This is legit the best motel 6 and probably the only motel 6 I will ever stay at more than one time. It’s actually modern and updated, even the smoking rooms, cause I get so sick of the smoking ones being outdated!! Why even have them if you are gonna do that. The owner is even nice and laid back! He’s so professional for a motel 6 I was amazed. There was a mishap with affirm and the search engine changing wrong date when booked he was even willing to just give me my money back so I could rebook! He then worked hard to make sure I was able to book it again (took multiple calls but he was willing to help). Its near a lot of stores, food, and gas stations!! The only thing I didn’t like is they keep the towels. When I asked they brought me some but it was two very small towels for two people so I know they probably have an issue but if someone is there from out of state like I was from Wi, you may wanna at least ask how many we would like before we get to the room. I need to shower after a long trip and I’m a women and need multiple lol!

When I checked in the receptionist gave me a room that was occupied. I opened the door and someone was sleeping in one bed and the room was trashed. I was given another room and it was mediocre. Patched holes in the walls not painted, refrigerator was nonexistent and the room smelled like the previous guest smoked a bunch of pot in it

TARA the front desk clerk is absolutely amazing! She is very courteous and friendly. She brightens my day and always goes above and beyond what it takes to ensure that my stay is the most pleasurable. She always makes sure that my needs are met no matter what. As long as Tara is employed here, I will definitely recommend this Motel 6 for those who are looking for a nice place to stay while visiting the Charlotte Northlake area.

Expedia states rooms come with Microwave and coffee maker. No rooms have Microwave, Coffee maker or a Refrigerator. Day 1, they sent us to a room with extremely soiled floor-stains, gum, food, dust, etc. We complained and the moved us to better room. Day 2, room next to us had a loud party that went on until 1:00am. Day 3, they sent us to another room after we complained. That room had dirty bathroom floor which they came and cleaned. Smoke detector in next room had a dying battery. We told multiple staff but never fixed. Third room still had bugs on floor between furniture and no towel rods. Awful place. They should close and complete renovations, at least before they begin offering rooms.

It was a dump. Construction on the building going on, refuse everywhere, couldn't park near room. Paint peeling from ceiling, AC stopped working, bed very old and discolored, no light by the bathroom sink so you couldn't see anything in the mirror. Breakfast--there was 2 pieces of wheat bread and 4 slices raisin bread, and half a gallon of milk. It was only 8 a.m. Never again. :-(

We arrived and were told they were giving us a smoker room and that all their rooms were smoker rooms I explained my daughter and granddaughter had allergies and we could not accept this room. Expedia contacted the hotel to be able to get our money returned. Listen to the tape of the hotel clerk saying after having sex people smoke in their rooms, made me sick to my stomach. I called Expedia to rebook up a room and was put on hold and never did get them to get us another room in Charlotte. I asked for a supervisor and was again put on hold only to be called and put back on hold. It was a very upsetting experience from the nasty hotel to how Expedia was not helpful, we finally got a hotel room on our own I had my daughter and my 2 small grandchildren with me and was worried about their health considering them going into a smokers room.

The motel was not as advertised. Pictures of motel are out dayed. This motel is OLD AND DIRTY. The manager billy is horrible. The rooms were filthy sheet dirty mold on the walls tub and bathroom were disgusting. Asked for refund and i was told that i could not have a refund. Do not stay here. Please be aware that this motel is nothing like in the pictures.

Rudest Staff in the history of hotel stays

The hotel staff was rude and would not allow me to stay at the hotel due to me having a local address even though I had moved away and hadnt have time to update my id. It was really the worst hotel experience I have ever seen in my life.The hotel right next door a Days Inn allowed me to stay no questions asked and even treated me well enough to make up for the rudeness I got at the other hotel. Its really a shame. I stayed at this hotel every time I came to Charlotte but since the rehab and new staff .. I dont think I will ever stay again !!!!!!

I tried to check in early but the rooms were not available. When I came back that night and gave them my ID they told me that the reservations had been cancelled by them that morning due the bill was not paid in full. So I rented to more rooms and they charged ma 2 nights at 92.20 per cancellation fee (one night per room booked). I have put in a dispute with my credit card company. but will NEVER stay there again!

Horrible - hotel was in part under renovation; staff came into room even with the do not disturb sign on the door and only took towels and trash in bin - no returned towels (those were in the office and had to be retrieved) no real maid service; neighbor had items missing from his room and also had a do not disturb sign when it happened; mildew in the shower, very dingy and not really cleaned; no hot water on the second day ... one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed in - definitely not worth a penny!

I would NOT suggest booking this hotel. They reset the keycards for the room every night, so you have to go in the office to get them reactivated. Also, the quality of the room was very poor. There was paint peeling off of the inside of the shower, and the carpet was nasty. If you are concerned about your saftey while traveling, I wouldn’t suggest that you rent a room here. After putting a do not disturb sign on my door, the staff still went in my room to “collect and refresh the linens”...but when I went into my room there were no fresh towels & the curtain to the room had been left open so that everyone outside could see my belongings. When confronted about the horrible service, the staff threatened to call the cops on me. If you do decide to book a room here, watch out for a worker named Billy Adams. He is extremely rude & unqualified for his job. Save yourself some hassle and pay for a hotel room elsewhere.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The picture advertised are false, they made us stay in a dingy separate building in the back, where I felt extremely unsafe. The manager told us that the cleaners went on strike and made extremely inappropriate comments about them. Luckily I brought my own sheets and blankets because the room was disgusting. The TV was broken and worst of all I had to take FREEZING shower. I briefly considered telling management about my experience to get my money back but its not even worth it after reading everyone else's reviews. Lesson learned, check reviews before you book.

This location is under renovations, and its much needed. The room is outdated and so are the applinces. The finish on the Tub/shower was peeling off also the paint of the bathroom ceiling was flaking. The location is by the highway, so you hear traffic throughout the night. The pictures on the website are misleading.

The pictures are misleading! The sheets smell of smoke and had holes, even though the room said non smoking. Carpet and ceilings were stained all over. The bathroom was covered in mold and dead roaches. Only the location was good for a quick break during a long drive.

Convenient hotel going through renovations

Upon arrival it was hard to tell which hotel it was. Saw alot of construction and was unsure if it was fully functional. They said they were remodeling from top to bottom and had limited rooms available at the time. Would have like to have known this upon arrival. The toilet didnt flush properly you had to hold down past the water going all the way out for everything to go down. Took a nice hot shower upon check in and that night the water was luke warm. Very big disappointment. I could work with everything else but hot water is much needed. Other than that the experience was not bad i just would have rather a heads up

The worst hotel I have ever stated! The temperature was 12F and the hotel clerk asked me to do window checkup though she took my ID and credit card. Once i asked the clerk to get in she said its their policy and give my id and credit card back at 2 AM in the morning and ask me to go to different hotel!!!! So I stayed out for 30 minutes as she said there was technical difficulty on her system. Once i got into the room, I saw stain on the wall, nasty bathroom and lets not even talk about the appliances. It's from 80!! Do not book this hotel!! Stay away!!

Fun with my son

I wanted a staycation with my son. My son loves hotels. I go to many of the hotels in the area. I got there an everything was GREAT!!. I was awaken one night by plaster falling from the ceiling. I did not know want it was at first. The next morning my son shows me where the plaster from the celling fell on some of my stuff. I informed the staff. They were very nonchalant like this type of stuff happens every day.

Not a Canadian Super 8.

Check in person was rude, could just be nationality but not acceptable either way! No leeway about checking in early! Pay additional 20 for early arrival or come back after 3pm! Rooms were clean, bathrooms especially showers need updating as they were old and seemed dirty. Didn't care about my son with crutches and friend with handicap sticker they still gave us rooms on second floor! Card system for room entry was a pain as your had to retry about 5 times before it would open! Not customer focused and if we didn't book and pay 2 months in advance we would not have stayed!
Not what I expect from Super 8 but I guess standards are higher in Canada!

DIRTY, SMELLY, GROSS! NEVER AGAIN!

My family had to stay there as we evacuated our home for Hurricane Irma. All other hotels were either booked or much too expensive. We were trapped in a room that look like a couple dead bodies were found there. Carpet was filthy, walls were filthy with what appeared to be filled in bullet holes. The bathroom was horrible! I had to clean it myself. I also bought new linen, pillows, and houseshoes for my family. You just can't make this stuff up! I will NEVER stay at ANOTHER MOTEL 8 EVER AGAIN! I'd rather take my chances at home eith a Cat 4 Hurricame!

Room needed a deep cleaning there was a dust buildup on all the lamp cords behind the night stands the carpet hadn’t been cleaned in who knows how long the parking was tight there was used TVs and toilet in the back of the parking lot along with a Semi trailer blocking part of the parking lot. I would never stay here again and don’t recommend it to anyone.

It was ok I could deal for one night. Defiantly not dir curly near northlake mall. The room was outdated and run down. Did not smell too good. Old school tv. Towels were not very clean. Walls were run down with black marks all over. Furniture had wear and tear. I had my own towels so I could deal but I definitely would not stay again. Also I was charged twice which I did not know was gonna happen so a hold was put on my account and I had to wait until I checked out for it to be credited back to my account.

HOTEL NOT HEAVEN

I arrived at the Super 8 on Sunset Road in Charlotte, NC, on Friday July 26 about 4 p.m. The desk clerk asked me to check the room to see if was up to standard. I did and it was not. The bathroom tub was peeling and a glance around the room told me it was't very clean. The clerk gave me another key and this room wasn't much better. The tub looked as if someone started refinishing it and quit. i asked if there was anything else available. I was told everything else looked like that room except each was not nonsmoking. I didn't have time to chase down another hotel so I checked in, put my bags in the room and left.
I returned that evening a noticed a dank smell that did not go away. I also noticed stains on the wall that I didn't catch at checkin. Again, for the price, I thought this was going to be about average.
Before checking out Sunday morning I noticed a particularly nasty stain as I as coming out of the bathroom. I believe it was mold.
That was it. I had to complain. This clerk told me to call the manger on Monday. I did. I told him the shower was cold, there was a dank smell, there were stains on the wall and I noticed mold. He was only concerned with the shower, saying no one had complained. He also informed me if I was that bothered I should have left Saturday morning. I have filed a complaint with the home office. DON'T STAY HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!

This was by far the the worst hotel I have ever booked. I paid for 2 nights in advance but I couldn't even stay in the room. The room was dingy, the curtains were half hung, the paint was peeling off the walls and door, the bed linen was dingy and I was afraid of bedbugs. This hotel should be removed from your site.

The Super 8 Charlotte/Northlake was the dirtiest, Filthiest hotel I ever stayed in. The walls were dirty, the bed sheets had burn holes, the sink and shower dirty, the was profanity written on the walls and ceilings. The experience was terrible. Worst hotel experince I have had yet.

The hotel over all was your average old cheap hotel. However, I ask room service to clean my room after we left for the day. When we come back that evening my key card wouldnt work. They sent me back to my room 3 times after I told them something was wrong with the lock. Then they told me I would have to wait until 8am when management and maintenance could come in. We set in the front office for 2hrs before they could find us a room. But we still couldnt get to out stuff. At 9am they let us know the room was open. When we went to go back to that room, it was locked and took another 30 min to open.

I ask management for a discount for the inconvenience, all they would offer was 20 dollars. They then charged my debit card an additional 20 dollars instead of adding it as they had already charged me for the stay. I called back to try to fix this but they insist they added 20 to my account. Now I am out 40 dollars to what I should have been and Im afraid to push the issue for fear of them deducting more money from my account.

All that in addition to the other people I seen come in the office with issues. I will never stay there again.

bad internet. horrible facilities. dirty bathroom

No running water the second night and the next morning. Couldn't take a shower and or brush my teeth. The internet is very slow or next to none. The floors are dirty, and the carpets need to be replaced badly. The walls and the ceiling is falling down by chunks. I thought I was in a horror movie. Dirty and old. Not worth $25.00 a night, if that! Now... if you don't believe anything I said.. go, go and look for yourself. I stayed in room #129. I dare you.
