Had a wonderful week at Europa. Staff were very friendly throughout my stay. Room was a good size and clean. Shower was hot so exactly what was needed in January. Breakfast has a massive selection and all cooked very well. Wifi was fast and nice to have a free coffee in reception. Would consider again for a future stay.

This is a great hotel in a wonderful location. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fabulous. However, the insulation between floors is not that great. We heard voices and every step from our upstairs neighbors and since they stayed up to midnight, it cut in our sleep time.

We only needed one overnight stay and appreciated the closeness to the train station. One front desk agent was much more helpful than the other but otherwise the hotel was fine. The bar next door made delicious cocktails and there are several restaurants nearby.

I stayed here with my husband for 3 nights in September. We had a lovely stay with a nice big room, a very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast options each morning. The location is quiet - we could only hear brief gentle rumbles from the trams nearby. Very well connected for public transport too!

We had a good stay at Thon Hotel Europa. The location is very good. The breakfast was perhaps not as good as some other similar hotels in Oslo I have stayed at and the choice of TV channels somewhat limited, but on the whole the hotel served our needs and the staff was very friendly.

When I booked this hotel, I didn't realize that the neighborhood was absolutely perfect for our Oslo trip. It's right near two tram lines and is also very walkable to Sentrum, the Royal Palace, and the top of Karl Johans Gate. The Nationaltheatret train station is very close as well (the Vy train goes straight from Oslo airport to this station and then just a few blocks to the Europa). The room was beautiful with a comfy bed and remodeled bathroom. The rooms (and the lobby) have Nespresso machines and that is a nice touch. The breakfast is delicious and SO plentiful. We were overall just so happy with everything.

Fantastic hotel and location! I enjoyed the stay however I must note that the hotel room did not have air conditioning which is common in Europe but uncommon in the US so it was a bit of adjustment.

A nice hotel including spacious room, great location, good pricing and absolutely the best included breakfast spread of any hotel we have stayed at in 50 years! But oh the downside! The west facing room was unbearably hot. No A/C. For 2 nights in a row, the room only got down to 26 degrees overnight. We hardly slept. Made worse by the loud rumbling trams coming right under our open window every 2 mins until 1.30am!! Bathroom on the small side as well. It was not a sensible choice for mid summer!

The hotel was conveniently located, close to the Royal Palace, the History Museum and only 15 minutes walk from the main waterside area. The room was fine and well equipped, but the highlight was definitely the Breakfast buffet, smoked salmon and scrambled egg was the highlight.

We loved Thon Hotel Europa! And we would have given it 5 stars - the hotel location, room, etc were great. The free breakfast was delightful as was most of the staff. But not Anwar, or as we refer to him forever more, as the “food police.” On our way out of breakfast I took two slices of already buttered bread that I could not finish, in a napkin, for later. We were walking out of the dining room when Anwar stopped me, not even asking what was in the napkin, and proceeded to tell me that I cannot take food out. It must all be eaten in the dining room. I asked him why and he said that “it costs the hotel money” as he forced me to leave the bread on the counter and would not let us pass until I did. He was always milling about the exit and we finally understood why. We stayed for 4 nights, 2 of which were spent traveling to the fjords, not partaking in Anwar’s “costly\" breakfast but did not ask for or receive refunds for the breakfast that we did not eat or the room that we did not stay in - even though that costed us, the customers, money. The lovely front desk agent, Belinda, tried to reason with him on my behalf but he refused to budge. Belinda indicated that upper management would get back to me but they never did. Nor did they respond to any messages after the fact. This hotel is located close to National Theatre rail station which is a direct link to the airport. There is a tram stop and taxi rank close by, although we found it so easy to walk around this beautiful city. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff very welcoming . The hotel provided the best breakfast I have experienced on my many travels. The only diwnside was that they missed making up our room on the agreed day, but fresh towels were provided promptly. The hotel is highly recommended despite this slight mishap.

The hotel is located very close to the national theater and very easy to get to by train from the airport. I booked a double room because it was the same price as a single and I am so glad I did. I was on the seventh floor and my room allowed a nightly sunset. The staff, all of the staff was extraordinary, the breakfast was ample, and my room was so comfortable. There is a Nespresso maker in your room, but there is also one in the lobby, which is where I chose to make my coffee every day. As a single female traveler, I felt very safe coming back to the hotel late at night, which is very important to me. Matias!!! He saved me because I booked a very expensive Uber from the hotel to the airport the morning of my departure. He guided me to a bus that was around the corner from the hotel, which allowed me to get to the airport in plenty of time for my 6:20 AM flight out of Oslo!! It was my first stay at this Thon chain of hotels, but with it will not be my last. Very highly recommend!!!

Although the road was busy, the windows were double glazed and blocked all noise, which I’m quite sensitive to. The colours in my room were not appealing, but the room was spacious and the bed very comfortable-not too firm. Don’t understand why hotels such as this one have uncarpeted floors- footfalls can be heard from above. This is an annoyance. Fortunately, the guests above were considerate, as I tried to be to those below me. All and all, a really good stay!
