My boyfriend and I had an incredible stay at Caldera Cliff Illusion. We were visiting Santorini for his birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. Sofia at the front desk arranged for balloons and a birthday cake to be delivered to our room for breakfast, which was such a thoughtful touch. She was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help with anything we needed.

Sofia also recommended Rizes for dinner, and it ended up being the best meal we had during our entire stay in Santorini. The service and recommendations truly elevated our experience.

The location of the hotel was fantastic, with breathtaking caldera views that were both stunning and romantic. While there are steps leading to the property (as is common in Santorini), the hotel arranged for someone to assist with our luggage from the street, making arrival completely stress-free.

Between the exceptional hospitality, beautiful accommodations, unforgettable views, and excellent value, we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. We would absolutely return and highly recommend Caldera Cliff Illusion to anyone visiting Santorini. ❤️

I definitely enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The views are truly amazing! Great staff & very helpful. Sofia’s customer service exceeded my expectations! The breakfast was also good. However, I was in a room on the 1st floor & the deck with the hot tub lacked privacy. That is my only criticism. Would suggest to future travelers to request a room that is not on the 1st floor.

A nice view, but not quite \"Luxury\", more of an \"Illusion\"

Having stayed at several other hotels across Greece during this trip, I wouldn't call this \"Luxury\". It feels more like an upscale guesthouse.

The room had a nice patio with a good view, and breakfast is delivered to your room each morning which is a nice touch - though my wife found it a little less appealing after catching a glimpse of the basement kitchen it comes from.

The biggest issue during our stay was a strong sewer smell coming from the shower drain- likely a P-trap problem. We ended up covering the drain and keeping the windows open, which helped. We mentioned it to the staff, who were friendly about it and said they'd follow up, though it never got resolved. We didn't push it further as we only had a few short days on the island and didn't want to spend them chasing the issue. Reading between the lines though, I suspect it's a known problem - the room had a very strong air freshener smell when we arrived, which in hindsight was probably there for a reason.

One other thing worth knowing: the rooms and patios are quite close together, closer than the photos suggest. You can see and hear neighbouring guests easily, which surprised a few people we spoke to during the stay.

Overall, the location is genuinely good, but I wish I'd done a bit more research beforehand - there are a lot of options at this price point and I think some of them offer better value for what you're getting.

Our stay at Caldera Cliffs was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and genuine care. The views over the caldera were nothing short of breathtaking — every sunrise and sunset felt like a private show just for us.

The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We especially loved the private terrace and plunge pool — the perfect spot to unwind while soaking in the scenery.

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, always friendly and eager to help with recommendations or arrangements. The breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious, featuring local ingredients and plenty of variety.

We left feeling completely relaxed and already dreaming about our next visit. Caldera Cliffs is the perfect combination of luxury, tranquility, and genuine Greek charm. Highly recommended it.

We loved our stay at Caldera Cliff Illusion. The staff, particularly Sofia were so helpful with our booking, activity suggestions and anything else that we needed. The stay was comfortable and quiet. Having our own pool was amazing, especially in the heat of July. Breakfast being delivered each morning to enjoy on our balcony was also a great touch.
Would recommend this accomodation for couples that like to be a few street away from the hustle bustle of Santorini in July, without being too far from the action.

We had such an amazing stay here! Sophia and the staff are great! The place was very clean, had an amazing view, and was in the perfect spot of town to avoid the main crowd but still in the heart of Fira. We stayed 12 nights and had the most relaxing time in Santorini. Sophia gave great recommendations on the island and can schedule activities, transports, and really anything you need. The breakfasts were also really good and they packed us to go bags on mornings we were out early for activities. If we are ever back in Santorini we have a go to spot!

Exceptional hospitality shown by Sofia and her team. They greeted us at the taxi drop off location and helped us carry our luggage to the hotel. They tended to all our requests immediately during our stay. On our departure day, we had a 6:30am flight, so Sofia specifically dropped off to-go breakfast boxes for us the night before after her work hours. However, the to-go breakfast boxes only included a simple sandwich, a packaged juice and some packaged food items, which were no comparison to the standard hot breakfast normally served to our room.

One disappointment was the outdoor private jacuzzi. Even though the weather was chilly and very windy during our stay, we still planned to enjoy the beautiful sea view from inside the jacuzzi. However, we couldn't get in the jacuzzi at all because the water was too cold.

Not a great experience

The room was clean and comfortable, but my experience was disrupted by an unfortunate incident. From my hot tub, in what we then believed was supposed to be our space, instead of a view of the ocean, we ended up having only a view of a couple who was lying down right in front of us. To make matters worse, the couple began acting in sexual manners, prompting us to go back inside our room. On a positive note, the breakfast was good, and the morning staff was friendly.

Location is amazing and not too many steps from the drop off, husband had a walking stick and survived the journey. Rooms were amazing and a view to die for, due to hubby hip injury he was happy to stay on the balcony in the private spa and admire the view while I ventured out and conquered Santorini maze of steps. I would definitely recommend caldera cliff illusion and I would stay there again.

Good overall experience

The hotel is nice, clean, helpful staff, great breakfast and amazing view.
I highly recommend arranging transfer from port-airport through them, simpler, reasonably priced and they can help guide you to the hotel; they can also help carrying your luggage 😊. They contacted us via WhatsApp before our travels so we can arrange services prior to our arrival.

We had a miscommunication and had to find our own transportation from the port where transporters are haggling and costs are quite high. Also, since the hotel is located in the smaller streets you can’t access via car. Our non-hotel-hired driver just pointed us in a direction to get there. Also the hotel doesn’t have any outside signage, making it difficult to find. We had loaded our maps and recognized the inside from the photos.

My only con was the hot tub was not hot enough during our stay. Its called a hot tub, not a warm tub.
