The room was beautiful, Lorenzo the cleaner was awesome. Front desk Service was not great. Charged me extra when my mom visited, even though the grand junior suite was for 4 people. The pool bar was often not attended. Three days they were using jackhammers in the hotel and didn’t notify us. When we checked out, they didn’t even ask me how my experience was. Customer service was not great, especially for an expensive boutique hotel.

Staff was great! Room was large but cleanliness was a big disappointment. Towels had red/brown spots, grey from washing, some ripped and some tiny. Additionally, the shower head was extremely dirty and rusty. Water pressure was terrible and temperatures kept shifting. Location was ok but not the best. Overall clean room for Mexican standards, missing some amenities for the kitchen like dishwashing soap & sponge. Hot water on & off throughout the stay, but they accommodated us by proposing another room for our hot showers, inconvenience to step out of the room each time. Well situated near a great gym, restaurants, beach & 5th avenue. Big room great for a family of 3 or 4. Breakfast & restaurant staff very friendly.

The main issue which was not communicated was that the front of hotel was undergoing major road construction.Being that i had a lot of luggage it was a big inconvenience,i had to walk 2 blocks to get a taxi .Along with the noise of jackhammers late into the night ,my stay was less than comfortable

The pool bar was generally unstaffed, no idea if there was food available up there as well. The restaurant staff completely ignored us when we walked in, so we left. When we checked in, I was told breakfast was not included with our stay (even tho I had purchased a stay with breakfast) and I was urged to pay separately for that, I declined and then was told that ‘they forgot, and breakfast was included’. This property has lots of potential but the staff seem unhappy to be there and the attempt to scam upon check in was disheartening.

This is on the edge of the developed North side for that reason it's quite other than Friday nights when there's a club night at the roof. If you arrive Friday you'll hear it even blocks away but you would be so tired anyway it's ok. Rest of the time is quiet and lovely as it's not as much traffic.
Super convenient wirh Selecto super market close by and a very nice bakery right across the street. Calle 38 was also by far the easiest to walk up and down between 5th and the local hub 30th for a real authentic experience.
If you want do the beach club they are associated with Martina beach club so you don't have to pay for the chair. Only credits for drinks and food.
The hotel also gives you beach towels if you want to just go to the beach. Which is super convienient with public access again on 38th. Just grab a towel and head down after 2 as there's large shade by the entrance left and you don't need to rent umbrella. Also at the entrance is an OXXO so you just need to buy a cooler bag to keep your drinks cold.
Note about playa. At the ado station you'll pay about 150 peso for taxi. Or use the radio PDC app. But you'll have to go a block away and put in an address of where you are to get pick up as it isn't allow to pick up at the main roads. It's 75pesos instead to travel between ado station to this hotel.

We got one that’s set up like a one bedroom. Kitchenette, nice dining table and sofa in one space separated from bedroom and bathroom.Clean and quiet. Nice staffs.Don’t expect wonderful views outside of balcony, you’re in the “city”,just get a higher floor. We checked out the roof top pool. A very nice set up, if you like to hang by the pool it’s for you. We paid a fee to hotel to use the Martina Beach Club. Worth it !

I've stayed at this wonderful hotel a few times now, and it never disappoints. The front desk staff is always amazing and incredibly helpful. The suites are clean, comfortable, and perfectly suited to our needs. One of the highlights is the rooftop pool—it’s absolutely lovely and offers stunning views of the city, including a partial view of the ocean. The location is also perfect—just a short walk to the beach and surrounded by fantastic restaurants and shops, only a block away from 5th Avenue. Highly recommended!

We find the location really convenient and still just enough removed from the loud areas of 5th Ave. We will continue to go back here again and again. No reason to look for a different hotel.

It’s hard to review this hotel because it has pros and cons. The pros are it’s a great value - a modern roomy suite with separate living room, balcony, kitchenette, comfy bed in a spacious bedroom, daily housekeeping. Most staff was friendly. However, one staffer charged us $90 pesos for getting makeup spots on towels and a pillow case. She called me to the front desk to tell me this mid-week like being called into the principal’s office. I thought it over and signed her little form for $90 MX and took great care thereafter to not leave any spots on the towels. Then, after checking out and paying in full at the front desk last night before checking out this morning, the same staffer came out on the front steps and asked me to come back inside to pay for 2 bottles of water and 2 soft drinks. I told her we were paid in full, that we paid last night for two bottles of water and that we never drank any of their soft drinks at all. She argued with me about it! (1) we were paid in full with receipts (2) it was so petty (3) she openly doubted me over 2 water bottles & two soft drinks (4) a bummer sendoff after 7 nights. It was very strange behavior. This hotel is not the Four Seasons, but it is a nice place to stay in town for the equation of quality divided by price equals value. There is a small rooftop pool. For the beach we paid to go to nearby beach clubs. Club Martina was our favorite. Be aware you Csnyon but Day Passes to many of the All-inclusives if you wish.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful from the moment I arrived. The room was not clean—there were visible stains on the furniture, and it looked like it hadn’t been properly sanitized. Housekeeping never came to clean the room during my stay, and when I asked for extra towels, I was given a hard time as if it were a huge inconvenience.
To make matters worse, they charged me extra at check-in even though I had already paid for my entire stay in advance. The parking garage was a nightmare—small, poorly lit, and difficult to navigate. On top of that, there was loud music playing all night, making it impossible to get any rest.

The hotel was exactly as advertised. The balcony, kitchen and rooms were modestly sized, but worked well for the two of us. Two televisions with popular streaming services kept us entertained on rainy days.

There was a Salsa Night on Friday that guests were invited to, although it seemed to be open to the public. The fairly loud music lasted until 1:30, so that is something to consider if it might be an issue.

Second time selecting this Hotel. It is located in the area we enjoy the most in Playa del Carmen. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. We enjoy the swimming pool and the dancing event one of the evenings. We will definitely look forward to our next visit in Serenity.

Corner Suite was great overall! Some of the furniture looked dated simple changes(rugs and sofa cushions) would make this place really pop and make it more appealing! However the pool closes at 7 pm (really) just the perfect time to go to the pool. Found out later the pool closes to hotel guests so that they can rent out the pool and pool bar for events!

Everything was amazing about my stay except the shower as the water never got hot so I actually was taking chilly showers No matter if I took one during the day or in the evening, the water never warmed up . The breakfast every morning was fantastic and the entire stay was comfortable and location was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again!!!

Great location near to everything but quiet. Big suites and nice rooftop bar and pool. Sadly the internet went out all weekend which was very inconvenient.

We were so happy with our stay. The hotel is beautiful, clean, modern and feels very luxurious. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was very well equipped and cleaned well every day. We will for sure be staying here again and will be recommending the hotel to everyone.

I liked that the property was somewhat away from the noisy tourist areas but close enough to easily walk to the tourist areas when we wanted to. The beach was a short walk away as were several restaurants. A grocery store was a short walk (two blocks) away also. The room was very nice. The only drawback was that soundproofing between rooms was non existent. Our neighbours were quiet for the most part thank goodness but there were occasions when things got too noisy and patience was required.

Serenity was the perfect base for our exploration of Playa del Carmen. It was an easy walk to anywhere we went. Being off the main boulevard it’s quiet at night. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Personally I found the mid-century modern design style quite appealing, but appreciated the upgrades in the kitchen. I would recommend this spot for an extended stay.

The property itself is good, good location just one block behind the 5th Ave, has a lot of eateries, restaurants, a 24 hours convenient store just on the corner, beaches are just 5-8 mins walk. Room is spacious and clean, however the water pressure a bit of low.Hard to get a good shower but that just me.
