Breakfast was outstanding, ample variety carefully prepared. Room was very appointed with balcony to rest. Staff went beyond expectation to make certain that we are in comfort. Although the ocean is a little walk away, the pool is always available, meticulously clean. Thank you for a great stay! Fully recommended,,,

Good value for money and good breakfast

Really comfortable and clean room with lots of options for breakfast and water fountain available all the time. The pool was nice and it was close to the beach. The parking outside the hotel was often full however there was free on street parking although this can get busy during the day with people going to the beach. There were lots of food options around and we enjoyed the breakfast there were lots of options!

Cold water machine often didn’t work. Too many steps with luggage. AC in room was often switched off by staff. Even at lowest temperature, room was too hot. No AC in rest of hotel. Did not remove dirty dishes from room nor give shampoo , soap etc regularly. Just seemed to leave a number of random bottles sometimes. Staff not particularly friendly nor helpful . Breakfast was good and pool was nice

Excellent and friendly staff that were very helpful. Beds are firm but all of Europe seems this way. Very convenient walk to the beach and access to a store for drinks and snacks and an ATM. Restaurants walkable as well. Best part was the staff!

Absolutely love our 10 day stay at hotel alcaide. Staff where so friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was amazing and cleanliness was very good. The only downside was the lack of a fridge in the room but given the opportunity to keep a bottle of wine in the bar cooler and ice was readily available when we needed it.

The grounds and pool were lovely. However, the rooms were incredibly basic - no hairdryer, fridge, kettle etc. Also, they only appeared to make up the bed and replace towels when they cleaned the room as the bathroom was still quite dirty.

We have stayed in few hotels in Algarve including five stars establishments and on comparison Alcaide rates really well!

It's biggest attribute is the staff. Very accommodating and showing very high standard of customer service, always smile on their faces.

Location: Praia de Vau is only few minutes walk away and Praia da Rocha with the main strip of restaurants about 20 minutes. The neighbourhood is Portuguese with little tourists and the snack bar nearby Costa serves amazing cocktails with plenty of locals that go there. The area is very quiet and safe.

Facilities: the main plus is the pool if you don't fancy going to the beach. Our main complaint would be additional charges for the fridge and the safe. That should be included in the room rate.

Overall we had a very enjoyable stay!

Dated property, buy very comfortable. Great swimming pool and located 5 minutes walking from a beautiful beach and lots of restaurants. Lack of elevator and not enough parking take out some of its points.

lovely hotel with palm tree lined entrance , staff were all polite and helpfull especially Claudia who helped with tranfers and boarding pass requirements with a smile, the complementary breakfast is more than adequate and set in a lovely breakfast room that leads onto the pool terrace if you wish to enjoy alfresco. The pool is immaculate and rooms large enough, 5 minutes from beach cove and a few restaurants , 15/20 min stroll along coastal track to Praia rocha if you seek lively strip of shops bars and restaurants , 5 euro by taxi.

Very basic, very clean, very overpriced.

Our room and the hotel were very clean, however, the bathroom door neither locked or stayed closed, the bedside units were coming away from the wall, there was no ventilation or decent lighting in the bathroom, there are no basic amenities such as a hair dryer or kettle. The dated decor could have passed as rustic or traditional if things like the built in radio actually worked, however it seemed instead to be outdated and in need of some tlc. The breakfast is basic European style, but you'll have to get there early as the food runs out fairly fast and isn't replaced. This was part of a three leg journey and we found much better accommodation for the same price elsewhere, including Madrid.

The saving graces of this hotel was its immaculate cleanliness and its picturesque pool.

Bra. Personalen lät mig äta frukost tidigare när jag skulle passa flyget. Men lite dålig städning i rummet. Toan läckte och det fanns bara 2 vägguttag och dom var vid dörren, inga bredvid sämgen . Annars fint hotell, helt ok frukost. Det var väldigt lyhört, behövde sova med öronproppar.

O ralo do banheiro não escoava a água do banho, o quarto tinha que manter a janela fechada devido a falta de privacidade, por estar voltado no primeiro piso para o estacionamento. E a porta do apartamento apresentava dificuldade ao abrir

La plage au calme

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à l'Hôtel Alcaide ! Notre chambre était spacieuse et propre, et nous avons été très bien accueillies. Bien que le stationnement sur place soit limité et quelque peu difficile en raison du manque d'espace, nous avons facilement trouvé des places à l'extérieur en avril. Le petit-déjeuner sucré-salé servi à côté de la piscine était superbe, tout comme les espaces communs tels que le bar et la terrasse à l'étage. L'hôtel est idéalement situé à quelques minutes à pied de la plage, et il y a plusieurs restaurants à proximité, ce qui est très pratique.

Accueil du réceptionniste Bruno agréable et sympathique qui était la seule chose positive.
La chambre était correcte et confortable mais très mal exposé côté ouest et avec une vue sur un terrain vague dangereux et très embroussaillé !
Les équipements sont de moyennes qualités et pour la plupart défectueux, comme notamment dans notre chambre le pommeau de douche avec un jet d’eau aléatoire et irrégulier et qui éclaboussait dans tout les sens ainsi que le levier du mitigeur d’eau du lavabo qui se détachait sans cesse à l’ouverture de l’eau !
Les draps de lit et serviettes de douche pas très propre et ne sont jamais changer lors du séjour ainsi que le ménage et la propreté qui laisse énormément à désirer !
La piscine était très peu fréquentés et quasiment jamais nettoyer avec beaucoup de saleté et d’insalubrité en surface ainsi qu’à l’intérieur.
Le petit déjeuner était de moyenne qualité avec très peu de choix et la machine à café de petite taille et très souvent prise d’assaut à l’ouverture de la salle de bon matin.
La salle du petit déjeuner est beaucoup trop petite avec beaucoup trop de monde au même moment et pour un début de saison et début de mois de mai plutôt fréquentés.
Je ne recommande absolument pas cet établissement et pour un niveau rapport qualité prix vraiment plutôt médiocre et décevant pour le Portugal !

No geral boa, no particular da casa de banho medíocre, já que era suposto uma casa de banho adaptada a pessoas com mobilidade reduzida, e isso não aconteceu, porque apenas tem base de chuveiro ao nível do chão, não tem banco, nem arranjaram um conveniente, não tem barras de apoio, a sanita é exageradamente alta e desconfortável, o lava mãos é diminuto, em suma não é para pessoas com mobilidade reduzida.

Hôtel très propre et très confortable. Le personnel est adorable et très à l’ecoute. Les chambres disposent toutes d’un balcon et sont calmes. Serviette de bain et de plage fournies ce qui est un réel plus pour ne pas surcharger les valises. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et propose un large choix ( boisson chaude, jus de fruit, yaourt, fruits, bacon, jambon, œuf à la coque ou brouillé, fromage, pain, gâteau,...)
La piscine est idéale pour nager ou s’amuser, de nombreux transats sont à disposition pour se reposer ainsi qu’un salon de jardin ombragé pour ceux qui redoutent le soleil.
La situation de l’hotel est idéale : à 3 mins à pied de la plage de Vau et d’une superette. Vous pouvez également rejoindre Portimão et Alvor à pied en quelques minutes, cela se fait très bien à longeant les plages. En prime : de magnifiques balades!

L’hôtel propose également des taxis pour l’aéroport à 60€ ce qui est bien plus avantageux que de le prendre par soit même !

Nous avons passé est super séjour !! Merci beaucoup !

Emplacement idéal.

Superbra hotel värt priset lite obekväma kuddar men det e ju en smaksak. Nära till stranden men finns inte jätte mycket att göra runt om kring om en inte vill gå till hotelet bredvid som har show typ varjekväll... men kan även avnjutas från sin balkong då det hörs rejält( slutar tidigt som tur är). Rent och fräscha rum.

Fin lokalt hotel, 5 minutter fra strand.

Dint lille hotel, med dejligt poolområde. Ligger ikke langt fra stranden med klipperne. Noget af det mest seværdige i Portugal synes jeg.
Hotellet ligger lidt øde men nemt at komme til i bil. Et roligt kvarter der virker trygt, med masser af P pladser som hotellet ikke har mange af. Men det gik. 200 meter derfra ligger en super lækker restaurant med professionel betjening og rigtig gode priser. Lidt gourmet agtigt. Wine&diner. Tag derhen.

Super ptit dej. Super piscine propre.
Chambre propre mais douche et lits moyens.
Pas de possibilité de se garer à l hôtel( à peine 7 places à l intérieur).
