Stayed for 8 nights with two friends. The reception staff were very welcoming speaking both Spanish and English.

The room was a good size for 3 people and the beds comfortable. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard. The water from the shower did seem to get onto the bathroom floor somehow but this is a minor gripe. The fridge and air conditioning in the room both worked and there is also tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a TV in the room with a number of Spanish speaking channels.

There is a good size pool which is treated with salt rather than chlorine which is a bonus. Plenty of sunbeds and a good sized seating area. Drinks and food can be ordered from the bar. There is also a restaurant however I am unable to comment on the food as we ate out every day.

The beach is a 20 minute walk away and buses are available directly outside the hotel. The town centre is also walkable however it is along a busy road.

This is my second stay at Hotel Alboran and I would highly recommend it.

Friendly staff and excellent amenities.
We stayed for 6 nights and were very pleased with the friendly staff. The outside pool area looked very nice. Unfortunately too cold to use it. Lots of comfortable lounge areas to relax. Would stay there again.

Amazing!

Amazing. Location wad excellent for Gibraltor and Cruise to Morrocco. Facility is very clean, eady to find. Has their own restaurant and cafeteria. The pool was perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. However, most of all is the attention of the staff. Front desk provided all necessary information for tours. Arranged our day tour to Morrocco, called taxis and even kept our ice frozen. They always asked how our day was. Even though this hotel is at a traffic circle it is very quiet and relaxing. Bus stop to Gibraltar border cost 2.40 euro. We had a great few days and would return. Thank you Hotel Alboran

Our stay was excellent. Upon arrival the gentleman on reception was welcoming informative and nothing too much trouble. The hotel is great and the staff friendly. Food very good in restaurant and cafeteria. The only two minor details,staying half board the daily menu had the same choice of main meal but different name but exactly the same and pork chops two consecutive nights. Buffet breakfast excellent but hot food cold and food warmer not switched on. When more bacon was brought out this was cold. Minor points but something management should take into account.

Not possible to walk to town but we took a taxi and left the car parked there

The hotel is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the location is good for exploring the area. However, the wifi is worthless. We were there for three nights and it never worked for more than 10 minutes before dropping with \"no internet connection\".

Nice hotel.

Hotel in a very busy urban area but only a bus ride from the centre and the beach. We visited Ronda, Tanger Ville, Gibralter, Tarifa for whale watching and Castella De Frontera. Would have been easier with a car and the hotel offers free parking but very manageable without. Staff spoke very good English and were very attentive to our needs. Excellent restaurant and cafe, which was good as we were out of season for many Algeciras restaurants in the town. Bus stop outside of hotel will take you to the bus and train station in 10 minutes and the bus on the other side of the road will take you to Gibraltar in 30 minutes.Be warned though, the road is extremely busy and possibly hard to cross with small children. We managed to see everything we came to see using public transport. A dip in the fantastic hotel pool on
return from our our adventures was brilliant.

Doubt its worthwhile staying

totally stuffed up my book so ended up in a small no balcolony noisy part of hotel night 1
Swimming pool not accessible due to four functions so they fenced off the pool but told us they would let us in well I tried and the staff member redirected me to the fenced off area again on the wrong side.
Belen on reception was extremely helpful but after noisy neighbours with a yelling dog to late at night and noisy function guests in the car park the whole concept of three nights to relax and work where done.
She did get me the room I ordered and had my packed luggage delivered to that room for night 2 & 3.
Guess what day 2 another set of functions, kids running around pool still fenced off.
Not a lot in the area apart from a supermarket opposite and one small restaurant.
Hotel Cafe bar staff too busy with function guests to offer good service.
Cleaning staff spent most of their shift chatting to each other and would not move out of the way for guest movements.
If a function is on virtually forget parking until say 11pm
Dining room doesnt open until 8pm too late!

Even though the hotel is next to a busy road, it is surprisingly quiet inside, and very welcoming. We had a lunch of the day in the hotel restaurant, very reasonably priced and great food. Their cafe was equally nice too. Travelling in the winter, it wasn't as crowded, but the walls could tend to be a little thin for when a neighbour came home a little noisy. Again, staff all the more happy to assist.
Overall, good value for money, and always nice to have free parking in Spain, which has become the bane of our lives while driving around - what to do with the car once you arrive!!

Front of house staff great. Room clean. Restaurant service hopeless, slow, both nights I had to shout at the waiter to get service after waiting quietly. Road access a nightmare off main road. Room OK but very tired. Bathroom best part

Roadside convenience

We wanted a conveniently located hotel close to the highway for a night's stay on our way along the coast. In this way, the hotel served its purpose. Beyond that, there is not much to recommend. The staff were quite nice, I appreciated their attention and help. The room could use some updating, and it is one of those places with too-thin walls. The bath could do with some renovation. Certainly, the hotel was easy to find and to park the car, and to get on your way in the morning.

I was a good place to stay as it was central point where we could travel to other towns and not confined to the one place. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Daily room service. hotel was clean.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choose.
Good local transport into Algeciras.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel, easy to get to without having to enter the city center. Easy bus ride into the city. Front desk staff very friendly, and insisted on making me practice my Spanish, even though they speak very good English.

Very quiet hotel ,stayed half Board ,

Food was ok ,we had breakfast and evening meal ( included a drink from the bar and Coffee )
Staff were excellent and reception gave us some good ideas for trips
Bus from outside the hotel will take you into town for 1 euro 10 cents ,and get the bus from the other side of the road will take you to Gibralter for about 2.5euros

Ideal location to Gibraltar and Morocco

Hotel Alboran was really easy to find. We drove to the hotel and dashed straight in to check in which was quick and smoothly done. Once we felt a little relaxed, we drove down to Gibraltar which was amazing! The day later we decided to hop on the ferry to Morocco and we booked the tickets through our hotel receptionist who was really helpful and explained everything. The ferry to Morocco was a great experience and we managed to see so much of Morocco in one day.
Overall, we had a pleasant two nights stay here and would definitely go back!

This is kind of a highway hotel but a nice one. It is right off a main road but you have to take a super strange traffic circle that might be kind of difficult if you've not used one like it before. The wifi was okay, not great, but at least consistent. The front desk service was excellent and had great English. The restaurant was lacking though.

Better than expected

The hotel exceeded our expectations. It was clean, large rooms, comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly. Being first time in Algeciras, we were worried about taking the public bus to get to the hotel from the bus station. To our surprise, we found that the bus stop where we had to get off was called Hotel Alborán.

A real find

Friendly and helpful staff greeted us on arrival and we were swiftly directed to our room, which was spacious, quiet and had both a fridge and a balcony. Both were appreciated. The quality of furnishing and decor were good and the breakfast buffet was both well priced and of a high standard. While the hotel is not in the main part of town, there is a bus service which enables you to leave your car at the hotel, where the parking is free and plentiful. There are also supermarkets nearby, if required. We enjoyed our stay very much and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Lovely Hotel on a Main Road

Everything about the hotel was good with the exception if a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the front door and the main road less than 100 yards away. Oh and the wedding reception went on until 3:15 am with guests leaving at regular intervals throughout the night. overall not too bad though.

Good quality hotel in Algeciras

This hotel is clean and quiet with onsite free parking, wifi and a suitable restaurant. We only needed one night stay before catching the ferry to Morocco and this hotel was great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and their restaurant onsite had a nice-enough dinner. We are a family of three and they added a nice additional bed/cot to our room for my 9 year old son. It worked well for us.

Good Hotel for use Transit

I used this hotel due to pet friendly and it was first time.
Initially, it was good hotel. Design, room constructions ...
The problem was many curly hair in the bath room,washstand etc. I was really feeling so bad during shower taking.
If there are improved, I think this hotel is better hotel especially you will use for transit. because little bit far to visit central.

Great hotel, above average staff, comfortable, good wifi. Breakfast was a bit lacking but ok for the price. Outstanding service -- helped us book a ferry to Ceuta & Morocco the following day AND let us leave our car parked at the hotel free of charge the next day during our day trip. More than helpful and good proximity to the port. Would stay again.

A lovely introduction to a quiet hotel. It has charm and grace, along with age. The staff was most helpful. Wi-fi was not. Bed, clean and very comfortable. However I found the lack of mirrors a bit odd. There was only one small bathroom mirror. Dinner in courtyard was delicious and a great value. Breakfast was an extremely pleasant surprise with more than we could possibly consume. Fresh juices, typical pastries, cheeses, cereals, a lovely start to the day. We would stay again.

Einmalige Übernachtung auf der Durchreise

Das als zwingende COVID-Maßnahme beschriebene, nur oberseitige Besprühen von zwei Reisetaschen unseres Gepäcks aus 1,50 m Entfernung durch zwei Mitarbeiterinnen der Rezeption empfanden wir als vollkommen sinnfrei. Diese Maßnahme war auf unserer langen Reise durch Deutschland, Frankreich und Spanien für dieses Hotel ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal der besonderen Art.

Godt hotel i udkanten af byen

Til vores brug var hotellet rigtig godt. Vi var på gennemrejse og havde bare brug for en overnatning - vi skulle videre næste dag. Hotellet ligger lige i udkanten af byen og med egen P-plads.
