I could not even stay at the accomodation for one night. the room smelt like stale cigarettes and was giving me a migraine. when i spoke to the staff they dismissed what i was saying and ignored me. i was booked for a 10 night stay in a single room and was not even offered a different room. i checked out and had to book myself in to a different accomodation last minute. at the time i was under the impression i would be able to get a partial refund for my stay as it would be a last minute cancellation only however the accomodation refused this. i would never book this again and will warn everyone who mentions going to madrid against this.

This motel represents great value stay for those looking for basic accommodations. The location is fantastic, steps from the Puerta del Sol metro and numerous bars and restaurants. A/C was user control and very cold, important for summer months. Staff was very friendly. Our room could be a bit “noisy” at night but nothing that affected our rest. The bath shower had good water pressure. Beds were decent. I would stay again.

About what you expect

Great location. Walkable to all the major attractions. Hotel overall was fine but definitely dated. Clean just old. A bit noisy at night if that is a problem for you but offset by reasonably comfortable beds. About what you would expect for the money.

The hotel offers a great price and is conveniently located near the subway, making it easy to get around. The staff is friendly and welcoming, but the property feels outdated, and noise is a significant issue. I could hear everything from conversations in the hallway to cleaners working during the day, which was disruptive when I stayed in due to rain. Even with the windows closed, noise from the outside was noticeable. While the price is a good deal for a single room, it’s not the best choice if you're looking for peace and quiet.

Your given 3 keys one for the front door then you go up 3 floors in elevator and another key opens that door then you have a key to your room. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

The Fuentesol has no basis charging through Expedia as it does, even as a hostal, which in Spain does not mean communal youth hostel. It's a hotel. The single room with private bath I had was leterally postage stamp size; no phone in the event of an emergency; inability to move more than 3 ft. in any direction. Worse, the minimal, frequently absent staff speaks only Spanish. I tried to call in advance of my arrival and when I asked if my interlocutor spoke English or French, I received a curt \"No\" and was hung up on. When I departed, I asked if they could print out my 1/2 page flight boarding card: Answer: \"No. That's not our \"obligation\" \".
Very bad experience all-around. Expedia could do a better job researching with whom they do business.

It was in a great area! It is very lively day and night, with tons of stuff to do right outside the Hostel doors! Great food and bar options open late. Walkable to many of the main tourist sites. Our room was a bit small but very clean and comfortable! Bed was nice. Room had a sink, shower, AC and the shared toilets were always very clean, as well as the rest of the property.

Always felt safe walking around here - even very late at night. We enjoyed our stay! The noise outside didn't bother us, as we could not really hear it from our room. If you want something small but comfortable, clean and in a very central/fun location, then this could be a good choice.

Only a few steps away from Puerta del Sol!

The location of this hostal is superb! We were literally steps away from Puerta del Sol which is extremely connected to anything you’d want to do in Madrid. The room was clean and ordered when we arrived and we had the room cleaned every day. Everything worked in the room. The staff was not the friendliest we’ve met, but they weren’t rude either, just not very engaging. However, we had no issues during our stay and would consider returning if we are ever back to Madrid. Recommended for the price and value you get.

This was a trip wrongly booked. The wrong dates came up and I only noticed 10 seconds after booking. But the hostel refused to amend to the correct dates. Therefore I would have lost all my money. At least I got three days bonus. And I’ve booked somewhere else in Madrid for the correct dates. This has left me annoyed at their intransigence and will not book with them on future trips.

Clean and functional. Great value and excellent position right at the heart of bars and restaurants. My only niggle is that I travel to Madrid quite often and have recently started to used this hostel but when I booked for my next trip in Feb 24 I put the wrong dates in and although Hotels.com reached out to them within a few minutes of my mistake they would not allow me to rebook for the correct dates without loosing all my money and re booking. Hence my low score and I will not be going back as they have lost my loyalty.
(Without their unreasonable stance it would have been 10* to be fair.)

Nice convenient budget hotel

This is a budget hotel/room right in the centre of Madrid. Very little English spoken, however the receptionists were pleasant and helpful, allowing us to leave our bags until the evening on the day we checked out. Our en suite room suited our needs. Clean enough. Fridge, TV and a safe (one euro each time you open/close). Lift worked. Lots of eateries, bars with live music and the city tour bus etc just steps from the hotel. Great convenient location.

Our only issue was the noise (revellers, rubbish collections etc) in the streets below well into the early hours - and beyond!! If you are looking for a convenient budget hotel right in the near Sol - this could be the place for you BUT TAKE YOUR EAR PLUGS!!

The room was small but that was expected. The staff were not always the most friendly, we could hear them arguing with each other and overall it was a little uncomfortable. Also if you don't speak spanish plan to have trouble communicating. The bathrooms were clean and the was a shower, but no toilet inside the room.

The hotel was good for the price and the location is great as far as things to do in Madrid. The only reason I rated it low was because the owner was very rude from the beginning and after I asked for a sheet to cover up with in bed he became belligerent and disconnected the air conditioner while we were gone so that we could not use it the next night. We were sweating while attempting to sleep through the city that doesn't sleep. Needless to say, I would not stay there again.

I stayed 2 nights in Hostal Fuentesol, in a single room. The room was fairly small, and there was a little shower inside but the toilets are shared in the hall. Overall, I thought the room and service was fine, since I was traveling by myself. I also think it might help to speak some Spanish with the staff (I did not try speaking in English, so I'm not sure). It was fairly economical, and the main attraction is the central location just adjacent to Sol, which is very convenient. I think there are some larger rooms with 2 beds for example, but for a solo traveler, I think this room is fine.

Central Location But A Little Rough

On the whole I liked this place. Very central and all that entails - good and bad. It was really noisy even with my earplugs (standard packing item for Madrid). You plug a cord into a socket to turn on certain lights but all kind of fun if you approach it with the right spirit. Not a place for business travelers but more for people who want to be where the action is and and short stumble home from the many bars and sites close by. Not a place to go to recover from long flight etc. Front desk staff was nice and pleasant.

A localização é ótima. Mas o resto… Os próprios funcionários parece morar nos quartos e começam a bater portas e falar alto as 5h da madrugada.
São os mais barulhentos.
As paredes não tem acústica e a gente houve até o q não deveria.
Logo q cheguei me colocaram num qto o ar condicionado jogava água pra cima do travesseiro e da cama.
Pediram eu ir pra outro quarto e ninguém foi capaz de ajudar na mudança.
O Wi-Fi não conectava e a funcionária falou q era meu celular (iPhone). Pq o dela estava normal.
Depois da minha insistência. Ela ligou pr alguém q mandou fazer alguma coisa e ela assumiu q tinha problema e qdo eu voltasse da rua estava arrumado.
Enfim, é tudo muito velho, funciona precariamente e tem o barulho q não é da tua e sim do gerente, dono… Sei lá.
ISSO NÃO DEVERIA ESTAR NO HOTÉIS.COM !!!
Sei bem o q é local simples, funcional e com respeito.
Esse tá totalmente fora dos padrões hotéis.com.
Deixei até o hotel mais cedo pq não aguentei o barulho.

Hotel bem próximo aos principais pontos turísticos, mas numa rua cheia de restaurantes, movimentada e barulhenta. Acústica do quarto muito ruim, se ouvia todo o barulho da rua e do corredor do quarto. Cama era pequena, tamanho viúva, e um travesseiro comprido apenas, o que não era nada confortável. Ficamos coçando bastante o corpo, acredito que o colchão tinha percevejos.
Fora isso, pra dormir e tomar banho, até que está ok, embora o preço seja bem alto pro que oferece.

Localização não poderia ser melhor, fica perto de tudo e da pra passear a pé qualquer horário do dia.

Muy buena ubicación, justo a una cuadra de Puerta del Sol y rodeada de muchos lugares comerciales y de comida. Nos tocó la habitación 15, sólo una de las 3 camas era incómoda y requiere cambio. El clima funcionaba muy bien, la ducha era buena y el baño en general en buenas condiciones.
La habitación es muy sencilla y la TV no funcionó en 4 días. Pero por el precio hay que sacrificar ciertas cuestiones.
El personal que atiende es amable y diario nos hicieron la limpieza

Sehr zentrale Lage, vieles fußläufig erreichbar. Die Metro-Station Sol liegt wenige Gehminuten entfernt, unmittelbar nahe des Hostals gibt es ein großes Gastronomie-Angebot, auch zum Frühstücken.
Zimmer und Bad waren ausreichend groß und machten einen sauberen, renovierten Eindruck. Einziger Nachteil war ein fehlendes Fenster (Zimmer 16). Die funktionierende Klimaanlage konnte dies aber kompensieren.
Die Schlüssel konnte man jederzeit mitnehmen, man ist also rund um die Uhr unabhängig.

Infelizmente o atendimento do pessoal que trabalha lá foi de muita indelicadeza. Não foram gentis, prestativos, falavam de forma grosseira. Sobre o quarto atendeu às expectativas.
