Unfortunately, we had an incident where money was stolen from our room. I had hidden some US dollars, which to find you would have to look through my things. Whilst we were away from the room, someone had gone through my stuff and taken some money.
When I told the reception staff they said that I had to wait until the next day to talk to the boy who cleaned the room. He said that I was checking out, however I was not checking out for another day (which seemed to suprise him)
The next day I asked the reception staff what was happening. He said that the cleaning boy (who I think was his son) had not taken anything. He went on to say that you should not leave things lying around in your room.
I stopped him there and said: 1. The money was hidden and you'd have to search for it and 2. There is a level of trust at a hotel that you can leave your possessions in it without them being stolen. He then said Ok and that I would need to talk to his boy.
About 15mins later the reception staff and the cleaning staff came to find me and he said he did not take anything. I said that's what anyone would say and somehow my money is missing.
The reception staff then asked if I wanted my money back, which I obviously answered yes to.
After some time he came to find me again and gave me 50US dollars and made me sign 2 different pieces of paper
