Basic but clean, safe and in a beautiful location. Room had a small toilet+shower wetroom and three small beds with foam toppers, alongside a small dining table and a sofa. Small radiator did a decent job of keeping cold out, but room was only ever mildly warm. Reception very friendly and helpful; free baggage store. Nice range of cafes and bakeries nearby.

Coach’s is a very good budget hotel. It is in a good location with lots of shops and restaurants nearby and is within easy walking distance to the main tourist sites. The staff at the hotel were helpful and professional, and the hotel was very clean, and had good WiFi.

Very easy walk to some of the main attractions in Oslo. There’s a supermarket nearby and cafes and restaurants just downstairs. The place is in great condition and you get a feel of staying at a genuine local place in Oslo. Free coffee from the machine was a nice bonus.

Great place and friendly staff

Very helpful front desk staff, who offered local knowledge of places to see and where to eat. The hotel was easy to find and in a great location for local transport. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. I was on business trip so only stayed one-night, but i did have an external meeting online call which crossed over with check-out and the lady at the front -desk was accommodating to suggest I use the Tv Suite as its quiet and i can work from there until I need to leave. Very thoughtful and accommodating!!

Nice clean functional but small rooms (stayed in the budget room with share bath.) Was nice that there was a sink in the room. Quiet regarding hearing other guests (we didn’t). Confusing how to get into the hotel prior to checking in as the door remains locked. Entered as someone was leaving and they informed us the reception was on the 2nd floor

Really nice and friendly staff. Hotel was nice and conveniently located. Only slight issue was the noise from outside if you’re a light sleeper (if you have the windows open) from the traffic, but ear plugs would sort this. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely old place where a number of writers have stayed. Run by a family. Across from the Norwegian Literary House where there is a great bookstore and one can get a good meal or simply sit and read a book. Just feet from the Palace.

Basic but comfortable accommodation in an excellent location and at a fair price. Had read some reviews complaining about street noise but it looks like they may have installed new windows and I could barely hear a thing from outside even with a tram line right below my window! Staff were friendly and very responsive to messages prior to my arrival. Would happily stay here again.

Head for the Royal Palace

A fine old building with character not far from the Royal Palace. From the central train station find Kong Harald street with the main shops and in the distant you will see the Royal Palace, once there take the right side diagonal and you reach the hotel, ten minutes walk.

No Hand Towels, But Otherwise Goid

The Cochs Pensjonat was an okay place to stay in the heart of Oslo. It’s not great if you have a car, as parking is about $40 USD per night in one of the public lots near the hotel. Also, weirdly, hand towels are not included in the room (I asked and they didn’t have them, but they would give you at kitchen towel if needed (?)). It was comfortable and quiet though, so I would recommend if you wanted to be near the palace and museums.

Location, location, location!! Cochs Pensjonet is short walk to the Slottsparken, the stunning gardens surrounding the Royal Palace. Across the street is Lorry, a fabulous old world restaurant. Despite being in the midst of a bustling neighborhood, we slept very well with our windows slightly open and the curtains drawn.

Location is amazing, everything you want to see is within walking distance. You will also find great selection of restaurants and food stores nearby. The street corner is busy and noisy. My room was on 2nd floor and the noise from trams kept me awake. The room was hot, so I kept windows open. However, every truck waiting on traffic lights below my windows would fill up the room with exhaust. Some rooms share a balcony, and your neighbour might smoke there, which will fill up your room with smoke (if windows are open). Very unhealthy. Staff is professional but only few are friendly. The only reason I might consider staying there again is location.

This hotel is very clean and the bed/bathroom comfortable. The young man at the reception desk in the evening was very nice and helpful. The issue is that it's very noisy in the area with the street car and traffic at all hours, and the noise comes right through the windows even when they are closed. Maybe some good insulated drapes would help? Parking was convenient but expensive.

Clean, spacious room, reception staff very friendly and helpful. Nice to get a free coffee in the TV lounge. Room was very hot overnight (it was August) but asked at reception and got a couple of fans which helped cool it down a bit. Noisy trams going past all night and also noise from people in nearby bars/restaurants- if you're a light sleeper these will keep you awake.

Nice hotel in a great location - good value

My daughter and I stayed in a room with a double bed and an en suite bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable and the price was right. Our only complaint is that the wifi wasn't good enough to reliably stream a tv show we wanted to watch on an ipad. The location of the hotel is excellent, within easy walking distance from the station at the National Theater. There are many nice bars and restaurants in the area. I advise travellers to bring earplugs if they are disturbed by night-time street noises. That's not the hotel's fault. We will stay there again.

Great position easy walk through the royal park into Oslo centre. There was some traffic noise late at night. Breakfast at Espresso House nearby was good. Our beds were clean and comfortable. Shower took awhile to heat up but once it did lots of hot water.

Location was fine for our needs although if you are looking for something closer a little closer to the central station then you would probably not book here. I would say fairly good value for money. This hotel is clean and close to a tram stop and public park. It is secure, as one needs to use the key card 3 or 4 times to get into one's room. Friendly helpful desk. No coffee in the room or on the premises - going out on the street to get a cup and wake up is a bit of a push. Otherwise, no problem staying here if it fits your budget.
