The room was lovely, with a little sitting area and the hosts were incredibly kind. It’s a family owned and run place and they are delightful. One of us was sick during the stay, which is never fun, and the hosts were willing to go out of their way to help. If you are coming by car pay close attention to the arrival directions. Driving a car in the Albaicín is no joke!

It was a great and unforgettable experience. All the staff members were so nice, helpful and friendly. I really felt as in a family house. Everything was clean and breakfast was always delicious. Location is excellent, safe, near transportation, minimarkets and restaurants. Just a few blocks from Mirador de San Nicolas, with amazing views to Alhambra.

So nice to stay in a family run boutique hotel where they really care about their guests. Very warm and welcoming and ready to meet all your needs. Comfy beds, great shower, good breakfast variety. Having the inexpensive busses run throughout the day makes the location very feasible for those without a car. Highly recommend.

This is a charming, beautifully appointed hotel. I would strongly recommend it if you’re interested in staying in the Albaicín district. Many tapas bars, quiet plazas, wonderful churches. Where we stayed was next to a convent. Our room 11 had views of the Alhambra ( though a few trees) were part of this exquisite view. The staff were exceptional. Would put it at the top of your list of places to stay in this wonderful city.

Had very charming (and roomy) room with view of Alhambra which is partially blocked by trees but mostly visible. A/c good. Breakfast not fancy but is good. Hosts are caring and charming but try to learn some tourist Spanish (generally a good idea) Location is terrific. The C2 bus that takes you to Alhambra is right outside front door. Which is literal - the door opens directly into the street so take care. Worthy recommendations for eating places. Very much enjoyed my stay.

Charming historic property in a quiet location in the Albaicin, just a short walk from the mirador overlooking the Alhambra. A very warm welcome from Ingo who spent time explaining the area and best spots to visit. Lovely breakfast included, with eggs made to order. One thing to note, some rooms, including ours, overlook the courtyard so get limited natural light out of season when the courtyard is covered.

The hotel staff were wonderfully welcoming and helpful and the building and rooms are beautiful and charming. It's location in the Albaicin makes views of the Alhambra as well as tons of great restaurants just a short walk away. Be sure to buy some sweets from the convent right next store! We loved our time here and would definitely come back!

Lovely old hotel with lots of charm in both the building and decor. Convenient parking provided by the hotel, and a good location to see the city. Our room was quite spacious and comfy, overlooking an adjacent park. Excellent breakfast. Not the most modern place, but well maintained and good.

Extremely charming and beautiful hotel of only 11 rooms. The hospitality of the staff is amazing. At check in they sit down with you and go over a map of the area, explain how to get around and provide recommendations for sights, restaurants, etc. A very nice touch. We were lucky to have stayed in the Alhambra room with amazing views of the fortress. Breakfast is wonderful. Would definitely stay here again!

A very charming boutique hotel lovingly managed. The owner will go out of his way to explain every visit option in multiple languages. The only thing I didn’t really like were the enormous economy-sized toiletries in the bathroom. Probably a sustainable choice - but frankly very ugly!

The hotel built in 16th century so its historic. I believe it is family run and more like staying in a home rather than a hotel. You are given a key to the front door, your room & a small safe. The room and bathroom are comfortable and clean.
The staff are friendly, but I would suggest booking trains, buses and taxis earlier than suggested.

Hotel decor is amazing, gives the local vibes and is located in Albaicin, within walking distance to san nicolas lookout. There is also a bus right in front of it can take you to Alhambra directly.
Detailed touring recommendations are provided for everyone which is very helpful!
Breakfast is also great with yummy sweet melon :)

Wonderful hotel and awesome staff

This hotel is wonderfully located in Granada's Albacin area, easy to walk to all the sights. I can't say enough about how Ingo made our stay in Granada complete by sitting down with us upon arrival and reviewing all of the not to be missed sights, suggestions for places to eat and everything we needed to know about the hotel. It's cozy with lots of character including an indoor open courtyard that all of the rooms open on to. The breakfast area is facilitated by two lovely ladies who served up a delicious fare to start our day. On the morning of our Alhambra tour we left before breakfast so Ingo hung a bag on our door with a lunch to take with us. Parking is next door and easy to access. Ingo communicated with us extensively before our stay so that we knew exactly how to get to the parking garage and also the different tours that were available. Driving in the old town section is an adventure so it was nice to be prepared ahead of time. Our room was very spacious with a sitting area, large double bed and a nice sized bathroom with tub /shower. Instead of throw away toiletry bottles, there were large bottles of soap, shampoo and shower gel which is much more environmentally friendly. Overall, an incredibly well run hotel.

Location presents some challenges but real Granada

We could not find the hotel using the gps in our rental car and got into some near impossible situations in the very narrow twisting “streets,” but one of the staff sent someone to find us and lead us to the hotel, which is located on a narrow 1-way cobblestone street in the oldest part of the city. We greatly appreciated that but the situation was nevertheless stressful. The hotel door opens directly onto that narrow street which is used by cars, taxis, trucks, and minibuses, making it important to listen and peek out carefully before exiting; there’s a warning sign on the inside of the door to this effect. There is no sidewalk. The hotel was otherwise nice, and the breakfast good. There are some restaurants and bars in the neighborhood but it is much better to take one of the small buses that pass frequently down the hill to the main city for restaurants and the famous tapas bars.

Simply amazing. Free bottle of welcome wine. You can take a glass and walk two blocks to plaza Nicolas to watch the sunset of Alhambra. What more can you ask for. Perfect location and the friendliest staff. The chef ran out to give me some apple and short cake to go as I was waiting for Uber to the airport and didn’t have breakfast.

We loved staying in this beautiful hotel. The area and the whole city is steeped in history and very traditional. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and comfortable and had a huge comfy bed. There were complimentary drinks - water, coke and beer that were replenished during our stay, which was a nice touch. The area is very hilly with narrow roads and lanes (you can see it from the Alhambra when you go there) but there is a little red minibus that goes to and from the city every 10 minutes and another that takes you to the Alhambra. We loved Granada and we are so glad we chose to stay in this quaint hotel.

This is a truly wonderful hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the building itself is a delight, with the rooms set around an open courtyard on two floors. All the rooms are uniquely furnished with antiques collected by the owner. There is a wonderful lounge area to relax in in the front of the hotel, where you can make yourself a cup of coffee or tea. They also offer Sherry and candies. You can see the Alhambra from some of the rooms and from the upstairs balcony. St Nicholas view point is just 5 mins walk away and, if you like to walk, it is an easy walk into central Granada and back. if you prefer, you can get to the hotel on the C31 or 32 minibuses, which stop right next to the hotel

In the middle of the old part of Granada

We stayed in the little casa close to the hotel. Nicely located in the old part of Granada. Perfect to walk around. The house has everything needed and makes you feel the experience of a local. The service from the staff is amazing and the breakfast is filling (offered at the hotel). We had problem with the WiFi but that didn't made our stay bad, we were able to walk to the hotel if needed.

Granada....tierra soñada por mi

Fantastic location, maybe a bit hard to get to but worth it.
From our room the view of the Alhambra were great and only a few metres from restaurants, there was also a bus to the Alhambra that stopped right at the door of the hotel... and it parking was included.

I appreciate the history and the staff of this place. However, the cleanliness was not up to par, the spring bed was uncomfortable, the AC unit was weak and the location is quite hazardous (the main door is right on a busy street and each time we stepped out we almost got hit by a speeding bus or taxi). This hotel is over rated on the Lonely Planet and by other guests. To me, it felt like we were staying in a cheap motel and payed for a luxury boutique hotel (as what was described in the travel book)

Fabulous location and nice touches like home made jam and fruit “schnapps”. Obliging staff. Comfortable room although the aircon was not 100% effective. Beds too firm for me. Great for exploring the Albayzin and amazing views of Alhambra.

This was located in the Albayzin area right next to Santa Isabel la Real, right by the 31/32 bus stop. The hotel is on the hillside, which meant a lot of walking up and down(still only 15-18min walk to major interest) - I wasn’t aware of this, but the bus makes it easier and still, the area was very beautiful especially at night, near a view of the entire city of Granada/the Alhambra. Staff was kind enough . It was a nice cozy stay

Lovely quite recluse up in old town

We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Santa Isabel in the little 2 bed house away from the main hotel - near the St Miguel square. It was a lovely little place with a courtyard which was great - to sit out and have a nice G&T. The equipment etc was basic but it all worked really well. Fridge got cold really quickly, the air con worked well to help us sleep - it was very hot in Granada in July.

We hadn't expected the room to be cleaned on a Sunday but when we came back from a lovely day at Alhambra it had been cleaned, beds made etc.

We stayed at Hotel Santa Isabel La Real for two nights and it was a terrific decision. The hotel is conveniently located on two of the bus routes that take you from the Albayzin neighborhood over to the Alhambra and city central. But you are also staying right in the middle of a fascinating neighborhood in its own right. You are 3-4 \"blocks\" from the overlook at San Nicholas plaza, from a number of other viewpoints for the Alhambra, and the large mosque in Granada. Great location that affords the opportunity to really walk around and soak in the mix of history from this city.

We will echo many of the comments of other reviewers. The hotel's service and accommodations are terrific. We opted for a large room on the front of the hotel that had a view of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada mountains. Beautiful -- and quiet despite being on a relatively busy street. Super comfortable beds, well appointed rooms with a vaulted ceiling. Bathroom had everything you wanted, albeit a little narrow. Breakfast buffet had lots of choices and was a good deal since there were few places out in the streets for more than a coffee and pastry. Reception, front desk and check out service were super helpful -- particularly since we needed to navigate some changes to our transport options and they were great in making sure that we had updated tickets properly. Definitely a great place to stay.

The check-in moved seamlessly, and the receptionist provided invaluable information to start our trip around the beautiful city of Granada. The breakfast is exceptional: a selection of meats, cheeses, breads, jams, and fruits; excellent coffee and choices of tea; an option for cooked eggs; hard-boiled eggs , tomatoes, and fresh fruit salads (nothing canned). Most important, the location is perfect, situated on a hilltop overlooking Alhambra, along a narrow cobbled street, next to a beautiful monastery, and a minute walk from the charming San Miguel Bajo Plaza, which has a great selection of restaurants. The bus stop to the key points in Granada is literally outside the front door. I would return here in a heartbeat.

Beautiful historical and authentic period feel. Very comfy bed and spacious room. Beautiful art. The breakfast and the service at breakfast in the intimate eating area was another form of art itself. It was a ten minute wlk to the shopping area down the mountain. Nicolas's mini convenience store surprisingly had a lot of variety from produce, to wine, to your basic snacks. We were five minutrs away from a popular spot to watch the sunset on the Alhambra. Our bathroom even had a tub to soak in and windows with shutters that faced the courtyard. Just gorgeous details in the metal and wood work.

Great Historic Property

Wonderful location in the old quarter of Granada. Convenient to the bus to Alhambra and to numerous good restaurants, some with outstanding views of the Alhambra. Friendly staff in a historic, but comfortable restored villa.only recommendation...if you are arriving at the Renee station, take a bus or cab. It is less than a mile walk, but much of it is uphill on very steep streets or stairs. We accomplished it, but it is a workout.
