I was able to find parking easily on the street but the hotel has a parking garage (for fee). The room was comfortable and clean; breakfast was varied and delicious (fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, cereal, pastries, ham, cheeses, breads and croissants). Coffee was good. We had breakfast in the courtyard which was really nice and quiet. Historic district was an easy walk away. I would stay there again.

Stayed for 3 nights. Overall pleasant stay, good value, and breakfast was good too. Only shortfall is you need a bit of walking up/down hill as it is situated at the hilltop. Walkable if you enjoy strolling and exploring. The neighborhood.

Location: It is located in downtown Porto and it is a 10-15min walk to heart of the city. It is a safe area.
Parking: they offer parking for 5E a day and it's literally across the street from the lodging.
Lodging: This is an old house that was remodeled inside out and maintained character. It is beautiful inside out. It is well maintained and clean.
Breakfast: It is 5E per day. It is a basic breakfast and I am sure you will find items you like. The minus of this place -- I told them in advance I was lactose intolerant and they DIDNT buy vegetable milk to accommodate my needs, which I didn't appreciate. I had to buy my own milk.
Laundry: they do your laundry on the same day
Staff: very pleasant.

This is a budget accommodation and so worth it. I would do this again.

A Pleasant and Comfortable Inn

While not centrally located in a tourist area, the inn was within easy walking distance of all major tourist sites and public transportation. It took less than 45 minutes to get to the airport, door-to-door via tram from the inn. The inn itself was comfortable, I had a large and pleasant room, the breakfast was adequate and the staff was friendly and helpful. I will stay again when visiting Porto.

As solo traveller I got an attic room with tiny ensuite . Spotlessly clean and as windows old and draughty had to ask for extra blankets , which I received immediately.

A bit tatty on the outside but fabulous inside!

Hotel staff were fantastic and went beyond the call of duty to help. Room was quiet and came with a powerful fan that was more than adequate to cool the room. We had 5 single beds in the one room and it was so comfy. Plenty of hot water, a fab garden and cold beers on sale!

The hotel is very nice, with a beautiful decoration and a very polite staff. even though we arrived late, the overnight attendant was waiting for us with a smile. The room is very clean, with an amazing matress. Only the location puts you a bit far from the main touristic places, but that's not a problem, since walking around Porto is really pleasant!

A hostel also for seniors.

The hostel was easy to find and right in the centre of history. Great for seniors who are good walkers as most of the sights are downhill but you can catch a taxi back that is not too expensive. The 3 hour walking tour is fabulous and a must. The guide is terrific and very informative Brochures for this are at the hostel.

One night stay in Porto, but would stay longer next time. Beautiful garden with a secret tower that affords you a 270º view of the city. Amazing spot to watch the sun set and then come up. I will definitely go back.

When we drove up to the street looking for the hotel, we were a bit concerned because of the old run-down buildings on the street. We were looking for the hotel sign but could not see one and thought we were on the wrong street. Upon circling around the block and checking the street numbers, we managed to locate the hotel and saw the tiny hotel sign. When we entered the building, however, we were pleasantly surprised to find a newly renovated interior and our room and the bathroom in particular was clean and modern.
The hotel staff was also very pleasant and helpful.

First stop on a trip to Portugal and Spain. This guest house might. not be so suitable for the less active as up a steep hill from the city centre, although taxis are plentiful. No lift. Good enough location for exploring the city and the Port Houses across the river. Friendly cats came to sit on my lap when I was sitting in the garden trying to work.

Lovely hotel close to historic area and metro

This place is clean, adorable, quaint and a bargain. It is somewhat difficult to find, there is no large sign to mark it, only a 6x6 inch tile, so make sure you map it before you get off the metro. It was probably a 10 min walk from the metro, bus station, and a 10 min walk to the historic district and shopping. Staff was nice, and let us check in early. Hot water and big rooms. Only shampoo, so bring your conditioner.

Facts: It's almost spring and Porto is pretty hilly. I loved this hotel from the moment I stepped in. The décor is amazing, the hotel structure is unbelievable, high ceilings, doors, furniture, very comfortable mattresses and pillows, good value...I had been in others hotels in Porto and Pedra Iberica exceed my expectations. I will definitely come back for seconds next month.

Interesting property in a fairly convenient location. Off site parking was just a minute's walk away. We booked a five bed room and instead got a three bed room for the same price. I wanted to enquire, but my level of Portuguese was not up to the task. :-p. Would recommend this place anyways. Think it would be nice in the summer when you could go outside into the garden.

Pedra Iberica has a ton of character and we loved staying here. Even though the hotel doesn't have an elevator, the woman at check in helped us carry our suitcases to the top floor. The backyard is lovely to enjoy the Portuguese sunshine.

Beautiful building, castle-like, with exotic garde

Very helpful staff, that goes above and beyond to help visitors. Nice location, close to city center and a walkung distance to the river boardwalk. Clean rooms with all amenities attached. If you don't mind not having an elevator, it's a great exotic place to stay.

We couldn't stay here

We booked three nights at Pedra Iberica. The first was for two people and the second two nights were for three people. When the taxi driver brought us to the hotel, he asked us several times to be sure it was the right place because this is a bad neighborhood. He didn't want to take us to the hotel. When we got there, the man who greeted us was nice. This was the one thing that was ok about this place. The ceiling has mold, it connects directly to a public park, there are no safes in the rooms, most bathrooms are not en-suite, there is no AC, although they say that there is internet there is none... Not to mention, the neighborhood is about 1 hour walking from central porto and the entire walk is uphill (one way). The neighborhood is very unsafe looking with lots of street people and abandoned apartments. This is certainly not a hotel and I have stayed in better hostels throughout Europe. We moved to another hotel and didn't spend the night here because we just did not feel safe. Don't stay here, not even for one night. You can get a better hotel for the same price.

I wasn’t expecting anything too great at this price, however, this hotel was unacceptable to us and we ended up staying somewhere else and losing the first night’s rate. The hotel does not look anything like the picture on hotels. com. It was across the street from various abandoned buildings and definitely not a four star hotel. Although the rude manager insisted that the hotel was “as good as the Sheraton,” the crowded room did not even have air-conditioning. Do not stay here; there are lots of better reasonably priced accommodations in Porto -- an incredible city.

Funky Hotel within walking distance

This place is very interesting and quirky. Both rooms we had were huge and really interesting. It's basically a very cool house. The woman at Reception at night was extremely helpful and friendly. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the main part of town, but it was a great value and a very comfortable night.

How does this hotel get a 4 star rating!

I would like to know who rates these hotels, is it a corporation or the does the hotel rate itself. It should not be allowed. From our experience it was a 2 star.Sure the entrance is lovely with beautiful staircase but you see that for one minute, then you are in your room for the rest of your time. My main complaint was the room was freezing cold, there is a small wall heater that does heat the room reasonably but if you have to venture into the bathroom/toilet you absolutely freeze. It was like we walked outside with temperature of 4°. It just ruined my entire stay, the room itself was old but ok, lino on the floor was old and tacky. The towels were not changed and because it was so cold were still wet when we came home and for the shower they were still wet from last use. Toiletries were given on first morning only. Cannot believe their sign at front door, how they can expect guests to find this place is beyond me. The girl at front desk was an absolute delight, friendly and helpful and feel bad that I cannot give a better review but we were not happy with condition of room for comfort.

Great Hotel for a Small Budget

We stayed here at the end of our trip to Spain and Portugal so we were looking for a less expensive place to stay. The room was a little loud as we were right next to the main entrance and the street and we had no AC so it was a little warm. Overall the room was very clean and for the price we thought it was a great value! It was a bit of a walk to the Metro but we would stay here again.

Bed wasn't very comfortable either were pillows we didn't sleep very good but I'm sure if we asked they would have done something about it, the younger lady we checked in with was very friendly and helpful.. Basically the only bad thing was the walk up the hill each day!!

Pedra Iberica is good accomodation for family of 5 - 5 nice beds in two rooms with adjoining bath. Pretty and comfortable except no air conditioning so it was brutally hot at night; couldn't keep the windows open as the room opened to a courtyard which was used by guests until til 2:30am! While room was lovely, location was not convenient; too far away from Ribeira so had to use taxi service (2 taxis) everytime we wanted to go anywhere. And the walk from the metro was long and through questionable neighborhood. Hosts were extremely helpful - but we wouldn't choose it again.

Hotel molto bello, la scalinata che porta alle stanze superiori è davvero bella. La stanza che ci è stata asseganta era pulita, letto comodissimo come anche i cuscini.
Abbiamo apprezzato la posizione perché con una passeggiata di 20 minuti circa sei vicino alla Cattedrale di Porto.
Molto carino il giardino esterno peccato non averlo potuto sfruttare visto il meteo.
Consigliato.

Als je voor het hotel staat, zou je er niet naar binnen gaan. Nodigt niet echt uit. Ga je naar binnen, dan kom je toch wel in een prachtige oude omgeving met uitzicht op de tuin die ze in de aanbeveling laten zien. Er is geen lift, maar wel een mooie trap naar de verschillende verdiepingen. Vanwege een feest de dag na onze aankomst, konden we geen ontbijt krijgen. Jammer. We hebben uiteraard niet alle kamers kunnen bekijken, maar onze kamer, nummer 32, zou ik niemand aanraden.

Pedra Ibéricaca è una ottima soluzione per Porto: a piedi permette di raggiungere facilmente il centro (circa 20 min) o la prima stazione della metro. Le camere sono semplici, pulitissime ed ampie, materassi comodissimi. Consigliatissimo per chi non cerca il lusso ma una struttura con un buon rapporto qualità / prezzo.

Uns hat das Hotel sehr gut gefallen. Das ganze Haus hat Charme und das Zimmer war klein, aber fein. Das Badezimmer war schön und sauber, mit allem, was man für die tägliche Pflege braucht. Auch sehr sauber und süß. Wie haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden das Hotel weiterempfehlen.

Buscaba insonorizacion en la aplicación y salió este hotel. Engaño : se oye todo tanto del hall como de la calle y eso que estaba en el último piso. La señal de WiFi no llegaba tampoco. El colchón hundido y con ruido de muelles.
Bruyant même au dernier étage aussi bien bruits du hall que de la rue. Le wifi ne se captait pas dans la chambre. Le matelas mou et bruyant des ressorts.
On s adapte a tout, l hygiène y était au moins mais pas a n importe quel prix

Nous avons passé 2 nuits dans cet hébergement et il était compliqué de trouver le sommeil. L'hôtel est très bien mais la présence de sans domicile fixe qui se battent une partie de la nuit sur le square en face et la présence de jeune avec musique à fond est assez désagréable compte tenu du manque d'insonorisation de la chambre.

Bonito pero necesita arreglos

Lugar muy bonito, aunque algo lejos del centro. El desayuno impecable y el servicio óptimo. La cama de mi habitación necesita colchón nuevo. Caléfacción ausente salvo con calentador eléctrico de dudosa seguridad.
