Great location in central Madrid and many restaurants nearby. The beds are comfortable. However their booking policy is very deceiving. I booked the hotel through Expedia but the front desk lady insisted that I pay them directly and have to choose to pay in US doollar with their exchange rate. So we ended up paying $40 more than what was quoted by Expedia. Ironically on the receipt it was stated that we were given the choice to pay Euro or US dollar.
There is no living room in this apartment, just two bedrooms and a kitchenette. There is no coffee or tea provided, no coffee pot either. If you want to cook, you will need to buy cooking oil and salt as none of the basic spices are provided. It looks like there is a washer but again no soap is provided. There is no paper towels or tissue paper provided either. The hot water tank is very small and water temperature is very hard to adjust. After two people take a shower, the third person has to wait for hours before the water gets warm again.
The towels of this place are paper thin, the cheapest kind I have never seen before at a hotel. It took a long time to warm up the room and it never got up to the cozy temperature we wanted.
There is no closet in the second bedroom and no place to hang your clothes. If you want to keep the luggage at this place for a few hours after you check out, your luggage will be put in an open air area with no cover above.
Overall this is not a comfortable place for travelers.

The location was great. We had an issue where we walked by check in as no-one was there and it looked more like an office than a check in desk.

The online pictures of the hotel in Expedia were far more attractive than reality, which had a bit of an industrial vibe in the hallways.

The breakfast was decent and in the restaurant next door (upstairs).

The location is in an alley with restaurants, charming and in the center of all the main attractions, 20 minutes walk from most.

There was a kitchen that we didn't use but good for longer stays.

Staying will depend on you priorities, if you want a nicer environment this is not the place, but if you want to be central, need the capability to cook or if the price is right, this will work fine.

The location was excellent, above a bustling lane of restaurants right in the centre of Madrid and very close to everything, just around the corner from the Puerta del Sol. The associated restaurant downstairs (which provided breakfast) was great. The apartment itself was comfortable enough, though a little tired and probably due for an update. It lacked a few basic things like reading lamps, plugs for sinks, coffee maker or cafetière, and perhaps a few laundry pods could have been supplied.

Overall was adequate, but very mediocre especially for the price (which seemed very high). Check-in process was ok - even though in another building. Staff was friendly. The room was disappointing for sure - it was quite worn looking and there were gashes/gouges and/or water damage/cracking in many of the walls. Unloike other places we stayed in Spain, the unit wasnt stocked with anything (not even water or coffee), the wi-fi was extremely slow for the first few hours and then stopped working all together for the rest of the 2 night stay. There was some construction/remodeling going on in the building, so you had to walk through what felt like a construction site.
The two main positives for this unit is had a very good central location and the complimentary breakfast (at restaurant next door) was very nice.

The property was right done the street from the main plaza and directly above a great nightlife environment. We would just lay down at the end of a busy day and open the window and just listen to the sounds of people as we relaxed and fell asleep. The metro was really easy to get to and the staff was attentive and the building was clean and felt safe. Would go back for sure.

Positives. Location is fantastic, in the middle of everything and close to metro but off the Main Street and quiet enough. Staff working us very helpful and friendly.
Negatives. Apartment is small and dated, furniture beat up. Frying pan all scraped and unsafe to use. I boiled water for my tea in 6-7 liter pot as there was none smaller. Dryer is ancient. Bathroom has very little counter space.

Para comenzar debo aclarar que la dirección que aparece en Expedia no es la dirección correcta en la cual se va ha hospedar . Después de viajar 10 horas y dirigirme a esta dirección mi familia y yo tuvimos que caminar con maletas 20 minutos por el centro de Madrid hasta llegar a la dirección correcta la cual no tiene nada que ver con las fotos que muestran en Expedia .
Tuve problemas con la calefacción y traté de contactarlos usando la aplicación y no hubo respuesta .
El motivo por el cual decidí rentar este apartamento es porque viajaba con familia y niños y quería poder lavar la loza , poder tener una cocina etc el apartamento NO está Preparado para eso hubiera sido una mejor elección un hotel , el precio fue excesivo y el apartamento no tenía las condiciones para el precio que pagamos .

No volvería a rentar una experiencia horrible !

While the apartment was okay, there was no tea making facility with no jug and no coffee or tea bag’s. The room was small. It was quite noisy until late every night however there are some that might be okay with that. The reception were not particularly friendly. It was convenient to shops and food with a lot of nightly activity in the plaza. The lift did not do to all floors

Overpriced for what it is. Our room looked nothing like the picture. Kitchen was basically in a closet and the bathroom was so dark even with the light on. Breakfast included at the restaurant downstairs was just ok. A/C was strong. Good location - a few mins from Puerta de Sol. The hotel is inconvenient in that there is only a tiny elevator on the 2nd floor so you need to carry your luggages up there first and then only 1 person 1 luggage fit in the elevator at a time. Also, the lights in the stairwell frequently shut off and the steps are uneven and dangerous. I did not appreciate that when I paid with my credit card, the machine gives you the option to be charged in Euros or CAD. The reception forced me to choose CAD which includes an up charge in the conversion rate. It ended up costing me an extra $50 which was irritating. Would not recommend.

Fantastic location in heart of Madrid

Great location !
Close to everything in Petra del Sol!
Lots of great restaurants.
The only downside is noise at night , some nights it is getting difficult to sleep .
Rather than that the room conditions, cleanliness and AC we’re all working great. WiFi also sometimes didn’t work well.
It is not a high end hotel However the location and other mentioned points above will cover it.

My wife and I just spent 6 nights at this Madrid hotel. Here’s reasons to consider this hotel; maximum 20 minutes walking distance to major attractions; 5 minutes walk to subway station “Sol”; breakfast included; reasonable price for such a central location, and more importantly, a small hotel with lots of adequately dedicated and attentive staff. We found all staff friendly and responsive and in particular, Natalia to be extraordinary.
Other reviews will point out the negatives which we also found but again consider; This hotel is right in the Central area with lots of tourists like yourself looking for restaurants, bars, entertainment, souvenir shops, culture, history etc. You will get it all here and as long as you are a conscious tourist in a big City, you will find this area very safe. All our interactions during our 6 days were by all standards positive hassle free ones. We were here in early May and we found Madrid very vibrant and busy. I do not think Madrid sleep too much during the tourist season. Yes some of the rooms (the smaller ones) are noisy and they also have very quiet rooms(the bigger ones). If you want a quiet room its better to send an email to the hotel directly. Internet access was adequate. If you want high speed 24/7 internet maybe you should stay home.

Unable to have taxis drop you off at hotel you must walk to hotel. In addition, elevator does start at first level you must carry luggage to first set of stairs. Rooms are not all accessible with elevator. Hotel is in the middle of strip of restaurants and bars which people are out partying until 5am and unable to sleep.

Excellent location, 5 minutes to Plaza Mayor. Amazing selection of bars and restaurants in the locale. However you must try the restaurant that is part of the apartments. Food was great as are all the staff. Breakfast also served there and was great each morning.

Staff at check in friendly, apartments cleaned daily which we didn’t expect, towels also changed daily.

This is the perfect set-up for younger and middle-aged travelers/couples who travel light, move fast, and are not particularly concerned with a spacious room. Not so much so for seniors like us in our early 70's lugging multiple bags. We are pretty spry and fit for our age but there were a couple of steep stairways we had to negotiate which was a pain with luggage at check-in and check-out. We were on the 4th floor and there is a tiny elevator that goes to floors 2 and 3 as I remember, so that helped. Street scene was a bit noisy into the later hours. The breakfast set up was decent. Overall, a good value for the money.

Very good price and good size for a family of 4. Great location and good level of cleanliness. It comes with a full kitchen and washing machine which is big plus!

Hard to find but worth it

Nice central location. The noise level at night is high from foot traffic and talking and dining on the street until the wee morning hours. We closed the door to the terrace and put in ear plugs and we slept fine. It was lovely to walk downstairs and find many cafes to choose from. Warning: if you are unfamiliar with the area, finding the hotel is a challenge as it is completely unlabeled. Just an unmarked door with an address sandwiched between two businesses. We passed it several times before we got up the nerve to ring the bell for entry. Cute place with charm. Clean. It was nice to have a kitchenette.

The staff was wonderful. They stowed our luggage until our check in. Our plane had arrived very early. They were very helpful with all questions. Not good access if one is handicapped, but fine for those who can walk up a few steps. Most areas accessible with a small elevator. I would definitely stay there again. Corina was particularly helpful and friendly, and Irena was very quick to help out with luggage or whatever was needed.

This hotel is located in an excellent location, just steps away from Puerta del Sol square, and close to a number of restaurants, bars, pubs and shopping. Very convenient location. It is also steps away from the Sol station, the most central station on the Metro. A great location to base yourself! Breakfast was included, and I found it of excellent quality, superior as compared to the many other hotel breakfasts I've tried. Staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating, however, the hotel staff speak no English - be prepared to use Google Translate on your phone! The internet was also extremely slow, to the point where it was not usable.

Great location, terrible wifi- only were able to use wifi in mornings around 10am and even then it was not great!! Standard room has a small roof window, so it is very dark and feels like closet. The good thing about this room is that it is quiet, except for the other guests that has rooms on this floor that bangs doors when they come in! Kitchenette is a closet, so not an extra space in room, you open the doors and there is a small fridge, sink and 2 plate cooktop.

Beds were not very comfortable, but that's really the only negative. Room was clean with nice kitchenette, air conditioned and cozy with a good bathroom and shower.

Despite being above a restaurant and noisy street, the room was perfectly quiet. Granted, we were on the fourth floor, but still impressive given the rowdy night life.

Staff was great and attentive and the location was fantastic! Breakfast was also very good.

You can't get a car down the street though so you do have to walk like a half block and check in desk is on the third floor of one of two buildings.

Great location which leads to very old building which leads to only one tiny window which leads to dark room with poor choice of wall finish (color and surface) which leads to a room that you think is clean, but it's hard to tell--which leads to a room that you only want to be in at night which is probably just as well because it is in a great location after all. Bathroom very new, but again very dark. Very nice lady at the desk. I would stay here again because the price was spectacular for the location, but I would also be tempted to try something different.

Ok, So it was tuck away in a narrow street that's very hard to find unless you have a very detail map. The single room had no windows. I wanted to sleep but the reception was right next to my room and it was very noisy. Nice breakfast with fresh toast to start the day.

Great location, food, and staff!

This is a great little place in an amazing location. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfasts were also very good. It's a bit hard to find as there isn't any signage outside so you need to go by the address listed and press the intercom but it's right in the middle of great restaurants, nightlife and downtown Madrid. The reasons I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 are that it's not easy to sleep there if you're sensitive to noise and the wifi is spotty.

We had the room for 6 persons. Two double beds are actually queen size beds by American standards. These two queen beds each has a separate/private room. The beds are soft and comfortable. The unit has a stove, cups, plates, utensils, and a microwave, for people who like to cook. we felt cold when getting in the room, so we turned the air conditioners on. First we set it to 25C, but still not warm for us, then we set to 30C; that was ok for us. The staffs are very friedly, and the breakfast is good. We enjoyed our stays there. So convenient to visit the plaza of Mayor, the Royal Palace, museums, the Retiro Park, restaurant, bars, etc.

Great location! The hotel was in the city center, walking distance to everything. The little street that the hotel was on was so cute. Lots of cafes and restaurants. The only \"bad\" part was the elevator didn't start until one floor up. That normally wouldn't have been bad for us, but my husband was sick the first day. Regardless, it was a great stay. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Good powerful shower, plenty of toiletries and clean towels. The room has a small kitchenette and fridge. There is air condition in the room. Very easy to get anywhere in Madrid. We had breakfast in the restaurant everyday, bread, cheese, fruits, yoghurt, and freshly prepared toast, juice, tea and coffee freshly made for each guest.

Great location, great value for money

The hotel is in the perfect location if you want to be in the center of the touristic Sol part of Madrid. It's filled with cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. My room was located to the back of the building (with only a tiny window facing an inside corridor so while I was not exposed to any noise, I didn't have much light in the room). The room was a little stuffy but the AC worked well. It's got very simple decor but all the basics are there and wifi worked well.
There are also rooms facing the street, which I'd assume, can get pretty loud.
All in all if you're looking to be in the center of the city, you'll be happy there.
Breakfast is served in a restaurant below the apartments.

OK But Would Look for Something Else

Older hotel in a very good location. But the decor was pretty unappealing. Small elevator that stopped between floors so some stairs required to get to the elevator and more stairs to the room. Very room and tiny shower. Our AC unit stopped working and they could not fix it so we had to change rooms. At most a 3 star experience. Probably would not stay here again, but it was OK overall.

Great location, horrible aircon and internet

Apartment was in a great location, unfortunately the AIRCON in our room was horrendous, was like a sauna in our room 24/7, after nagging the staff we finally moved rooms at 12 in the morning, 2nd room was better but still a let down interms of aircon.

Now to the wireless internet, I have had better internet on a boat in thailand in the middle of the ocean. The internet is a joke and needs to be fixed.

Staff were friendly at times but also grumpy at times.

I would not stay again unless the above mentioned was fixed.

Excelente!

Clean room with wifi, kitchen, and bathroom. Three of us stayed here and had a three twin bed set up, which was perfect for us since we just needed a place to sleep. I would definitely stay here again as the location is coveniently near the Sol metro station with areas to shop and eat. If you want to quickly immerse yourself in the Madrid culture, I'd stay here.

Not up to usual Expedia standard ;disappointing.

Has an elevator but 14 steps up to it and 8 more up to our room. Does not mention the stairs on website. Very little kitchen stuff. No kettle, no sharp knife for food prep or chopping board. No plug in the sink no storage space for non refrigerator food.. No working tap in kitchen for half our stay. Had to wash up in bathroom next to lavatory.
We had to request the promised microwave which arrived after we had cooked dinner. We had to request cups and tea towels and saucepans,
No window to outside, only one with a view of internal piping. Bit like spending 8 days in a cave. No idea of the weather until you went out into it.
Unhelpful manager whose excuse was that it was not a hotel even though all websites talk about hotel amenities etc.
Really difficult stay as stairs really hurt my arthritic foot and knee.
Good location, could walk to main museums. Madrid has wonderful museums.
The young women who work there were lovely. Tried to be as helpful as they were able to given limitations of hotel and manager.
But found week stressful and unable to relax when we had to have lots of staff members coming into our room to try to get the tap working. Nothing done about it's repair from Tuesday until Friday at about 8pm. Not good enough.
Breakfast alright in bar next door.
Room was clean and well serviced each day

Super beliggenhet. Flott frokost. Hit kommer vi gjerne tilbake! Vi var familie på 4: 2 voksne, 2 ungdom.
Sentralt for en rimelig penge. Kort avstand til metro, butikker og alt man trenger.
Ingen problemer ved inn- og utsjekk. Trivelige ansatte.
Leiligheta vi hadde begynner å bli litt sliten (blant annet lekkasje fra vårt bad til kjøkken under), men var ren - og det er det viktigste. Det største minuset var lyden: Mye bråk fra gata (det er vel prisen man betaler for å bo såpass sentralt) og svært lytt mellom rom / leiligheter. Så hvis du skal bo her, husk ørepropper.
