay.I would stay again in a heartbeat this place is fabulous.

No recomendado. Al llegar el señor de la recepción no sabía ni hablar en inglés ni en español algo que dificultó mucho la comunicación, luego tuvimos que dejar las maletas tiradas en un rincón ya que teníamos que ir a un tour y nadie estaba en el dichoso hotel. Al llegar en la noche nuevamente no había nadie en la recepción ya habían subido nuestras maletas.
Al entrar a la habitación lo primero un olor a humedad terrible, la habitación demasiado pequeña, lo más aqueroso fue encontrar pelos largos en las almohadas y sangre en el cabecero de la cama y en las almohadas, el baño se notaba sucio y había un vaso con agua sucia. Al día siguiente no limpiaron nada solo te dieron la cama. Nunca había nadie en recepción para por lo menos pedir que limpiaran, tuvimos que comprar desinfectante y limpiar un poco ya que nos dio mucho asco, las toallas se notaban demasiado viejas y dudamos que estuvieran limpias según los acontecimientos. NO RECOMENDADO.
