The hostel was in a convenient spot near the border of Gibraltar. And the hostel is located in a nice street with lots of restaurants. When we arrived in the room our airconditioning was not working properly so the lady at the front desk offered us a new room which was very nice of her. We were not properly informed about the parking situation and therefor we had to pay €25 for parking instead of €7. The staff does not speak very good english so communicating can be a challenge. Once we had a complaint the owner did not want to help us and instead send us to the police, not very friendly for the guest.

Good location, but not a pleasant stay

Good location not far from the bus station and the Gibraltar border.
Room rather simple and had an unpleasant smell. I later found out the smell seemed to be made by a/c running so despite not very warm temperature I rather didn't use it. While the room itself was fairly clean, the shutters when closed or the a/c (moving parts were broken off so I could see inside) had a lot of dirt.
I only booked one night and didn't really feel good there and for another night in town I moved to another hotel.
Not a good value for my money, I'd say.

Better than I expected!

The place was simple but completely adequate for staying close to the border. They cleaned really well each night. The laundromat there was great to have, we were on a long trip and washed everything as this was our midway stop. The blankets are dated style. Please note this is a hostel not a hotel, we had private bathroom but not all rooms do so there are common bathrooms people use at night mostly. (We were traveling on a tight budget)
Five minute walk to border control of Gibraltar.
And staff was so helpful and friendly!

Simple, clean and friendly

As a family of 4, this modest hostel was perfectly situated close to bars and cafes, on a quiet pedestrian area. Ideal for us to be able to walk to the Border to visit Gibraltar.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room small and clean, with good air conditioning and enough storage space for all our luggage.
Don’t expect luxury, and you won’t be disappointed.

Small room, difficult to put all luggage in. No one speak English in this hotel, very old motel condition. But location is fair enough, close to the parking garage and walking to the border in couple of minutes.

Geocaching trip stay

Basic hotel which met my needs.
Hotel page indicated bicycle hire nearby but when emailed to ask if they knew rough costs or could stow a bike overnight they did not reply.
The hotel name suggests it it also a restaurant but that is not true.
I tried the continental breakfast the first morning but 2 slices of toast and one cup of coffee seem meagre to me.
Though I travelled solo they gave me a room with 3 beds 4 berths so could be a good no frills base for families.
Room lacked any tea making or sitting facilities.
Plenty of hot water for bathing.

Although you get what you pay for, this hostel is conveniently located to shops and restaurants. For free parking, just park on street about 5 minutes walk away towards the bull ring.

Hotel was basic but completely as described.

Hotel was basic but completely as described. Excellent location just 10 minutes walk from the Gib border and right around the corner from great bars and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful and hotel provided a decent basic breakfast (coffee and toast, hot chocs for children) for a small extra daily charge. The hotel price could be beaten but these were further out of La Linea, this was worth the price to be walking distance from everything and no need to pay for airport transfers.
Ideal for a simple base to explore Southern Spain or visit Gibraltar, room was basic but clean and fine to return to just to sleep and shower, we were on the first floor and didn't find the street outside too noisy. We had a family room 1 x double and 2 singles and we were all quite comfortable, small bath wioth shower over allowed us to bathe kids before bed. We would definitely stay here again.

Good clean stopover hostel

This hostel was perfectly fine for one nights stay in transit from Gibraltar airport. Clean comfy beds with air-conditioning. Area was again fine for just one night. Loads of cafes and eateries locally. Fab Patisserie nearby for breakfast.

Exellent location for walk to Gibraltar and airpor

I couldn't find the hotel with our GPS so I set out on foot looking for it from the parking area by the water. Had a general idea where it was and a local helped me find in the last blockk. Was met at the desk by an older gentleman who was extremely helpful in directing me back to my car and giving me instructions on how to drive there. An adequate room at half the price of Gibraltars cheapest room. My only complaint was that we were over the dining room and there was a lot of noise from moving chairs etc in the evening. Quiet at night though. I would recommend it.

Very basic place to sleep

Very basic place to stay in La Linea. The room was clean but the beds were hard and so were the pillows. And very loud as people came and went. We requested a double but ended with two twins. The person at check in didn't speak English but it worked out ok. Next morning one of the owners was there and was very helpful storing our bags while we went to Gibraltar .

Ideal place to overnight for a Gibraltar visit

My partner and I wanted somewhere close to Gibraltar which we were visiting as a birthday excursion over two nights. The hotel is good value for money and it was very close to the border, so easily walkable. There are many good value eateries in the vicinity which we enjoyed (preferable to Gibraltar!). The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was quiet and although the furniture a little tired, that's not what we came for - just a place to rest and the hotel was great for that. I even enjoyed the little half bath as I don't have a bath in Malaga where I now live.

The hotel is clean and close to Gibraltar border

Used the hotel as a base for me going to Gibraltar which is a very pleasant walk around 20 minutes to marina. It is basic but very clean and well positioned for meals out at night on the town. Very helpful staff.

A Hostel, not a Hotel

We stayed here overnight en route to Algeciras for ferry to Morocco. The clue is in the name. This is a hostel, not a hotel. It's a no-frills stopover with no extras. Service was courteous and efficient. But the beds were hard and we could not sleep properly because of this, also because it was cold and blankets were just about enough to keep us warm. The room and bathroom were very clean. It could do with a bit of refurbishment. Although advertised as free wifi, the receptionist neglected to give us the password until we asked for it next morning. Breakfast was €2 per person extra. The hostel is in the middle of La Linea making it very convenient to local bars and restaurants. It wasn't too noisy outside. There was an air conditioner which would be necessary in the summer. The staff were courteous and helpful. I think it was overpriced for what was on offer particularly as we have stayed in another far more comfortable hotel in La Linea for €50 in the past.

If you're travelling on a budget, Spanish hostels would probably suit you. Hostal La Campana, did have someone on duty all night for security purposes.

Excellent cheap accomodation for visiting Gibralta

As we had an event in Gibraltar this Hotel was very near the border and perfect for an overnight stay. Very reasonable compared to Gibraltar prices. It was clean and perfectly adecuarte. As we booked in early we left our cases in the reception and they took them up to the room for us later. For a couple of nights perfect.

Pro: posizione tattica per chi vuole visitare Gibilterra risparmiando sul prezzo dell'hotel. Per una notte senza pretese va più che bene. Personale sempre presente e disponibile. Molto apprezzata la lavanderia a gettoni gestita dalla struttura. Parcheggio a pagamento di fronte all' hotel.
Contro: arredamento di bassa qualità, pulizia della camera da migliorare.

Grenze von Gibraltar ist zu Fuss erreichbar. Leider hatten wir eine Baustelle vor der Türe und morgens war es sehr laut. Wir würden hier sicher wieder übernachten. Das Personal war sehr höflich.

There no transpiration to there except taxi(told by staff), 20mins is needed by walking to either bus terminal/ town centre. (Actually just 10min walk by bus 9 or 14 and drop at Alameda Principal, be told by bus driver).

The worst is room, it very nosy even midnight, there are many others occupants chatting at ground floor until until 02:00 am, but our room was located at Third Floor!!!!!! And crowned traffic at the morning time had wake me up at 0700am everyday. I can't had good sleep during 2 nights stay there.

May be there is a good atmosphere hostel but I don't recommend if somebody looking for good sleeping.

Gute Lage für eiinen Ausflug nach Gibraltar

Einfache aber gute Unterkunft ganz in der Nähe der Grenze zu Gibraltar - also ideal wenn man dorthin einen Ausflug machen möchte. Zimmer eher einfach aber sauber.
Wir hatten schon in der Früh unser Gepäck abgegeben und bezahlt, da unser Zimmer noch nicht fertig war. Abends fand sich an der Rezeption nur jemand, der kein Englisch konnte und uns vermittelte, dass keine Zimmer mehr frei sind - es dauerte Lange bis wir verständlich machen konnten, dass wir bereits ein Zimmer reserviert und bezahlt hatten....

Gibraltar hotels are expensive.
This hostel is located within 5mins to the boarder so easy access to Gibraltar.
