An absolutely amazing hostal, so close to everything, and a beautiful building. Rooms are small, however, include an ensuite and has a lift. We've stayed there many times, and will continue to do so and highly recommend this Hostal.

This Hotel is located in a great location, however if you are a light sleeper this might not be the place for you as there are people making noise, drinking and yelling in the street until 6:00 a.m.. Although the hotel room was recently updated it lacked basics like drinking glasses, a hairdryer and there was a charge for using the room-locking safe. The hotel was clean and safe and reasonably priced but may not be for everyone

Llegamos 6:00 am y en vez de darnos los buenos días, nos dijeron en muy mala forma que a esa hora no podíamos entrar, lo cual conocíamos, después nos habilitaron una taquilla pagada para guardar el equipaje, no nos ofrecieron baño ni nada. If you need to have a quiet space to sleep, this might not be it. Staff was nice, place was clean but they don't provide you a comforter for your bed. But overall it was a good value

Terrific stay at this perfectly located hotel. I usually wouldn’t book a 2 star hotel, but reviews were so positive I gave it a go, and glad I did.
Rooms were sparse (no glasses or coffee or tea etc) but they were new, fresh and comfortable.

I enjoyed my stay at Hostal Marlasca. The property is beautiful inside, the room was clean and exactly as in the pictures, and as everyone says, the shower is amazing after a long day of exploring. It is a very close to Plaza del Sol, and the surrounding streets and alleys are alive all the time, especially on Friday nights and into Saturday morning. I highly recommend Hotel Marlasca, and would stay here again.

If you're looking for somewhere close to Sol, then the location is great. Unfortunately, everything else isnt - as per a lot of reviews, it's incredibly noisy from about 7pm to 5am, with people gathering outside the hotel all night (happened Fri, Sat and Sun I was there). The single room itself was adequate but the sheets were dirty and the shower still had hair from someone else in it. The hotel reception is on Floor 2 (not signposted) so you'll find many visitors wandering about lost (oh and there's no signs one each floor to say which rooms are where).The lift is tiny so be prepared if you're bringing a pushchair/bike to carry it up the narrow spiral staircase (no staff offered to help me). So in summary, ok if you're looking for a cheap place to put your head down but I'd suggest paying more and staying elsewhere.

The location is incredible, being right in the centre of everything. It's a very lively spot with some of the best restaurants in the city, right on the doorstep. Just note that it's a noisy area so if you're wanting to sleep early and have silence, this is not the spot for you (but it was perfectly fine for me). The hotel room was small but had pretty much everything that I needed. My one complaint is that the pictures of the bathroom did not match what I got. According to the pictures, all the bathrooms are renovated, but unfortunately mine was not and I would not have booked this hotel had I of known this was going to be the case.

We liked the hostal overall because it had a balcony, it was really close to everything and had a nice old style. It also offers flexible checking/checkout. However the room was incredibly small, not the one in the pictures. The towels are not changed daily and the facilities are limited (eg no hair dryer, small bottles of shower gel etc). There’s also a weird smell probably coming from the building which seems old. Moreover, you better learn Spanish if you want to communicate. Other than that, the employees are very nice, polite and helpful. The place seems safe as they have to unlock the door downstairs.

I have stayed at this hostel twice and each time. The location is great, room including bathroom is small, clean but dated and staff very helpful and welcoming. I would stay there again.

The hotel was modest but comfortable, for the most part. The only complaint we had was that our air conditioner was barely working and so we didn’t sleep our best. The staff was very helpful to us and friendly. I think the hotel was a good value for the mo eye and the location was good, just a couple minutes walk from Sol metro station.

I was disappointed with my room – it was an internal room that felt like an old cleaners storage room.
The walls were thin and dirty, and the lock on the door was very old and finicky (it was hard to open and close every time). Also the door didn’t fully close, there was a large gap at the bottom and side which meant the bright hallway light shone through all night.
The room was located right across from the entry door, and the only window opened into the busy hallway so when other guests entered during the night I was woken up by the noise and light. I didn’t get a good sleep.
The hotel’s location is the only positive – it’s very close to Sol station.
The other rooms might be nicer but the thought of staying in that room again means I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Very friendly and helpful chap on reception. Check in wasn't until 2 but he let us check in at 12.30 as the room was ready. Nice old building with character, right in the heart of things, excellent location.

Just a frame with bar for wardrobe (3 hangers) no drawers anywhere, did have small table either side of the bed, also an old desk with a chair. Bed and linen were clean and comfortable. Bathroom very small, toiletries very minimal. Had 2 small soaps and 2 small shower gels, (which were never replenished) good job I had brought my own.
But, in saying that the area around the hotel is brilliant for food and drink and is lively. 5 mins from Puerta del Sol.

... excellent location, short walk to Sol metro station, noisy and full of life evening, midnight till dawn so don't expect a restful sleep if you are a light sleeper. despite all these, i would still recommend as this hostal is very near to where all the action is: bars, restaurants, cafe, chocolate shops, close to famous landmarks. we bought a tourist pass for 18 eur each but never used it apart from travelling from the airport and back. for the room itself: very basic but reasonably comfortable bed, pillows and sheets. toilet and bath ok but needs a little more care when cleaning as we had to deal with smell of stale urine which we eventually found to be from dirty water in the toilet brush holder. minor flaw that is easily rectified.

We stayed for 3 nights,the location was good,close to everything,shopping,restaurants,main tourist attractions.however we got a room on 4th floor and once we got into the room the internet does not work anymore, so we had to stay in the lobby or outside of our room to get internet. Our room was ok ,nice and clean except for the sink in the bathroom,it was dirty:i saw some yellow stains probably from foods or sth from previous guests. The last night we smelled cigarette coming out from our AC,we called the receptionist and he said he would check into it but he never came up to check out room or called back to inform us what the problem was,we thought maybe someone was smoking in the next room.we had to open the window so the smell was gone afterthat but we smelled it again next morning.
