Friendly staff, quick check in. Had a balcony room , simply furnished but very clean and comfortable bed.
Bar, breakfast room which was excellent fresh fruit, small jot plate, continental choices, cales pastries. Rice, soya, almond , no lactose milk available and gluten free bread rolls
Clean inside swimming pool in -level 2 quiet and relaxing
Hotel should be 3* central location in quiet residential atea with nice local reaturant Quinteira 3 mins walk and Pomba cafe

Great hotel in a quiet location

The staff at this hotel were fantastic. They were all very friendlt and helpful.
The fruit at breakfast time looked like it had seen fresher days, but there was a good selection of other breakfast items for those who eat meat and dairy. The room was a great size, cleaned daily and the balcony was great. The location has a residential and local feel and is about 10 minutes drive to Praia Da Rocha.

The room was cleaned, the front desk people lovely. However everything besides were difficult. Limited parking lot , the coffee machine baby cups with high price. I didn’t find a decent place to have breakfast or dinner near by. I suggest that this hotel should offer breakfast to the guests as it would get a better reviews.

Just what we needed

Stayed here for a festival so it was close by and we would get an Uber for 4 euros to the main bit. Everything was fine, only down side was a few staff members were very very unnecessarily rude (2 men in particular- ladies were all nice). Like I would ask a simple question and get so much attitude back and loud sighing like I am a massive burden. But apart from that it did the job! Rooms actually bigger than the pics and we got a big balcony which I wasn’t expecting

Lovely hotel, in the quieter part of Portimao but still very close to the old town and 30 min walk to Praia da Rocha.

Room was clean and spacious, only thing missing was a fridge.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Check-in and out was a breeze.

Nice for a night

Nice and simple hotel, has the basics needed for a stay. We only stayed one night. Has parking outside and a pool, but we didn't use the pool as only stayed briefly. No kettle in the room and A/C switches off if you open the room or balcony door. Need the A/C on to keep mosquitoes at bay! Hotel staff very friendly. Only a few irons in the hotel. Breakfast was ok, good choice of fruit and cakes.

The people who clean the rooms didn’t clean properly in some days, didn’t have a mini bar to store cold food, one of the days inside of our room we found a cockroach ( the windows was closed). One of the staff who works at the reception was not polite. The signal of the internet was horrible. We can hear the people talking from the other room.

I like the breakfast and the staff except one guy because he was not polite, the pool was nice.

At the price an excellent basic hotel, spotlessly clean, good bathroom, well maintained by the maid, all staff helpful and efficient. Excellent breakfast, good choice of everything you could want, no 'full english' but breads, cheese, ham, yogurts, fruit very good coffee.
Proper air conditioning that works. A complimentary bus to either the beach or marina. The outdoor pool is a short walk from the hotel, fully enclosed and residents only, plenty of sunbeds available.

This hotel is excellent,,this is the third time l have been here and l will be back again ,Alex on reception is very good and sorts out all your problems quickly ,He is friendly and approachable ,the rooms are kept spotless clean with daily cleans by friendly maids ,The breakfast has a wide choice of food on offer ,The area near the hotel has everything you might need ,having restaurants, snack bars and two large supermarket within 10 mins walk ,The pool is private and well maintained ,l found the wi fi excellent, also the hotel has a shuttle bus down to the beach which is lovely

Just stayed one night. Location okay and staff quite good...but...room very small and if you weigh over 9 stone forget trying to fit into the shower. Walls paper thin, heard everything from next door. Parking 18 euro (maybe better spent on accommodation). Basically you get what you pay for

Hotel good ,staff nice and friendly maids nice and clean daily ,shopping centre about twenty mins walk away ,if you pick up the gravel path to the right of bridge and then turn right at the end you will see the shopping centre ,there is a bank in there as well as other shops ,but if you have mobility problems you have to climb up steps and down the other side when crossing the pink bridge over the main road ,There are restaurants and a take away just down the small hill ,also a small supermarket by the chemist ,The hotel is very clean and the breakfast has a good choice of food and drinks ,The hotel swimming pool is in its own grounds and you are given a key to get into it ,it's kept nice and has toilets in the grounds ,it also has a small sandwich bar at the side of the pool on the outside where you can get toasted sandwiches,drinks etc

Decent hotel for the price, but far from the beach

Really nice and helpful staff here but beware, the outdoor pool is like a block away. It is not on the hotel property. Rooms are pretty basic, not great or modern, but at least with a small TV and balcony.

Mirachoro Sol Portimao

Excellent hotel even if rated a two star. Courtesy bus helps with the issue of access to Portimao and Praia de Rocha. Alexander could not do enough for us during our visit. Breakfast was great and room spotlessly clean. Pool area good with lots of sun beds and a pool that was very clean. Can recommend this hotel.

Staff were amazing, hotel needs more

The staff were really helpful and kind and were just great, the hotel room could do with some more amenities like a kettle and a mini fridge to keep your water cool. Sheets were also sometimes a little dirty, apart from that it was really nice though !

Hotel Mirachoro Sol

Refused to provide soya milk and yoghurt for daughter allergic to dairy products and did not reply to my request to say that they couldn't provide these items. In addition to this there was one very rude man on reception desk and his manager was even ruder. All other staff were really nice and friendly. Did not appreciate someone else's balcony being directly below our bathroom window. Made it a bit awkward for showering and we couldn't have the bathroom window open. Otherwise the room was very nice. Had every amenity except for a fridge. Good location.

A pleasant stay in October 2017. My 3rd floor room was clean and had a balcony with a pleasant view of the town (but not the sea). The rising October sun shone directly into my room at the front of the hotel. The outdoor pool was pleasant with a shower and changing rooms (the water was cold on entering the pool but nice once I got used to it. (Apparently pool is heated from Oct to April but not sure if it was during my stay). Indoor pool is very small (shallow water at one end but soon gets deep). A few cardiovascular gym machines next to indoor pool.

The buffet breakfast offered is very good with a big variety of items available including scrambled eggs, small sausages, bread (which can be toasted using the toaster), butter, marmalade, jam, fruit in juice (incl sliced peaches), sliced melon, sliced tomatoes, breakfast cereals and milk, ham, cheese, various cakes, yoghurt, a machine for various coffees or hot water (tea bags/milk supplied) and various fruit juices.

Reception staff were pleasant, one guy was very friendly with perfect english.

Lovely clean quiet hotel

Hotel suited us, if you don't like walking you'd need a car. 15 mins walk to Continente shopping centre, 25 min walk to Aqua Portimao, 20 min walk to Portimao harbour. 45 min walk to Praia da Rocha beach. Hotel provides a minibus 3 times a day, would be useful if this ran in the evening too.

Great continental breakfast, good choice of fruit, bread, pastries etc.

Outdoor pool usually quiet, a real sun trap. No pool bar but a local cafe round the corner is handy.

Rooms spotless and cleaned daily; air con very welcome, Wi-Fi spasmodic.

Would I stay again - if you could pick this hotel up and move it, yes, but we didn't like Praia da Rocha so probably not. Parts of Portimao were beautiful, but it was mostly dirty, scruffy and rundown with loads of graffiti and lots of derelict buildings. Needs a clean up and lots of Euro investment.

Quiet Area

The hotel is situated in a residential area which is very quiet.The rooms are clean and tidy. Breakfast (continental style) is adequate with a lovely range of breads,cakes,hot drinks and fresh fruit.Swimming pool with bar and soft drinks available . Handy for town and not far from beach.

Great breakfast included, friendly staff, big , clean rooms, nice smell in the room, nice pool 100 m away from the hotel, indoor pool and a mini gym, not noisy. Recommended!

The towels could be changed more often, same the bedding!

Not so good!

hotel in middle of nowhere!! we had a car so not a problem! room ok nice balcony, second night had overflow problem!! the smell was awful! went to complain!!! changed room fine!! NO not fine! it was like a dungeon!! no balcony and couldn't open window! asked to change again Was told hotel full! Asked if we checked out early could we have refund! NO!!! Not happy I rang hotels.com they were very helpful and rang hotel for me to see if they could get refund for me! NO! They were told we had broken the toilet!! which we hadn't ! one member of staff was nice the other were on mobile phones most of time!!

Basic hotel bus ride away from beach and amenities

Air con wasn't very good. Very basic hotel. No fridge in room which was annoying. Buffet breakfast was nice. Pool is a lot smaller than it seems in the photos and it's a 3 minute walk away from hotel down the road a little way in seperate out house. Free shuttle bus into beach and shopping area, although only goes three times a day. Not much to do nearby unless you get a taxi at €6 into Praia da rocha.

They have a shuttle to the beach which is only about 9 minutes drive. Everything is local if your driving the jumbo supermarket and shopping centre is about 7 minutes drive if u want some home luxuries there is even a Primark at the shipping centre... the hotel room was clean the bar was decent the indoor pool was cold bŕrrr. There is no evening meal options at the hotel but thete are placed to about a minute walk away. Overall it was a good stay. Only bad thing I can say about the room was the bathroom the the hand basin was right in front of the toilet so it felt very cramped.

Hidden gem.

Hotel was in quite a remote spot but there was a lovely restaurant very close by and a few shops and takeaways. A free shuttle bus transported guests to the beach and town at various times of the day. However, the town itself was only a 15 minute walk and had many places to eat and a lovely harbour front.
The hotel had indoor and outdoor pools, free air con and beautiful lounge area in the foyer.

This hotel is clean with large well equipped rooms with air con, wi fi, hairdyer and tv. The staff are friendly. The only negative is location but this was no issue for us having a hire car. There is a lovely restaurant Quintinha just a few mins walk.

Good value for money. Much more than a 2 star.

We were warmly welcomed at the check in stage by the friendly staff and were always available for any help or advice such as sightseeing. We reached in much earlier but were given a space to keep our luggage. Restaurant with authentic Portuguese food nearly by. Other supermarkets at a walking distance. Hotel bus service provided to the nearest beach Praia da Rocha - one of the topmost beaches in Algarve with plenty of restaurants and shops. Otherwise a taxi to the beach would cost just about 5-6 Euro. Various other trips and sightseeing trips can be booked at the Hotel. I would recommend it.

The worst hotel I ever stayed in

When first we approached the hotel I thought oh my god what have we done it was very rough looking area from what we are usually used to staying in then I walked in the reception area looked clean so I thought ok give it a chance we had booked 2double rooms one with a child's bed also, when I opened the room door I was shocked looked into the bathroom and said this is a dive of a place it made me so angry to think what we paid for this place
We had a problem with the air conditioning first night when I went to reception all I could say about well I wouldn't call her a lady she was very abrupt and made you feel you were well say some what stupid she was no way helpful.
I could go on and on but to be honest I would not recommend this hotel to anyone another couple with there child described it to me as we were chatting a s***hole
And I had to agree !!!!

Very disapointed with a member of staff at the hotel and the way she treated us yesterday morning 11/8/16. She refused to help me to print off our boarding passes for our journey home to Ireland and totally ignored us at reception. left us waiting for over half an hour on two occaisions .
She was very rude and very unhelpful.
She seems very unhappy in her job. Needs training in custumer service as her communacation skills are very very poor. she spoiled our stay at the hotel.

Mattresses of Stone! Keep looking.

The mattress' in a prison would've been more comfortable than theirs! Unless you like no support, extra hard bed and mattress - pay the extra and go to another hotel.
The bed gave us severe back pain the next day.. Navy Seals would DOR after one night here!
The shower head was broken - you had to hold up the shower head.
I ask for ice for two glasses we already had and the evening desk clerk suggested I go to the market and buy a 1 pound bag!
They have a bar but she would not give or sell two cups of ice...?
The morning staff is very pleasant but the 25 year old woman was a total tird.
The ownership is too cheap to keep value in this place - adios, we'll find better.

The only downside to the hotel is the location. The only reason it's a downside is because the beach is so beautiful that it's a shame not to be beside it. However, the hotel provides a free shuttle bus to and from the beach and if that doesn't suit, taxis to the beach only cost €5 anyway so it's very cheap.
The hotel staff were extremely nice, friendly and helpful and the hotel rooms were spotless and cleaned thoroughly every day. I would recommend this hotel.

Basic hotel too for from the beach/shops and bubs.

The resort was small and there was very long stairs down to the beach. Once you arrive on the beach it is extremely
beautiful. The people were nice and friendly and was not to expensive to buy things. Food was basic wherever we went
But the most disappointing thing was people selling glasses and these also were trying to sell you drugs witch I reported
to the police and they seamed not to be bothered about it. This happened every time you went up and down the main street at night.

Friendly hotel.

Staff very warm and friendly. Hotel needs bit updating as it is little tired. Cleaning staff work very hard and keep the place spotless. TV in the room has english stations. Breakfast was fine cereals, yogurts, fruits, coffee, juices, sausage, eggs, cakes, ham and cheese toasties. Staff here again work extremely hard and keep the breakfast replenished so theres no shortage. Again its very clean and the staff are friendly and greet guests every morning with a warm good morning. Room itself is basic enough bed mattress is very hard. Shower and toilet facilities good. Location ten or 15 minutes walk to town but courtsey bus has regular pick ups and drops to town and the local beach free of charge. Driver punctual and friendly. For us it was the excellent staff they have here that keeps the place still in business!! Local family restaurant 2mins away highly recommended fresh produce and nice fish. Mirachoro Sol if you are reading this you need to get the letters on your roof fixed it reads OTII not good advertising. Your swimming pool needs a sign so guests can find it.

Hotel was clean, beds were comfortable but there is zero sound insulation. The doors must be made out of paper and have a gaping hole at the bottom. The windows the same and you will hear everyone's else air conditioning running through the night in what would be an otherwise quiet neighbourhood.... Nice clean hotel, friendly staff. Beds and pillows are like bricks, and we spent a fortune on taxis in and out from praya de rocha. The breakfast was ok... If you like ham cheese and cakes for it... Indoor swimming pool was a bit cold, but the outdoor pool was lovely. Would I stay at the hotel again? Absolutely, it's just a pity it's so far out from the centre of things.

This hotel is a dump. The web states Air Conditioning in public areas....forget it. When asked to switch on the a/c I was told \"we cannot find the remote control\". They could be more inventive. The web states free-wifi in rooms....forget it. You can only connect in reception, so without a/c, the reception area was like the proverbial hole of Calcutta. The food was lousy and the general look and feel made it depressing. You have been warned.

Nice hotel , just a little out of atracctions

Was surprised of the cleanest and pleasant place. As a 2* hotel its really great , clean , some areas freshly painted so doesn't look old , staff friendly and helpful . Rooms are not big , but with the A/C and balconies . Bed was a little hard , but its good for rest after long travel . Breakfast simple but really fine , pool inside small and pool outside is a little out of the compound (you have key from it ) Nothing really to do around , so better have a car .

Overall good hotel...

Good value for money hotel. Friendly staff, great breakfast, aircon, clean rooms & a swimming pool make it a good place to stay for the price. Distance from the port and rock hard matresses would be the only cons to the hotel.
