The guy at the front desk was very nice and informative. Room was clean. The mattress had a giant dip on one side but im small and was exhausted so didnt care. Slept really well. Breakfast smelled amazing but i couldnt eat any because I had to be at my job at 7 am and that is when they start serving.

The room and staff were amazing but i was very disappointed that the TV in my room wasn't a smart TV. The remote has the option for Netflix and Amazon but that's it, just the buttons. The TV was incapable of using WIFI therefore I couldn't watch TV while I spent hours in the room. That's very disappointing seeing as smart TV a very affordable now. Since there aren't any smart TV's in the room maybe there should be basic cable at least for us customers who just want to lay in bed and relax.

This property as well as the location was awesome. The area was quiet even though it's near a small shopping area. There are plenty of restaurants conveniently located near the hotel. I visit Charlotte often this is where I will be staying.

There was a storm and the power went out Saturday night and still had not come back on Sunday when we left. It is hard to believe there was not generator. We were not able to shower due to cold water only. Also, the noise from the room above us was insane until after 4:00AM. They were blasting music, talking loudly, and dropping stuff on the flower, like boulders. We could literally hear everything and I mean everything! It was disgusting!

One-night stay

Staff was friendly and hotel was very clean. However, a storm knocked out power at 1:00 in the morning and was still out upon checkout at 10:00 am. Our room was too warm, showers were cold and there was no coffee or breakfast. We understand that it’s not the hotel staff’s fault that they lost power, but when we asked if we could get a “partial” refund for our stay, we were told it was not likely, but they may be able to give us some points which we don’t want or need.

worst place to stay, staff was extremely rude, no power in hotel for 13 hours and still not on when we left in the morning. no lights, literally had to walk down a pitch black staircase, no ac in room, everything i had in fridge went bad, lady at the front desk was so rude to guests when she got the question are they working on restoring the power. just overall the worst hotel

Charlotte Area Residents Not Welcome at this Hotel

This is an amazing hotel. We stayed here when Hurricane Helene brought a tree down onto our home last September.

We needed a place to stay for a bit while the final repairs were being made to our home recently. As I went to check back in because we needed more time at the hotel, a worker told me that they would allow us to stay that time. But those of us that live within a 30 mile radius of Charlotte were not welcome. Apparently they had some bad experiences with local customers.

I'm sorry to hear this. I just want everyone to be forewarned before they make reservations.

My stay at the Holiday Inn Express - Charlotte

Everything at the hotel was really good. Had only one issue with the cleaning crew where I asked one of the maids for new towels and she never said that she didn't have any but told me to see her later and that was it. We asked her this on several occasions. We ended up asking the front desk and they had someone bring us more. Seemed like she also might not have understood English too well.

This is the noisiest hotel I’ve stayed in in a very long time. The people above us were stomping and running and sounded like they were moving furniture until after midnight! Then there was knocking outside our room early morning, not knocking on our door specifically but just knocking sound that woke us up.
I understand that the hotel was not responsible for the obnoxious guests, so not blaming holiday inn. But it was not the best stay because of noise!!!
