There aren’t many shops nearby, mostly regional or country-specific stores. It’s hard to find what I want. The highlight is the convenience location for a short drive or public transportation away from town, but two things are inconvenient: the hot water for showers only lasts a short time, and the breakfast options are very limited for the price I paid.

The first room I was allocated was good except for the fact that it had a broken window.
The second room I was transfered to wasn't as nice. The bathroom was in a not so good condition, to be fair the bathroom could take. With being replaced.
The staff seemed nice . The room has potential as it was very cosy, but requires maintenance.

I booked into a family room first room they gave me was wrong one as was a double bed and 1 single bed they did swap rooms witch I was happy about until we noticed there was no lock on the bathroom door no catch on the door there was also a strange smell from the toilet when you flushed it and it lingerd if you left the shower rooom window open it was ok but couldn’t due to winds kept blown the bathroom door open also room was really cold at night I was unable to sleep ,the reason I booked the hotel was due to the fact a coffee shop was open next door but the next day found out it was shut down witch ment I had no where for our breakfast or coffee as the was a room with coffee & vending machine with a variety of items but was not able to find Extra cups to make coffee and the cereal looked like it had been sitting there awhile but I couldn’t find blows so was unable to feed my two children breakfast over all my stay was unpleasant and will not be recommended this hotel to anyone else also stuff where hard to find I only seen them 2times through my 3day stay my advice is they update there app on hotels.com as it is false information to those who are looking for a family friendly place to stay as photos and information are incorrect I would like a refund as I was given false information and mine and family stay was unpleasant .

The best budget accommodation I have stayed in whilst in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The team the run the place are brilliant offering awesome customer service.

The rooms are basic however always spotlessly clean with comfortable bed topped with lovely duvet; one improvement that could be made would be better pillows.

The old TV’s can present an issue or two but the Wi-Fi is excellent.

Bentley’s does not offer any food and beverages except for a vending machine in the lounge however there are microwaves, kettles, etc. on each floor for guest to use.

Located on a main road leading out of the city; a five minute drive from the city centre or the train station, also on four or more bus routes connecting with the station in max ten minutes and the city centre is two more minutes away.

Bentley`s exceeded my expectations in all ways .Because my room was so inexpensive I was not expecting my stay to be so excellent .The room was spotless, the shower and bathroom superb .The bed was really comfortable and the hotel itself was very quiet at night .Facilities for tea and coffee making , a great value breakfast and a relaxed and friendly staff made for a superb stay .It is within walking distance of the city centre and the immediate area is a foodie paradise .Lots of different restaurants of many nationalities giving great value, much cheaper than other parts of the town .I would have no problem giving Bentley`s a five star review .It was like a home from home, better than a soulless city centre hotel stay .My go to place for a Newcastle visit .

Doors constantly slamming and noise from road. Room not very dark. Paid extra for breakfast which they refused unless I paid for again (I was half an hour late due to not sleeping well which would be fair enough if they had stopped serving etc, but it was open exactly as normal they were just trying to extort more money out of me). Breakfast also cheaper than what I paid upfront for anyway. Also when checking in same man said he would not need ID 'as I'm from this country' which makes me think could be anyone in there

This was a cosy, reasonably priced lodging house. The toilets and showers are in the corridor, but they had in the corridor a sink for washing up and a small alcove with a kettle and a toaster, which was considerate. And every day they came in to make your bed and empty the wastebasket, which is more than I've seen in other similarly priced hotels. The place was clean and the beds were comfortable and the walls were thick enough to not hear your neighbours.

Not always possible to park on forecourt. Although a kitchenette was available I would have preferred f to have tea and coffee making facilities in my room.

Had a nice few days at Bentleys. Check in was quick. Spotlessly clan rooms. Free tea or coffee all day. Plenty of places to eat close by or take something back to cook in the microwave. Catch bus 10, 11 or 38 from the station, every few minutes.

The stay was pleasant. The hotel offered just we needed. 4 walls and a bed in a welcoming clean condition.
The location can be off putting but I only needed the bed so it worked out well. Spent the rest of the time in the city. The food was cheap and cheerful. English breakfast and a pot of coffee for £5.
again, not the Ritz, but you get what you paid for. If I were to go back to Newcastle for the football agsin, id probably look this place up again before paying double what I paid for this place (£75 for 2 people for 2 nights).

Lovely little hotel close to Newcastle centre and a mile walk to the start of GNR. Friendly staff. Clean rooms and comfy beds and comfy pillows. Breakfast was lovely and staff were happy to serve what we asked for on the morning of GNR, very accommodating with breakfast and provided runners with bananas too. Cheap little hotel for which you get what you paid for. Thanks

Saturday night budget hotel

Checkin was ok, you get a key to the front door to come and go as you please.
Room was ok, TV and hand basin and a clean comfortable room. WC and shower close by but not ensuite.
Area was very ethnic, mainly Muslim, so there was good choice of food walking distance and people were friendly. No local pub which was a disappointment for me.
Hotel was quiet overnight and I slept well.

Breakfast was a traditional british fry up with the very cheapest of ingredients.
If, as I did, you were looking for low price bed for the night, this is a reasonable option.

In my honest opinion:
The hotel itself is great for when you dont want to walk or travel far to the city centre of Newcastle etc its good whether for business who travels or for leisure for short stay weekends or special occassion visits.

I have a positive and a negative feedback about the stay;

Positive - the rooms were nice and clean it was just basic enough if you are there just for a short stay and as much as im very wary and concerned about shared shower/bathrooms etc they were surprisingly really nice and clean as well which it made me feel more comfortable like it was my own personal bathroom - massive thumbs up to that. As much as a cant complain about the room it was ridiculously too hot but it was that time of the year we had a big heat wave and we were on the top floor. May have to require air condition to prevent the disturbing heat.

Negative - Only thing that had really disappointed me throughout the stay was when we arrived and checked in and the man explained the opening times for breakfast and said it was 7am-9am Monday to Friday and Sat & Sun 9am-11am which he gave us the incorrect information when checked in on Saturday and when arriving for breakfast on Sunday at 10:30am we couldnt have breakfast which we paid for and advised incorrect information which was HIGHLY INCONVENIENT. Made it more worse when the blonde lady didnt even apologise about it as well, had to waste more money going for breakfast elsewhere had to travel 5 miles went to Mcdonalds insted

The firat room we where given smelt terribly of sewage so we had to move. The room was ridiculously hot with no air con or fan just 1 window that when you open sounded like you where in time square. The shower was leaking everywhere when you use it. we did tell hotel staff all of this but they did nothing. not happy with the stay

Very friendly staff on arrival and smooth check in process.
Room would be a bit small for 3 people so fortunate there was only 2 of us that could make it.

Room could do with air conditioning as was only 1 window so room was roasting due to the heatwave.

Shower bit small and not very powerful but did the job.

Beds were extremely comfortable and the room was very tidy.

Overall would recommend this but if bringing 3 people you may be tight for space and storage.

I booked this place as looked ok in photos and reviews were ok, I did not realise it was not en-suite and the booking with Expedia does not make it clear either. The man greeting us on arrival was unfriendly and went through the motions. Breakfast was pleasant, if you like a late breakfast- here is not the place. Room was cramped but clean. No gel or shampoo provided, bars of soap in room.The worst part of the stay was the road (Westgate Road) in which it is based, it is very scruffy,it is a very steep walk uphill from city centre, there are buses though. The local Council and businesses need to tidy the area up as it is a real blot on the landscape.

Budget hotel: great for short break!

I dropped my hen party of 20 at Jury's Inn & due to cancellation of weekend bookings was able to stay Friday to Sunday. Looked for a good value single room with on-Road parking for a midi-coach: Bentleys looked to be a good option. Parking was easy. All the facilities were to a good standard although I waslucky to have loads of Freeby soap & shower gels from past hotel stays. In fact, with an Asda right behind open 'till 11, nothing was a problem. WiFi worked well: plenty of power points in study bedroom style familiar to students. Separate shower & toilet facilities were excellent for a budget hotel. Breakfast was basic but good in a nice coffee shop. More vegetarian choice would have been appreciated though.
Needed to pay in to Lloyds bank Saturday, so decided to walk in to town which despite the snow, was easy & pleasant. Whilst in town I explored the City. Cathedral had a lovely rood screen untouched by Cromwell 's army! Was temporary home for street sleepers😉. The Castle Museum was fascinating & took up a good couple of hours. The Grainger Market was great & had so many diverse eateries including great cheese & a Turkish café with veggie food at last! Waverley Road also has plenty of Asian food stores & eateries 👍. The kitchen facilities on my landing were great for self-catering keeping costs to a minimum! 😉

Good value for money with breakfast.

Enjoyed our stay. Very good and tasty breakfast. Bed comfortable. A little noisy at night time with lots of traffic. Kitchen on one of the floors with tea/coffee, fridge and microwave. Very comfortable room. 25 minute walk to centre which is ok. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nearby streets needs a good cleaning with litter thrown everywhere but apart from that would recommend. Will stay there again. WiFi in lobby.

We stayed at the Bentley's hotel in July whilst visiting a relative in hospital. The hotel is a great budget hotel convenient for the city centre and RVI. Our room was very clean and obviously recently refurbished and the bed nice and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great cheap place to stay for a shopping trip to Newcastle or visiting hospitals.

The room was Dean and bed comfortable. The facility in the hotel was reasonable, was able to make tea when required, an area outside the room was provided for this. However there was no lift and the room given was on the top floor which was a long way up. The area where hotel is situated and front of the hotel was not very clean but good facilities were close by such as restaurants post office and shops. Newcastle central station is close and has good facilities. Staff was helpful

Car parking straight outside, nice breakfast included in the cafe on ground floor which has a fairly extensive menu .On a bus route or 10/15 minute walk into Newcastle centre. No complaints for the price. I'll definitely use Bentley's again.
