Location is very good, ten minute walk from train station and 20 mins to Trevi fountain and Colosseum. Good choice for those on a budget and happy to walk.

The room was acceptable and location is good & safe, but the online listing is misleading, the main photo shown is actually the building across the street. The property itself is on the 3rd floor, accessible only by a very small, old elevator. It’s fortunate my friend who uses a wheelchair didn’t join us, as access would have been extremely difficult.

We met Alessandro at check-in, but after that there was no staff presence at all. I left several notes at the front desk with no reply. Although breakfast was included, it only starts at 8 a.m., which doesn’t work for travelers who need to leave early. When I requested a refund for this, there was still no response.

To make things worse, after checkout I found an unexplained charge of nearly €50 from “Viminale” on my credit card, separate from the Hotels.com transaction and again, no communication or explanation from the property.

Overall, I would not recommend this place and will not stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location - walking distance to major attractions, many dining options, and shopping. The room was spacious and clean and had all that we needed. The staff were helpful and kind, but please note that they are only there until 5pm each day, so if you are having any issues you will have to contact the number given for a neighbouring hotel for help. Luckily we didn't have issues other than a small issue with our AC which resolved without needing someone to come in to fix it.The breakfast had a nice variety, cafe & cappuccino also available upon request. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Could perhaps benefit from a few more electrical sockets and a mirror in the main part of the room.

Not having any control of the HVAC unit, was a major issue that couldn’t, or wouldn’t, be fixed. When we arrived, the room was very hot. The staff said that they could not switch to cooling mode until “winter was over” (this was at the end of March). Fortunately most of the days were cloudy so radiant heat from the sunshine didn’t heat up our room. But don’t tell that you can’t control the HVAC unit when I know that you can. Don’t let the customer adapt to your business practices, accommodate them as much as possible.

First trip to Europe, and this is our first hotel during this vacation! Could not have been happier with our visit. After reading reviews for so many hotels, we selected this one because of the service, elevator, air conditioning, and front desk that would hold our luggage before and after our stay. It did NOT disappoint. Marco was personable beyond anything else we experienced in Rome! The hotel was quaint and quiet. The breakfast was far more than expected. The location was good for walking to several spots of interest.

The Viminale exceeded our expectations. While we realize it does not have a five star rating, we came in with reasonable expectations and found that it was clean, well taken care of and the staff were amazing especially Marco who was the front desk clerk for most of our stay. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and made the experience enjoyable. Good proximity to the sites in Rome needs. Very solid three star met our needs don’t expect it to be exceptional except for the staff.

The worst “hotel”. They show something on the pictures and when you get to the building is not true.

We paid a lot for 2 nights in a place that was not even a cent worth it. Choose other spot, not worth it… we came after 6pm and there was no one in the reception, they left the keys on a box and left a letter with few details and at the end said: IF YOU HAVE MORE QUESTIONS DONT CALL US… terrific, dont risk tour trip.

NIce hotel, a little hard to find!

the only issue was they do not staff the reception desk after 5pm. If you need a taxi and want them to order one, do it while they are at the desk so you don't get a overpriced taxi which we experienced one time. Otherwise, very nice and good location, far from Vatican however so need of taxi. When the staff was there, they were very friendly and helpful!

It was slightly hard to find where the hotel was located but we figured it out. there is no sign outside the building. Big green door, hotel is on the 3rd floor.

Close walk to the train station, friendly staff. The room we got was a little loud as it was right in front of the reception desk. The only complaint would be the ac wasn’t cold enough or very powerful, I normally wouldn’t care but we visited rome when it was 35 degrees so it was a little hard to sleep at night: But other then that, great property. Just keep in mind it’s not a typical hotel it’s located on the 3rd floor.

We had a room for 10 nights sleeping three, my sister and my daughter and me. The beds were comfortable and the staff were always very kind and helpful. The cappuccinos were the best part of the morning. It was a free continental breakfast. I would like to have had more storage in the room, a dresser and maybe one in the bathroom or some shelves. There was a large armoire in the room and that was good for hangin clothes. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay there. The magnolia tree in the patio was so fragrant. We loved the smells of it and jasmine around the property.

1A little different than a regular hotel being that its located on the 3rd floor of a building occupied by another hotel and various businesses. Once you’ve acknowledged that, the place becomes wonderful. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. We booked the room with the tub, used it twice during our 3 night stay and it was awesome. The balcony was cool as well, we left it open at night, so we could hear the street noise and the rain. Bathroom was great. Breakfast was simple with pastries meats yogurt cereals eggs bacon juices milk and the amazing cappuccino the staff makes you. It was a bit of a hike to get the touristy areas like Trevi, Spanish steps pantheon maybe around a 20-30 min walk, wasn't a problem for us. There’s a main Street nearby that had lots of food options.

Read in full. This hotel ended up working out great but threw me in the beginning. You have to understand what this place is. It’s a budget friendly room with modern amenities. This is NOT a traditional hotel w a lobby, concierge, grand front entrance etc… The website shows a building across the street which is misleading. That is the “view” part of the name. The “actual” hotel is located in a non descript office building on the 3rd floor. At first sight, bags in hand I was very upset and started looking for other places to stay.

Once I calmed down, the experience did get better. The interior was sparkling clean, modern and new. The rooms were actually quite comfortable relative to the tiny older hotel rooms in the area. The staff was highly attentive.

I went out at night and there were a series of locking doors so it actually felt quite safe. I had my 8 year old daughter with me and we didn’t have any concern for safety.

The location borders on the popular Monti area which with tons to do. It it walking distance to the Colosuem. It’s also a short walk to the Roma Termini station, but I regretted walking due to cobblestone sidewalks. It’s only a few blocks but worth a taxi with luggage.

Bottom line: The interior of the hotel was excellent. It was just the exterior experience that made me very uncomfortable in the beginning. Had the hotel disclosed this, I would have better understood the situation.

The location is excellent. We walked everywhere in Rome from here. Even to the Vatican! All together we walked 50.7 miles in ten days, but saw everything! Trevi Fountain, Coliseum, Spanish steps, and Roma Termini are all nearby. Hotel staff exceptional. Breakfast good, but simple. Small issues were iron leaks water and room maid always forgot to leave soap and body wash for some reason. Unfortunately 3 issues that were more disappointing: 1. Walls ceiling and floors have no soundproofing. We heard everyone’s conversations and crying babies around us. 2. Sewage plumbing smelled grotesque. Every drain smelled like raw sewage until you tan water in it. 3. Night entry difficult for even my petite wife to get through doorway. Only half of the double door opens after 5 pm. I would still stay here again, though.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. It’s a small 10 room property so they were very attentive. However there is only some one at reception from 7am to 5pm. This is not a problem but something to bare in mind. Breakfast buffet was good. It’s situated away from the main hustle and bustle of the tourist attractions but is easily walkable to everything. If your priority is a clean room with friendly staff then stay here. If you want lots of hotel facilities then this is not for you. We loved it.

Small hotel of 9 rooms inside a large building with other small hotels. Positioned directly opposite the Viminale building its self, google maps takes you somewhere completely different.

View will be great from every room as all 9 are on one side of the building facing the viminale building.

We had a fantastic stay, rooms immaculate, big enough for the two of us. Bed was two singles pushed together but very comfy. Facilities included, hair dryer, safe, toiletries, kettle, tv and a mini fridge with reasonably priced drinks. Inc, cans of Fanta, coke, etc €2.50, bottled water €1.50.

Beds made, towel change, etc daily.

All staff we met we’re extremely friendly/helpful. We we’re able to leave our bags, after check out, until the evening as we had a later flight.

It took us around 10 mins to walk to the colloseum, very nice walk with lots of interesting things to see. We took a taxi to the Vatican museums, cost €15 and the walk back was around an hour. Again lovely scenic walk, lots of bars/restaurants/cafes and shops on the way.

Overall we had a great stay here and would recommend it to our friends and family.

Excellent experience at the Viminale View Hotel. My wife and I stayed over the course of 4 nights and loved our stay. The location is great. Only a 10 minute walk from the Roma Termini station. Directly across the street from piazza Viminale. One minor complaint is it's easy to miss this hotel because their signage isn't the best. The Viminale Hotel is on the third floor of the building and there is another hotel on the second floor of the building. The other hotel has a very prominent sign out front, but the Viminale doesn't. Service was excellent. We met four of the staff and they all spoke English, which was helpful. Location is great - it's about a 15 minute walk to the Coloseum, a 15 minute walk to the Spanish Steps, 15 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain and then 25 minute walk to the Pantheon. There is a grocery store a block away from the hotel and a Pharmacy across the street. If you're looking for a good sit down restaurant you'll need to walk a couple blocks. The room was very clean and modern. We really liked the high ceilings and the modern decor. Highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a clean/quiet hotel in a convenient location.

Hotel is only on 3rd floor of very old building, so were very inventive in turning floor into a hotel. Hallway walls made of a fiberglass like material. Different but not horrible. Could hear talking in hallway but not any more than some other hotels ive stayed. We stayed one night in Rome so that we'd be close to airport in morning, so worked out fine as a inexpensive option for one night. Would not want to stay here for my entire vacation tho. Great location to walk and visit some of Rome's sites one last time. Short walk to Coliseum and Termini train station.

The hotel is less than 10 mins walk from Rome Termini station and in a good location. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful, pointing out all the main tourist attractions on a map and how to get to the Vatican using the underground and timings. The room was big and comfortable though (as shown in the photos on the website) there is no closed drawers or wardrobe, everything is sitting out but as we were only there two nights this was fine. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on it but did sit in the breakfast room in the afternoon to help ourselves to the complementary juice and coffee from the machines. There is a kettle and coffee in the room but it was nice to sit in another room and have better coffee from machine. With only a curtain separating the room from the sink and shower (with the toilet off that behind a sliding door) you would need to be comfortable with the person sharing the room! Nice little hotel on a quiet side street in a residential area. Not close to the main attractions of Paris but would highly recommend the Batobus hop on/hop off river boat just a short walk away. Hotel staff where friendly and helpful. Shout out to Helene for arranging our airport transportation and for suggesting the river boat as an option to see the sights. Well the 17.50 euro per person. The hotel room was very clean and perfect for our two night stopover after vacationing in Italy. I would definiately stay there again. Thanks for everything.

Great hotel. Staff was excellent. They go above and beyond to help. Extremely friendly. Location was perfect. Within walking distance to all the major attractions and quick access to the metro. I would definitely stay here again.

It was a bad choice.

Small room and was set for 3 people with no space for bags. The third bed was a cot and very uncomfortable while we were charged for 3 twin beds, No specific services was provided. They serve the remaning stuff from day before for breakfast which is not pleasant. This place is not a hotel. I could get a real hotel for less than I paid here. Not reccommanded at all.

Pretty close to the train station - we walked! Close to two metro stations. Easy walk to plenty of landmarks. Great view, clean airy room, lovely helpful staff. We couldn't have asked for more!

Rome short stay

This is in a very good location. Fantastic service and very helpful staff. Reception is only manned until around 10pm but that wasn't an issue for us. Fair amount of comfort but it was 3 single beds and a little hard.

Good Hotel, Good Value, Room for Improvement

Overall, Viminale View was a good place to stay. The best parts were (1) the location (very close to the train station and walking distance to almost everything except the Vatican and Trastavere; and (2) the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff -- ESPECIALLY Ibra, who was the most service-oriented and highly competent person we've met in two months of traveling so far! Also, our room was quiet considering it was just outside the reception area and also had a window out to a busy street. The room was small, at least by American standards, but everything was updated and worked well.

In terms of less-than-ideal parts of the stay, there were also 2 things to note. 1. We asked on arrival if the shampoo/soap/etc. provided in the room had ingredients that were tested on animal or otherwise made use of animal experimentation. We were advised to write an email, which we did. But we never got any reply, in 4 days. Not a disaster, since we always carry our own things just in case, but the question should have been answered. 2. There were bugs in the room -- probably as a result of the housekeeping staff leaving windows open after they cleaned (which we asked them to stop doing, but the damage was done). Not sure if they were gnats, mosquitoes or fleas, but we did in fact get a number of bug bites during our stay. :-)

All in all, we would consider this hotel again, as it's a good value. But we'd probably look at other options first.

First time Visit to Rome

It was our first time to visit Rome, and Viminale View Hotel made it a memorable one. Our stay was very pleasant. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. They even helped us plan our tour around Rome when we checked in. Famous spots in Rome like the Spanish steps, Roman Colosseum, Arco di Constantino, Roman ruins are walkable from the hotel.We were also able to return to the hotel from the Vatican Museum via bus.
The hotel room had a modern set-up, very clean and had a safe. The bed (i.e. pillows, sheets) and the bathroom was kept clean during our stay.There are stores around the hotel, in case you need to buy some stuff. We also enjoyed the breakfast offered by the hotel.
Overall, we had a great stay in Viminale. And I will definitely stay here when I return to Rome.
