We can only recommend this hotel for its location - beyond that the bedrooms are in great need of refurbishment with triple glazing a must. We were kept awake over two nights having been allocated a room on the first floor despite a request for a high floor. Not much traffic use the street but there is a nearby bar with many locals talking and laughing very loudly well into the wee small hours. We had booked a twin room - on arrival I was told there was one 'very big' bed! Once in the room the sofa had been made up as the second bed which was fine but shouldn't reception have known this? The bathroom was extremely dated, decor poor, amenities non existent. Bottled water only provided the first night which was a must for the kettle as the water from the sink came out brown! On departure we were told all was fine with the bill - they didn't ask if we had had a pleasant stay or if we needed a taxi to the airport. It certainly didn't spoil our trip to Madrid but it was a shame as we booked this brand as we had previously stayed at their Palace Hotel in Cordoba where we had a very different experience.

There was no air conditioning in the room.
We picked and booked this expensive hotel because it said it had air conditioner.
The room was really hot and stuffy; we talked to the front desk about it and their answer was that the hotel had turned off the air conditioner because it was going to be cold outside at night; but we couldn't even open our windows because we were on the first floor (dangerous) and the windows didn't even have air ventilation.

My family trusted me with the hotel selection on our recent trip to Europe, and everything went well, until we ended up in this place. Now I face the possibility of being disinherited. I don't have tattoos, not because I don't want a tattoo, but because a tattoo would've assured my disinheritance. I've been careful about this. But you had to mess this up for me...

It's not just the particularly unfriendly staff in a city where even unfriendly people are friendly...

It's not just the extremely bad price/quality ratio...

It's not just the expensive breakfast, which happened to be one of the worst we ever had...

But what definitely played a role in my disinheritance was the shower. Even Simone Biles would risk her life taking a shower in those tiny bathtubs with a neo-european movable glass door. I don't pray, but God knows I begged him to get me through my daily shower each time I stepped on that thing.

Aside from that... you'll love the complimentary apples on the lobby! Too bad they're only available at night.

It was too hot in the room and the desk said they couldnt lower temperature. We lied on top of bedding and still couldnt get cool enough to sleep. Less than 2 hrs sleep in 2 nights.
Location was great though. So if season different would have been better experience.

There is incredible too load from streets one the weekend, people gather a lot outside the hotel on a Saturday, but the location is very well convenient… I would probably request a room not pointing to the street to avoid noise!

The hotel itself was very nice. Large room and clean throughout. The staff were generally very friendly.
The main issue was the noise outside on a Friday and Saturday night. Unfortunately during these nights, a small bar/club is open from midnight until 5.30am. During this time there is a lot of noise from people in the street which made it very difficult to sleep particularly in our room which was on this side of the hotel.
We also felt the price to have breakfast at the hotel was far too expensive.

Ideally located on quiet street less than 5 min north of Puerta del Sol. Equidistant from Sol and Sevilla metros. Within 15-20 min walk from Prado. Less to Pza Santa Ana (tapas bars) and Plaza Mayor. My 5th floor single had low slanting roof supports that were easy to hit your head on. But room was clean and bright, good a/c, mini-fridge, hot water kettle. Hotel breakfast is pricey but good quality (tortilla, jamón etc. in addition to regular eggs, pastries, cereals) except for the coffee (from a machine).

Horrible experience. Don't stay at this hotel unless you want to be treated badly. The staff agreed to store my luggage and then mistakenly gave it to another guest who went to the airport. Luckily, that guest recognized the problem and sent my luggage back to the hotel with an Uber. The staff were not helpful at all - they told me I needed a police report before any action could be taken. To make matters worse, the hotel gave me room 113, which was above a nightclub, the noise was unbearable when asking for a room change; Hotel staff said there were no rooms available even though their website showed room availability. On Tuesday I asked to change my room because I suspected that the nightclub would be open on the eve of a holiday and they assured me that it was not necessary because the nightclub was only open on weekends and in fact the nightclub opened that night because it was a holiday. Once again, an absolutely horrible experience: Madrid is a great city, this is a horrible hotel.

Very friendly staff, clean rooms, and great strategic location that is close to everything. Just needs minor fixing (caulking in bathroom, minor cracks/space gaps in laminate floor. Would definitely recommend and would use again.
The cook/food attendant seemed a bit grouchy when he was asked for coffee, as he was all alone with no help on December 2, 2023 during breakfast time. Could use additional staff member and maybe self serve coffee maker.

Not Worth It!!

This hotel for me was definitely not worth the price tag even for its location.

My room at check in was so SMALL , minimal sunlight, NO view & NO AC !!

I called the front desk about the air immediately and she said one moment. I assumed she would send someone. I dozed off bc I was tired from my 8hr flight & after 1hr the room was still HOT, no one ever came to service it & it made this loud banging noise.

I took a video of the noise and went to the desk and played it for her & she moved me to a different room on the 5th floor with an angled ceiling that looks like a loft in the pics. DON’T accept that room unless your short (5’4 or shorter) or have small kids that like to play bc it’s like they made a room out of attic space and it is NOT a functional room. I bumped my head on the ceiling a few times so be careful. The bathroom had a tub instead of walk in shower & I hated that bc when I took a shower the floor was soaked. The fridge didn’t work at all and the AC unit blew cold air but only in the direction it was facing which was underneath the angled part of the ceiling. I was only there for 2 days so I dealt with it. I went to another hotel for remainder of my stay.

Pros: Smells nice in lobby, need key card for hotel access, staff was friendly, short walk to everything.

Cons: Location.. Hotel located on a side alley street, Very dark at night with minimal lighting. Can’t see the front door right away. Overpriced with no real views. AC cooling sucks.

Horrendous noise, don't stay if you want sleep

Don't bother staying here if you wish to sleep, unless you're the heaviest sleeper on the planet. There is a nightclub right next to the hotel, it opens weds-sun midnight-6am and during those hours there are constantly drunk people outside shouting and screaming. It isn't just a bit of inconvenient noise it is so loud I honestly thought I'd left my window open by mistake at first. Then at 6am everyone leaves the nightclub and there is another half hour of hell as people are dispersing. The fundamental reason people stay in a hotel is to sleep and this hotel doesnt serve that basic purpose, how they can charge money for those rooms is beyond me. Really ruined our holiday as we were just shattered the whole time and we both ended up ill from exhaustion. I've stayed in tons of hotels/hostels from as low as 2 stars and this is by far the worst I have ever stayed in.

The room has poor cleanliness, and tons of damages (Attached are the pictures). The bathroom is covered in mold, the shower is dirty, the floor vinyls tiles are not in their place. The wall wallpaper has bubbles which resemble mold in their inside. The room itself looks like it had a past flood incident.

The conditions of the room are not as the ones stated in the pictures we saw when we made the reservations in Hotels.com.

The hotel is very charming and centrally located. The staff was always very courteous and helpful. I asked for and received recommendations on where to get tested for the return trip. They also printed my results for me. The breakfast is very good and there are safety guidelines in place. The rooms are modern with great shower heads and generous pump shampoo bottles. The only thing this hotel is missing is nice city views.

Nice hotel off an less than desired quiet side street. Biggest issue is there was NO PADDING under the fake hardwood floors and you can hear everything ESPECIALLY the housekeeper that mops and bangs the mop bucket all over the room. I literally jumped up out of my sleep bc the noise was so loud and extreme. The front desk was obviously aware of this so when i mentioned it they immediately offered to move me to a room with noone above me. That was a plus even though i was downgraded in room size.

Location is very good, quiet street almost all the time, except weekends nights when crowds of young people hang out in Night club next door till 6AM mostly on the street smoking and drinking right under our room windows. Luckily, soundproof windows blocked most of the sound so the level of noise was tolerable.

The over all stay was pleasant but a few things put me off, the initial room I was given the AC unit started leaking onto the floor and bed so I was moved to a different room with no hassle. In the 2nd room in the bathroom the paint was peeling off in a few places on the cieling and it look as if it need a bit of paint work to touch up.

The major issue I had was the smell of cigarette smoke coming through the AC unit at 11:30 at night for a while it made it very unpleasent to be in the room.

ON a positive note the breakfast was very good and the bed was one of the more comfortable ones I have slept in a hotel.

Very nice hotel, very beautiful lobby and friendly staff. The only negative thing to report is that we left our room early in the morning to tour Madrid and came back at 3 pm but the cleaners hadn't went into the room to replace the towels and restock the shampoo, etc. We had to call them to come and do it. But they came in very quickly and did a very good job.
Overall, the hotel is great, beautiful and clean. It is very close to all the main attractions. I would definitely go back.

We ordered from the room service menu one night which is provided by an external party, 30 min wait and delivered to the door which was great. No noise from the streets and good security with a swipe card provided to access the hotel.

The property location is excellent, being easy to reach from the airport, as well as within easy walking distance to all main attractions of Madrid. The staff were friendly and the hotel is well kept. The main reception and bar area could be better utilised, especially at night, as it has no real atmosphere and is very under-utilised. The room was a good size, modern and clean. The beds were however a little hard for sleeping if you tend to like a softer mattress. The room we were in was also at the end of a hall, and due to the door locations, anytime the neighbouring guests went in and out of the room, it caused a loud bang. The rooms were also not that sound proof, but this could also be due to the location of our particular room. A very nice hotel in an excellent location, but needs to work on the lobby area and improve the quality of the beds and overall room sound proofing.

Paid for their top room. Arrived for check in and was informed that our room was given to someone else! Nothing could be done. We either took the room they had or they could contact hotels.com and get our money back and we could go find another hotel. No refund. No apology. Not even a voucher for a drink at the bar as way of reimbursement. I’ve left it one week and zero contact from them or hotels.com. Imagine arriving in Madrid on the weekend of el Classico and trying to find alternative accommodation. We stayed for this reason. Would not advise others to book and pay for their superior room as you’re not actually guaranteed to get it.

Great stay overall! Clean, nice, great location, great breakfast, cool style, great price and nice staff. The rooms are clean, cool and minimal. You would not think the hotel is what it is from the outside. But it’s big in the inside. It’s in a great location right down the street from the busy and touristy Gran Via but tucked away on a nice and quiet side street as to not have to deal directly with the mass of people, so that’s kind of a nice thing. (Negatives only for the patio rooms that are more expensive) We stayed in a room with a patio on the top floor. We always get a room with a balcony or at least a good view. We love to be able to sit on a patio or look out the balcony or large windows at any time and see and hear the energy of the city that we are visiting in the comfort of our room when taking breaks from walking around. Saying that, the building is in a pretty narrow street right next to another taller building and there is a fairly long roof that you have to lean over to view the street and the action below. So not great views, however it’s still a VERY nice LARGE patio with a table and chairs and you can still hear the energy of the city. We would prefer a more scenic patio. Other than that we highly recommend and would stay there again in the future!

My room was very cute- reminded me of staying at a house. The service was good and the location was nice for walking around. There is a dance club next door, so if your room faces the road (like mine), be prepared to hear people partying all night. Bring ear plugs!

Room did not have AC as it had been disconnected for the season. General manager and staff did not answer my concern. Very warm stay would recommend to check before checking. Outrageous fare of €365 for first of four nights, given technical limitations

Air conditioning stopped working

Central location, and easy access to the metro. Easy to get to from the airport. Great places to eat around the hotel. However......

Our air conditioning stopped working on the day we checked in, and it was hot! The first response from the staff was we can get an engineer tomorrow, but we can open the windows for tonight... I wasn't happy as I had paid almost 90euros for a room with no air conditioning in the middle of the madrid summer. The lobby was cooler than our room.

With further discussions and the staff calling their manager over night, they eventually moved us to a room with air conditioning, an upgraded room. I'm glad the issue was eventually resolved, however it was slightly frustrating as it should have been their first approach to offer another room, rather than asking guests to open their windows (we tried, it was no better).

I had a great stay in the Eurostar in Granada. Thought that this one would be similar. Not close. It is not a four star and the deluxe room was not comparable to their other hotel. Eurostar needs a little quality control and the same standards within their chain. Be careful when you book Eurostar.
