Incredible resort. Plenty of pool space and deckchairs. We had used the wellness centre for the gym, jacuzzi and indoor pool which were all clean. The staff went above and beyond for us at every point of enquiry- they are truly a credit to Tivoli and our time would not have been half as good without their politeness and helpfulness. Ample food provided at mealtimes with lots of options for vegetarians. We felt so relaxed here.
We also enjoyed access to two beaches: one is a 10 minute walk across the bridge, and the other is accessible by hotel \"train.\" There are two bars that make alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
Our room was huge and was cleaned everyday.

My family of 6 including 4 children had an amazing time here. Everything you need is there for you, from the beautiful cuisine to the amazing entertainment areas.
Our children had an amazing time with plenty to do and the accommodation was magnificent. It was definitely a 5 star service with friendly staff to help you whenever needed. We will definitely be returning.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Felt very looked after and the food and facilities were of good quality. For the price we paid I would definitely say it is good value for money. The complementary train into Alvor town was also a lovely touch!

While the resort does cater for many people, the food was really not good, always cold. We’ve stayed at many fully catered resorts where the food was good.
While it has 3 family pools - they are on top of each other and the loungers are packed in. Making it incredibly uncomfortable and unpleasant.

Far too long to wait for check in. We then had to wait again for far too long once the room was ready. Lots of ants in one of our rooms.
Far too long to queue for drinks in the Shore bar. Not enough seating in the entertainment area for the amount of guests. Entertainment started too late - 21:30 is far too late for younger guests.

During my stay, I had a great time. The only thing I didn’t like was they didn’t have much food options during lunch only a barbecue and some snacks. I also didn’t like the difficulty of getting on and off the resort after 12 o’clock the parking was difficult as there is a Remote parking lot and sometimes the gate to enter and exit is locked. There was also this weird brown substance on the bathroom floor floors even after the cleaners would come once the floor got wet. This brown substance would come up from in between the tiles of the bathroom floor.
Besides those issues, the staff was very nice and the hotel was clean. The drinks at the bar were really good and when we did get food outside of the barbecue lunch at the Italian restaurant, I enjoyed the food. I also like the fact that there were multiple pools and one was strictly for adults. The rooms were also nice and tidy and housekeeping was the best.

Food is not the strong suit of this hotel. I understand that being an all inclusive hotel the gastronomic proposal is not gourmet but it could be a little better. The only dish that I loved was the Moqueca. The facilities and the service kind of make up for it though. I found some bugs in my room so that is something that could improve. The kids club is nice for parents, and for children as well.

Very nice resort, amazing staff and great activities for kids. Property is in good shape and rooms are spacious enough. For food, there are lots of choices, I would say they could do better for vegetarian options.

Kids pool was nice but needs tidying on the edges. Crazy golf was a hit and a nice play area. Kids disco was well received. I didn’t rate the evening entertainment, one night everyone thought it was a joke. We liked the daily outdoor bbq. Lovely beach and a quality land train to the town. Staff couldn’t be nicer.

Room service did a good job cleaning up, however, it turns out they don't replace the milk with the \"complimentary teas and coffees\" in the rooms and would only do this with a charge. In fact, when we rang up for some milk, reception said that it would be 45 Euros! Bear in mind, we had the Premium All-Inclusive package.
Many positives overall, but I must say the Premium All-Inclusive package needs rethinking. As it stands, I'm not sure what it really offers and when we next book, we wont be booking the Premium All-Inclusive Package.
Overall, we enjoyed our time there and will be returning.

The Tivoli Alvor is in a fantastic location, close to the beach and local amenities. The hotel itself looks quite new, and everything is nicely finished and well-maintained. The pools are beautiful, and overall the grounds are very attractive.
However, service was definitely a weak point. While a few staff members went above and beyond, the majority seemed disinterested and often lacked clear information. Check-in was chaotic (albeit understandably busy), but parking management was a real mess. After checking in, we tried to reserve spots at the specialty restaurants and spa, but nothing was available for our entire two-night stay, which was disappointing.
Food quality was okay — not bad, but not standout either. The buffet offered some variety, but again, nothing particularly memorable. Drinks were what you’d typically expect at an all-inclusive: made to the cheapest acceptable standard, with a clear push to encourage upgrading to the premium drinks package.
We mostly stayed around the adult pool, which was lovely, but the drinks offering there was very limited. There wasn’t a full bar nearby, meaning you had to walk quite a bit to get cocktails, which was a shame.
In short, it’s a beautifully located and designed resort with great potential, but they really need to improve the service experience to match the setting.

Nice holiday for families, but a couple can also enjoy it. Food was decent. Buffet was ok and varied options, but the restaurants were definitely better.

It was an amazing experience for me and the kids. From the warm welcome to the luxurious rooms, every detail was perfect. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the views were stunning. The dining options were outstanding—each meal was delicious and beautifully presented.

I wouldn’t suggest staying at this resort if your black skinned individual, I waited hours to be checked in watched others come after me and was checked in immediately to and not even a welcoming smile or welcome until I said something about my experience. It’s like my money wasn’t welcomed Overall it’s clean and the food was good, I would never stay here again though. Sad enough I travel all around the world and think my first experience at a 5 star resort .

Overall we had a great stay. The food and drink options were wonderful and up there with the best All Inclusive options we've had. A few things missing - margaritas missing from the cocktail menu and maple syrup for waffles/pancakes seem like obvious additions but that is nit-picking as options were plentiful and tasty and cocktails great quality.
Staff overall were great; friendly and helpful. Special thank you to Carlos, who was the most wonderful masseuse and offered tips on stretches to ease issues I was having - very impressed and the massage was heavenly. The bar staff overall were great and attention was paid to all the drinks made with the right garnishes etc even when they were rushed off their feet during busy periods.
The only niggle was the main buffet restaurant where it seemed hit and miss whether you got staff who were on it or not. Some days, we had zero complaints, they were efficient, friendly and helpful, other times, they were nowhere to be seen or slow even when the restaurant wasn't as busy.
The Italian and Steak restaurants though are a credit to the hotel and we had no issues getting booked in, though we are just a couple, so admittedly this would be easier. The staff, food and drinks were all top-notch!
The rooms were fab, the rainfall shower especially was heaven! We lucked out and got a great sunset view too so could sit and watch it go down with a cocktail on our balcony.

A great variety of food and places to eat. Staff could not be more helpful. Very safe for children and the swimming pools were always busy. I loved the transport into town every half an hour, very handy for the beach or the shops. I would definitely recommend!

Very very crowded, they don’t have enough facilities for the number of rooms, having breakfast was dreadful let alone relaxing like other all inclusive resorts I’ve been to, the restaurant food quality was very good but if you are stuck with the buffet then I rather just have a salad.

All 3 family pools are next to each other with music played loudly from 10-5 including pretty awful VERY loud house music played by the in-house DJ between 3-5pm every day. About 4 people vibing, and everyone else ignoring it - really bizarre. As a family there isn’t anyway to go to get away from it. In contrast the adults only pool was peaceful- but a no go with under 18s.

All 3 family pools are next to each other with music played loudly from 10-5 including pretty awful VERY loud house music played by the in-house DJ between 3-5pm every day. Nice hotel, pleasant stay, but it is definitely not a five star hotel. The food buffet is not great, every day the same food, even dinner buffet looks like breakfast buffet. The restaurants offer a La carte food thankfully, otherwise you get tired of buffet after a second day. Other than food hotel is ok.

Chose this hotel as it looked beautiful in photos and was dog friendly. Dog friendliness was a plus (understandably can’t have dogs in restaurants or at pools but there was a grassy area you could lounge with pets in). The rooms are also new and nicely appointed. But the positives end there. The hotel is 95% large families. Everything is geared for families and kids. Even the main bar is where all the children’s entertainment (loud shows and kids music) is until late at night. No option for dining for adults only. Restaurants can only be booked strictly on site 10a-5pm. If you check in after 5 pm good luck to you, you’re stuck with the buffet. Unfortunately, both buffet and restaurants are average at best. Cold, greasy, not enough choices, sad salad bar. You get the picture. Restaurants not really better. Pizza at the Italian place was edible. Swordfish came to the table raw and had to be sent back. Terribly slow service (yes even by local standards) and kitchen staff screaming and arguing through the whole service to the point servers were apologizing to guests. Quality of wine and drinks was awful. This hotel ticks all the boxes on paper and might work for you if you’re a family and not fussed about food. But not appropriate for couples or groups of adults and not a food destination.

The family and I had a great experience whilst staying here, staff were attentive, food was good (a bit more Portuguese authenticity would have been great) and our room ws comfortable.
Only one small lapse leads to a 4 star rating, where kids club one day switched to an alternate format requiring parents to stay on a day where the wife and I had booked massages at the spa - so only one of us ended up going. No communication went out regarding the change, but understand that sometimes things happen.

Very happy with our stay. We came with our baby boy and the hotel is extremely family friendly. Lots of good food and drinks (even cider) which was a pleasant surprise!

Very limited onsite activities. Limited food options. The property was about to close for the cold season and they limited dining options to only 2 restaurants, and closed other restaurants. Indoor activities specifically kid's activities were extremely limited. They had no onsite activities on last night of our stay, October 30th.

The staff were amazing, they're always ready to help. The location was walking distance to the beach. The rooms all have their own patio area. The area is safe and surrounded with tourist attractions. I had a great time here and if I'm visiting Portugal once again, I'll definitely want to stay there again.

Great option for kids holiday!
Just came back from a stay at Tivoli.
A few pros:
- Facilities are great for kids, with swimming pool, splash pad and kids club. Kids club also has day long snacks for pickier eaters so you don't worry if they skipped a meal at the main restaurants
- Little train takes you to beach in 5min, and you can easily get taxis to ones further away
- Entertainers at kids club are amazing and keep kids really engaged
- Food options as there are 4 different restaurants and snack bars with food all day long
Cons:
- Reception staff really lets down as they could be quite unreliable - in more than one occasion we asked them to pre book taxis only to show up and taxis had not been booked (including to airport!). We also had to lug our luggage and kids down the hill (our room was right at the top of the property) as we asked them for help and no one ever showed up.
- Our room phone didn't work during the whole stay despite them saying they'd get it fixed - it meant we had to walk to reception every time we needed something
- Room/cleaning staff could be more attentive too - often would not clean out rubbish/dirty glasses from room, and we kept having to ask to have water bottles replenished

The property was good but didn’t feel money’s worth as it was quite expensive compared to similar other properties. The staff were polite and pleasant but didn’t seem to make an effort to help proactively when raised issues with noise, broken air conditioning, light entering room in night even though these were easily resolved eventually, the reception staff were unable to offer any advice/solution.

After arriving and receiving the keys at 2.45 pm, they have allowed me and taken me to my room at 4.45 PM, saying that my room was not ready until then.

Beautiful property and wonderful staff. Hotel was clean. Adult pool was beautiful and clean. Drinks and towels readily available and staff always around to help. The food was very good and fresh. Essence restaurant had great options everyday for lunch and dinner. So many options to choose from. The spa was great! The messages were affordable and very relaxing. They had great options and lots of great fun things for the kids which i loved. I went here for my birthday vacation solo. I am definitely coming back and bringing my family to experience this wonderful experience.

The adult pool was great. Lovely pool and comfy sun loungers. The only down side was that there was no bar. There was 1 member of staff each day who would take orders but drinks were often forgotten and it took a long time to receive drinks. They had a few drinks on offer round the pool (wine and soft drinks) but if you wanted cocktails, the member of staff had to walk off (took around 15-20mins to get the drink). An actual bar by the pool would be better.
The food was average to good. Some lovely meals but the buffet was the same all week. The restaurants only had a few options. The service at restaurants wasn’t good. They seemed to have on one member of staff taking orders at a time whilst the other staff simply cleaned plates and bought food out. More people taking orders would improve the experience.

I was very disappointed as I had high hopes. Staff were nice people but very slow with customer service. My friends in separate rooms requested irons on separate days and both had same experiences of it taking over two hours to receive. They had an adults only pool which they did not enforce. Children were there splashing everywhere. That is fine but was expecting to have an adult holiday. This was more of a family resort. Food dinning hours were very limited and snack options were minimal. Just very disappointing so I decided to leave early. Transportation in the area was horrible. One night after party could not get a ride back to the hotel so had to walk back over an hour. Tried calling the hotel for assistance but no one would pick up. Day of departure we requested a taxi to take us to the airport. The taxi kept saying they would arrive soon. They did not arrive until 45min later. I do not plan to revisit this region. Everything was an inconvenience and I never felt as though I were on holiday.

An amazing experience
The stay at the resort was amazing. The resort is new and clean and the staffs are very friendly, specially Jose Pedro from Mercado. Me and my wife were completely satisfied with food, services and all the staffs at the resort. One simple suggestion: it is a good idea the hotel provides an schedule to all rooms. In this sense, we can enjoy the entertainment all day.
