The hotel is right in the action, main road with the bars, restaurants etc on one side and the beach on the other. Very handy but very noisy, you can hear the music from the bars at night and all day the motors from the boats coming and going.
Hotel is rustic (basic).
Not the chilled beach hotel we thought but good if you want to be in the centre of everything and don’t want to get cabs.

Third time my wife and I have stayed at this hotel. Great location, just step out of the hotel and it’s less than 2 minutes walk to the beach. The staff are excellent and can’t do enough. The breakfast is good enough. I’d prefer a few more choices for breakfast but I’m happy enough with the offering. We have stayed in poolside rooms and non poolside rooms. The rooms are a little dated but we hardly spend any time in them so they are good enough for our needs. We have already booked to return for the 4th time.

We enjoyed our stay and in the main we were happy. A couple of areas that could use some improvement is the pool could do with easier access for elder people or those with mobility issues. Also lids for the bin in the toilet would be more hygienic.

We have returned to this hotel many times over two decades, so have seen many changes in and around the hotel and Krabi beach.
The breakfast buffet overlooking the beach and islands is undoubtedly its best feature. Friendly and willing staff come a close second, and the quiet secluded pool with well-established vegetation and palms wraps up its best points.
This is an old hotel and, despite recent revamps, still remains a bit tired - if you accept this flaw due to its longevity, then all the benefits can be enjoyed!
We will certainly stay again..

The location is perfect, right by the beach and near the long boat stops and easy to get everywhere from here… Ideal location. Outside of the hotel is very pretty but the rooms are very dated. Beds rock hard. Swimming pool does not really get any sunshine so great for sitting in the shade but not enough seating around the pool. Breakfast is also very limited - Pretty much Eggs & bread…but enough to start the day but go early as otherwise no tables left.

Don’t be fooled by the picture on the TV about the food that is not what you’re getting,, We ate dinner there once because I wasn’t feeling good to go out and the food was horrible

Wonderful and friendly service, smack in the centre of town yet quiet, breakfast facing the beach, mature landscaping, firm and comfortable bed and linens, reasonably priced, currently being upgraded. Except for some slippery and sharp-edged tiles, what’s there not to like?

We had a room on the first floor, street side so it was slightly noisy, but we were there for only 1 night. THe staff was friendly, but not very helpful when we needed directions around.

TL; DR: I HIGHLY recommend this property.

Location: Perfect, steps away from the beach, and a walking street. While the hotel is in a high-traffic walking area, I found the venue quiet and peaceful.

Staff: Accommodating and kind. Especially a woman named Hong (front desk staff). I had an issue with the safe box (the previous guest left it locked), and she came right away to fix it. They allowed me to leave my door key at the front desk whenever I went out.

Room: Beautifully decorated and clean. I enjoyed the layout and the balcony. The bed was so comfortable.I found the room quiet; however, you could hear some noise only if loud guests were outside in the hallway.

Bathroom: There is a separate room for the toilet and shower. Both were clean with hot water!

Pool: Wonderful. The perimeter around the pool had lounging chairs and a few hammocks.

Food: Two food spaces are adjacent, facing the beach.
Breakfast: Impressive. There were both Thai and Western options. They had an omelet and pancake station. There were also baked goods, bread to toast, yogurt, and fresh fruit.

Seperate Restauraunt: I think this is a separate business from the hotel. It offers various fruit shakes, coffee, and healthy food options. It's a bit pricey and is quite busy. Some people walk in off the street before they leave on a boat to head out to the islands.

I stayed two nights and tried to extend my stay because I liked it so much!

Great hotel in awful Ao Nang beach !!

Clean accommodation beds comfortable staff very friendly, we only stayed for a matter of hours as we arrived at 10pm and left at 8.30 so didn’t get to use the pool etc but I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area. The area on the other hand was horrendous.. cheap, nasty commercialised, cannabis shops every few yards smell everywhere was overwhelming.. I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
We were just in transit but in terms of the hotel it was excellent

This hotel is in the centre of Ao Nang right on the seafront. It's a lovely traditional Thai style hotel with wide shady verandahs. All rooms overlook the swimming pool. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfy. The buffet breakfast was varied and plentiful. The only problem was noise from the bar as the entertainment went on until after 2 a.m. making it difficult to get to sleep.

Good breakfast. Right at beach and night cafe bar has great live music. Toue boats are right at beach so a little more noise but great when want to explore the islands.

Considering its proximity to the beach and businesses this is probably one of the best locations in town. The room was interesting Lee and comfortably laid out with the balcony open to the street and the beach. Breakfast was quite good well laid out and completely sufficient. I could easily recommend this one again.

Best thing about this hotel is the location, right on the beach and central to restaurants bars and boats to other beaches.

Staff are lovely, bed was comfortable and although very central was not noisy at night. Bathroom could do with a makeover and the internet is extremely poor in the rooms although OK if you sit near reception. Overall good value for money for this hotel in great location in Ao Nang.

Good and bad points

We booked Phranang Inn for its amazing location. It was right near Ao Nang Beach and located at the junction of 2 very popular and 'happening' streets. Lots of halal restaurants which caters our needs with amazing (though pricey) food. There's also plenty of souvenir and tour shops and massage parlors to keep us occupied. Rich from reception was great and welcoming. Sam, the manager was also very friendly and helpful. She helped us when I was getting concerned the tour we booked had not arrived on time to pick us up. The staff are certainly are the best things about the hotel. Breakfast was OK, not much of a spread. I was disappointed the sausages were not halal as I thought the hotel serve halal food as Krabi has a high Muslim population, but this was our fault for not researching properly. The relatively poor score is mostly related to the room condition. The advertised photos made the room looked modern and amazing but I was sorely disappointed on arrival. The rooms are dark, with very dated decor and worn fittings and finishing. I'm sure for some people it adds to the charm, but for me it reminded me of my grandparents old 'kampung' house with wooden musty furniture and doors. The corridors to the room are also dated, sadly I feel this hardly justifies the price charged. I overheard another guest complaining about the hot water. The hot water does seem to vary in pressure and quite tricky to get the hang of, but I managed it OK and find it suffice.

Excellent location, but the place is a bit worn down. Worked well for our family. Desk staff does not speak English very well, causing some communication challenges. Did not care for the check out as the staff was going through our two rooms for several minutes trying to account for missing things like a cheap drinking glass, etc. While everything was eventually accounted for, for the amount of money we paid for this place you would think they wouldn’t be so cheap about stuff. The free breakfast was awesome, without a doubt the best part of our stay. Great place to be for vacation in Krabi

Phra Nang Inn is very well located near to ao nang beach where one has great accessibility to boat trips, great food as well as spas besides shopping. It is nostalgic, clean, great service, nice hotel owners (husband and wife), good selection of breakfast buffet, surrounded by nice pools within the hotel .. very tranquil, one could just lay by the pool or outside the room overlooking the pool and writing this review.

Very noisy. Could not sleep. Traffic noises, late night music, then loud garbage truck outside our window at 4am as well as poor A/C made it a terrible night. The food in the restaurant was awful also. The stale salad bar had insects all over it. We had to abandon the meal. We decided after 1 day to stay elsewhere. However the staff were embarrassed and did their best to sort things out for us so we got a credit for the Hot Springs sister hotel inland which we hope is better.

Nice hotel close to the beach and amenities, we stayed in the Deluxe Room with Pool Access and we liked it. Front Desk staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons: We had booked 4 rooms, 2 of which were triple sharing and had wrote to the hotel in advance, however the extra beds were not prepared on our arrival.The breakfast spread is too little and could be better. Staff at restaurant could be more friendly. The shower floods easily and mosquito situation needs to be improved.

Had a room facing the beach, it was a bit of an obstructed view (trees). Room was nice and spacious with a large bathroom (bath & separate shower). Towels were made into nice swans and flower petals across the bed. Tea/Coffee provided along with water. The property is adjacent to the beach, which was a very nice beach but it was a bit overcast when I was there. Hotel has it's own restaurant where breakfast is also served. Selection of hot food/cold food which was fine. Swimming pool within the grounds of the hotel. My room was at the end so my balcony was by the steps leading down to the pool/restaurant and access to the beach, I did not experience any noise. Great free wifi.

The hotel was a bit older and the pool had lots of shade, but the staff and location made up for it. You are very close to the best part of the beach and super close to shops, restaurants, etc. We rented scooters to explore the surrounding areas and even went to Krabie Town. Well worth it. I’d stay again.

Great staff, nice hotel and pool, only 50 feet from the beach, bus stop just outside hotel entrance, $6 a day motor scooters for rent nearby for short trips, nice beach. Only drawback is the sound from the boat motors nearby. The little boats have no mufflers so the sound in the area is, well, not quite like a major airport but more like a open pit mine. The motors must not be able to idle and must be constantly revved up like old motorcycles. The little boats will take you to other beaches and nearby islands but the sound follows them.

Location is great - next to boats, next to shops, next to beach. Rooms are comfortably big, each room has outdoor area with sofa, first floor rooms come with pool access. Hot water in a shower is hot :) breakfast has the basics. Overall good stay! Do take note that beach is not with smooth sand and high tide was only around 2pm which means in the morning sealine is shallow for quite far.

Room was big with a nice balcony. The bed was super comfortable and room was nice and clean! Loved the location, right by the beach and also has a nice swimming pool. There is a bar downstairs that has live music. I would def recommend this place. Only issue was the wifi wasn't working too well and there is no elevator , but it really wasn't a big deal.

We stayed in the hotel for 14 days we had a amazing time hotel is dated but i thought it added character to the hotel,if u want a 5* then this hotel is not for u, the bedding and towels were very clean,the shower was hot and spacious, the staff was so friendly and couldn't do enough for u and always had a smile .we had a small problem with or first room we just didn't like were it was they moved us thr next day as we were late arrivals,i would definitely recommend this hotel and will be definitely be staying here again

Staff not very personable, tired decor this hotel is original hotel - old, beds so hard and we requested a double - got two singles put together with two single duvets!!!!! Both of us have aching backs since trying to sleep on them, breakfast average - best thing about this place is the pool. Actually this hotel is expensive for what you get compared to other hotels in vicinity.

I had a really great stay in the Phra Nang Inn. It's in a great location in Ao Nang right on the beach and within walking distance to many other bars and restaurants in the area.

The hotel was very clean, the best thing about the hotel was the staff - very friendly and attentive. The hotel is slightly out-dated in terms of decor but I feel this is reflected in the price etc. The only criticism of the room is that the air conditioning unit took a long time to cool the room down.

The breakfast in the hotel was superb aswell as the food in the restaurant throughout the rest of the day and the beach bar that is attached to the hotel (reasonably priced drinks & live music each night).

You are able to book many tours through the hotel including island tours, kayaking, bike hire, and ferry tickets to Phi Phi, Phuket etc.

The Best Location in Ao Nang

We had a really nice stay in this hotel. The location is ideal. The beach and the long boat taxis are directly in front of the building.
We had a superior room. It was fairly spacious and comfortable. Hot water and air conditioning worked fine. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was silent from traffic and the bar noise. It did Lack space to hang up clothes, a wardrobe would have been nice.
Breakfast was very good with a nice selection. A lovely sea view while in the restaurant was an added bonus.
The hotel is a little dated but still functions well. The staff was always pleasant. There is a groovy bar which plays descent live music. This, however, could be a problem if your room is at the front of the hotel. I would certainly book this hotel again and would recommend it to a friend.

Great location near the beach. Perfect spot to be able to book a boat to go to the Phi Phi Islands. Lots of shopping near by.

Awesome place right on the beach

A really convenient hotel right on the beach. Close to shops and restaurants, and tons of tour companies for booking activities. Room was neat and clean. Breakfast had a good selection.

Close to town, clean, questionable value

The hotel is nice but but my room was right off the lobby so it had a little more noise. Not great value from what i have experienced over the last month but the staff were helpful and printed a ticket for me and the pool was great. Buffet breakfast was tasty and worth the extra money.

A perfect hotel for a relaxing time away. Great spot for walk on the beach and tourist strip. Hotel is amazingly quiet for being in an active neighbourhood.

Good location. Hotel room - a bit old furniture.

Overall the stay is good
The hotel is located at a good location. Buy all your package from the coner travel agent across the hotel..cheapest.! Never buy from the airport taxi agent..they charge double. Trust me!

The staff was very friendly and willing to help. The location was perfect, right on the beach. The hotel condition is older, but it seems like they try to upkeep it as well as they can. The rooms were older and not cleaned well. Definitely did not look like photos on the website.

If you stay get minimum ground floor deluxe and a soft mattress.

Beach front location

Right on Ao Nang beach (have heard it compared to Venice Beach), easy access to Railay Beach (much more aesthetically pleasing), tons of touristy things to do in the area, and huge bathtub in the room separate from the shower which was a nice addition. Did a day trip to Railay and used this location as a hub to get to Phi Phi for a few nights. Have heard from locals + tourists that this area of Krabi is much more preferable than Phuket...

Staff dinged me for an item or two I didn't touch in the mini bar but otherwise had a decent stay.

Best value, best location, very romantic!

Great value for the premium location. Fantastic seaside views while enjoying a wonderful buffet breakfast! Enjoyed the pool areas. So close to the beach and renting a longtail boat to explore the nearby islands. Very, very romantic location!

Ok

Was put in the wrong room and after unpacking had to move to another room.
Staff ok but would not hold our cases for us at all.
Breakfast very good with plenty of choices.
