The location was excellent although alot of building works being carried out around the area.
The customer service was excellent , reception always welcoming and quick to resolve a leak from the ceiling in our room .

All the staff at reception (valet, concierge and reception agents) were always very friendly and helpful. We met the cleaning g staff on one occasion and they were helpful and friendly also.

The two bedroom suite we had was extremely spacious and very clean.

The apartment was simply stunning. The team under Paul supervised was supportive with the needs specially for our senior mother, over her 80s. Paul and Chris made the difference. But the location is perfect! 5 minutes walking to the beach and same for the Marina. Thank you. I wish to come again and stay there!

Ahmed on check in was extremely accommodating on our early arrival time.

The staff would always greet us and offer information or advice about the local area. Housekeeping was everyday and the staff would be receptive to any request.

Personally some of the kitchen utensils were not the best to cook with and the cooker was dated as the markings on the knobs had worn off. Dishwasher has a funny smell, so didn’t use it.

Great views and great location. Loved the fact that there was parking and taxi pick up and drop off was easy access.

Great size bedrooms, which was really comfortable. Sofa bed was easy to assemble too.

The hotel or building need to remodel or renovate, it's out of dated. paint is coming off, floor is dirty, toilet push flush is not stable. need plug in outlet in the bathroom. need night lamp in the bedroom.
The Bathroom fan won't shut off, so much noise if the door is open. bathroom door won't close has to push hard tobe able to close.

The apartment was great, comfortable and very spacious. The condition of some of the furnishings weren't great.
We were disappointed that we were not warned there was construction right next door, and they worked 24 hours a day. We felt uncomfortable in the unit, the noise kept us awake. If we were sharing the unit, anyone in the 2nd bedroom would not have slept at all.
The staff were lovely, everyone was so friendly and helpful.

The Barcelo is in a very good location near to Dubai Marina and JBR beach, restaurants etc. The apartment was spacious and well maintained . The staff were all very helpful and welcoming.
However, there was a building in progress over the road and another to the side. Working on the sites 24 hours a day was common, and that coupled with the Mosque (directly opposite) \"Call to prayers\" at 5am each day, disrupted sleep somewhat.
The \"value for money\" was very good but bring ear plugs.

Difficult hotel to review as we found the room itself (2 bedroom apartment) excellent for our family (Mum, Dad, twin 8 year olds) with great separation of bedrooms, 2 bathrooms plus extra toilet, full kitchen with everything we needed and comfortable living dining area.

The problem was that when arrived we learned that the property itself is located right next to a building site for another high rise and sits across a 4 lane highway from a mosque.

The calls to prayer weren’t actually a problem (we quite liked it) but as it was Ramadan there was quite a lot of singing over megaphones. Noise from the building site wasn’t too bad but it felt like they were working 24 hrs a day so was persistent. My son actually liked sitting in the window ledge in his room watching the construction site.

The main issue was that in order to get to JBR beach you have to exit the property and walk down the side of the highway. Normally there would be a walking path but due to the building site next door, there were often giant tip trucks blocking the footpath which meant you had to walk out onto the road, protected only by workers waving little green flags, all while traffic was flying past. Whilst this was only a small part of our day it felt quite unsafe, especially with small children.

From a price perspective the room seemed to be good value but I do feel that the hotel should have an obligation to make booking customers aware of the construction situation. We did flag this concern.

We had a really good stay. The apartment was very big. Perfect for two adults and two teenagers. A nice balcony had (just about) sea views. The staff were very kind and helpful. The pool and the gym are small but adequate. When we stayed there was building work going on immediately around. The immediate area is a bit scruffy but it is an excellent base for access to JBR, the Walk, and Dubai Marina. I would definitely stay there again.

The property was in Dubai marina however due to building works next door, it was very difficult for us when walking out (with a pram). The apartment was very large and very clean, and we enjoyed the swimming pool. However the kitchen facilities were very limited and our washing machine would always give an error message mid wash. We also requested a baby cot and high chair, with a high chair only provided 2 days into our stay.

Just returned from a recent stay at this hotel. The location was fabulous right by Dubai Marina. Nothing was too much trouble and we were very well looked after by Lalit, Rafiq Jay and Harry. The apartment was a deluxe one bedroom apartment overlooking the marina from the 29th floor. The location was vibrant. I loved the noise of the city and the nearby mosque- not for everybody but I found it charming. The hotel is well located for the monorail and city bus- very easy to get around. The apartment was well equipped and well serviced- it was also massive!
We will be back!

The apartments are really nice and modern. However the biggest challenge is that of service. The apartments were not serviced a single day for the 3 days that we stayed there to the point of having the bins overflowing. When one calls housekeeping for missing items in the room, it takes forever if at all they do decide to come. There is also a mosque close by and early morning they start chanting. I would not stay I enjoyed my stay at Barcelo Residences.

This is a very good place to stay with kids. We had 2 bedroom apartment (2 rooms, living room, 3 bathrooms, kitchen) and it was so big and nice view from 24 floor.
1 botle of water (0.5L)/person/day in room.
Coffee machine in room.
Washing machine.
Big fridge.
Balcony.
Premium bedding.
Breakfast included not great but all the elementary food and good food. Crowded sometimes food finish fast and you have to wait. Good coffee offered at breakfast. Making omlets when it's not crowded.
Free early check in/late chek out on availability.
Staff is great they really listen if you have inquiries.
6 elevators makes you save a lot of time.
Cleaning everyday.
Pool not great but it is a plus.
Good location 10 min walk to beach. 10 min walk to marina promenada.15 min walk marina mall. 10 min walk to JBR walk.
24/7 supermarket at ground level.
Great Wi Fi
Free parking underground.
They only thing they need to fix is bathroom ventilation sistem.
Worth the money.

Staying here for work, I didn't use many of the facilities but the staff were great, friendly and helpful. My room was massive for a 1 bed apartment. I used the pool changing rooms late in the evening as I had a night flight and had already checked out this was very useful and not a problem for the hotel.
The supermarket and coffee shop downstairs were great especially being in a flat so you could get Milk and drinks or snacks,although I only had breakfast one day, as it was not part of my package, it was fine.

We stayed in a studio apartment and it was very adequate for what I required as I was not spending too much time in the room. One thing I would say is that the staff are extremely friendly and cannot fault them. Taxi drivers have no idea where this property is, so unless you know Dubai well it is very difficult to explain to them. Our studio apartment was very clean, however on some days it was not cleaned. I would not stay in the studio apartment if you plan on making use of the kitchen facilities as these are very basic in a studio. The studio apartment also has no marina view. All in all, this hotel is good value for money especially in the marina.

I would recommend this apartment hotel to everyone. We arrived early at the hotel and we was able to check in. this was a great start to the holiday. Staff are extremely helpful and so polite. Rooms are very clean (good job by the house keeping team). Room amenities are great. Beach is less then 10 mins walk. So is the tram and metro. Good selection of shops seconds away. Beutiful mosque opposite the apartment. This is a definate for me. I would stay again.

Very nicely decorated and laid out apartments. The front desk staff is professional, friendly and helpful. The attached convenience mart is a gem. Almost everything you need at reasonable prices.
Beware, taxi drivers don't know this name of this property so it can be difficult to find- even though it's not hidden.

The critical part of my stay is with housekeeping. Housekeeping was a complete flop.
1. Personal hygiene- The apartment would reek of BO after a housekeeping visit. There is no reason an apartment should smell bad after a housekeeping visit. Just, No! (3/10)
2. Timeliness of service- You can wait HOURS for towels! (2/10)
3. Quality of service- Floors are left sticky and streaky after mopping with dirty mops. (3/10)
Calling housekeeping became a real thought exercise. \"How badly do I need those towels?...maybe I will get a different person today that will fix the floor stickiness from yesterday... but it's hot, I don't want to have to open the windows to air out the BO after housekeeping leaves...perhaps I can go buy my towels so I don't have to call.\"

You'll might be better off cleaning the place yourself on arrival to be able to relax and enjoy your stay at Barcelo.
