The receptionist Katerina was so helpful and friendly. The location of hotel was great, kind of mid town area, a little walk out of the main port area but lovely. Rooms nice and clean and we had balcony which was very pretty.

Service and check in was excellent. Room was large enough with sufficient space for our clothes etc., but was quite basically furnished. The mattress was quite well used and would probably benefit from being replaced. The screen in the shower was too short to prevent water getting onto the bathroom floor. The hotel is in a great location to easily walk to all of the tourist attractions and bars and restaurants etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay and it was good value for money.

But windowless room, unfriendly staff (one staff member got really upset because a group of guests didn't remove their breakfast tray after eating), small, busy elevators that during busy hours would mean waiting for several minutes before an elevator was free to go up to the 6th floor.

Nice hotel located very close to the Mercado do Bolhao. Rooms are a decent size and clean. Breakfast options are limited (no hot food options) but breakfast hours run long. Note that reception is on second floor and not clearly marked (it's just a table beside the bar). Staff are helpful when asked but otherwise unobtrusive.

When showering, all toilet floor get wetted and so as the toilet paper. There was too hot in the room , the air conditioning was useless. I had to open the window a bit and allow better ventilation then I got mosquito bites a lot every night. The dining area is too small.

We stay here for 3 nights the staff was very accommodating and helpful. We liked how this hotels situation is very close to the action of Bolhao market. Subway, shopping strips etc, but the location is in a quiet neighborhood! My only issue is the bathroom is small and the toilet and shower design isn’t the best, but still functional. We also would have liked it if they added a fridge. Overall excellent Hotel very clean and rooms are as decribed , would recommend to anyone visiting Porto

Staff were very good especially those on reception. The man on reception when er arrived on Wednesday 30 April was very friendly and helpful and suggested several local restaurants that provided great service and food. And on the following morning the lady on reception resolved an issue we had with the TV whilst we were out. Other staff we came in contact were all pleasant providinggood service.

I was expecting an Ibis to be on a par with Premier Inn but the accommodation was like student accommodation, it was very small and the room felt cold & damp, the walls looked a bit mouldy. The bed was comfortable but I felt very cold and it smelt musty. I didn’t say anything as we were only there 4 nights and just the start of a long holiday, I wish now I had.

Great place to stay in Porto and near everything

Great place to stay in Porto! Hotel is in the city center, closed to the, closed to everything, close to a metro station Bolhão, near by the Chapel of Souls, closed to restaurants. Room very spacious, room clean, but the only bad review is that the bathroom shower smell moldy and you could see it in the sealing! Nevertheless, Staff is friendly, hotel has elevators, and they offer for a fee a good breakfast!

The staff were over the top. Everyone made us feel so comfortable and welcome...we could easily live there.
The food service staff were so kind. There are not enough adjectices to describe the direct service staff; Francisco, Katerina and Tanya were amazing; always there to make our stay more enjoyable; our visit to your beautiful city more meaningful for us. Truly special people.

Fantastic location and modern room. Really enjoyed our stay in the ibis Porto Mercado Bolhao.
The room was clean and shiney. Staff super friendly. I really really really appreciated getting rid of plastic out the room First time I have seen this. Paper bin liners, paper in the bathroom. Thanks I had a great stay!

This is the first hotel that I've stayed at that didn't have a ground floor entry lobby and reception desk. We were directed to the second floor bar and lounge area to be checked in by a young woman at her laptop computer. The staff was friendly enough, and when I said that this arrangement was rather strange, her response was \"Yes! We're different.\" When we reached our room I was taken aback by the furnishings and decor. It was a small room for two people, and it had no area for storing luggage amd little space to hang clothing. The furnishings were minimal and more like in a college dormitory than in very good rated hotel. Other than for the bed, which was comfortable, there was not on other soft surface in the room. The appointments in the bath were minimal without even a towel bar to use for safety. Being an architect, I could see that the space was poorly dimensioned and probably didn't meet standard building codes. Additionally, the sink was located in the sleeping area adjacent to what was supposed to be a desk. There was just one hard chair in the room, and I had to request another chair to put luggage on. The final insult was one small window in a sloping part of the ceiling from which we could see nothing. I have no idea what other rooms in the hotel looked like, but I will never recommend this hotel based on what I experienced though the one very positive feature was the excellent breakfast that was served.

I work in a hotel in NY; AC stop working twice in two nights around 2am call reception no one answer go there to request help towels had a funk smell like not clean… staff didn’t seams to care, I know this is kinda “budge” hotel but this was a basic…

Nice shower, bathrooms were good. Having the small balcony was really nice. The hotel was kept very clean! The staff were friendly.

Bed sheets were too hot for the season. You had to ask to have the room temperature changed. A few more hangers would have been nice.

Overall, VERY happy with the hotel.

The hotel was fine. decent location not too far from the sights. Few bars and a really good market close by. No safes in the room or tea and coffee facilities. It served its purpose. Was relatively quiet too. Aircon was good. Shower tray overfilled if you had the water on too high.

The manager was really great. She took the time to draw out specific areas on the map while giving great dinning suggestions and even where to avoid tourist traps. The hotel itself is a great location and very easy to get around from there. The rooms are very basic and leave a bit to be desired but are very clean and still have apmost everything you need.

We booked the hotel as a 3 star hotel and we were disappointed to find a basic hotel with a make-shift reception. The rooms have an unfortunate design with multiple shelves feeling as if sleeping in a storage area. The hotel has two small elevators of which one did not work at the time we stayed in. The area is close to the market, but the market was under renovation and there were very limited options for dining. On the positive side, the staff was nice and cheerful. Overall, we did not feel that the hotel delivered a reasonable value for the price we paid.

Ibis hotels are a hit and miss. I’ve had great experiences and bad ones. This one is right in the middle. There was a very young man running the check in desk when we arrived and I found him a bit unprofessional. But by the time we were checked in another gentleman was there and he was very nice.
Everything in the hotel was smaller than it looked in the pictures. We got the superior room and still felt a little cramped. But it was clean and modern.
It’s an old building, so don’t be fooled by the images. The elevators are tiny, too.
All in all, I would probably try to find a better hotel next time, but it’s not a bad option if you want to be central.

Pleasantly surprised by this property which is quite affordable and yet has pretty good amenities. We had a big enough room though it felt a bit small as we stayed quite a few days, for short trips it's perfect though!
Wifi is pretty good (around 40mb/s up and down), elevators were always working, the bathroom has a few towels and soap separate from shampoo stuck to the wall so no need to bring your own.
The AC worked well and easier to use than most thanks to the touch screen though it doesn't keep the temp well so aim a bit lower than what you want.
The best part of the stay was the staff though, from cleaning staff to reception they are all super friendly and helpful we were really impressed! The reception is 24/7 which is quite convenient and the bar is very nice with reasonable prices on drinks and snacks.
Overall a very pleasing stay and we would definitely come back.

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel (2adults/2children). Hotel staff was nice and helpful. Location of the hotel was quite near the city (walking distance). Main shopping street and bus stops were close to the hotel. Breakfast was very good, only negative thing was that the breakfast room was too crowded and we had to wait for a table. I recommend that the hotel would add few extra tables and chairs to the breakfast room as there was free space. Also one minor thing but really annoying was the design taps in the bathroom, they looked good but very difficult to adjust the water temperature, either too cold, either too hot.
