Situated on 2nd floor of apartment block, property has lift. Staff excellent, friendly & helpful, plenty of bars & restaurants in the area, downside, very noisy at night due to club opposite, shower has very inconsistent heat levels.

DO NOT GO THERE! The location is awesome, just off Plaza del Sol and close to Santa Ana plaza, but this is the end of any positives. The place looked cluttered, the corridor and our room looked gloomy, my mattress had a spring poking out, the desk had no outlets anywhere near it, one cheap bottle of liquid soup in the bathroom provided for all your needs, not even glasses for toothbrushes. Out of 6 times we went in and out of our room, 5 times the corridor had used sheets strewn around. Noisy at night. Overpriced grossly.

Check in was difficult. I received no detailed check in info, and when I buzzed to be let in, the person answering was gruff and didn't direct me to the floor for reception. She was not welcoming. I later found that info on a smaller plaque above eye level to the side of the main entry door. Better communication before arrival would have been helpful.

The room was sufficient to our needs, but the toilet was broken, rocked when you sat on it, and the flush button was not connected. You had to hold it in perfect position before being able to depress it to flush. There was no toilet paper, no key for the in room safe, and the shower was in disrepair.

Although we were told to call if we needed anything, the communal phone was broken. It was preferable to make do and buy our own toilet paper than pay for an international phone call on my cell.

Location was excellent, and the property was secure.

The manager is a thief. He charged us 150.00 for an extra night. He is the one that cleans the rooms and makes it very very bad. The people across the street at the restaurant said that every body complains about him.

No reception, no service. The blanket is so dirty seems like never washed. The room is so small and there is no chair in the room. The toilet does not have enough space to sit down on it. The water of shower is so strong and it is easily to spread the water everywhere. When the hot water comes it is too hot, after that, it turns to very cold water. I felt cold each time when i took a shower, or got burned with the very hot water. In the midnight, a lot of noise came from outside, seems like somebody tried to use a key to open my door. The power was cut during my stay. I tried to call the reception, but he refused to pick up my phone. I did not know when i will get back the electricity. The hallway wss so dark without any window. I had to get into my room by walking a long dark hallway. My cell phone almost out of battery, I felt so scared at that time, no power no connection without cell phone. It was terrible experience. I will never recommend this place.

You get what you pay for. It's not a four-star hotel, it's a four-star value for money. Staff is accommodating. It's clean.

I recommend you ask for a room away from the front windows, as there are two discos across the street which draw a loud crowd until the wee hours.

The room itself was good, but the street was so noisy until 6 am, right below my balcony there are a bunch of bars or clubs and I could barely sleep.
But to make things worse at 9 am, someone in the building, maybe the owner or a guest, started making so much noise, cleaning something up, or doing some construction work, but it was insane. I hope there was a good reason for that noise, yet no one apologized when I left or explained anything.

And to not mention there's a noisy bar below your room is criminal, I would've found another place.
Plus the check out is at 11 am, it should be 12 as in most places

The property doesn’t have An elevators, the hotel is on the 3rd floor of the building, the air conditioning is terrible and on top of that it is controlled by management or owner and put on at 11 or 12 o’clock at night. Meanwhile, the weather was 90 degrees outside. Horrible experience.

Not bad for a budget stay

I’m not high maintenance so this was fine for me but there were a few things which could’ve been a deal breaker for some. There’s no elevator and the Hostal is on the 3rd level and for most of my stay the lights in the stairwell and hallway were not working so it was very dark. Other than that the staff was very nice and helpful. The location is excellent! Most sights I visited were about a 10 minute walk away. I didn’t have to use the metro cause it was that easy getting around on foot. Good place to stay if you’re on a budget.

My sister wanted to take a one hour nap, and the woman at the front desk said “shower ok, sleep in bed no”. I should have just said she was taking a massive dump in the room (this was at 2 pm) I’ve a private room for a reason, that reason being I like my space. If the woman the second day had been there there’d be no problem. Avoid if you have family checking in at a different hotel later... and there’s no free shuttle at all, and no blackout curtains

The hotel was a little hard to find with the construction around it but it was a pleasant stay. The room is very comfortable and has air conditioning. Close to the metro, tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants. It was a little outdated but clean and friendly. Great value for price.

AMAZING LOCATION

AMAZING LOCATION!!!! Clean room, perfect for a budget traveler who wants a nice clean room in the heart of the city. We will definitely stay here again when we go back to Madrid. If you're on the fence about staying here give it a try. There is NO ELEVATOR so be aware that you have to climb 3 flights of stairs, which wasn't a problem for us, but it might be for others.

It is on an extremely loud street making it nearly impossible to sleep even with music headphones on all night. The condition of the place is quite poor compared to the other five places I stayed in Spain. It did not feel clean or taken care of and we were given the bare minimum with toiletries/supplies including only one cup for two people. I would never stay there again or recommend it. And wifi was horrible and no one was available to problem solve at the front desk. I stayed in Barcelona, Corboda, Seville, Granada and have stayed in Madrid previously. This is not worth the price for what you get.

Great value room , fantastic location

I stayed only the one night and was very happy with the room for the price . Location is fantastic right next to the Plaza de Santa Ana and is very central to all the tourist sights and plenty of good restaurants and bars . It is obviously not a luxury hotel but is very clean with excellent English speaking staff . Madrid bars stay open late so there is some noise at night but the plus side to that is that it is very quiet in the morning !!! Hot clean shower , clean bed , helpful staff, wi-fi was ok , fantastic location . I would certainly recommend it if you just want a good no frills base to explore the beautiful city of Madrid .

This hostel is perfect for a stay very central easy walking distance to everything, friendly staff very clean only problem may be the stairs for older people.The city is a very beautiful one however found on hop on hop off tour you need to get off as the trees block all the buildings and you cannot take any photos, be prepared for a lot of beggers as they are everywhere. Lots of fab restaurantes around but avoid cinco Jotas as the lady serving there is so rude she was unreal her manners did not excist no greeting threw the food at you when we got the wrong order not her problem and when we refused to pay for what we did not get said she would call police (we had not got the food she wanted us to pay for ) on a whole a nice city.

Great place to stay for those on a budget

Hostal San Isidro is a great place to stay if you are on a tight budget. Our room was in good condition, the bathroom was clean, and the staff was very nice. But, the best thing about the hotel was its location. San Isidro is just a 15 minute walk to the Prado Museum and numerous other attractions, and there are 3 Metro stops that very close by. I would highly recommend it!

チェックイン時間内に行ったのに、レセプションに人がいませんでした。また関係者は全員英語が喋れず、連絡先の番号にかけても会話できません。2時間ほど遅れてオーナーがやってきましたが、その間ドアの前でずっと待たないといけなかったのは最悪でした。また部屋も壁紙が剥がれていたり、ガードローブのドアノブが壊れていたり、ロビーの天井から壊れてソファに砂が落ちてきたりしていて、お世辞にも清潔でも快適でもありません。
立地はマドリードのまさしく中心部のど真ん中にあり、最高です。しかし、できれば他のホテルを選んだ方がいいと思います。おすすめはできません。

Het personeel van de receptie heel vriendelijk. Wat ik minder vond was veel geluidsoverlast van disco bezoekers dat schuin tegen Hostal lag. Ging tot vrij laat in de ochtend door. Uit de douche kwam amper warm water en de badkuip kan best één opknap beurt gebruiken.

El recepcionista Michael excelente, muy amable y muy dispuesto y con excelente actitud, sin embargo el hotel está muy descuidado, el tapiz en partes despegado, los muebles viejos son barnizar, hubo en error a la hora de la llegada pero en todo momento contamos contamos con el apoyo del recepcionista. Buena ubicación latina que no le den el mantenimiento debido de pintura, etc....

Sejour correct. La chambre et la sdb étaient propres. L' hotel se trouve a 5mn de la Puerta del Sol donc excellement bien situé. On a pu laisser nos bagages ( moyennant 2 euros) jusqua 18h. Tres pratique !

En cuanto a la habitación individual básica, en las características incluye baño propio, no es cierto, es compartido. La habitación no llega a los 6 M2 y da a la calle principal, con exceso de ruido, no es lo mejor para descansar. La cama no resulta cómoda.

La cama no era muy cómoda y tuvimos que pedir mantas porque solo tenía una sábana.
El baño no estaba claro si era privado o no, porque estaba en el pasillo.
El dosificador de jabón eran unas botellas de lavavajillas rellenadas.
Ninguna ventana exterior en toda la planta.
Por lo demás, estaba bien situado y no se oía ningún ruido de la calle. El recepcionista nos atendió sin ningún problema.

Experiência muito ruim! O quarto não tem absolutamente nada a ver com as fotos do site, nada a ver! Parecem terem sido mexidas no Photoshop! O atendimento do recepcionista é ok. O ruim mesmo são as instalações, o quarto tem um cheiro horrível de xixi misturado com desinfetante barato, esse cheiro impregnou no meu pijama que dava enjoo.. o banheiro é pessimo! Ele é compartilhado (já sabíamos) mas ele é super mal cuidado, o negócio de colocar papel higiênico está quebrado então o papel fica em cima da privada - super anti-higiénico! O porta sabão é um negócio velho e amassado de plástico! Custa 1 euro um porta sabão novo!! E esse hostel não é barato não, pra ser tão mal cuidado! O chuveiro é pessimo, a água sai de frente e não de cima e a água quente acaba em 2 minutos e não volta sendo assim tomamos banho gelado todos os dias!! O quarto tem um guarda-roupa enorme mas que eles colocam uns móveis velhos dentro com cabides quebrados, pra que?! Com certeza o pior de tudo é o cheiro!! Não é pq é “econômico” que precisa ser sujo e mal cuidado!
Os únicos pontos positivos são a localização e o elevador! O recepcionista nunca estava lá na chegada dos hóspedes de chegaram durante a semana, fazendo com que eles ficassem lá tocando a campainha sem parar e como não tem isolamento acústico nos quartos nós ouvíamos tudo!
De resto, não volto e não recomendo!!

La estancia no era lo que se publicitaba en la página, las fotos de la habitación no corresponden con lo que te encuentras al llegar.
Ropa de cama sucia, las toallas sucias, habitación sucia, las camas sin hacer.

Destacar la amabilidad del encargado que nos atendió que hizo todo lo posible por cambiarnos de habitación y poder tener una estancia agradable.

Il faut dire que pour 100 euros la nuit, c'est une prestation lamentable : personne à l'arrivée, porte close, ascenseur en panne, pas de garde de valise, attente à la porte dans la rue, fenêtre qui ne ferme pas.
