⭐ 1/5 – Very Disappointing Stay

My experience at Venus Beach Hotel was extremely unpleasant. A staff member named Sofia spoke to me rudely at breakfast when I politely asked where the cutlery was. She told me I “cannot sit over that side” and then publicly commented that I needed to “dress properly,” even though I had a blouse over my bikini and was never told about any dress code. I would have happily abided by any dress code. It was humiliating and made me uncomfortable returning to breakfast for the rest of my stay.

Reception staff were also rude and dismissive. We had to ask three times for our room to be cleaned after ordering room service, only to then be told we were supposed to call room service ourselves to collect dishes - information no one mentioned beforehand.

Some restaurant staff were kind, but overall the poor attitude from others made us feel unwelcome. As the only people of colour in the hotel, the difference in how we were treated was noticeable and uncomfortable.

Would not recommend based on this experience however they have great amenities. Great area to stay but avoid Venus!

Poor facilities for a so called 5 star. Gym & sauna closed all season. Check out supposed to 11am but ckeaning staff were in room at 10am whilst we were at breakfast & threw all our toiletries away. Not a freat stay & woukdnt recommend

1-Star Experience at a Falsely Advertised 5-Star Resort
This hotel is a severely outdated, run-down relic, falling short of three-star standards. It is the opposite of luxury.
Hygiene & Maintenance is Dire: The room had unacceptable hygiene issues; I woke up with numerous bites all over my body, and the bathroom grout was covered in mold. The shower was broken, and staff refused to fix it, claiming the hotel was full. Common areas were stained, and the cheap plastic sun loungers had never-cleaned crash mats.
All-Inclusive is a Scam: Avoid the all-inclusive package. It covers only an estimated 10% of the menu, forcing excessive fees, and drinks are significantly overpriced. Crucially, my partner suffered violent food poisoning on day two, requiring us to eat off-site for the rest of the trip.
Hostile & Restrictive Management: Service was universally rude, driven by visibly low-morale staff. When trying to bring outside food (due to illness), the manager and security guard were aggressively confrontational, citing a ridiculous small-print rule forbidding outside food in the room. This hostile enforcement made the stay feel like a restrictive institution, not a hospitality experience.
Final Verdict: This property lacks basic cleanliness, service, and value. With widespread fly issues, non-existent entertainment, and price gouging (€10 towels, €30 sunscreen), guests seeking a relaxing stay should absolutely look elsewhere. A truly awful experience.

Main let down despite room being clean and tidy it was right above the entertainment and with a broken patio door ( held on by screw) was very noisy till 3-4 am some nights
So lovely view , pool , staff friendly just 448 was a terribly noisy room if not a night time person

Great location, but not a 5-star experience

Definitely not a 5-star property — it feels a little tired and could use some TLC. The pool experience was rather unusual: the attendant kept a stack of neatly rolled “display only” towels, while guests were directed to take unfolded ones from a laundry basket nearby. I’ve never seen that before, not even at my gym. He was also quite rude to guests, often speaking to them in a condescending way that made people feel uncomfortable. I even witnessed him explaining to one guest that the folded towels were “display only, like at a watch shop,” before adding, “next time bring your wife — she understands more English.” I was stunned.

The front desk experience was also disappointing. The receptionist with brown hair came across as quite rude and unhelpful — even when I politely asked if she could dispose of a small dress tag, she told me to use the bin outside the hotel entrance, despite there being a bin directly next to her. It felt unnecessarily dismissive.

On the positive side, the location is excellent — right by the beach and next to one of Paphos’s main attractions, the Tombs of the Kings. Milena, the hotel manager, was the most helpful staff member I encountered; she ensured I got my beach towel deposit back and was genuinely pleasant to deal with.

Nice location and a decent hotel. A few things could be improved. The food is really not good and it is repetitive. My biggest complaint is the pool chairs. Not enough in the shade and they are all reserved but not occupied. If you don’t get up early and claim a chair, you are out of luck. Hotel really needs to change their policy to prevent this. Also the clunky process to get a pool towel and pay a 10 euro deposit is insulting and unnecessary

Very good hotel with nice swimming pool, staff were excellent. If you like a lovely walk, the seafront walk along the promenade to the harbor in 30-40mins for a bit more lively wine and dine, harbor protected area good for a bit of swimming and snorkeling also highly recommended if you like some history the Nea Paphos UNESCO Archaeological Park with well-preserved Roman ruins with mosaics. Hotel is perfectly located for amazing sun sets and Venus beach on the door step, one of the best beach areas, you can see a few fish off the rocks if you like to snorkel not amazing but there are one or two fish to see and right next to Tomb of the Kings, also short buss ride or drive to coral beach in the next cove down and the Old Town is not to far away, it is walkable if you like walking. Very Good!

The room was nice, but nothing was fully clean. Housekeeping did not hoover in the shower or change bedsheets when they were full of sand. Because I was by myself, I could live with it just fine but it is bot reflective of their 5 start status. There were pre existing stains on the linen and some on the soft furnishings. The sofa was nice but someone had a lot of fun on it, and the marks remained to tell the story. Beach towels were stained too. For a 10€ deposit, I expected a bit more cleanliness. Once housekeeping left the door to my balcony open. I did not the do the full board, and I was very happy with my decision. Food was okay, but nothing to write home about. All in all my stay was pleasant, but nothing to rave about.

The hotel was not operating fully as the gym and in door pool was not available.
The staff were friendly but the rooms were not cleaned property. Dusty on floor and in drawers.

The menu for children was very repetitive spaghetti bolognese, fish fingers or chicken dippers.

The chef could have been more friendlier in dishing out the meat dishes.

The pool was great and appeared to be cleaned every day.

This hotel is not a 5 star as advertised. The hotel is dated and needs a revamp. The hallways to get to room need to get painted, very bad shape. One thing in particular I didn’t like was having to put a 40 euro deposit to get 4 pool towels, and it had to be cash. The indoor pool was out of service. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly.

Not a 5 star hotel or experience. Hotel looks tired and staff are unhelpful and almost annoyed at being asked anything. We ordered room service and the order was accepted but not delivered and when chased was told that room service had finished at 10pm, despite order being placed before that.
Towels are rationed strictly and deposit needed for each one. House keeping sloppy and inconsistent.
Strict rationing of room keys. €70 charged for late check out. We won’t be staying here again.

I was very disappointed with my stay. The staff were consistently rude, which made the experience quite unpleasant. The room was not clean and looked outdated, especially the bathrooms, which were in poor condition.

Although I paid for an all-inclusive package, I was still charged for basic items like coffee, ice cream, and bottled water. We were also only allowed access to one restaurant, and the food offered was limited in variety and quality. There were no proper options for vegetarians or those who require halal food, which was frustrating and unacceptable for an inclusive service.

Additionally, there were no activities provided for children around age 10, making it unsuitable for families with older kids.

Overall, this is not a 5-star experience and I would not recommend it.

Please believe the other reviews when they say that this is not a 5* hotel, so if you are hoping for luxury aesthetics and luxury service, you will not get that here. The hotel overall is dated, the room had stains in the curtains and walls, dust on the room phone, in the vents. There was no extractor in the bathroom nor a window. They only give you a bottle of water on the first day and thereafter, water costs 6.50 euro. Houskeeping did a good job at refreshing the room each day, but overall the room can never be classed as 5*. There were good facilities i.e. a free tennis court and the beach front location is what made me not rate this a 0/5. The other facilities i.e. games room and gym, again, were extremely poor in terms of aesthetics. Lastly, the breakfast. This was the worst breakfast i've ever had in a hotel and was absolutely not 5* standard. With 5* hotels, I am used to the hotel staff taking your drink order but here, you have to line up at the coffee machine or juice machine and that is literally all you get in terms of drink options. The coffee was so bad that I had to pour it away straight away. The apple juice was incredibly sweet that I again couldn't drink it. They do not cater for diverse dietary requirements. We had breakfast once on the first day (we just had eggs and beans as they do not have anything for people who do not eat pork), and then thereafter we never ate in the hotel again because the options were just so disappointing.

From the moment we arrived and the very last minute we left the hotel, my family and I have most memorable holiday. The location of the hotel couldnt be better. From the lively attentive reception staff, to room staff, to bar staff ( our most favorite Suzie and Barbi) to the pool attendent (joe), all went out of their ways not only to serve but also have a mingle, guide us. etc. Our bolt drivers, to people in the restaurants across the road and in main town were so so friendly and helpful. We will be returning to Venus beach hotel asap . Thank you

Very nice setting and good room. But for a 5 star hotel not to have a freezer where you can refreeze your ice packs overnight is not right. The fridge in the room was only cold enough. Nice stay since it is the beginning of the season, so not crowded at all. Too bad the spa is not open yet.

This is a frustrating hotel. It could be a five star hotel but it felt like whoever runs it hasn't been to an actual five star hotel. They should walk 10 minutes down the road to Elysium to see how they can improve.

The positives: The pool area is lovely. The rooms are clean. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is well located to Paphos. I walked to the harbor and it was a lovely 40 minute walk along the beach.

The negatives: Music is blasted every night until 11p. My room was on the 4th floor in the center of the hotel and the music was so loud in my room I couldn't even watch the television in the room. I am all for evening entertainment but I should have the option of when I am done with it. It felt like I was being held hostage to that evening's entertainment. The other negative is that to get towels for the poolchair you have to pay a 10 euro deposit in cash. For those of us who live in 2025 and are cashless this means there's no way to get a towel. I tried to use my bath towel from my room and the pool attendant came over, apologized in advance, and then physically took the towel away. The pool chairs are plastic and get very hot so I had to lay on a hot plastic chair. The management should go to the Four Seasons, Elysium, or any other \"five star\" hotel and see if they do that.

There's a lot of potential here but they need to class the place up a bit to compete.

The hotel advertised it had a gym and spa however the gym was a bike and cross trainer and some weights in a conference room and there was no spa. The beach is lovely but not attached to the hotel so you need to pay for sun loungers and umbrellas, they are great quality and much better than those at the hotel pool

We had a really pleasant stay. We only had ned and breakfast. We had a hire car to commute, and there was plenty of parking underground for our duration.

The pool was lovely, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. It’s also close to a lovely beach.

The only gripes are that not all facilities were available, for instance the gym was out of bounds. But all in all it was good.

We really enjoyed our stay at Venus Beach Hotel. Location was amazing, as there were many restaurants, bars nearby, and you can walk to the Paphos Harbour, into the town, explore the nearby caves, Tombs of the Kings, ...and walk for miles up and down by the sea. The closest Venus beach was nice and sandy too.
Hotel was clean and well looked after, with lovely pool area and bar. Our 5th floor sea view room was very spacious, with a huge bed and lovely balconie. We were half board, and we found breakfast (not late breakfast, as then all you can get is slices of cheese, fruit and some bread) and evening meal options were really good, with quite a variety of dishes and theme nights. Just a bit dissapointing that even water wasn't incded with the evening meal, which I feel is a must. Special thanks to some lovely, welcoming staff members like Ana at the bar, Maria in the dining room, and Ella in the reception, just to name a few - you all made our stay just that bit extra special! And thanks to the managment for the birthday shamphane gift as well, a welcome surprise!
There wasn't much of an entertainment at the hotel, but its probably because it wasn't season quite yet, still we wery much enjoyed one evening with live music we had.
Overall very nice, relaxing and pleasant stay.Thank you all!

This is not a 5 star hotel. Rooms are clean and have modern decor but some fittings are poor: bedside lights hanging off walls, no plug sockets by beside tables, lighting is questionable and walls are paper thin, we had to complain twice about excessive noise from room above which was not dealt with. Toiletries provided very poor quality and not regularly replenished. Housekeeping timings were a mess, our first day they didn’t arrive until 5pm (housekeeping times 10am-3pm), had to ask for extra towels, toilet roll left to run out. Vanity kit and shower cap not replaced once used. One bottle of water provided at the beginning of stay and never replenished. Breakfast choice is vast, however hot items are barely warm - if you want a freshly cooked omelette there is often a wait but this will be the only truly hot item. Coffee machines are poor. Juice is watered down, which is unacceptable for a 5 star establishment. Used the beachside restaurant once at lunchtime and found the menu to be quite limited. We stayed b&b so didn’t use the dinner service but understand only the buffet and beachside restaurant are included in all inclusive option - bit of a cheek to exclude other restaurants from that so if we’d opted for all inclusive we wouldn’t have been happy with this. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance and bus stop right outside the hotel. Also a Lidl across the road which is handy for lunches on the beach and replenishing the water not provided in the room!

We very much enjoyed our stay. Staff were lovely and made sure our requested room was provided. Room was basic but clean, quiet (important to us!), and modern, with a comfortable bed and great view. We would have liked to be able to adjust temperature down below 21C at night, but they offered us a fan which helped, especially as the weather turned cool. Liked having option of a softer pillow, even though it was kind of lumpy. Breakfast options were very good. Location is good for visiting the Tomb of the Kings, the Lidl across the street, and bus stop nearby.

If we had to comment about anything negative, some electrical outlets near the bed would be appreciated, as would a higher bracket for the hand shower so I could shower without getting my hair wet. A bit surprised that they only provide one bottle of water at arrival and none on subsequent days of a week long stay.

Altogether, we would very much recommend this hotel. It’s older, hallways a bit dated, but very comfortable.

I have stayed at The Venus resort a few times. This time, I felt that the service was excellent. From the young lady who checked me in, ( can’t remember her name), to Panayiotis, the porter, to Maria who took care of my room service orders and all the breakfast staff. Liked the additional hour of breakfast time 10-11am.

Although the condition for the resort internally was acceptable, the external areas require upkeep. I’m referring to the building. I noticed from the lower level outdoor breakfast area, looking up, that the building requires renovation, paint, and tiles that need to be restored. It’s an eyesore for a 5* resort. Also no 5* start property should offer packaged Nescafé coffee in the hotel rooms. Although I had a great time here, the views towards the ocean are incredible, I value this resort the most a 4* resort

Fabulous hotel, lovely breakfast and attentive staff. My room had a fantastic view of the Tombs of the Kings, and sea. Venus offers such a warm, inviting and relaxed atmosphere, which resonates with all age groups/travellers.

Quick access to the beach and great choice of amenities - although the gym was closed for refurbishment. Perfect view for admiring the sunset in the early evening. I'd absolutely stay here again when I visit Paphos and I have already recommended it to my family who frequently visit.

Generally, I found the hotel staff were attentive and courteous with an exceptional level of customer care. On arrival, I was still recovering from a recent illness and the gentleman whose name I have forgotten kindly arranged for my clothes to be ironed by the house keepers. I thought Ella (reception) was another super star and she kindly assisted me whenever I needed help, such as booking my excursion to Nicosia.

I'd absolutely recommend staying at Venus Beach Hotel.

Just an overnight stop. This is out of season so the hotel isn't full. The view is outstanding and the balconies on every room are angled to get the best views. The restaurant was open with a limited menu. We were the only ones in there. The staff made the effort to make us feel special and even though it was a snack menu managed to rustle up a typical cypriot desert for us. A very pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed for one night during off season. Hotel is fine but certainly not 5 star. Easy walk to Tomb of the Kings and the beachfront promenade. Breakfast is excellent with several options to suit most any taste. I wanted to go to Beer Belly in the evening (pub across the street) but was closed (off season yes, but Saturday night) so instead opted for hotel bar which was weak. I ordered a glass of Cypriot wine but server had no clue about label or grape. Biggest complaint is the shower. Very low pressure, difficult to control temperature and often will quickly blast very hot or very cold water. I complained about this at check out. Parking is limited too. Was nearly full despite off season (both outdoor parking and an undeground garage).

We really liked the hotel. It is located right next to tombs of kings in front of beach. Beach had a wave breaker, which makes it safe to swim. We had a beach front room, it was nice to enjoy the beautiful view. Room is spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of food to choose from. We would highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is well situated with recently refurbished clean rooms and good views. The hotel facilities were good and breakfast buffet offered a good choice. Parking was fine (although the barrier seemed unnecessary and some warning before arrival of how to get in would have been useful). The only thing that might put me off returning is the live music in the evenings - i quickly wrote off my chance of getting any sleep before 11pm - but I realise many people will appreciate the entertainment and/or be able to sleep through it.

The description and photos of the hotel are misleading and an incorrect representation of the hotel on Expedia. The hotel is not a luxury 5 star hotel, as stated in Expedia description. It is outdated, facilities are extremely poor, the rooms are dirty, ants were found in the room and on the beds on more than one occasion and that was after the hotel agreed to change the bed sheets and spray the room! The balcony was filthy. The air conditioning was so noisy we couldn’t leave it on at night but that didn’t make a difference as we could hear the neighbours air con! Avoid, Avoid, Avoid this hotel at all costs!!! I’ve stayed in better 3 stars than this hotel. So disappointed with the hotel, we left a day earlier. We requested a refund for the day we left early both the hotel and Expedia refused to offer a refund. Expedia has completely miss sold the hotel.

Wasn’t too clean the staff were quite rude and they didn’t allow us to check in on time. Whilst we were waiting to check in we saw that there was another customer complaining also about the room they were given and the cleanliness of the room. Staff were being rude at reception and told us to go and sit down whilst we were awaiting to check in as if they didn’t want to deal with us. Only good thing was the view from our hotel room especially at night with the sunset.

Amazing stay and friendly helpful staff. Cleaning staff at least the ones we had spoke only Russian which made it very difficult to communicate with them especially when we had missing towels or soaps overall it is a very pleasant stay, however certain parts of the hotel do need a bit of an upgrade but if I had to go to Paphos again I would rebook the Venus beach hotel. Before I forget Maria from the kids club, she's an angel that just fell out of heaven. My son adored her and we used to enjoy having a chit chat with her she is really sweet and dedicated. Well done

Beautiful waterfront hotel

Wonderful resort 4km from the harbor. Staff were all very nice and accommodating. Great, large pool with loads of lounge chairs. Beach is very nice and sandy. The grounds, excellent. I would recommend this resort to anyone, especially families, and couples. Stunning sunsets. Loved the large rooms with sea view balconies. Very comfortable beds!!!

Having said that, I have a few pet peeves:

1. Upon entering with car, it’s confusing on how to enter, until the car driver, driving out, informed us to press a black button to enter. I only imagine how many have had the same confused, problem. There is a small black box you almost can’t see ( on the right) to enter, it needs to have properly large signage.

2. Hotel lifts ( I already informed the front staff) most floor numbers have the lobby as 0. However the lobby is on level 2 ( in green). I can’t even count on how many people I came across, that were confused on where to get to lobby! Your lifts are running up and down unnecessarily and therefore you are waisting electricity. Simply change that button, to “Lobby” or place a lobby sign next to the green button.

3. The staff are all wonderful, but I don’t know how to recommend some of them by name. No one is wearing a name tag

4. Upon check in, we were given written instructions. They were on a photo copy, such bad quality and hardly illegibly. You are a 5 star hotel. These copies don’t even belong at a 2star hotel

The service of the staff was exceptional. Honestly went above and beyond. They remember your choices and are always willing to help. The area however has a lot of buildings under construction. The hotel and the beach are the best attractions here. Great for those wanting to just relax. Bus services however are regular and reliable

The hotel is in need to good repair work. The toilet holder did not hold the roll it kept falling off. When I checked in they gave me two mini soaps. During my entire stay, they were not replaced. On days fresh towels were not provided, and the tea and milk were not replaced. The bathroom needed some repair work. The only positive was Maria who worked in the dining department she was very friendly and welcoming with a smile every day. I was also very upset one day I was having my dinner and I had three small pieces of dessert. A chap with glasses, not a chubby one came and placed the bill for my drink on my table and commented oh you have taken one of each when I only had three. I found this very rude because on all the other days they waited until I had finished before giving me my bill. Most of the front desk staff were abrupt. I only found Ailona very helpful.

Great place to stay, but pool opening hours are too short. Only open between 10 AM to 6:30 PM. Such a shame specially during the summer where the sun doesn’t set until 8:30-9 PM.

We stayed at the hotel for a week HB, I updated them that we are getting married and have 4 more rooms for our guests and they did put the rooms close and brought us a bottle of wine Complimentary.
Georgi the bell boy was so nice and helpful, as well as Alona from guest relations and Maria in the dining room, they were caring and made sure we had a good time and tried to take care of every problem.
The pool is small but nice and clean, pool staff nice as well.
We were dissapointed about dinner, the first few days almost the same food exactly including left overs from the previous days, the bread wasn't fresh and the last days we ate outside the hotel.
some of the reception staff was not very friendly and one night woke us up at 1:30 AM saying the room next to us complained about noise when we were sleeping!
Ordering taxis through the hotel is cheaper, a few mins from the mall, aout 10 mins to the old town and 15 to the harbour.
All together we had a good time, speacial thanks to Georgi, Alona and Maria!

Our Venus Beach hotel overnight stay was great. Our room was spacious & very clean. The reception & restaurant staff were friendly & professional. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, it was well presented & great choice of freshly cooked food & a good variety of local fruit, cheeses & cold meats. Pool area looks immaculate & inviting. The hotel complex was very clean but needs a little TLC. Would definitely stay again!

The attitude at the reception and of the hotel staff is excellent, the food is varied but tasteless, we were seven people and no one liked the food. The cleanliness of the room was horrible, I happened to return to the room while the cleaning lady was cleaning the toilet and the sink with the towel that was on the floor, without cleaning agents. Really unprofessional and not recommended massage - my wife left in the middle and I stayed until the end due to discomfort. Excellent pool, good location, easy access to the sea. Not really a five star hotel.

Great staff & location- beautiful view directly on the beach. Guest relations Mgr Milena sees to your every need. Restaurant Mgr Mixhalis sees you are well taken care of at the generous buffets
with food for every taste. Lovely pool area with bar. Comfortable, spacious rooms- spotless like entire facility.Our fifth stay here in four years- that says it all!

Beach front hotel, big and lovely sea view

The staff at the receptionist very nice and friendly, also helpful with some directions and booking taxi.
The hotel room is big, comfy bed and lovely balcony with sea view.
The only downside was some towels a bit old, no more in nice white color.
