It’s a perfect location for Portaventura. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good with lots of choice.
Rooms were very clean and the maid visited daily.
Beds were very comfy.
All in all a great stay.

Day trips to Barcelona

Very nice hotel in a great location and a great breakfast buffet! For 6 Euros extra a day, my wife and I had one of our two meals a day. Some decent entertainment most days.

Not 4 stars would make 2 stars in Ireland

Rubbish hotel definitely not 4 stars! 2 stars at best!
Breakfast was terrible they had a Spanish omelette out on the hot counter looked nice and was only thing that looked edible! it was ice cold in middle had to microwave to heat it but it was horrible day two wasn’t any so just had toast. The chef can’t even cook eggs he makes one side and leaves the raw on a plate and when asked a question to actually cook and egg he was rude!! The room was crap booked a quadruple room paid full price for 4 and got a double bed and a pull out bed for our stay in a double room!!! We had a baby and asked where the kettle was in our room they offered us a kettle for €2.50 rental I actually thought it was a joke but it’s seriously a charge. The only plus it is near the Port Adventura but definitely not worth the money there may be better in salon that offers a shuttle bus to the park.

I couldn’t recommend this place at all only If stuck and for heavens sake don’t even bother adding breakfast if have to book its disgusting

Very nice hotel in a quieter area of Salou. A 10 minute walk to the beach. Staff were lovely and more than helpful. Nice pool with a spa as well. Entertainment provided for the children. Breakfast buffet not so bad either.

The location made it super easy for us to walk to PortAventura within minutes, also to the beach and town centre. Family friendly and good facilities.
The breakfast lacks fruits, they offer a lot of fried items but very little in the healthy side.

For the price we paid to stay for a week you couldn’t fault it. Hospitality staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It’s location to both PortAventura and the beach also make it ideal, 10 minutes from both. Rooms although basic were more than adequate, maybe modernising them should be a priority for the future.

The stay started badly with the attitude of the receptionist (Natasha) being very aggressive and even losing her temper as she booked us in. She had no patience and did not understand we were tired after a long drive. This hotel is for families and is therefore very noisy and busy. The rest of the staff were very good and helpfull. It is on the outskirts and a good walk to the centre. There is secure underground parking but we were stuck inside because the system for letting us out failed. The bedrooms were very noisy with the loudest banging doors I have ever heard. Not good first thing in the morning. Food was good but very noisy in the restaurant. Not a place for couples and not for us.

Family holiday in Salou

Great location to both Port Aventura and main pedestrian area with restaurants and shops. As a family of 7 we were given 4 rooms next to each other which was great and we asked for quiet rooms which were overlooking Port Aventura rather than a pool area so they were nice and quiet. Outside area was very nice with a huge pool, pool bar and many sun loungers. Food was ok, sometimes hot, sometimes barely warm but with different dishes every day which was great as we had HB and in many hotels, including 4 and 5* we found food very repetitive. Rooms very spacious and service at the desk and during food service was pretty good. Out of all 4* hotels we stayed in, Sol Costa Daurada seems bit basic and outdated but we found it much handier than for example Dorada Palace in which we stayed few times. Overall if one does not expect luxury, I would recommend the hotel as it's nice enough and very handy. Also you can buy Port Aventura tickets at the reception at the same price as on the website (for example when bought in the hotel, 3 day 3 parks adult ticket was €76.50, where at the park it was €95, like for like)

Great hotel, have stayed here twice previously. However some staff in the restaurant during this stay were quite rude and abrupt. Plates for dinner not very clean. Bedrooms, communal areas and pool clean. Good location and reception staff very friendly and helpful as are bar staff.

We enjoyed the hotel. It was the perfect location for Port Aventura. The beach was also walking distance. Everywhere was kept very clean. The food was good- they cater to a lot of nationalities and there was lots of choice. The food was always hot and presented well. The only slight negative was that our air conditioning didn’t work. They sent someone to check who said he would get an engineer to fix it the next day. When I checked the next day reception said they didn’t know why we had been promised this as all the air conditioning was off this time of year (it was hot though!!) Overall this was a lovely hotel and we’d stay again.

Great location for Port Aventura parks

Staff are friendly and helpful, location for beach is about 15 mins walk away as is Port Aventura. There's a rep in reception most mornings if you haven't pre-booked.
Rooms are ok and clean, restaurant food was ok with plenty of selection. I thought there could have been more local/Spanish options.
Taxi is a standard price, both ways and worht it for 4 or more people.

Hotel was OK but too remote from town with not enough entertainment to make up for being so far away.

Childrens paddling pool is right next to the deep end of the main pool with no barrier. Children's playground was very small and out of site round the back of hotel, its fenced but climable and was next to main road so have to be very careful with the kids.

Hotel staff were very nice, no fault there.

Only entertainment (with the exception of one night) was a kids entertainer who did the same routine each night. It was out of season but still thought there would be more going on as hotel was still very busy.

Everything was ok with the room. Clean comfortable, and spacious. It had a shower, bidet, bath, balcony and air-con. All the staff were really nice. Our only caution was dinner, it may have been a bad day. Dried up, hard, over salted, rubbery potatoe salad. I saw tables had plates stacked up and a lot of wasted food. Ok it was a buffet and you could help yourself to anything but we really felt it wasn’t worth €15 + drinks each many people getting water. Breakfast was better but with people using bowls for coffee there was a wait just to eat cerial, having to keep looking for a bowl.

Room was very clean and functional. Beds were comfortable and even the sofa bed had a nice and comfortable mattress. Fridge was empty which is great for filing up with your own food and drinks. Location is very convenient for Portaventura which is 15 minutes walk away. Also convenient for the beech and high Street area. We were half board, both breakfast and dinner were good. We would have preferred more vegetarian options however. Overall a nice place to stay.

Great location to theme park 15 min walk could see rollercoaster from room. Slightly further from beech but still walkable we like walking so suited us. Is about 30 min walk away if you taking your time. Great for families, good entertainment for the kids they loved it! Food wasn't the best for the kids, anything covered in breadcrumbs avoid! Chicken nuggets full of grissle, not real meat fish nuggets the same. Kids struggled to eat while there we were half board. Ideal to rest after theme park.

Not a 4* by any stretch of the imagination

This is just not a 4* hotel. There is an overwhelming feeling of cost-cutting and profit maximisation taking precedence over guest satisfaction The rooms are clean, but very basic: watered down shampoo attached to the wall, beds that are so flimsy they slide across the floor, and no kettle in sight (seriously?). A safe was present but not usable, as it was just the shell with the lock removed. The breakfast buffet was fairly extensive, but all made with cheap, low-quality ingredients throughout. The orange juice was the worst I've ever had at a breakfast buffet, watered down beyond recognition. The indoor pool and spa area (a reason we chose this hotel) demands that you wear a swimming cap, however you must buy a non-refundable 3 Euro swimming cap to enter - a cost which is nowhere to be seen on the hotels.com description at time of booking. It is not the extra cost itself that annoyed me, but rather the underhand attempt to squeeze extra money out of guests, rather than being upfront with these additional costs; had I known, I would have brought a swim cap, or chosen another hotel.
The staff did not ask how our stay was upon check-out, presumably because they know the place isn't up to scratch. If you want an easy stay within walk of PortAventura for 1 or 2 nights, this will suffice (we had rooms on the front with a great view from the balcony of the park) but this place is not fit for any other purpose. How it achieves a 4* rating is beyond me.

Great location nestled in between the beach and Portaventura with a 15 minute walk in each direction. If going to Portaventura go at night as it's quieter with less waiting times. Pool was great with lifeguard and a kids pool for toddlers. The hotel rooms were very clean and all the staff were pleasant and well presented. The entertainment and kids club weren't up to much but music stopped at 12 so good for kids sleeping. With regards to food there was always something available to eat as the buffet has a lot of dishes which get rotated as the week goes on. However it would have been good to have a kids section with pizza and chicken nuggets available every night for fussy eaters. But if you fancy a change I'd recommend the Guinness tavern, it was the best meal of our holiday just a shame we found it on the last night!

We had a nice stay just before peak season. Pool area was nice with enough sunbeds. Nice walk to center and almost same walk to port aventura. Close to port aventura train station/stop.
Down side were sounds that were heard from corridor during every night. Not even 1 night without someone rolling their luggage, returning from bar & having conversation on corridor. Otherwise nice and relaxed surroundings.

We really enjoyed our 10 day stay at this hotel. The location is very good being a 10 minute stroll to the beach. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean and the food choice is excellent. You won't go hungry. This was our second visit and we wouldn't hesitate going again.

We have used this Hotel in the past and unfortunately our visit on 20/25th April 2015 was not what we were accustomed too from this Hotel, The Hotel itself, was/is, quite a nice hotel, the rooms and housekeeping were adequate, it now appears that it has become part of an All inclusive feeder Hotel to Port Aventure Theme Parks. The Hotel was very busy for the time of year and was occupied by a considerable amount of school children on trips, also a lot of families with children who were going to the theme parks. The entertainment for evening 9pm till 11pm was basicaly for the kids, the area off the main reception was being used for this purpose when a night club in the basement was left closed. This spoilt the areas around the reception lounge areas due to noise and activity. The restaurant food was of a poor standard and was not being kept Hot in the Bain Maries which are used for the food presentation. The restauarant was very busy and the waiters and waitres's were overworked which meant tables were not cleared quickly between courses. I guess that this Hotel is o.k. for a cheap holiday if you have kids and are booking the theme parks as well. We doubt we will be using it again.But perhaps we just had a bad experience!

The hotel was very good: very clean, fabulous breakfasts and dinners with plenty of choice, very courteous and friendly staff (except for the lady who checked us in when we arrived; she was only courteous but not friendly). We got a bedroom with 3 twin beds, and I would have preferred a family room. The shuttle bus to the beach and to Port Aventura was not working for two days when we were there, so we walked to those places. The weather was not hot, so the walk was fine for us, but in hotter weather, it might not be too comfortable the walk.
It takes about 17 minutes to walk from the hotel to the theme park, and about the same to walk to the beach.

Very nice hotel with very friendly staffs.

We stayed there for 5 nights and overall we are very pleased with everything. The food was lovely and they had so much options to choose from. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The evening entertainments was really lovely. But would have preferred if the spoke more English for the guests that do not spoke Spanish. I loved the fact that the hotel offers free shuttle bus services to the beach and also to the portaventura theme park. All in all very happy and we hard a wonderful time.

We had a fantastic holiday. The hotel was excellent, situated just 10 mins taxi drive from Reus. It cost 29Euros to get to the hotel, a little more on the return trip. The beach was only a 10 min walk or you could take the free bus. Port Aventura was also a 10 min walk away or free bus. Opposite Port Aventura is the train stop where you can catch the train into Barcelona, it takes 1 1/2 hours. Supermarkets and shops are within 5 mins walk of the hotel.
The food in the hotel is excellent with lots to choose from , some of the meat and fish is freshly cooked in front of you. There is a 3 hour time slot for breakfast and dinner so there is plenty of flexibility when to go. The staff are very friendly and helpful, most speak very good English. Everyday bedrooms are cleaned and tidied.
There is a very good pool with an area for water polo etc. Around the pool are ample sun beds and chairs. Children's entertainers work all day organising activities. A variety of nationalities stay at the hotel , predominantly Spanish, English and French. Entertainment is aimed at pleasing everyone. We thought the 3 piece band that played a range of rock and pop covers were brilliant. It was a shame they had to end their set early because of a rain shower. If the hotel had a cover over the stage and seating area this would not have been a problem as it was still warm. We wouldn't particularly recommend the entertainers \"Hollywood Nights\" !
We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Located close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Perfect for a relaxing holiday. Hotel is very clean and the buffet gives an excellent choice of food. Helpful staff. Daily free shuttle bus service for getting to the beach and shops. Evening entertainment is ideal for families with young children not so much for adults and couples.

Nice Hotel, Handy Location

Set st the back of the town this hotel benefits from a quiet location, which for us was ideal, yet it is very convenient for walking into town or a stroll up to PortAventura theme park. The theme park is around a 15 minute amble from the hotel and we made full use of it having bought 7 day 2 park tickets before we travelled. We visited the theme park 5 times and the Costa Caribe water park twice.

The town of Salou is good with some nice little bars and restaurants and plenty of souvenir shops, although my wife felt there was a lack of \"normal\" shops to engage in a bit of retail therapy. The sea front and promenade are really nice.

The hotel was kept very clean and the rooms were a good size and comfortable. We went on a Half Board basis and the food for breakfast and evening meal was plentiful, fresh and constantly topped up if a little samey. We found the staff very friendly and engaging. The pool was a good size and well looked after with enough sun beds for everyone.

Overall we enjoyed this holiday and our first experience of booking through Expedia.

Having stayed their last year we decieded to book the same hotel again. We took the half board option and had notified the hotel in advance that my husband and I were vegetarians. Meals were either not prepared or were not vegetarian. Receptionists were often rude and had to ask for our room to be cleaned. Great location for theme park but will be trying a different hotel next time.

My wife, daughter, son-in-law, grandson (6yrs old) and I stayed for 7 nights from 1st May. The check-in etc went like clockwork. Within 30 mins of arriving we were in our rooms, unpacked and in the dining room for our evening meal. The ladies who greeted us and attended to us in the dining room were great and treated our grandson like a long lost family member. They became his new 'friends'.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found all the staff we encountered to be friendly and polite and they were prepared to go out of their way to be helpful.
The checkout time is 12 noon, but our flight home wasn't until 7-00pm. The lady on reception booked our taxi to the airport the day before we left. She then informed us that we could leave our luggage in the secure room behind the reception, use the hotel facilities during the afternoon of our departure and use the the facilities in the spa if we wished to take a showere before leaving. They couldn't have been more obliging.

For what we paid the price was an absolute ' steal'. We're looking forward to going again soon

The room was very satisfactory but being near a major children's theme park, the hotel was very noisy with children running in the corridors at all times of the night. Disappointing!

Great Hotel Spoilt By Nasty Receptionist

I've stayed in this hotel many times and the rooms, facilities and the food are always excellent. My trip this time was marred by a haughty receptionist named 'Natasha' who was less than courteous with a query of the board basis of my booking. Although I had upgraded from bed and breakfast to half board, and I had a confirmation email to prove it, she refused to accept my confirmation and insisted I had only made a b&b booking, refusing my request for dinner at the hotel, as I had paid for. On my arrival, I noted this particular staff member being unnecessarily rude and unhelpful with another guest. I will try other 4 star hotels in the area until Nasty Natasha has had the push. Hopefully that will be before my next trip!

not sure who gives out the star ratings but a 4 star hotel!!! Think travelodge with a pool. Sorry but not good enough. Rooms too small especially for a family of four, we booked a family room but basically all rooms are the same size, they just cram extra beds in. Cleanliness couldnt be faulted though. The breakfast buffet was disgusting, the cheapest ingredients dripping in oil. After the first breakfast we skipped it from then on. Staff on reception, one girl in particular, bad mannered, rude and ignorant. For front of house staff not acceptable. Thank goodness we were only there for 3 nights otherwise we would have checked out and gone elsewhere

Aircon didn't work well enough.

Aircon didn't work. Not good enough for a hotel claiming to be 4* - sort it out!
Salou was ok but pretty soul-less. Built up in the 80s with mostly apartment blocks - little in the way of bars/restaurants/shops etc.
Lots of English speaking people there, the kids made friends every day.

Wouldn't go back, just far too expensive for what you got.

Excellent location in Salou

This hotel is in an excellent location for walking to local attractions and the beach, Although there is a free shuttle service if you really want it.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. We had problems getting from the airport with a delay by our Driver (another story) but they kept a meal for us at 1am. They also checked on our vehicle the following week.
The hotel is spotlessly clean!
food was very good...something for everyone, and varied each day
Pool area was very good, and clean
Evening entertainment was not bad. Depends on your level of expectation. I thought the children's programme was very good.I was certainly entertained! The hotels interpretation of Grease was hysterical, although I'm not sure it was meant to be.
If you have a room facing the pool then you will hear everything right up until the stroke of midnight when everything stops!!
You really have to embrace the experience that is a holiday in a hotel. Not for everyone if you just want peace and quiet.
No English TV, so be aware if you cant live without it.
Free Wifi, but can be a little erratic...I found best link in the bathroom.
If this is your sort of holiday, then you cant go wrong with this hotel.
I certainly had a happy 13 year old

Perfect for Port Aventura and Salou

Fantastic hotel, ideally positioned halfway between the Port Aventura theme park and the centre of Salou. Every member of staff we dealt with was friendly and helpful, with Rosa in the dining room getting a special mention - amazing service. The room wasn't overly large but it was very comfortable for three of us, and kept very clean throughout our stay. I honestly can't fault this hotel - location, staff, facilities and food were all excellent.

Great Location

On first impression, the hotel was very nice, but the staff were not very helpful. We arrived around midday, but the room wasn't ready until 2pm. The receptionist wasn't very pleasant about it, she just said come back at 2. I had no idea what I was to do for 2 hours with lots of luggage & 3 children. We had to sit in reception, and try to entertain them there. I wasn't impressed. We got our room at 2pm. It was ridiculously small. I had rang ahead to confirm a family room was suited to 2 adults & 3 children, 1 an infant. They confirmed it was. It certainly was not. I was told there were 4 twin beds in the room, with the option of a cot. There was 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed. I went back to reception to tell them I had been assigned the wrong room. She said it was a family room, and they were all the same size. Had they not deducted money from my credit card up front I would not have stayed. We managed for the 10 days but it was very uncomfortable. We stayed on a half board basis. The food was lovely, and the dining room staff were very friendly. The entertainment was very poor, and mostly provided by the animation team. They worked really hard, but I would have expected something a little more professional. The hotel is a 10 min walk to Portaventura, which was really handy, and 10 mins in the opposite direction to the beach. Overall my stay wasnt bad, but I wouldnt return.

good option

the hotel is a 10m walk from the beach (other hotels are only a few minutes closer, so don't worry about trying to get much closer). there is parking right along the road which was nice. the AC worked, which for me was most important. the pool area is nice as well (except it closed at 7! what's up with that??!!) they had some night activities too (in july) which was great. i imagine this hotel is about on par with the few around it

Great hotel for family, but noisy

The hotel was just as others had described it. We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel was clean, and the staff (esp the dining staff) were very friendly, but the hotel rooms and corridors were VERY noisy. You could everything going on outside your bedroom door, and we both slept with earplugs. The food was varied and plentiful, but my husband enjoyed it more than I. As some others had said, there was a lot of things cooked in oil, and I am a pickier eater than him. Would I stay again - yes, but in low season. I can't imagine how busy, or noisy it must get from May onwards. I would recommend this hotel, as it's a great location, very clean and the food was nice. But you must bring earplugs and be prepared for loud people in the night.

facilities seem fine, similar to all these big hotels, but there is no carpeting anywhere, so soundproofing is pretty poor and little noises are magnified.Rrubbish bar menu but have seen the same one in other hotels

Great family hotel with great food!

We recently returned from an enjoyable 5 night stay. Most reviews on web were positive and we were pleased that the hotel lived up to our expectations. Food was great with plenty of choice and changes made to main dishes served each day. Lots of choice for breakfast too.

Hotel seemed to have a few too many rules and regulations but I guess this goes with the territory. Be aware that even strong 11 y.o swimmers must be accompanied in the indoor pool, and swimming caps are mandatory for all in this pool.

On the whole, would we come back to Salou, and Sol Costa? Yes - thoroughly enjoyable.

lovely hotel not far from town

We loved this hotel..all staff were so nice, especially the lady greeting us each day for our meals...always smiling.It is lovely and spacious and cool from the spanish sun.
The pool area is great..my 9 year old son had a ball..and it was so relaxing.
The choice of food was great..we were half board and got half price deal of 291e for 4 nights which was brillant..it wasnt out of this world food but thats to be expected with buffet,but the staff were constantly refilling food trays and really work hard.

The only niggles we had was that we had put up do not make up room on door but maid still came into room and just remade our old sheets, no change and no new loo roll..just tightened sheets to bed when we had them pulled back to air them anyway..there was no point in her visit.
and also the entertainment was geared towards the spanish visitors..hardly any english so we got a bit lost with that.

But that did not stop us having a great time in salou..it is a great hotel..and close enough to town without the madness..just turn right when come out of hotel and follow road to town..10-15 mins stroll..its a nice walk in the sunshine..there is also a lil train to take you around salou outside hotel..3euro per adult and 1.50 per child and thats a lovely ride around.
Its a real family hotel with no messers...loved it..and would return.

Food was very good, Dining room&cleaning staff very nice & efficient but reception staff not as pleasant. Some broken glass at toddler pool for 2/3days before all fragments were picked up. Bedrooms & corridors immaculately clean. Floors 2&3 get the entertainment noise up to midnight. Nice indoor pool&Jacuzzi have to pay additional for saunas. Would go back

Best mussels in the world!

It is a nice hotel, although it a little bit of walk to the centre and to the beach. The buffet dinner and breakfast was amazing. Best mussels we`ve ever ate in our life!!!!! We would go back anytime!!!

First: we wanted a hotel in Tarragona, and this is totally in another city.And far from center and beach.
Second: it says air-conditioner- it doesn't mean it works- to say the whole truth it worked, but on hot, with 28-30 degrees c. outside we neede the cool side and it didn't work (they said it was on progress of changing from hot to cold) (of course it didn't help)
Third: noise like in a youth hostel (not the price of one, though), a group of youngsters were kicking ball in the corridor, shouting to each other and slamming doors like in a football match.
But to be fair: the food was great for all tastes and all countries, lot of variety and good service in the dinning room.

Sol Costa Daurada - best of both worlds

This was a fantastic place to stay. There was free transport to the theme park, and it was nice and quiet at night. On the flip-side, it was not a long walk at all to restaurants, the beach, and the party scene. We felt safe walking back at night, and all the staff were lovely and very professional. I would definitely return

Sol Costa Daurada - Excellent service and quality

Hotel was comfortable, clean, bright, close to everything salou has to offer and run by staff who couldnt do enough for you. We stayed during volcanic ash disruption and were forced to book and extra 7 nights accommodation. This was handled by the staff professionally and efficiently. Food was also of a very high standard, and suitable for all of my party.
No complaints whatsoever and would definately return here.

Costa Daurada's impressive hotel

Ryan air was efficient and excellent.2 miles from a sandy beach.Enjoy Payela in front of the spanish sunset.Clean Hotel. The card keys to the room door did not work on the first day but once we got a new card at reception we were fine. Enjoyed our breakfast and dinner. Buffet style!!! Lots to food to choose from. We stayed for 2 nights and the menu was changed on each day which was good. The good thing was you can book your airport shuttle upon arrival at the airport (around €11 return per person) from the bus stop outside the airport arrival building. They speak English and will write down your return details including your hotel and the shuttle bus will pick you up from the front of your hotel on your return journey. Excellent massage and indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Take a swimming cap or you will have to pay for it even for guys. Hygiene conscious hotel. Staff not on your face with lots of kids activities such as table tennis games room.The environment is very green with hundreds of hotels around.Enjoyed spain!

Perfect base for Port Aventura and not too far from beach

My wife and i stayed there for 2 days whilst we went to Port Aventura theme park, we found it the perfect base for this and also that the beach was only 10-15 mins walk from the hotel. The hotel also lays on a free bus that transports you to either the beach or the theme park and brings you back. The hotel was very well equiped with gym,pool,sauna etc. and all the staff were very helpful with any needs we had. The food was of a good standard but i found a little cooler if you got from the main buffet part. The room was very nice but i found the mattress uncomfortable...although my wife didnot. All in all i would return to the hotel without a second thought...TOPS MARKS TO YOU ALL AT THE HOTEL!!!!
