It's a massive apartment block but very well-appointed, spacious, and quite conveniently located. Our apartment was huge for the money and very well-equipped. Walkable to the beach part of town but a bit of a stretch to the old town centre by the river. We drove and walked in from the sports stadium area for a meal. Lots of choice for eating.

This hotel/apartment comes with a kitchenette, however the room had no toaster or kettle. Had to ask for them, in addition the frying pan is non stick and even when you use a spray the eggs stick to the bottom and I need to buy a steel wool pad the clean the pan, took me at least 10 minutes to get it clean. Do yourself a favour, DONT USE THIS PAN! If you plan on making eggs over easy or sunny side up better bring your own flipper, won’t find one in the utensil drawer. The other bad experience was the 15 Euro buffet breakfast, the food that you normally eat at least somewhat warm including eggs and bacon, don’t look for it at this buffet, the scrabbled eggs were in an open platter with no warming element to keep them warm, If you are OK with fruit, bread, cereal and pastries your good to go there. Not worth 15 Euro for sure, go to McDonalds down the street much better bang for your buck!

Typical holiday let.

There was quite a bit of construction work going on which meant the restaurantand bar was closed. The beds were extremely poor we asked for a double and got two singles put together which were extremely uncomfortable. If you are using the indoor pool facilities make sure you bring a towel with you. I think a booklet introducing you to the area and hotel facilities would help as its a bit isolated if you haven't been to Portimão before.

Emergency family trip as my sister-in-law was in a near fatal car accident and was in Portimao hospital, so this property was ideal and close to the hospital for our stay.
Very clean helpful staff, will definitely book again, in not so unfortunate circumstances.

Hôtel situé à environ 1.5 km de la mer. L’appartement était parfait et équipé de lave vaisselle et de lave linge avec séchoir portatif. Par contre pas de balcon pour sécher le linge à l’extérieur. Nous avions une chambre au dessus du gym adjacent à l’hôtel. Très bruyant le soir, si vous êtes des couche tôt pensez-y ! Sinon cet hôtel est très bien. Le buffet déjeuner ouvre à 8h00.

We loved the layout of the rooms and it's fairly central location (about a 15 minute walk to the beach). We loved having a balcony to enjoy a morning coffee on.

The room lacked some essentials - it has a full kitchen but nothing to wash dishes with (no soap or wash cloths) so we did our best with what we had. We also had to ask for a coffee maker to be dropped off in the room.

Two major complaints: Wifi was so slow, it was virtually unusable. Location on Google Maps was incorrect, and after finally arriving, I informed the front desk, they basically said \"oh well, there's nothing we can do about it\". So, good luck finding this place if you're using Google Maps.
Otherwise, no major issues with this place.

The location here is excellent. You are about 3 or 4 blocks from the beach and close to other amenities such as supermarkets to stock your apartment. The service here is very good and you can leave your luggage for a bit if needed, which I did. The apartment I had was very comfortable but a couple of things were a bit outdated, such as the shower but all else was very nice. The cafe and restaurant, of which I only had breakfast, were also well staffed and very pleasing.

We have stayed in this hotel many times and we have never been disappointed. It’s handy to have a kitchen so you don’t have to eat out all the time. It’s self catering with hotel service. Best of both worlds. The rooms are always clean and the staff are very friendly.

Spacious 1-bed Apartment closer to the beach

The 1-bed unit is ideal for a family of 3, which has a kitchen with a WM, Dish washer, clothes drying rack, AC plus a large balcony. The sofa bed was ideal for either a child or an adult. In regards to food....you can have your meals in the hotel and the b'feast was good. There is also a bar too. Kitchen utensils are not the bast and therefore don't plan on doing any major cooking. Cleaning liquids, paper towels,garbage bags are not provided. The swimming pool looked good but we never used it. Safety deposit charge EUR 2.5/day.
Parking at the front of the hotel is challenging but at the rear there is enough space. The beach is about a 15-20 min walk from the hotel.

This self catering hotel was spotless, we had sea views a balcony with the pool below, amazing right. But next to the pool and was the main road to the town and beaches so hence at night, all night the road noise was not good , the rooms had electric shutters on the two patio doors which if were not down the road would keep you awake,this was the only down side , there are two cafes across the road which are cheap as chips and good food.
The indoor pool looked ok but swimming hats have to be worn,outside pool was fun but had some sharp stones around the pool as this is how it was made but ok,
Pool side bar with food ordering and beers cocktails etc, not a bad price and no life guard,bar and restaurant looked ok but we only used as a base , massive supermarket up the road and hundreds of food places by the beach, Welsh and Irish bars were the cheapest and good food and that’s from an English man lol .
Back to the rooms , air conditioning, sink ,pots pans microwave,cooking, washing machine,clothes airier,hairdryer, bathroom with 4 piece suit , tv with some English channels, comfy single beds and two massive sofa beds, so apart from the noise great location and hotel and staff.

We stayed in a 2 bed self catering apartment used the gum and both the out door & indoor pools.
About 10 - 15 minutes walk to the super markets and beach.
You need a swim cap to use the indoor pool so come prepared, also if you do not request for an electric kettle you may not have one.
It was an overall nice experience.

The hotel is not we expected at all. The interior in general is dated and depressing.The sofa beds they provided were very old and not clean. Every time someone had a shower the drainage on the floor overfilled and water covered the whole floor which smelled like sewage.
The pool is very small and the colour of the water is blurred.
Not impressed at all.

Hotel was in good location, stayed 10days. Not much in the way of nightly entertainment and no games room or activities for teenagers. It was the first time we have experienced security guard for pool loungers. I do feel their should have been more loungers and parasols...only 8 parasols. Even on very quite days he removed towels while people had gone to lunch including ours,,,,often 10 and 12 beds would be free . I do understand people can't place towels on beds for hours without using....we were there all days and left to eat in our room he removed towels because we were longer than 20mins despite us telling him first and other guests saying we would be back shortly. Also refused ice at pool bar because we had brought our own drinks......

Very noisy hotel. We heard all the outside noises and the neighbours. Don't expect to use two appliances at the same time or the electricity will go out. The rooms are clean but don't expect room service to pass early in the day. The hotel is on a main street that brings you directly to an excellent beach. It's an easy stroll of about 10 minutes walk.

A lovely holiday and good compromise.

The hotel itself has everything you need but doesn't go much above basic expectation. The rooms are clean and minimal, a lot more modern than similarly priced apartment hotels in the area. The foyer/restuarant/bar/reception area all look as if they have had a recent refurbishment, and are clean and stylish. The pool was nice but a little small for the size of the hotel, loungers with shade were limited, however there was member of staff preventing people from reserving loungers with towels which was a plus and very much appreciated. There wasn't a pool bar as advertised, it seemed as if they were in the process of rebuilding it. It is about a 10/15 minute walk to the beach and strip, we managed to do it multiple times a day without struggle. It also benefits from having 3 major supermarket close by, all about a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute drive away. The hotel is on a main road so you do get some traffic noise, but it is away from the main strip so you do avoid any major disturbance. Overall its a good compromise if you are looking for a reasonably priced and pleasant holiday. You have a good sized apartment, indoor and outdoor pool, use of the gym, restaurant/bar and parking all available on site. The Praia de Rocha Beach is out of this world and is definitely worth being the focal point of your holiday.

Good apartments

The location was great if you have a few days to explore all on foot. The beach, marine and town are all with in walking distance in opposite directions. The hotel itself was a nice place to stay with a spacious apartment and pleasant staff.

Don't forget your swimming cap if you want to use the pool as they charge €5 to buy one at the hotel which will add up you have a family.

It was a last minute booking and I am happy with it overall. Checking was at 4 pm rather than all day as advertised but Carlos was helpful got us checked in at 12 as we had 2 young children. Room was clean comfortable. Neared to beach and shops. Pool was a bit small and breakfast was average as there was not much choice. Not many cutlery. There was no exhaust in the bathroom but it didn't steam up so no problem. Staff were helpful and I would definitely stay again.

Great setup, roomy apartment with a large balcony, the problem is the traffic noise is unbearable. It is the local race track to the beach in the nights ! Constant traffic noise during the day made yet difficult to relax on the balcony without headphones in.

Nice hotel a bit far from beach

A lovely boutique feel to this hotel. We unfortunately got an apartment at the back which don't have a nice view. Rooms/apartments at front, higher the better have a great view. I guess everyone can't be lucky there. Pool is small for size of property and we couldn't get a sunbed the whole week as people reserved early and often weren't using them. It's a good 20 min walk to a nice beach so taxis are required. About five euro each way, so allow for up and down journeys day time and evening. We found car hire expensive in Algarve. Customer service was at times lacking. We had no water last 24 hrs of our stay. We overheard another guest query about it at reception otherwise we wouldn't have known. No explanation or apology from hotel. Also we had a fire alarm go off, down all the stairs all the guests, no guidance from staff. Everyone stood in lobby until we got two words, false alarm. Again no apology or explanation.

Everything we expected.

Rooms bigger than expected. Checkin/reception was open after midnight, which was a relief as our flight arrived late. Check in took 5 minutes. Check out took 1 minute and upon checkout, we could leave our suitcases at reception and use the hotel pool and loungers for rest of the day until we flew home. There is a paying underground car park, BUT, you can park for free outside the hotel front entrance for free, or, if no spaces there, park behind hospital beside the football stadium.

We had stayed at this hotel 6 years ago, at the time it was very modern, new and clean. 6 years later, you can tell there is some wear and tear in the rooms, a small refresh would be needed. Flat screens are too old and no satellite TV. But all very clean. An easy 10 minute walk from the boardwalk. But I prefer being directly on the boardwalk next time.

This is my 2nd year in a row at this hotel. The hotel is very clean and tidy, maids were in every day, moped floors, made bed's, and replaced towels. Service was very efficient, had a problem on arrival and was sorted. Hotel has good amenities including free wi/fi and air con, bar and restaurant. Pool could do with more sun beds as we were there in early June not that busy and people had to sun on the grass. Location is about 5 to10min walk to praia da rocha or 15 to 20 min to portimao. Large supermarket 5 min walk away. All in all very good hotel.

Worth the Money

Check-In went smooth and no issues. However did not like having my passport photo copied, not sure I believe their reason for doing so. The reception person stated; they have to send copy of everyone who stayed at their hotel a copy of their passport to the local.

For individuals who have complained not having a kettle for heating water use the microwave, it works just fine. The staff was friendly; the room was cleaned daily and with clean towels each day. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world are within a 5-10 minute walk. There is a great shopping area where you can buy everything you need within 10 minute walk.

The hotel needs to replace missing items. Very few cooking utensils such as spatula would have been nice. There were only three small glasses to use; would have been nice to have some wine glasses to have used.

The hotel was kept clean and the prices in the restaurant and bar were not overly priced.

Very nice Hotel however, staff weren't helpful.

We stayed in a T3 apartment which was very nice. The view on the 9th floor was exceptional and the balcony that wrapped around the apartment was incredible. On the downside when we checked in the staff just handed us the key and pointed us to the elevator. No one came with us to show us the apartment and the facilities. Disappointing to say the least. There were only 2 chairs and a small table on the patio for 6 people to share and when taking showers the water for the six of us was barely warm at times. Unfortunately, the staff were very unknowledgeable when you asked a question which made it difficult if you asked any questions off the beaten path. If you don't mind the big hotel experience then you'll like this hotel but if you want a hotel that makes you feel welcome and goes out of their way to make you stay enjoyable then you will be disappointed.

Great Hotel, excellent location

We stayed on the 9th floor in a 4 Bedroom suite with a full kitchen and dining area and we slept 4 adults and 9 children comfortably with lots of room to spare. The room was great, plenty of space, rap-a-round deck with great views of the city/ ocean, the hotel service (Restaurant, pool, staff) excellent and the location was ideal. The beach (Rock Beach, Praia da Rocha) was only a 10 minute walk and all the shopping you need was 10 minutes in the other direction. Highly recommend!!!

Very modern decor and apartment was modern with the decor and fittings and kitchen was fitted well with fridge/freezer/full cooker/washing machine and microwave.The only thing lacking was a mirror in the bedroom which would have been useful for doing your hair/makeup but otherwise could not fault the hotel.

Modern Clean Hotel

We stayed in Oceano Atlantico for 6 nights. Overall it was very good but with a few negatives. Pros: Very modern stylish apartment with a decent balcony. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. It seemed to be one of the newer hotels in Portimao/Praia Da Rocha. Not that far from the beach - about a 15 min walk and Continente shopping centre about the same distance. Cons: We booked a non-smoking room but arrived to find that people had been smoking in the room, we requested to be moved but receptionist wasn't very helpful and said that no other rooms were available as the hotel was fully booked, this definitely wasn't the case as the hotel was nowhere near full from what we could tell. Hotel staff in general seemed a bit disinterested in customer service. Also, the bed was probably the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in, i could literally feel the springs digging into me. Luckily there were some matresses under the sofas which we put on the beds and this made them quite comfortable. The maid did come into the room every day to change the towels but didn't perform and substantial cleaning. Overall i would recommend the hotel and would stay again

Lovely apartment, washer/dryer fab. 10-15 min walk to Praia de Rocha so ideally like to be closer. Taxis only cost approximately 4€ and reception call and easily to get one coming home. All Beef restaurant gorgeous which is approx 5-7 minute walk from apartment.
Rooms quite modernised with flat screen tv. View over swimming pool great. Absoutely loved Portimao and will be going back next year.
PS the Taj Palace restaurant was recommend but seriously don't go there. Not good for those with delicate tummies.

This is a great apartment block, plenty of roomand wellaye out , the staff are very freindly and helpful, very close to all ameanities just a 5 minutes walk tothe resturants,bars and shops. A taxi is less than 5 euros. The beach is fantastic, I would definately come back and stay at this resort and apartment. Very good for families,couples and small groups.

Great location is inbetween hypermarket and the coast, could walk to both. Apartment sits on a slight hill so going is fine but harder on the way back. Easy to get Taxi's again very helpfull. Staff very pleasant could not fault our stay at all

Oceano Atlantico Apartamentos

Visited hotel in October 2010. We enjoyed probably one of the biggest apartments (8th floor) the hotel has to offer, with 4 large bedrooms, large living room and good sized kitchen. The roof terrace/veranda spanned the entire perimiter of the apartment, providing excellend views of the sea and surrounding area. Rooms were clean and tidy with maid service every day. It is a good 15 minute walk (with kids longer) to the beach one way, and a good 10 minute walk the other way to the local shops (Lidl is excellent for basics and tasty rolls) with the continental supermarket providing the usual shopping you would expect to see in Morrisons/Sainsburys.

The only negative with the hotel were the lifts which were frequently out of order and one day we (2 adults 4 children) were unfortunately trapped in the lift for 15 minutes which given one side of the lift is a full length window proved to be very hot and sticky. Once rescued there was no apology from the management nor even the offer of a soft drink for the children who by now were somewhat hot and bothered. Even when pressed the hotel manager could only say 'these things happen - it is not our fault it is the maintenance companies responsibility. I think there is a customer relationship opportunity here!

Overall a good hotel providing a sound base from which to explore the resort.

We spent 10 days here, mainly using it as a touring centre. We were pleasantly surprised that the apartments lived up to their 4 star rating considering the very reasonable price charged. Reccomended!

This is a lovely apartment modern clean and the air con is a godsend

This was a last minute holiday and having stayed in the nearby area on a few occasions decided this would be an ideal base for Ten days in the sun The description was spot on even down to the distance from beach which seemed a lot longer on the way back The entertainment at the hotel was not my cup of tea though may be enjoyed by others The prices at the bar were a little on the high side Ten euros for a beer and G and T though most of the area has higher prices for most things than you would expect to pay in the UK.Overall a most enjoyable break in the sun in a very modern well presented hotel

Lejligheden var generelt fin. Vi savnede dog vandkoger, brødrister og kaffemaskine. Der var desuden noget der lignede skimmelsvamp ved brusekabinen.
Den ene af to elevatorer var ude af drift, så der var kø.

Apartamento com áreas agradáveis.
Quarto com bastante espaço e camas duplas confortáveis.
Arrumação e limpeza diária, embora muito parca, wc com cheiro á chegada a resolução foi comprar desinfetante e limpar.

Camas dos sofás com colchão de espuma, desconfortável para adultos com mais de 170cm.
Televisão demasiado pequena e com muitas interferência.
Um dos elevadores esteve em manutenção uma semana.
Zona da piscina exterior limpa mas com poucas sombras e faltam espreguiçadeiras para a lotação dos apartamentos.

Sejour parfait rien à redire. De la reception au service de chambre en passant par la piscine interieure chauffée à tres bonne temperature tout fut agreable et tout en calme et sobriété. Le parking gratuit juste devant la residence dispose en tout cas en mai de suffisamment de place et il y a un parking sous la residence également ( non utilisé).

Tres chouette location

Superbe endroit. Seul bemol : personne ne nous prévient qu il faut un bonnet pour acceder a la piscine intérieure. Nous avons du en acheter sur place au prix de 5 euros le bonnet. Et il n y a aucune surveillance dans les piscines donc des jeunes sautent dans l eau sans faire attention aux jeunes enfants. Pas assez de parasols aussi. Une dizaine pour tout le complexe hôtelier et le reste des transats est en plein soleil. Sinon propreté super et personnel tres sympathique. Un bon hôtel.
