Staff were excellent. Bar and restaurant very nice. Beds were sub standard. Location on beach is excellent with an elevator for convenient beach access. Cleaning staff were excellent. Nice stay all in all.

Facility is very scenic with the outlook to the water and private access to beach. Room was nice with a balcony facing the lawn. The door to get to the balcony was tougher to open than expected, could use some maintenance. The staff was very nice however when i asked several times for a scale to weight my bag for my upcoming flight the said it was out of batteries which is understandable. However a day and a half later as i was checking out the scale still didn't work. Minor inconvenience but i expected more from a Facility like this. Additionally in several areas there were ants inside the Facility. On the last day i found them in my room and have been picking them off my bag all the way until now when im sitting at my gate to my flight home.
One of the reasons i booked this was the hot tub that was indicated in the description. This Facility does not have a hot tub however which was very disappointing. Seems like a much better place to stay in the summer season.

I was very surprised at how affordable it was prior but after i understand. Pretty good for the price i paid.

Breakfast buffet is great. The beach is gorgeous and theres 2 restaraunts on the beach as well both are great. Parking is easy and plenty of spots.. I gave 4 stars bc the air conditioner is not great we left the sliding door open to cool down the room which was nice fresh breeze. Overall the property is nice...

Our Seaview cliff studio was tired and needs updating. However the main cleaning lady we met was wonderful and did a good job.
Staff were mostly polite and engaging.
Wifi was ok.
Breakfast was good in variety but something were cold ( scrambled eggs were watery and held in a very large pan.

Very friendly staff. I requested a quiet room and that is what they gave me so I was very pleased. Still with a sea view but at the end of the corridor so a long walk but very little corridor noise.
Breakfast selection very good and enjoyed the piano serenade.

States quite clearly, the room would be ready at 3pm, however because our flight was early we arrived at 11am, hoping a room be made available but not to be, we were told 3pm. Had a bit of lunch wandered around, came back around 3pm, the receptionist asked my name again & said the room was still not ready, come back 4pm., We returned at 4pm, the same receptionist asked my name for the third tiime … & the room was still not ready, we eventually got in at 4.30,. Great place but a shocking welcome..!

The property condition was 2 star. Rooms and bathrooms are very old . We had to switch 2 rooms . The first room had a leak from the ceiling and the bathroom in the second room was very old and discusting . The worse part was the smell of the swage which was like a rotten egg .Unfortunately we had to deal with this smell at night time during our stay. It seemed all the rooms have this issue as we had to change the room 2 times and this smell was in every room.
The great things about this hotel was the location , views, accessibility to a gourgous beach, buffet breakfast. Staffs are also very freindly and helpful.
If the condition of the property is important to you and ofcourse the swage smell is something you can not tolerate , Do Not book this hotel.

Loved the view and closeness to the beach. Nice to be able to sit outside with a drink and enjoy a relaxing day.

I was quite disappointed that they had not yet turned on the A/c for the season. All I could do was open the door which did not have a screen. I was ALWAYS warm overnight even when taking the heavy duvet out of the sheets. In my opinion, thermostat/temperature should be an option for the guest and for that reason alone, I probably would NOT stay again or recommend.

Location is very nice. Beautiful beach. Facilities is good. Would like to see the whirlpools both in and out be heated. Same temperature as main pools. The furniture in our suite was sub-par with only one lightbulb for the whole room. It was dark at night with this small floor lamp. The furniture was old and uncomfortable as was the table and chairs. More suited for a beach, not the suite. The only other issue was the hotel signage. There isn’t any on the road leading into the hotel. We arrived late at night and couldn’t find the hotel for a while because all you see is a gate that opens with your hotel room card or you ring a bell. You can’t see the hotel from the main road. With no actual signage to say this was the hotel entrance is not acceptable.

Stay far away from this property. Staff were rude from the moment we walked in. Prepaid for this room and were turned away because we didn’t have our passports but had our license and a Canadian resident card. We tried explaining this to front desk who went to the manager who then told her to say he was busy in Portuguese. Which they did not realize I spoke the language and could understand they were saying. They’re now disputing the credit card company stating we did not show up. When we called Expedia from the lobby they then called the manager who told them he’d call them back later!! Absolutely horrible customer service. We were later told by a guest on the beach that the hotel had actually been over booked so probably why they had no problem sending us away

Food was beyond excellent. The hotel was beautiful. The room was clean. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. My only small disappointment was there was no hot tub. There was a cold tub outside of the gym. I am not sure if that was supposed to be a hot tub and it was just broken or not? Would definitely stay here again. The property is beautiful and well kept. Amazing sunsets every single night. Parking was very easy which was refreshing considering parking elsewhere in Portugal has been difficult. I also liked the location. It wasn't difficult to get to other parts of Algarve.

For a 5 star hotel it lacks a few things, housekeeping in the room was a bit hit & miss, had to top up out tea/coffee tray ourselves, breakfast was very disorganised, tables were not set, waited ages for coffee then there were no cups, and areas around the hotel are very unsafe for the elderly and small children, lots of little hidden steps, witnessed two falls which could have potentially been quite bad, hotel needs an uplift , and I object to being charged a service fee every time I made a purchase from the bar, even for just water ! Although overall our stay was good, we would not return to this hotel

The property is beautiful, the area and beach where it is located is amazing, however the rooms we had were small, quite tired looking, aged and the air-conditioning did not cool much, fortunately the weather was cool enough that sleeping with open windows was a better option.
The night we arrived, we are at the hotel bar, unfortunatelly this was the worst meal we (5 people) had, not only during our trip but in general. The breakfast buffet was good and very convenient.
If some remodeling takes place, this will be an amazing property, worth of their 5 star class.

The place is very unclean . The service is horrible, my pants were damaged because the seat in the restaurant was greasy.When I asked to clean my pants professionally they said it would take too many days. The manager asked me to give all my information and buy the new pants and send the receipt. I did it and call many times and they promise return money on my account, but they never did. The manager Marina Gonzalez is lier and whole management is scam. :-(

We received 5 star service in a 4 star property. This hotel is in need of investment, the bedroom furnishings & decor are very tired. The gym was awful with the majority of the equipment broken and in need of a deep clean. The mattress was very worn and uncomfortable. I feel sorry for the staff as they go out of their way to give you excellent service. The location is beautiful too, ideal for lovely long walks along the boardwalk.

The views, location and staff service really make this hotel. Unfortunately we did not receive room upgrade with VIP status but the included wine was excellent. The daily breakfast buffet was very good and we enjoyed the selection of vegetables available with the salad offerings at the dinner buffet. The only reason I give this a 4 vs 5 stars is the matresses and furnishings really need an update. The mattress was very uncomfortable. And no matter how low we made the AC in the room it just never got really cool. With having a sea view room you do get to hear the ocean all night but I did find it hard to sleep with the mattress and room temperature. I would recommend this hotel for everything else though!

We had a wonderful time at the resort. The age group was there was generally 60+. The service was tremendous. At our first breakfast they asked about our room. I mentioned the shower drained a bit slow and within the hour a maintenance person was in our room. We had a nice larger room and a free bottle of wine because of my Vip status in hotels.com.

We had a room on the 6th floor with a view of the ocean. It was magical at night with a full moon. The hotel was clean. Check in was quick, and efficient. The outdoor pool was a little chilly but refreshing. The staff was very friendly especially in the gift shop and it is small but very nice. They sell stamps too. The breakfast buffet was very good, but the evening buffet was awful. I had never seen potato chips, pizza, or what looked like frozen fish sticks on a buffet before. The price was ridiculous for the price. Lunch was good at the pool and also next door at the off property restaurant on the beach. We enjoyed our stay but would not eat at the evening buffet again. Drinks were good and the music in the bar one evening was excellent.

My stay was less than 3 days and the staff was professional and courteous. We were welcomed by staff at the entrance who helped with our luggage and directed to a swift check in process. The “garden view” received was not as nice a view as we imagined based on online images. However, walking around the facility the side facing the ocean was much better maintained. Breakfast was nice, and the staff was very attentive to our needs. The room was clean, but my initial hand towel/wash rag had what look liked dried up gum on it. The front desk had it replaced right away. The decor around the hotel from top to bottom was charming.

The food was lovely with lots of choice and the buffet was of a very good quality. Covid measures were in place. Our room was perfect with a large terrace overlooking the beautiful pool and beach and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and can’t wait to return.

Perfect hotel in perfect location

The hotel was very good, located at the beginning of 7km long sand beach. Breakfast was excellent. Inner swimming pool is too shallow to swim. Outer swimming pool is large and deep enough, but was very cold in November. Location is perfect for those who love nature, sun, calmness. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Many rooms are small and a lot of them still outdated and not well cared for. My room even had spider webs near the door. The room had an awful smell like sewerage. At checkout, the person didn’t even ask how our stay was, only cared that we paid for the drinks we had during our stay. Food was ok. Not worth what we paid for.

The setting of this property situated above the beach, being an easy walk down and I love the fact the hotel and accommodation doesn't dominate the skyline.
This hotel has a family feel about it and the staff cannot do enough for you and although we are in Covid era, it felt safe and clean in all areas. Gorgeous sunsets dining outside and if you need to relax this is the hotel. Lots of activities in the area and places to explore.

From outside the building was very impressive and so were the grounds.The communal areas were tastefully done and spacious except for the dining areas where the tables were very close to each other so you couldn’t converse privately.
The games room only had a pool table in it and not much else.
There were little steps throughout the building that I am amazed no one has tripped up or down as it’s a dark hotel and you don’t always realise they are there.
Our room was grubby and we were on the sixth floor that had a balcony,but when sat in the chairs we could not see the sea etc as the wall was up to eye level.
The bedding,towels and bathrobes were old and worn out.The bath was very small and there were cracks in the floor tiles.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful,but distant.
The music played on the piano at breakfast although beautifully done was very depressing to start the day off.The entertainment was what I would expect in a 3 star hotel.
There was no atmosphere here ,quite an odd feeling.
The pool area was good,but worn out towels and the umbrellas were stained.
We had a lovely big bed,but it had too many layers beneath and the duvet was thick making it hot to sleep in.
When the wind was up it howled through the apartment very loudly
There was nothing to do ,but sit on a beach which you now have to pay to hire the loungers or go into the town.One you have done that it’s boring.
We caught the tour bus to Portimao which was like a concrete jungle.

The hotel needs major upgrades. Even the bathroom faucet broke down and needed the maintenance man to come and spend time to fix it. With the exception of the staff in the restaurant ( Diego, Nunez) and the Katlyn at the entrance), most of the staff including reception need major customer service training. For the price we paid (more than any of the 5 star hotels we have stayed in Portugal), this one did not meet our expectations. There are other places one can stay in the area for better price and better experience. However, we mayst say, Diego in the restaurant and his manager Nunez as well as Kathlyn who greeted us ever day were exceptional employees who really care about their customers. Those were the ones who made a difference.

The view of beach was very nice and the beach access was excellent. Staff was very friendly, but sometimes not very attentive. The daily room charge holds, even when prepaid in full, is unacceptable. I understand an incidental credit card hold, but to recharge me almost $300 a night ties up additional funds on people’s cards. The showers are also very small. For a 6ft 200lb for person, I found it hard to even turnaround in the cruise ship size shower.

Beautiful views, and facilities but with breakfast time, a real problem with gulls snatching your breakfast...
Also to be charged 5 euros for a bottle of water was disgusting, all the other hotels on our trip gave a free bottle of water.

Area, hotel and staff are great.

Area, hotel and staff are great. The breakfast was not a 5 star hotel worthy - limited options - however maybe because we where there off-season...
A nice touch was the cleaning ladies \"valentines greeting\".
I still don't understand why music is relevant at the breakfast!? It was live via a pianoplayer who played quite loud.

We loved every minute of our time spent in that hotel. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Everything was set to put us at ease .The stunning view of the beach from the coffee room was breath taking.
2 mins walking to the beach and 15 mins to the next town ALVOR.
Really deserve his 5 stars status.

Relaxing Christmas break

The hotel is lovely, very close to the beach with a lift or stair access. The views are gorgeous. Spa facilities are good, steam room not the best, wasn't working one day. Staff very helpful - kitchen staff not the best. I have a nut allergy and asked for help with which dishes contained nuts. Was told I could eat everything, though it was obvious there were nuts in at least 4 of the dishes. Quite worrying. Would go back but would not use the restaurant. Magic Spa have some good treatments and also give you 20% off with the voucher you are given at check in. Wi-Fi has good signal. Crazy golf isnt the best, metal course and very bouncy balls, we were chasing balls all over, lost a couple over the cliff edge and gave up, haha!!
Restaurant at the beach just outside the hotel is nice, and ideal to watch the sunset. We preferred to walk the boardwalk into Alvor and eat in the restaurants there. Lots of fish dishes to choose from.
