I stayed in APA hotels in Shinjuku and Ueno - both excellent. It is a great chain for a 'middle class traveller'. I booked last minute for this one and now know why it had a vacancy! This particular one could do a better job in customer service....said politely. They gave me a regular small room (1 person), However, the bed was not elevated like in the other APA hotels - to store my suitcases etc. I asked to be moved, when possible, (people come and go everyday) and he/they bluntly said, \"no, don't like it, go to another hotel!\" Not a word of a lie. I had spent 6 previous nights in an APA hotel and was spending 4 nights there and they won't move me to the same size room, I only wanted an elevated bed! On top of it, one towel and one cup provided - paper cups to boot (the others had nice glass ones). The 'really friendly' 'general' manager stood at the front door at certain times and surveyed you and if you were staying there. When I first walked up to check in, he didn't say hello, he said, \"Passport!!\". Don't get the bfast either - also....less desirable. The Bfast at the Shinjuku APA was awesome!! I am a low maintenance traveller, so for this to be unfavourable, think twice before booking. My two cents. Ian from Canada

Poor advertisement when it comes to laundry. There is a laundry establishment 2 blocks away where you can wash your own clothes. In the hotel, there is only a cleaning service with high prices to wash and dry clothes through the hotel.

Front desk staff were very accommodating thru my inability to converse in Japanese. Room and bath were very clean, deep bathtub was a bonus. No closet 2 wall pegs and four hangers provided. Very convenient to get around Tokyo, train station within walking distance. Very quiet outside, being a couple blocks away from the late night bar and restaurant scene. Sorry, I did not partake in the breakfast package. Would definitely stay there again!

The bed was comfortable in an otherwise cramped room. Sold as a single, but says it can sleep 2. 2 people would really struggle in this room. It's ok for 1 but not really a tourist hotel more business user or single traveller. My biggest complaint is the ridiculously high step into the bathroom. I stayed in another APA hotel which was the same. It is a serious trip hazard and very inconvenient and uncomfortable entering or exiting. The door to the bathroom is also very narrow, I could not go in or out without having to pass through sideways.

However it appears it was that was in Expedia which either means it was Expedia’s fault or bad user interface, or mine. Hotel had no non smoking rooms but found one that needed a minor repair and I took that one, they were very accommodating. I stay here every time I’m in Tokyo.

Water sink in the room is hard to control its hot/cool. 2. Staff who cleaned our room often forgot different refreshment. (Water, towels) so we had to request for those separately which isn’t a big deal but still could be better.

Great stay for a Tokyo hotel
Your good quality but average Tokyo hotel, the rooms aren’t very large but for this price point you won’t be getting anything larger in Tokyo. The breakfast was nice, but I would just pay for it if you want it on the day - there are plenty of convince stores and restaurants around the hotel for a later breakfast than what the hotel offers.

I stayed here for my first visit to Tokyo. I picked this hotel for the price and location and I was not disappointed. It is in a safe, clean neighborhood next to a 7-11 and there are two metro stops (Toronomon and Shimashi) nearby that I used daily. Plenty of good and close restaurants, and it is an easy walk to Tokyo Tower. The room itself was small but had everything I needed. My only very small complaint is that the pillows were not comfortable, very flat, but the bed was nice and the room was clean. The front desk was very nice and even helped me book a massage reservation since I don't speak Japanese.

This hotel is in a business district that is quieter on the weekends but easy to get to Tokyo sites, many by walking. There are plenty of restaurants as well. The room was small but clean and well in excellent repair. Staff was polite, and able to help me sometimes despite my poor Japanese. They have signage and instructions in English. Not a lot of extras but when you are touring you are gone all day and collapse at night. There is a small restaurant (Italian) attached where breakfast (mostly Japanese style but with European options) which you can include for a reasonable price.

This had to be the worst hotel I stayed in….ever! I am in International business, travelled to over 40 countries for the past 20+ years, stayed in hundreds of hotels, was based in Tokyo for 23 years and while Japanese business hotels are generally small, this hotel offers broom closet sized rooms!
1. Smallest possible room. No room for any luggage, Too cramped.Guests are racked and stacked. Should be called a capsule hotel.
2. The breakfast was horrible. Tasteless scrambled eggs, no toaster, crappy,stale bread, mystery meat sausages made me feel nauseous. They gotta change the menue and the chef. ( sorry chef )
3. Only two outlets to charge your devices in the room. Oh but they do offer an adsl cable connection ( who the heck uses those anymore??? )
4. No usb charging port.
5. English TV selection is nil. BBC news is only English channel but has only one audio setting that has both Japanese audio translations overlaid on English. That will drive you nuts!
6. If you want to have a late check out….forget it. If you really need to stay later then its 1,000JPY an hour. No flexibility regardless of the fact that I stayed at this hotel for 9 days and 1000+USD later.

Great easy location with a nice view of the next door park. It's Tokyo, so a small room is to be expected, but the room had all that we needed... comfortable double bed, full bathroom with lots of amenities (razors, your brushes, pony tail holders, hair brushes, and more!), toilet with hot water bidet, large tv, free WiFi, and similar. Breakfast was delicious. And the staff very welcoming.

Small but nice room, good design to make it functional despite the size. Corner rooms are slightly bigger, so I'd wish I gotten one of those. Elevator is slow and seems it's always crowded. The neighborhood doesn't have much to do and it's a 15 min walk to the subway, which isn't ideal.
