The staff a check-in was extremely helpful, the lobby, very clean and inviting. The staff invited us to the rooftop bar which we took advantage of in the view was beautiful… Just need to come when it’s cooler maybe in the fall or winter. The front desk was extremely helpful for sightseeing and restaurant bar choices around the area, but I would definitely stay there again. The location was good for a walking tour around the major sites of the old city, but probably a Personal tour on a golf cart has offered by the staff would’ve been less strenuous, but the walk did as good! This is one of my favorite hotels. To start with, the staff are very friendly; the cleanliness is excellent, and the breakfasts are great. The location is perfect—you can walk to the Colosseum, and if you need to do some shopping, there is a pharmacy, a grocery store, a gelato shop, and restaurants all less than a minute away. I highly recommend it; it’s perfect.

This is one of my favorite hotels. To start with, the staff are very friendly; the cleanliness is excellent, and the breakfasts are great. I loved the location of the hotel as it was central to everything - I actually just stumbled across the colleseum exploring on my first evening in rome. The rooms were a little small but that was to be expected of a boutique hotel in the heart of historic rome. I loved the nespresso machines in the rooms and everyday, there was fresh bottled water. The staff were friendly and helped with all my queries. I would definately stay here again!

The Major was a gem of a hotel. We liked the location, close to Termini station, which made access to trains, FCO, Vatican, etc. quite easy. The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous (Carla, Lou, Momo, the wait staff of the rooftop bar). The rooftop bar with its views of St Maria Maggiore Basilica was a nice surprise. The room was spacious and up to date, with great A/C (we were in Rome during a major heat wave). We had a triple room, which had a comfortable king bed plus a rollaway. We travel often (big brand loyalists) but found this hotel on Delta Stays and very much enjoyed it.

We stayed at the hotel for one night and overall had a pleasant experience. Our standard room (310) was spacious, clean, and had everything needed for a short stay. The reception staff was friendly, especially the Asian girl at check-in who was very kind and patient. The location was convenient, within walking distance to the train station, and there was an easy taxi stand nearby for getting to shopping areas. The only downside was that our corner room facing the busy intersection could be a bit noisy at times with street traffic and ambulances, but for one night it did not bother us much. Overall, it was a good value stay.

Nice boutique hotel, very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I loved my room even it was not so big, but it had a nice comfortable bed and high quality bedding, very spacious shower, also there were all small things including water, coffee machine, tea maker that make stay more comfortable.
The breakfast was on top roof restaurant with amazing view. The food was delicious and there were different choices. Highly recommend and I will be back here.

Beautiful room and amazing service by the staff. My only complaint was the breakfast took over 45 minutes to deliver, and I became sick after eating just a few bites. The buffet quality was also poor for this level of hotel. Great location, fantastic rooms and service. I would just suggest eating outside the property.

Nice hotel with recent updates, location was good. Some issues with the TV buffering which they sent people to fix but couldn't. The site temperature was very hard to regulate and maintain, went quickly from scalding hot to freezing. There also was an unpleasant odor in the hallways and stairways.

We were so pleased with The Major (for the most part). Staff was great, hotel is beautiful, location is amazing… but it just wasn’t enough ac for us to sleep comfortably. We slept with the balcony doors open to get a cooler temp each night. We mentioned it to the front desk and they wanted to help, and said they would check on it… I think it’s a matter of perspective. We are from Texas and like it nice and cold! That was the only negative for us.

Our stay at The Major Hotel in Rome was absolutely amazing! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in the perfect location. One of the best parts was that everything was within walking distance — restaurants, shops, historical sites, and attractions were all so easy to get to. It made exploring Rome stress-free and enjoyable.

The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, always going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The room was well kept, and the overall atmosphere felt warm and inviting. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rome!

We stayed April26-30, 2026. The room was clean, great view of Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore. The room has updated decor, and spacious. Close to attractions, restaurants, taxi, train station. Amenities include robes, slippers, 1 small bottle of water, toilettries (luxury). Breakfast was good. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Air conditioner and heater were working. Noise level was better than I expected. The only issue we had was the smell, Rome is an ancient city with ancient plumbing, the smell coming from the bathroom was not pleasant. I suggested diffuser and the staff immediately gave us some.

Everyone was so friendly and attentive. Special shout out to the night manager, Momo. Communication was excellent. The rooms, bars, and hallways were super clean. The stairways had stains, and that was probably just a design issue. Nothing that the staff could control. There were a couple other room design issues, like no toilet paper holder in my first room, and the shower enclosures design causing lots of spill over, but they changed me efficiently after my first night. It’s a great location. Central to everything. I recommend the “French bed” rooms with balcony for fellow solo travelers.

Absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel, very well located right next to the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore and less than 10 mins walk from Termini train station. Within reasonable walking distance of most major tourist attractions.
Our room was stunning - very spacious, beautifully appointed and with separate dressing area.
The rooftop bar was great for views, although very expensive so we only went once.
Breakfast was a good selection - pastries, salads, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit/ yogurt / cereal, as well as scrambled eggs, bacon and bread for toasting. Hot drinks and juice were also available from the bar area.
We spoke to at least half a dozen staff members, all of whom were very friendly, informative and helpful.
I really can't think of a bad word to say about this hotel, it was a lovely stay.

Convenient to Roma Termini the main train station, so very easy from and back to the airport. In a less touristy neighborhood, Monti, so some better restaurants and still walkable, 15 -25 minutes tops to most sites. Sparkling clean and very friendly, welcoming staff. Stayed here twice at both the beginning and end of our trip and would 100% stay here again.

This was very nice hotel near lots of good restaurants and tourist sights. We had a lot of fun at the roof deck bar (loved the negoni trio and limoncello spritz) and the bedroom and bathroom were nicely updated. The hotel offered a private pickup from airport for $75, which was very convenient. It was close to several bus, tram and subway lines, which made it very easy to get around!

The property is perfectly located close to the main train station and it was an easy walk but it’s not so close you can hear the trains come and go.
It feels like an older building but they’ve done a great job updating the interior. The property and room was clean other than it seemed like our room hadn’t been occupied for sometime due to dust build up on some of the surfaces. Other than that very minor detail, everything else about the hotel was excellent! The staff were very friendly and accommodating and if you needed something they were very quick to acknowledge you through WhatsApp which is very convenient! And great experience overall

Two weeks and six hotels for our Europe vacation, and this was hands down our favorite hotel of the entire journey. Everything about the experience was outstanding. I received a message via WhatsApp from the hotel a couple of days prior to our arrival with details about our stay. Lou, who was working the front desk on our arrival, was kind, welcoming, and helpful. The room was AMAZING. Comfortable furniture, a large and spotless bathroom (which was connected to the room by a cool \"tunnel\", and a beautiful view of the Basilica and square. Honestly, this may be one of the most beautiful hotels we've ever stayed at. If I had to be critical about anything, it would be that the rooftop restaurant is very, very expensive. We went up on our last night planning on having dinner there, we ended up just having two glasses of wine -- those two glasses cost more than any of the dinners we had in Rome. But it is an amazing place to catch the sunset.

We stayed at Hotel Major for three nights, and honestly, it was a very frustrating experience from the very first night. The entire second floor, especially our room, had a strong sewer smell that made it extremely unpleasant to stay there.

We raised this immediately and asked for help or a room change. Instead of acknowledging the issue, the staff brushed it off, even though other reviews mention the same problem. When they finally agreed to move us, it had to be before 1 p.m., which was impossible since we had excursions starting at 9 a.m. They refused to accommodate a later change, which felt completely unreasonable.

Housekeeping also threw away our laundry detergent and toothbrushes. Maybe it was accidental, but it added to the frustration.

What really upset us was the air conditioning being turned off at night. The room became unbearably hot, and when we called at 1 a.m., it was switched back on within seconds. That made it feel like guest comfort was secondary to cost saving.

The manager, “Luigi,” was never available when we asked, yet somehow always in the background. He never once spoke to us directly and only appeared at checkout.

We had been looking forward to this trip for a long time, and this stay put a real damper on it. Very disappointing overall. I would not recommend this hotel.

Everything was wonderful here except with the fact that they did not have the air conditioner set up for cold air … and it was hot in the room . We made sure we selected hotels with AC but didn’t expect that in many places in Europe they control the temperature in your room . I could not sleep well for that reason . They said to open the window but since they don’t have screens in the windows I was afraid of a rat or something coming in …

Hotel Major was very clean with helpful and friendly staff all day and night. It is located just 5min walk from Roma Termini to get trains.
Location is quiet yet only 5 to 20min walk to major attractions and restaurants. We walked to Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps.
The room is clean but kinda hot overnight.
