I really enjoyed my stay at Saga Hotel Oslo. The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was very cozy. Breakfast was great with good variety, and the area felt quiet and peaceful, which made it easy to rest. Staff were friendly and the stay was smooth from check-in to check-out. I would definitely stay here again.

The Saga Hotel is a hidden gem in Oslo. It’s within walking distance to the city, yet in a lovely, quiet area. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Breakfast is wonderful. We felt safe and welcomed! It was so nice knowing we were going back to this lovely hotel after a day of sight seeing!!

The size of the room is nice, allowing for resting in chairs after long walks. The front desk staff was helpful in terms of navigating the city as visitors. The hotel is in an excellent location.
The one complaint is that there was significant mildew in the shower along the grout which was surprising to see.

Hotel was excellent and staff very friendly. Breakfast included which was nice and food was good. Hotel is about a 20/25 minute walk from the waterfront but it’s in a very nice area with shops/cafes close by. Only issue was the lack of air conditioning in the room. I know Oslo isn’t usually hot but it was 29 degrees when we were there. Also be nice if water was included in your room.

Such a charming hotel in a beautiful walkable area. The building is meticulously maintained to preserve its beauty.

Our room was just as in the picture and was a welcome respite to long days of sightseeing

Loved all the thoughtful touches such as robes, slippers and even umbrella rentals in the lobby !

As other reviews states the breakfast was amazing !

Staff at the hotel are friendly and super helpful. Special mention to the Manager and also the young man at reception who gave us wonderful restaurant recommendations.

The staff were amazing, so knowledgeable about transpo, and helpful w my heavy bag up front stairs. Shout out to Elisa. Thank you for excellent service! Breakfast was so delicious. I loved the various smoothies, and self serve espresso machines. The lobby/bar area was gorgeous, with gas fireplace and interesting art. Also, i appreciated the portable fan in room, as most hotels run central heating and too hot for me.

I would have given 5 stars, except for the pillows (way too soft), and the stairs at front.

When I booked this hotel I was a little worried about the distance from the city center. But it’s close to a tram station and easy to go anywhere in the city. The area is nice and quiet and only 15 minutes walk to the Vigeland park. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling to Oslo.

I loved my stay. I was there for two weeks! The best experience ever. Excellent service from all Martin, Marina, Marty, Olivia all the lovely ladies from breakfast where one was Ukranian and from other nationalities that ensured a variety of delicious and fresh breakfast for all tastes. The housekeepers were also amazing, always making sure the room is nice and clean the bed perfectly made I can't wait to come back. The hotel is in an excellent location that allowed me to meet my walking cravings of the entire city. From one park to the other and from the King's Palace to the best restaurants in the city. The rooms were very cleaned, spacious, and the mini fridge saved my life with my mid-night cravings. A supermarket was near which was very convenient. The lobby entrance is beautiful, modern and cozy; it's great to have a nice glass of Champagne or Wine and watch the rain fall or people seeing as they walk near by the hotel. The lobby area has a nice fire place that its very relaxing to be around, and take photos, or get your laptop and do some work. The building is only a few stories, and easy to get around, therefore, you will not waste time walking in long hall ways and being in crowded elevators. You will be in and out the hotel in no time to enjoy the gorgeous city of Oslo with their super sweet and welcoming Norwegians. This was truly the best vacation of my life and words can't describe how thankful I am to each and every single one of the staff members in the hotel.

Modest but just right small hotel in a great location. Beds were brilliant and the breakfast prepared with great care. I would happily stay again when in Oslo. Walking distance to everything of interest and especially the wonderful Vigeland sculpture park. Quiet streets.

Away from the crowds in a quiet neighborhood behind the Royal Palace. Lots of local shopping nearby. Tram stop about two blocks away. Oslo is a very compact city, everything is within walking distance if you like to walk and explore the different sections of Oslo. Very good breakfast, with local Norwegian food,; shrimp, smoke salmon, and local bread selection. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the city.

The staff were very welcoming and attentive. There was a lovely sitting/ reading room adjacent to the lobby. Our own room was lovely, too, tastefully decorated and roomy. We loved the location in a quiet neighborhood very near public transportation and only a short walk to wonderful shopping and restaurants. We would stay there again!

Wonderful hotel in quiet, charming neighborhood...

Lovely hotel, with a welcoming staff and a delicious free breakfast. The location is slightly removed from the city center, nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood that is perfectly situated between the downtown/harbor and cool neighborhoods and attractions to the east and west. We were in Oslo for 3.5 days and never used transit or taxis: We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel.

The rooms are very clean and stylish. My only complaint is they lack USB chargers (thankfully I brought a voltage converter) and there was no safe in the room. Even being on the first floor, the room was whisper-quiet and very private. We honestly had no idea so many people were staying at the hotel until breakfast...

Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the small bar in the lobby was a lovely place to wrap up a day's explorations. Would definitely stay here again.

The Saga Hotel has 4-5 rooms with non-traditional designs which is worth noting. The first night we were put into one of these rooms which we did not like. In an attempt to be interesting, modern, unique, or space efficient, the room had no walls between the sleeping and bathroom area, and a sliding door which could close off EITHER the shower or toilet area (but not both simultaneously).
To be fair, the very friendly and accommodating staff warned us on check-in that “some people love these rooms, and some people hate them”. Well, count us in the latter category.
The staff offered to move us to their last remaining traditional room that night, but we chose to wait until morning.
The rest of the hotel is more typical in design and was very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent. Property is very clean. As we left very early in the morning, a well-prepared takeaway breakfast was considerately prepared by staff for us: sandwiches, yogurt, danishes, coffee cake, bottled smoothie, fresh fruit, with napkins and utensils. The receptionist brought an espresso to our room! Above and beyond our expectations.

The hotel itself is in a perfect location as it is only a 10 minute walk into the city Center and less than 10 to the palace which is something to definitely be seen. The rooms are fantastic and are well equipped with a mini bar and nespresso machine which the pods are topped up daily, the bed is super comfy and shower is so powerful and hot u don’t wanna get out lol just to say the staff are so friendly and helpful this is defo a 5 star hotel. Little tip do u not use the cabs they are so expensive always walk or use the trains so much cheaper.

Second time at the hotel. Got a single room when I paid for a double. The room was noise because of ventilation system. I was not allowed to change the room. Early construction work outside my room. No availble parkering at the hotel. The only worker was a trainee in the reception. She did many mistakes. Said it was parking in the street outside hotel - I got the ticket. Paid 170 euro for the room - the poorest value for money I have experienced in years.

At first impression things seems good. Room side was good. Bath terrible. Shower had zero space for toiletries, mold behind sink, shower was super small and leaked into the room. Staff misquoted taxi shuttle service and was like “ oh well, it is what it is which after negotiating with the driver I was able to get him to take is for about 93us dollars or 800 nok. It is a good twenty minute walk to the station for the train. Comp breakfast was unattended and basic plus in a basement. I won’t be back.

The staff at reception welcoming us was both friendly and efficient, which helped warming us up from the cold outside. The area was very quiet and the hotel's location is good - 15min walk from the royal palace and 20min from the National theatre (and its station) and 15-20min walk from Vigelund park in the other direction. Breakfast buffet and options were very good, staff on service helpful and quietly buzzing around to keep things topped up. Because of preplanned activities, we actually didn't have the opportunity to try the Fangst restaurant but it may well be worth a try.
The room was clean, sufficiently warm and large enough for the two of us with 2 big bags and a large suitcase (i.e. not tripping over our belongings). The bed was very comfortable (mattress not too soft, not too hard). The bathroom was compact yet well designed - no complaint there. All in all, at Saga Hotel very satisfied with our stay and I would definitely look at this hotel again during a future visit in Oslo.

First there is no shuttle from airport. Second there is no bell service to help with luggage. Three the carpet in room was dirty and outdated. Four the floor in our room sqeeked loudly every step you took. Five while they claim to have a/c it cannot be controlled in the rooms. Six we didnt receive our wake up call and were frantic trying to make our flight. BUT THE RESTAURANT IS OUTSTANDING! 5 *

This boutique hotel is attractive and modern, in a pleasant residential area. Breakfast was included and delicious. We had an attic room that was nicely decorated and comfortable but difficult to walk about in— you had to watch where you were going! Our friends had a much smaller room. Service at reception was good apart from a more senior lady who was quite offhand.

Boutique hotel in Quiet Area

We stayed for 2 nights in July. This stylish hotel was air conditioned and our room on the 4th floor was spacious, light and elegant. It was within walking distance of the port and shopping centre, although it was uphill on the way back! Oslo is a lovely city, and there are restaurants just 5 minutes walk away from Saga Hotel.

Hotel was ok. Wouldn’t pay £130 for a night as advertised luckily we had vouchers so only spent £13. Was advertised as 15% off in the restaurant for hotels.com vip members but that never happened as used vouchers to pay and that stopped the 15% off but it didn’t say that anywhere. Frustrating. Room had a slanted roof not easy if your tall like my other half. Nice room good location good breakfast selection but not worth the money

We arrived on a hot day. The hotel has no A/C and our room was stifling hot. We asked if we could be changed to a cooler room and they said sorry we’re booked. We asked for a fan and they said sorry we don’t have one. Unbelievable a supposed “luxury” hotel would put guests in such hot rooms.

Saga hotel is located within walking distance from many historical sites and downtown. The palace is a few blocks away. The staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at the Saga. It seems I mistakenly mixed a review of the Saga with another hotel where we encountered a safety issue with the bath/shower. There was not any negative issues with the Saga Hotel.
