This is definitely a luxury hotel. Lovely service and art deco design. The bar and breakfast on site were lovely. Rooftop service was slow but food and drinks were good. It’s pricey but it you can, it’s worth a stay.

Stunning hotel with so much interesting history and interior design. We loved our stay - the staff were so accommodating and the hotel felt very relaxing and luxurious. We had to leave early one morning and the hotel reception were able to arrange a breakfast to go which has so much variety and options. A truly exceptional experience and service.

The property is very nice. The lobby/reception area is at first disconnected, flows well within the original space. The breakfast space is roomy and offers a verity of table sizes for differing parties. And the foods gave a nice mix of cultures.

This is a great hotel, better than the other five star hotel I stayed in Oslo a week ago. The rooms are very nicely decorated and clean. The staff is extremely helpful. Alexander at the front desk is one of the best i have met. My son accidentally broke the glass lamp in the room. They sent people to our room to clean up in the mid of the night. The lamp is not cheap. I offered to pay for the damage. Alexander said no need. It was an accident. It happens. I highly recommend this hotel.

I really enjoyed staying at this property. The facilities are state of the art, especially the gym, spa, and the main restaurant. The only thing is I would not recommend staying in the room with the children's double beds. The plumbing is terrible and you can hear it whenever someone flushed the toilet. Other than that the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel, but staff was not five-star and the extras for all the amenities was very disappointing. The pool was tiny and they booked eight people in for the same hour which left us sitting in uncomfortable chairs and not together. The staff at breakfast was not attentive or friendly and rushed us out. And the shades in the room where not blackout which led to light filtering in very early and disturbed our rest. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Terrible – The worst hotel I’ve stayed at in years

From the moment we arrived, the experience was awful. On the first day, we requested laundry service, and they simply refused to collect the clothes. Over two days passed with no response. We had to go ask in person, and the clothes were still dirty. No explanation, no solution.

The air conditioning didn’t work, and even after reporting it several times, no one ever came to fix it. We had to sleep in a hot room for the entire stay.

Also, it’s almost impossible to reach the front desk. They rarely answer the phone, and when they do, every request is met with a flat “no.” There’s zero willingness to assist.

To make things worse, staff knocked on the door even with the “Do Not Disturb” sign clearly displayed, which is a complete lack of respect for guest privacy.

Without a doubt, one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. Poor service, unresponsive staff, and a total absence of basic hospitality. It doesn’t deserve more than 2 stars. I would not recommend this place to anyone

The loft room was perfect for me and my teenage son. We each had our own sleeping area and privacy when wanted as heavy curtains close around each king bed. The hotel was very clean and the bedding, towels, and slippers were top notch.
We were able to walk to all of the sights from the hotel which was lovely. The sights we visited in walking distance include: the National Museum (also highly recommend), the Museum of Norwegian Culture (a bit of a walk, but worth it), a kayaking tour with Mad Goats, fjord cruses, and many waterfront shops and restaurants.
Another highlight was the hotel breakfast! The menu options were all delicious. Also available were smoothies, fresh fruits, fresh bread, cheeses, cured meats, oats, chocolates, and macaroons among many other options! It was such a pleasant surprise on our trip and something I looked forward to each morning as we started our day.
I highly recommend staying at Sommerro! I hope to one day return to Oslo and enjoy this hotel once again.

Would definitely stay again. This feels like an authentic restored deco hotel, but is actually converted offices. Opened as a hotel in 2022. The very slightly tired appearance is, I believe, deliberate. Modern equipment and amenities, but lacking USB sockets. Bed a bit soft for my preferences but wouldn’t stop me staying again.

This has to be one of the best hotels in Oslo. Brand new and designed with the old Norwegian 1920-30s industrial atmosphere to be deeply embedded in the building. The breakfast was THE BEST breakfast ive ever seen in any hotel in my life. Absolutely 5 star... better then the ritz...

Not a great neighborhood but easy to access train station. Room upgraded 'superior' small and zero view; told they were sold out and could not move us. Despite being next to elevators, very quiet. Breakfast buffet in dining room is beautiful and varied; however, egg orders have to be ordered at station and ready within minutes but found them cold and had to go back. Sit near the buffet area; very large room. Worst was we negligently left our passports in the safe; they use a sub contracted service which sends packages by the cheapest slowest UPS service; took 5 days to arrive (I actually had to fly back to Oslo to retrieve that package to save another day of delivery delay!) whereas we used a baggage porter service for our suitcases that did same day delivery service to Bergen. They really didn't care.

This hotel takes me back in time.. not in my time.. I truly appreciate history and I love the decor of this hotel. Such careful attention was paid to the renovation to reflect the original build. We were even there for a Jazz Band and the only thing missing were retro costumes.. It could have been 1928. Very cool! The room was beautiful with lots of storage and the dinner options were amazing. Great places to eat right here at the hotel. It is a little off the path, but what fun it was to walk or take convenient transportation just outside the front entrance to explore the other parts of the city. Our stay was wonderful.. Thank you so very much.

Incredible hotel, beautiful decor, spacious and comfortable rooms.
The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere with live jazz and great service.
The spa staff were so helpful and my husband’s deep tissue massage was perfect. The rooftop pool and spa are a must.
Breakfast is plentiful, fresh and delicious.
It has great connections to the centre and the airport transport links.

Absolutely loved this accommodation! Art Deco, stylish, abundance in the details, I would come back to this hotel every time. It's centrality to the heart of Oslo, accessibility to anywhere you need to go. The design was welcoming, cool and warm at the same time. The heated floors were a cherry on top of a delicious treat. The *only* bit of feedback - the provided 'slippers' in the room (I appreciate that they had them at all, period!) were flip flops, not slippers. This is helpful if you are making your way to the pool I suppose, but don't serve as comfortable 'house shoes'.

The breakfast!! I can see why people come to the hotel just for breakfast - it did not disappoint and was no joke - exotic fruits? Homemade smoothies? incredible.

Live jazz?! Delicious food and friendly staff. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating!

Sommerro is a nice high quality hotel very close to city centre. The rooms are nice and the hotel decor is very pleasant. The restaurants are rather disorganised but maybe that was due to New Year’s Eve: booked a table at TAK at 9:00 pm and won’t seated till 10:30pm. The service was also extremely slow and the food was very nice but very scarce and expensive. On the other hand, to apology for their disorganisation, they offered us drinks which we appreciated. The bar and restaurant on the main floor is very nice and staff very friendly. The pool and wellness area pleasant although the men’s sauna wasn’t working. On the whole a nice experience and would go back.

Our stay at Sommerro was for our honeymoon and they went above and beyond to make our stay special! Lovely little touches such as champagne at dinner and treats from the patisserie made us feel very welcome. The hotel itself is stunning, with incredible staff always welcoming and friendly. Rooms are immaculate and we enjoyed a wonderful massage in the onsite wellness centre where we were also treated so wonderfully. Can't fault a thing about Sommerro or our stay in this beautiful city!

This hotel is hands down the best hotel I ever stayed at this past year. The room was so cozy but this hotel offered so many amenities. The staff was also friendly but the hostess with brown hair that usually works mornings was very rude to my mother. I still don’t know why she had such attitude but maybe she was having a bad day. We didn’t let it get to us because every other staff member was so welcoming. I will be back soon!

The front desk was not super willing to upgrade my room even through I wanted to pay for the upgrade since my original room was the size of a closet with no tv or minibar. They were very unhelpful and I had to push for the upgrade. And the restaurant was not willing to accomodate a table (which there were plenty) for an afternoon meeting - so, I had to conduct my meeting at the bar. Service was so dissapointing!

Can't say I fully enjoyed my experience there.

The view from the superior room is to a very sad patio with limited privacy.

The service was not as friendly as they advertise, people seemed to be too stressed out to have time to take care of the guest's needs.

Breakfast experience is very chaotic. Too many people, too little space, not enough staff.

My subjective opinion is that there was a lot of pretentiousness with not much substance.

It's a shame.

We had an amazing experience at this hotel. Everything was well thought, there is still and sparkling water that tasted like tve best water on earth on tab on each floor. The shower was wonderful. I can’t explain how comfortable the bed, sheets and pillows were. Downstairs restaurant is elegant, in our stay breakfast was included and I highly recommend it. Location is also great. There is an entrance to the train station only a block away which was very convenient. Everywhere is walkable. We did not have time for the spa or rooftop restaurant but we heard excellent things. We will be back for a longer stay!!

Great location in quiet area with plenty of tram options for easy transport around the city. Also close to station for airport express train.
Breakfast experience did not fully meet my expectations for a five star hotel. In particular the filter coffee on offer was barely warm, even when I asked if it was hot and was never offered an alternative. I did ask for a cappuccino one morning but it never arrived.
Nice room but need to pay attention to cleaning less obvious areas as there was some dusty spots.

This is a relatively new \"designer\" hotel near the palace. It is in a lively neighborhood, but not overrun with tourists--yet it is an easy walk to the tourist area on the harbor. It has an amazing breakfast (included in the room price), and a full service gym that some locals patronize. While the rooms are extremely stylish, they are not well designed from a practical viewpoint. There is almost no storage, forcing one to live out of suitcases. The lighting system in the room is extremely complex to operate, but no instructions are provided. While the hotel staff were friendly and responsive, no luggage stands were provided until requested, and for one of our two stays, no waste container was provided except in the bathroom. The bathroom was also quite small with little space to put toiletries. The hotel has a ventilation system, but no real air conditioning--and very limited ability to adjust room temperature.

Just had an issue with the air conditioning not working so the room was quite stuffy. Noise from room upstairs was a little annoying and the lights that come on at 10pm in the centre of the building are rather annoying when trying to sleep especially if you are allocated an inward facing room.

The Sommero is a beautiful Art Deco style property. Rooms are large, comfortable and nicely decorated. The entire experience was pleasant from check-in to dining, breakfast and check-out. The staff was friendly and quite helpful. After check-out my wife realized she left a bag at the hotel and our cruise ship was leaving that afternoon. We callled the hotel, they had the bag and sent to us in a cab. They really saved our day and our cruise. This is a hotel you should definitely give a try, you won’t be disappointed.

I had a bad experience as I’m convinced that I left two jackets in the wardrobe and when I contacted the hotel they said that house keeping never found anything. Very strange.
