We like this room for 4 for both of us better as we have a sitting area ( sofa bed ) and small round table for drinking coffee and a bed at the side . The whole place is compact, keyless but cosy and clean .This place is very near the Oslo train station and metro line etc so very easy to move around and travel out of oslo.Nice place .There is a laundry room at level 1and a complimentary gym nearby but we did not manage to get to use it .We like this place .

The only thing was that i personally found it a bit cold in the room, even if i adjusted the radiator and it was a bit dusty on the shelf and in the corner (where there was open open wiring?) Over all, would recommend!

The room was nice bed was comfy. As I had a weekend stay the next door building work didn’t impact until the Monday when I was leaving early anyway. Check in wasn’t great I selected arrive now and updated booking instead of waiting around for hour it told me room ready went there someone cleaning next door room told me go wait away I’ve not opened it and won’t for 20 minutes. When I went back to room after this in corridor outside was left a dirty towel and pillowcase from room next door. I raised this with the online chat help at 7pm it was not moved until gone 5 the next day (I raised a few times being told it would sorted asap). This side of the stay the cleanliness in communal spaces and the staff I spoke to let they stay down and are why I’ve dropped stars.

Bob W is a cute and quirky option in an excellent location in downtown Oslo. I love the little Whatsapp messages and the whole vibe of their concept. French press and kettle in the room are also super appreciated.
As someone who travels to Oslo often for business, I can highly recommend this not only for that purpose, but also for pleasure due to the ideal location right in the heart of shopping, restaurants and the 5 minute walk proximity to Central Station.

Cons: No staff onsite and email request was not answered, single room is tiny, as everything is automated via your phone you need to rely on your phone for check in as well as daily entry.

Decent hotel but would likely stay somewhere with better customer service next time.

The location was great. The front entrance door to the building was broken my entire stay. When I arrived to my room I couldn’t get the door unlocked. I contacted the person on WhatsApp and there was no response. I had just arrived from a very long flight and was tired. It took about 30 mins until someone responded to assist with the door issue.

The front door should be secured by a code lock but when I arrived the lock was broken and the door was wide open. There’s no staff on site which makes it difficult to get help since the chat isn’t someone local and fairly unhelpful when you ask about property questions.

Super convenient location but the gym is 30 minutes away... There is construction ongoing and our drain was clogged with previous guests hair in the drain.

Having access to a washer and dryer (with tablets provided) was a bonus (but only 1 washer and 1 dryer so it was a struggle to get a spot).

App works well to open door/luggage.

Room was quite spacious (awful view though) and was nice it had a kettle/fridge

Our communication was primarily via WhatsApp. The Pocket Room was comfortable and included a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a water bottle (for use while there; not to keep). This problem Bob W couldn't control: the first room I was assigned was noisy because of the construction next door. They moved me to a quiet one on another floor. The thing to be aware of is that the hotel is fully automated. Online check-in to receive the front door entrance code and find out what room you're staying in. I used the WhatsApp-provided website to access my room each time. There is a 'slider' at the bottom of this page. To access the room, slide the bar to the right. Within a few seconds, the door's button turns green, the door clicks, and you open the door.

It was certainly clean, comfortable and very well located. Odd that it had a good sized refrigerator but not a microwave oven. It was absolutely wonderful that there was a washing machine and dryer for no charge that even had laundry detergent to use.

Room is very clean and spacious for two people. Well equipped with toiletries etc, useful to have power sockets on both sides of the bed. We didn't choose breakfast, but note that breakfast is a voucher to use at nearby cafe. Comfy bed. I would stay here again.

Although there was a note in my room notifying me that there is construction next door the sledgehammer sound going all the way into friday night was quite loud and uncomfortable. Unsure when that construction is done but it is certainly not quiet due to next door construction amd downtown bypasser sound and tram.

I booked for 1person, the sofa was made for a bed and I had to struggle to put it together to be able to sit somewhere. Glasses in room not all clean. Breakfast I bought through reservation was not worth! 2 cafés option - non of them opened before 8 (there was other alternatives to choose yourself/pay again, both closer and opening earlier). Location was great.

This is a great, no frills hotel right in the centre id town and close to everythi g you need and might want to see.
All the doors and locks are operated by smartphone, through their website, which is a bit daunting if you haven't used a system like this before, and can cause a little bit of battery-anxiety, but ultimately it works very well.
While I didn’t have much interaction with the staff, I was touched by the card they left in my room for my birthday.
The area itself is a bit loud, with revellers walking down the road from the pubs round the corner, and can be heard from indoors if you're at the front of the building, but this is to be expected in such a central location (as an aside, I didn't hear a peep from the other guests in the hotel)

Central stay in Oslo

I stayed for two nights but tried out two different rooms as there were some maintenance problems with my first roof - broken tiles on the shower floor, which should now be fixed.

Things I liked: using the insta camera provided in the room; the lovely toiletries; the comfy bed in the pocket room (generous in width for a single bed); the coffee and cloth bag.

Things I didn’t like: the noise from the next door construction (I realise that this isn’t the hotel’s fault and they helped me move to a room further away but it did wake me early after a late arrival the night before and it was constant); the view from the ground floor room onto a bin store courtyard where people from a neighbouring restaurant are smoking - this prevented me from opening my window. The hotel was also quite hot and duvets were provided for the beds - sheets would have been helpful as the rooms were warm.

Practicalities: Bob W is very centrally located - a 5 min walk from the main train station and close to bakeries, restaurants and shops. It is really easy to travel around Oslo on the bus with many stops close by. (The Vy train app helped with booking train and bus tickets in advance.) The customer service team are quick to respond via What’s app and they were good at resolving problems. I had no problem with the phone-based entry system.

Everything was wonderful with the exception of it was very hot but after leaving Oslo this I don’t think was unique to this hotel. Most places didn’t have AC but they need to work on getting more air movement at the very least.

All that being said the location was amazing the communication was great. I would recommend staying there but know if the weather is warm the room will reflect that too.

Not our favourite!

During our current trip we stayed in 13 different accommodations and this would not be our favourite. The location was great and the room spacious. Appreciated the personal note upon arrival. We appreciate that there may be construction in the area but we were surprised to have a dumpster on a Sunday evening immediately outside our window - a window with 4 panes ( two of which were frosted and the other two looking at a wall). Within the first few hours there were two dumps. The room felt dark and under lit. I was not a fan of this hotel’s self check in. Based on communication I was not very confident it would work. It did, however on 4 out of 5 occasions we didn’t need the building security code as there was always someone else going in or coming out that let us in. I didn’t use the luggage storage as I didn’t feel confident that the luggage was secure. The website indicated you could order and prepay for breakfast. Actually you were given credit at two local bakeries. Would rather have simply decided where we wanted to eat and how much we wanted to spend. Not likely to be back.

I loved #sleepingwithBob although my husband did not. He didn’t like that there was no front desk receptionist, no AC and having to open the door with my phone. I liked that it felt like we were in an apartment with large rooms (full sized bed and a pull out couch), coffee and tea, ironing board, clothes dryer/warmer, international phone chargers and that rosemary diffuser! The location is a 5min walk to the city center, 10min to the Oprah house, 15min to my favorite, the Noble Peace Center and 25min to the cruise terminal. There’s a large room to store luggage with no charge before and after your stay and I loved the personal touch with a hand written note and tote bag party favor. I received immediate responses from the hotel on WhatsApp as needed. Thank you, Bob!

Our room was stuffy & hot and the a/c wasn’t working. We had to open the windows and plug the electric fan that was in the closet. Even that was blowing hot air. The shower has very limited hot water. There’s 4 of us and as soon as one of us showered, the hot water was gone for hours. Glad we only had one night stay there. Otherwise, we don’t know if we could stand another day of heat in the room & freezing in the shower. Disappointed, but thankful it’s just one night.

We had mixed feelings about this place. Great central location, but with lousy views of a dirty back ally. Clean, but with thin bath towels. Lots of cute, hip, touches. Quiet (despite construction nearby) with the windows closed. However, no A/C and no screens on the windows, so you have a choice between roasting or flies (and construction noise) in the Summer. I was told by their customer service when I booked that laundry was in-suite. It wasn't. There was one small (and slow) condo size washer-dryer for the whole building, and you have to sign up for a time slot to use it. There is a free luggage drop, but it is just a room that any guest can access, not individual locked spaces. The entry system works well but requires continuous use of your cell phone, so you can't ever leave it in the room, and you have to make sure it doesn't run out of charge.

If you're ever in Oslo I can highly recommend Bob W.
I loved the high tech keyless entry, the handwritten welcome card, the phone charger, tote bag, kettle, mini fridge which was extremely useful.
The bathroom was spotless and to a high 5 star standard with a beautiful shower.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the blackout blind was excellent.
Really liked the reusable water bottle which you could use during your stay.
I wasn't expecting to get free use of the washateria where there was a washing machine and tumble dryer you could use.

Decent Bob W hotel after staying at one previously in Helsinki. Think it could do with bit of a spruce up in the corridor areas as they seem a bit dark and scuffed up for my liking, but room was clean and tidy. Great price for myself and my family and we liked the reusable water bottles which you could borrow.

The building noise next door was pointed out upon arrival and I read reviews about it. You should definitely be pointing this out to customers prior to booking though. Only affected us for initial day as we needed to sleep for an hour or two upon check in after driving all night. Upon checking in the noise was horrendous to be honest and the building was physically shaking. Thankfully this was only time it affected us as we were out rest of trip during building work hours. Couple of little things need tweaking. Such as facility to empty your bins in room. When staying in room for 4 nights with children the bins fill up quickly and no spare bins bags anywhere, nor big bins to drop your apartment rubbish into which would be ideal. Location and price were were great and I’d stay here again.

The hotel is like apartment living. Check in/out is online with no staff on the property. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The property had washer/dryer, luggage storage room for early/late check in or check out. The most impressive thing was the communication with staff via WhatsApp. They checked in daily if I needed anything, were very responsive if I had questions and were delightful to deal with. The room had many thoughtful touches, such as universal phone/ipad charger cable, an instant camera with film for use during the stay, coffee/tea etc. I’d stay there or at any other BoB property again.

The best thing about the hotel is the location that is very centre with easy access to everything. The major downside is the hot water supply. As a family of 3 people, the hot water can only be enough for one person so we have to take turns to have shower. The waiting time in between people is more than an hour. This is really rare in a commercial accommodation property.

Really loved this hotel. The move away from traditional hotel model is refreshing and suits my style perfectly. The room was spacious and immaculately clean. They also think about the little things, like a personalised note and charging cables, which really added to the experience. It's in a relatively isolated part of town, but that's not necessarily a problem. Plenty of public transport, grocery stores, cafes and restaurants within short walking distance. Will stay at these hotels again whenever I can.

I enjoyed my 3 night stay here. This hotel has no reception but they give you all the information you need on WhatsApp. It was easy to check in and get into the hotel. My room was spotless and even had a welcome note. The free plunger coffee and tea was lovely too. Also there is a gym nearby that you can use it for free. The wifi was quick and there is a fridge in the room. The location is great just 5 minutes from Oslo Station.

Property is in an amazing location. 10-15 minute walk to the Harbour/Museums, plenty of food options on your door step, and great range of shops nearby. Unfortunately there is abit of constructions happening on the road which starts around 8am! But the room was brilliant, a fan was provided which was great because it did get warm. The window does open fully - though not most ideal when you’re on the ground floor! Wifi was good, room was clean and comfortable.

I loved this place: location, cleanliness which is very important for me, gluten free opportunities for breakfast, laundry room and luggage room. I wish every place I travel to has a hotel like this.
I booked the twin bed room and it was perfect for me. It had everything I needed and the bed was wider than a twin bed I slept in before. The mattress and pillow were extremely comfortable

Perfect stay in Oslo!

Bob W’s place in Oslo was perfect. The rooms were very spacious and had everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable and much needed after exploring all day. The toiletries supplied smelt so amazing I didn’t even use my own! The location couldn’t have been any better it was the perfect base for our one night stay. The keyless entry to rooms and the building were faultless.
