I really enjoyed my stay at the Relais. The room was clean, and an extra sleeping space was added for my son. The AC (heating) gets toasty when needed. Shower was great. The bed was comfortable. I got the room with a terrace- very nice!

Colosseum and other attractions were a short walking distance. The Monti District is safe and so has so may restaurants and stores nearby. There is a laundry business steps from the hotel.

Reception and hospitality staff were friendly, amazing and accommodating.

The toilet was broken and the windows wouldn’t open contacted the desk. He came up and said the toilet was fine. Yeah, you could see the button was pushed in and wouldn’t flush. I ended up fixing it myself… Broke again went to the front desk he said the afternoon guy would look after he couldn’t leave. The property was clean easy to find convenient to get around typical European Small.

Hotel was in a really handy location a short walk from the colosseum. Room and bathroom were spacious, and loved the little terrace.
I found the bed comfortable but my partner didn’t as there was only one flat pillow, so he didn’t get good sleep. There was also an issue with the toilet that ran water constantly making quite a lot of noise, and the heated towel rack in the bathroom wouldn’t turn off so the bathroom was quite hot all the time.
Overall a good stay, and I would recommend the hotel!

We really enjoyed our 7-night stay at Relais Monti and would highly recommend it. The hotel is in a great neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, shops, and groceries nearby, plus a laundry shop right on the same street (we dropped clothes off and picked them up just a few hours later). Two excellent gelato places and a metro stop are within a 3-minute walk, the Colosseum is 15 minutes away, and Termini station is also close. The area felt safe and very local.

The building is older (with a very slow elevator), but the rooms are modern, clean, and well equipped. We wished there was a coffee machine, but the kettle with instant coffee, tea, and hot chocolate was fine, and bottled water was provided the first night. The only downside was that the sink couldn’t be filled, so in-room laundry wasn’t possible.

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the rooftop terrace is a lovely bonus. Overall, a comfortable, convenient base for exploring Rome.

The location is prime. Walking distance to very good restaurants mainly Bar Monti (3 minute walk). Very close to Roma Train Station and Cavour Station. Rome Colosseum is 15 minutes walk. Around the corner is a water fountain. The only thing elevator is very small and slow lol. But area is safe.

The place is in a great area, close to major attractions, with good restaurants and cafes, but the hotel itself was one of our worst experience as we could not sleep due to a leaking toilet that made a loud noise and kept us awake all night. Issue was noted when we checked-in and entered the room. We informed the front desk. They promised to fix while we went out for dinner but did not. I booked this hotel thrusting the rating given by Orbitz but other than the good location the place was a major disappointment and a nightmarish experience. We wanted to rest before our 10 hours flight back home but could not. I will file a formal complaint with Orbitz.

Hotel is very close to the Cavour metro station which is only one stop from the terminal station so very convenient. Lovely cafes on near street for cheap breakfast and dinner. There is a lift so is great for heavy luggage. Beds are comfy and staff are helpful.

The property is very quiet and relatively close to everything, additionally the staff is very polite and friendly. It’s easy to access and they made it super convenient by allowing us to drop off our bags prior to check in. Would definitely stay again. Only problem I had was I wish the room was a bit colder. The AC has a limit and at times the room did not feel cool. Other than that excellent place to stay.

The team at Relais Monti were excellent. They reached out via WhatsApp prior to arrival to coordinate check in, were friendly, and helpful- particularly Maura who brought my travel companion ice for an injury.
Our room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was very spacious. The air conditioning worked well in our room and on our floor. We also had a lovely patio with sitting area. The property was clean and close to amenities such as restaurants, laundromat, and public transit. About a 10-15 minute walk from the train station if you like to walk.
Breakfast was tasty and included: pastries, eggs, antipasti (olives, peppers, cucumbers), coffee options, yogurt and cereal (and more). We ate on the patio- beautiful way to start the morning. There is an elevator, which is small and slow (and hot), but beats going up 4 flights of stairs with luggage. Would stay here again! It was very comfortable and felt safe.

Pleasant stay

We stayed at Relais Monti for 5 nights and it was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful. We dropped the baggage before check in. The hotel is close to everything. 2 minutes walk to restaurants, laundry, metro station. You can buy food and drink downstairs at Carrefour Express until 11pm. 20 minutes walk to main attractions.

Great place to stay when exploring Rome

Lovely place in a charming and not too busy district of Rome. You can easily walk to & from Roma Termini (main train station) & the Colleseum from here. Great restaurants nearby & lovely cafes plus artisan shops. Really enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast that was supposed to start at 7 started at 7:20 when an angry cook finished her late cooking 🍳
The balcony wasn’t clean, after sitting in a chair my whole back was black from dirt.

It was close to transportation and food options also for walking to the sights in Rome. It had an elevator which was really nice so you didn’t have to climb the stairs with baggage. We also felt very safe. And the manager’s were very nice to work with.

A Few Days in Rome

Great location halfway between Termini and the Colosseum. East walk to metro. Lots of restaurants within a ten-minute walk. Nice room, with good front desk staff. Slow elevator, but they have on.

This hotel was perfect for our city break. It’s a short walk to most of the main tourist attractions. On the same street there is an abundance of really nice restaurants and cafes.
The room was perfectly clean and the cleaners done a great job each day.
We required a late check in and the hotel sent very simple and straightforward instructions to allow us to get into our room.
If you’re looking for a hotel in a great location to explore the city I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Very comfortable hotel with great staff, nice rooftop breakfast area. Room was big enough for the three of us for a few nights, clean, well air-conditioned, and reliable wifi. Location is great, lots of really good restaurant options right there. Laundry service and a grocer very close, too. Easy walk to the Colosseum, Roma Termini, metro station, and bus stops. Would stay here again!

Llegas hay una puerta grande tocas un código y entras y hay en pasillo grande que te lleva a un elevadorcito que tarda mucho para llegar a su destino para solo 2 adultos o 1 adulto con maletas. La recepcionista Leslie fue muy amable y atenta y trato de resolver todo en nuestra estadía aunque muchas cosas sin solución.Nuestra habitación era una de las más caras que se encuentran en el 4to piso junto al área de desayuno donde desde las 6:30am comienzan a trabajar 😔 la
Habitación tenía una terraza pero dentro era muy pequeña, las sábanas de la cama al igual que las toallas son lijas y aquel aire acondicionado no enfriaba pasamos calor. El
Baño con las antiguas, antihigiénicas y peligrosas bañaderas me gané un resbalón entrando y aún conservo tremendo morado en la rodilla. Higiene de la habitación muy mala el primer día se me ocurrió caminar descalza y mis pies eran negros, después me di cuenta que nunca limpiaban el piso ni los muebles el polvo tremendo, solo tender la cama y cambiar toallas que una vez nos dejó sin toallas y cuando llegué a la noche tuve que ir a pedir. Roma es una ciudad magnífica nada empañó nuestro viaje.

The hotel was fine but not really worth the money. I don’t think the rating is deserved.
Location was good (pasta Urbana across the street was amazing).
Staff were very nice, they called us a cab to the airport and came down to make sure we got it.
Air conditioner was very noisy and made it hard to sleep. Room was fairly small (although the bathroom was large, almost the same size as the room).
We were on the top floor by the breakfast area which was a bit of a pain, they prepare quite early and can wake us up. There is also no entry way so if you open the door you’re practically in the kitchen and anyone can see your whole room.
The breakfast itself was fairly disappointing.
They only provide one key card which is irritating if you are traveling with someone else.
The elevator is very small (standard in the area) and very slow (takes over a minute and a half to go to the 4th (top) floor.

Getting there wasn't easy but once you find it, the hotel was very nice. Very nice staff, fun, safe, lively area with lots of shopping, dining and close to many big sites. Rooms were kept very clean and it appeared safe in the area. Highly recommend. The only issue we had was finding the hotel the first time and in the entry there was a bad smell.

Hotel was dirty upon entry, found clothes from previous customer, shower doors broken, bugs in the room, mold growing in the shower, breakfast is definitely not worth the 15 euro per person per day, got locked out of hotel for 5 hrs we had to sleep in the lobby of the sister hotel (major hotel) because they were unable to help us until 7am and when we asked our hotel (Relais monti) they could not accommodate us or reimburse us in anyway. Very bad customer service and unprofessional

Perfect stopover

Just to confirm we stayed at the smaller hotel - there are two of the same name 50 yards apart. Very friendly welcome and good advice. Brilliant location as could walk from station and then down to colosseum. Restaurants, supermarkets, deli etc. very close.

I was greatly impressed with the cleanliness of the room, it was spacious and well maintained. The receptionist was very diligent and helpful. My only remark is about the staff in the galley on the 4th floor, they were quite loud every morning, which made it hard to sleep in. Aside from that, I highly recommend this place.

I had an amazing stay at Relais Monti. The hotel is very nice. The beds were comfortable, our room was spacious and comfortable, and we also had a terrace which we enjoyed very much. The hotel staff was wonderful. They were extremely accommodating - they stored our luggage when we arrived, they offered an early check in as our flight arrived very early, they called Italotreno on my behalf (I do not speak italian) to assist with a problem I had with my ticket, they arranged a taxi for me to leave at 5AM. There are probably more things I could say, but that was really above and beyond for me. Filipe especially stood out. I thought the cleaning service did a very good job as well. This hotel is located in a great area for restaurants and shopping. It is also conveniently located to the Colosseum and Train station. I found it to be very walkable to most of the major Rome destinations. We also took advantage of the rooftop lunch at the Major Hotel and would highly recommend. The food was very interesting - so not for picky eaters - but it was delicious and the service was top notch. Sincere thanks to everyone at Relais Monti for a best in class hospitality experience!

For the price we paid, this hotel was vastly expensive and offered very basic amenities. The shower had no power, the bed was as hard as stone, the curtains were broken and there was mould in the bathtub. In addition, the lift was so slow that we could never actually use it if we wanted to go and see the city. In fairness the staff were nice and it was relatively clean. The hotel just needs some love.
