The hotel is perfectly located for many of Madrid's popular visitor attractions and landmarks and was excellent value for the price. Almost every location, landmark and area we wanted to visit was within a 10-20 minute walk. And the stop for the airport express bus was a leisurely 10 minutes stroll away. Our room was clean and tidy and appeared to have been renovated relatively recently. All the staff were welcoming and very helpful. We had a problem with a broken bed when we arrived, but this was resolved quickly and very much to our satisfaction with the staff going 'above and beyond'! The breakfast room, located on the 5th floor was tastefully decorated and furnished and the floor to ceiling windows provided spectacular views of the architectural splendor of the impressive buildings across the street. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious, fresh food to suit all tastes. The breakfast staff were welcoming and kept replenishing all the food options whilst clearing away the tables, so no waiting around. Check in and check out was hassle-free. Only negatives I can think of were that the corridors were in need of a bit of a refresh in terms of decorating. But were all kept clean and tidy. The two elevators are small, with room for max 4 people at a squeeze. But as there are only 12 floors we never had to wait more than a minute or two. Overall I would say this hotel offers excellent value, given its prime location and breakfast room and food on offer

The property was too expensive for what it offered. The area is great but the rooms and property is old. They have a great breakfast with beautiful view.
The walls are thin and you can hear everything going on outside your room. The cleaning staff was rude in the sense that while they cleaned they didn't mind making extreme noise while cleaning and vacuuming at really early hours, 7am. Guests were coming in at 4am making loud noises after partying and nobody quiet them down.

We stayed for one night. It was perfect, had everything we needed, the bed was comfy, the rooms were big, and the shower was the best shower I’ve ever been in!
Breakfast was brilliant too with an amazing city view.
Definitely going to book again for the winter months when I return to Madrid.

Rooms were smaller than advertised, overall no reachable outlets. Thermostat had the option to lower temp but it didn’t work, room was so stuffy we had to leave the windows open the whole time.

It states 4 star on Expedia but closer to a 2 star in my opinion. Location was good though.

This property was a total disappointment. We were 3 couples traveling together. All 3 room were unacceptable. One of the major things is this property claims to have air conditioning and when we went to complain to front desk, clerk yelled at 3 groups of people THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING IN TBIS HOTEL .( yet they claim they do )
The first room that was offered to me was was smelly to the point I thought someone had just used the bathroom. Later I found out some other guest had same problem . I was then offered another room that did not smell , but for this luxury I had to pay an extra 15.00 per night . When I was given 2nd room , I went to take a shower at 11:40 pm and the shower did not work , so I was given a key to another room so I had to go to front desk so I could pick up another key so I could shower. . I would not stay in this property if it was given to me for free .

A prime place to stay

We loved staying in this hotel. It is cozy, but confortable enough. Very well located and the staff is amazing. Breakfast is definitely outstanding, not only for the quality and quantity of food, but for the beautiful ambience in the terrace in the 5th floor.

Staff was excellent, very friendly, professional, and attentive! They scheduled our taxi pick ups for our day trips even had a doctor come in for one of our relatives who did not feel well. Also, gave great recommendations around the area. Location for this hotel was perfect! Down the street from La Gran Via, Plaza Del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel. The street had many restaurants and known American ones as well. If taking bus, it was at the front of the hotel.

Fine for a night or two but wouldn't stay long

The hotel was located in a central spot and had a great breakfast on the roof solarium! but our room was TINY and had no window (only a window to a brick wall alcove). Maybe the more expensive rooms are nicer but it was so dark and small. Also the hallways and room had a very strong smelling air freshener that was headache inducing.

Petit Palace Alcala exceeded our expectations. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful from the start! We arrived early from a long international flight and they were able to check us in right away.

Our room was a quadruple with bunk beds for kids that our son really loved. The rooms were clean, and the bathroom was spacious and nice. Another plus for me was being able to open the windows and let in some fresh air. We were there in the winter and it did get a little stuffy, so that helped.

Breakfast in the morning is absolutely worth the cost - it was delicious with plenty of options - fresh baked pastries, yogurt, fresh juice, meats, cheeses, coffee. The view from the breakfast area is amazing as well.

The location is great as well, walkable to most of the major sites in Madrid. Note - there is some street noise, but we travel with a white noise app to help. We would definitely stay at this hotel again should we return to Madrid!

Loved this little gem. The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. Located in an area to walk to most things and right next to a metro station. The breakfast was 11euros pp and totally worth it. So happy we stayed here while In Madrid. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Everything was wonderful.

The Location is unbeatable. It is literally beside a subway station. The Hotel is very Clean. The Breakfast room at the top of the hotel has a great view of the city but the breakfast itself is just ok. The hotel room is tiny for two people but the bathroom is big which is a bit surprising.
Overall, we we're very satisfied with tis hotel and would definitely recommend this to anyone.

The hotel was a bit run down. The room was small but the bathroom was spacious and comfortable. The only issue really was the a/c it was running subpar and I had to get up multiple times in the middle of the night because it kept switching off.

Spent one night in this property, which is in a great location. It served its purpose for that one night, as it was clean, and had family rooms that could accommodate a family of 4. However, the hotel comes off as more of a Youth Hostel than a boutique hotel. Still it was ok for the one night.
