We are Marriott silver rewards members. The room was stuffy and we were unable to turn down the AC or adjust the fan. I took a shower and water leaked all over the floor and into the room below us. There was also no coffee pot in the room and getting out of the garage was a nightmare. Very unclear instructions. Overall, disappointed.

The Best Of Best

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. My room was very welcoming and I was delighted that i had nothing to complain about. I will say that this hotel presented a calming effect on me. The staff was very professional and are attentive the visitors. I totally enjoyed the food and my stay. I visited Rock of Gibraltar and that was the icing on this visit.

It was warm in the room and I went downstairs to ask the staff why my AC wasn’t working. They said only the heater was on for the hotel because it was April. So we couldn’t turn the air conditioner on in our room. Our only option was to open the windows and it was extremely noisy with motorcycles driving by almost All the time. I was there during Easter week and everything around was closed.

Saved us!

This hotel was a godsend as we ran for our lives from Hotel Marina Victoria. Staff was welcoming, there was a buffet breakfast, concierge would call cabs for you (very important in a city without Uber).

The hotel room was very functional but dull. The dinner was mediocre and there were no easy alternatives within walking distance. Location was adequate but a taxi ride to the port was required, no other transport options were available.

Extra Daily Charges Stuck in The Elevator

Didn’t appreciate the extra 20 € per night we were charged upon our arrival. We were also locked in an elevator for quite some time ring the bell and calling the service number. No one answered. Once the elevator dropped multiple times we were able to get out. We told the front desk and there was no follow up to see if we were ok . Although they did place a do not use sign after. The stairs became our way to access our room afterwards. They were not kept clean. Several days and the same wrappers on the floor. No breakfast included here which was different from

Was small an did have anything to wipe equipment down or towels to use. Who knows when the mats were last cleaned. The room was sufficient and we’re grateful we could find blankets as the bed was only made with a sheet.

The common area was nice. We liked the location to great restaurants. Overall it’s ok just not a fan of the 20 euro per day extra charge when we booked and paid in CAD

Perfect value for money

Very kind staff, clean and spacious room with modern style. I was very pleased by staff on reception who made sure we had everything to feel comfortable.
Parking was free and in the adjacent building but overall hotel is great.

The check in was easy the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The dining room was nothing special with it opening at 8pm. The breakfast was overpriced.
The area around the hotel was suspect and not advised to go too far at night.

Great hotel. Spaciest clean room, big comfortable bed and bath tub, nice staff.

I didn’t like that the restaurant and room service was available only after 8PM.

There were only 2 outlets in our room and neither were bedside.

The breakfast was sufficient but not amazing- for example the juice served was not freshly squeezed and most likely from concentrate, there was only hard boiled egg, no scrambled, over easy, soft boiled.. sausages were also strange (could just be a local custom thing)

Confortable place to sleep

Very good and comfortable conditions.
The service is regular, to self-service. It's understandable given in the middle of New Year's holidays. However, if they make you go to the front desk to pick up the ironing machine on a regular date, that will be a minus.

What I like about this hotel is the location it is really it is close to Corte ingles shopping center, and it is close to the ferry terminal where you can get the ferries for excursions to Tangier, Morocco, Ceuta and so on.

The staff is friendly and always in a good mood. What I don't like is that I tried to use the computer and printer of the business center and did not work it is evident that it does not have any maintenance or care.

The hotel has a kitchen because it does not qualify as a restaurant, they only serve breakfast very basic, and dinner also very limited options, and basically more sandwich and hamburgers than anything, they do not serve lunch either.

There are several restaurants near (walking distance) but are not good I can only recommend La Pampa Argentina Grill (very good).

I recommend this hotel for short stays one, two or three weeks, my visit was three weeks for business purpose and I noticed that most of the people were also on business trips.

This hotel is a sure bet in terms of cleanliness and comfort. Great shower, nice views, quiet and helpful staff. They offered a small bottle of water upon our arrival, but no free water on the second day, even though we paid the same room price. Not a big deal, but it felt weird to be charged for our tiny water bottle upon checkout when, if we had left and someone else had come to stay, they would have had to clean the room plus they would have offered another free bottle of water.. The only other issue was the lack of nearby restaurants. You pretty much have to drive unless you order room service. I would still stay here again because everything else was great.

Excellent Decor and smart rooms,but Breakfast staff a bit lacking,Bar doesn’t open till 19.30 and No Restaurant till 20.00 if I had brought my children 20.00 is a bit late for Dinner.
Didn’t eat in the Hotel for these reasons, must be losing business as I had to eat out for three days.

Despite few requests, hotel refused to arrange special meal for few Muslim guests during Ramadan. Request was as simple as to have earlier breakfast or even small sandwich in the room at 5.00am before we fast. Would have expected Marriot to be more internationally adaptable for different cultures, religions and customers needs

The staff was excellent and attentive. And the hotel was very clean and stylish. The rooms were also very attractive. And the price was very good.

The only downsides to my stay were that:
(a) the air conditioner did not work or was turned off for the winter. Regardless my room was warm
(b) it was a non-smoking room but it smelled like it used to be a smoking room. The smoke smell was everywhere in the room

One Night's Stay

Front desk staff was great! We actually changed rooms so we could have a larger bed - which was a good thing because the first room's bathroom wasn't fully cleaned. Not the greatest area but close to the port, which is what we were looking for in the hotel.

Beautiful new hotel

No Air condition until May.

The hotel is actually very nice. We just spent one night as we were on our way to Morocco and needed to catch an early ferry. The staff was very nice and accommodating but the A/c did not seem to work in the room. When I called and asked how to turn it on they told me they would not use air conditioning for probably another 2 weeks. Which made for a quite stuffy night of sleep!

We were very impressed with our stay! From check in to check out, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, balcony was very accommodating, beds comfortable. Perfect stay to go to Gibraltar! Taxi costs around 25 euros from the hotel to the border. Clean, beautiful view, huge bath tup, great water pressure and really hot water.

POOR RECEPTION PERFORMANCE

Reception was not giving attention to me as I was attempting to check in. She allowed others to interrupt the process repeatedly and had to ask me the same information over again. She also was doing other things while checking me in even though 2 other ladies were standing next to her and not assisting her. I was very unhappy with the process after staying at Marriott hotels for over 50 years.
Also the temperature and water flow in the shower was totally inadequate! The water ran cold then hot all during both showers! The flow constantly decreased and increased all during showers taken! Very poor management! They should have made certain that showers were in working condition before guests used them!

Liked the hotel as we could see the Rock of Gibraltor and the port of Algecerias. Only disadvantage was that it was quite a way from town centre and train and bus station, but not an expensive taxi trip. We had an OK dinner at the hotel, but not many other restaurants ocean nearby on a Sunday night
