We stayed at Candeo Hotel Shinbashi as a family of five and booked two rooms since no family rooms are available. The rooms were decent, though the beds were small and a bit tricky with a child in between.
The location is fantastic, close to shops, restaurants, the station, and within walking distance to Ginza.
The only downside was the laundry facilities, small, costly, and inefficient. We had to run the dryer three times to get our clothes dry, and there were only two washers and dryers.
Overall, a good hotel for convenience and exploring Tokyo, but families should be aware of the room and laundry limitations.

We are a family of three staying at the hotel for two nights. The front reception is on the 11/f and there is no staff just two lifts on the ground floor. The area seems safe but could feel a bit quiet while waiting for the lifts going up. Amenities and facilities are good with this size. There are laundry service as well as washing machine and dryer. Amenities are great . There are toothbrushes, slippers (even kids size) and spa wear provided. Shampoo and shower gel are good quality. Morning buffet can be busy as the dining area is small. It serves majority Japanese style breakfast with some English breakfast selection. The last order time is 10:30am and the buffet finishes at 11am. We were rejected for purchasing breakfast ticket at 10:29am so don’t be too last minute especially with the crowd otherwise there are lots of choices in other towns eg akihabara with just 9 minutes walk to the train station. The restaurants around the hotels are mainly opened for later of the day. Spa is great and the lifts are particularly busy with people going up to spa in the evening. Room size is not bad there is a long window sofa that provides extra space for rest and storage.
Generally we are happy with the hotel stay with the price and the comfort provided. It is value for money and generally good quality .

Room service was daily. Even when we didn't need the room cleaned, they left water and fresh towels for us. The shower water temperature fluctuated regularly. Laundry machines were avaliable and the surrounding area was convenient.

For 3 adults having a triple bed option was great. Location was extremely nice as convenience stores and restaurants galore. Very clean and organized room. It is small in footage so don’t bring a lot of luggage to try to manage in room. It can make it awkward trying to move around. Amenities were all there if you forgot something.

I had a fantastic stay at Candeo Hotels Tokyo Shimbashi! The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, which made check-in and every interaction smooth and pleasant. The room was spotless, modern, and well-designed, with a very comfortable bed and great city views.

The location is unbeatable—just a few minutes’ walk from Shimbashi Station, making it easy to explore Tokyo’s top spots like Ginza and Tokyo Tower. Despite being in a busy area, the hotel feels peaceful and quiet inside.

The rooftop spa is an amazing bonus. Relaxing in the open-air bath while overlooking the city lights was the perfect way to end each day.

Breakfast was fresh and delicious, offering a nice variety of Japanese and Western options. Everything felt well thought out and high quality.

Overall, this hotel combines comfort, convenience, and relaxation perfectly. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo!

Staying here was great. The room was a bit on the smaller side (as expected of hotels in Tokyo), but still felt comfortable, cozy, and clean. The rooftop onsen is a nice touch that both my partner and I took advantage of during our stay - was lovely to use after walking around all day.

The coin laundry we did not use however looked easy to use and clean.

The hotel is tucked on a side street, separating you from the businesses of the area. The area is mainly consisted of office workers but still at plenty of bars, restaurants and convenience stores. The hotel is conveniently located close to the subway station and is a short walk away.

Would definitely stay here again.

Outside of being a short walk to Shimbashi station, the amenities, breakfast, and rooms were all disappointing. If you’re looking for an affordable hotel that’s close to a hotel, this is it, but if you want a comfortable room, good showers, onsen, and breakfast, then this is NOT it.

I couldn’t give the hotel 5 star because their laundry facility is too small, only 2 machine but one of each is broken. It took 2.5hrs for one load. We had to come back 3 times at night in every 2hrs but we can’t use it. Except it, everything is good (breakfast, restaurant around hotel, clean, safety place)

This was our first visit to Japan. I expected hotel rooms to be small based on what I read. Ours was tiny. Two small beds were pushed toether in the center of the room, with a futon up against the window. It would have been difficult for four people (2 adults + 2 younger kids) to sleep here if that futon had not been available. Everything was very clean. Bathroom had a high tech toilet. We were in a corner, which meant we got two huge windows for a great city view. Elevators were small but fast. Desk and dining staff was friendly. Our breakfast was included in the rate. This was easily the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel anywhere. Mix of both Western and Asian dishes, pastries, casseroles, etc.

This was our first visit to Japan, so I had nothing to compare to, only stories about small accommodations. While the room was small, it was laid out in a way that maximized our space, and the double windows of our corner room made it feel bright and airy. It was very clean, and the window seat and desk were nice to have as an option to sitting on the bed. The women’s spa was a wonderful experience, and the breakfast buffet offered many choices and was well presented and quite delicious. Pajamas and slippers were also a nice touch, and I saw many of the hotel guests wearing them. The hotel was not too far away from the subway station, and we found it easy to navigate and felt safe doing so. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was our friends (had 6 of us total in 3 rooms w/king size beds) first time in japan. All of us loved the convenience of where hotel was & had no issues even when we did taxi or uber. We felt very safe & was quiet even though we were in shinsaibashi area. We found great restaurants & bars just in our own block & the next block over. In fact, we ended up going to a couple of them twice because we enjoyed the food, drinks, & atmosphere. It was close to the train station & Ginza. We highly recommend this hotel & chain

Great location, with walking distance to a few different train lines, including yamanote. Bed is alright, sinks in the middle for us. Bathroom can be a bit tight, with a weird smell. There were quite a few weird sounds in our room, e.g. Sound of running water through the pipes, so if u r a light sleeper, may not be great. The public bath on top is great though, esp if u go during off peak hrs. However, you will not be able to tell how busy it is from your room.

We had a pleasant stay at Candeo Hotel in Shimbashi. The highlight was definitely the open sky onsen, which provided a relaxing experience. However, we felt that the amenities could be improved—particularly the lack of a toilet inside the onsen area. Our room was on the smaller side, which made it a bit tight with our daughter, but it would be comfortable enough for a couple. The location was decent, with access to nearby attractions. Overall, a good stay, but a few small improvements could make it even better.

Such a lovely hotel. The price was very reasonable, the room was comfortable and rhe public bath was really wonderful. So relaxing after a long flight. The hotel was easily accessible from Haneda airport and I enjoyed the breakfast. Would absolutely stay here again.

Property and service are excellent. Travelled with family (14 and 11 yo kids) corner room was cramped for us no closets for our luggages. Luxurious amenities, spa, toiletries including linens and pillows.

The gentleman at the front desk is very unhelpful, everything is “not possible” but when the female receptionist comes then I was able to get accommodated. Next incident same thing no accommodation any other word is “not possible” until the restaurant guy step in to help then I was able to get things done.

My 12 yr got sick and he just wanted some fruits as he couldn’t make it to the breakfast area. Since I’ve already prepaid for breakfast, I walked in and grabbed a few pieces of fruits for my son and I got stopped half way and was told that I can’t bring any food out. Granted it’s the hotel policy but what’s a few pieces of fruits plus I’ve already prepaid for the entire breakfast? So I ended up going outside to get him breakfast but no restaurants has ‘to go’ option. I looked around for about 30-40 min then finally found 1 but you have to order thru a machine which has only Japanese. I can’t read Japanese. Finally got some help and ordered some miso soup for the sick boy but it was hell just to get take out food around the area. Had the hotel be more lenient on the breakfast policy, it won’t be such a hassle especially when you’re on vacation. I’d won’t recommend this place or area if you travel with kids.

Room was a twin with added bed for child however there wasn't a 3rd bed it was a window seat chaise lounge type thing which wasn't made up (maybe they thought we'd share one of the singles) The room was smell with only room to open 1 suitcase on the stand and 1 on the floor leaving no room to move around the room. Area very good for sights and transport to anywhere in the city and the airport.

The Buffett breakfast was excellent value , offering a good variety of authentic Japanese Breakfast foods.

2 blocks from Shimbashi train station,
A few blocks from Don Quixote which we didn’t know until the night before we left otherwise we took the train to the Mega store in Shibuya.
The housekeeping staff is amazing!!
We didn’t need our rooms cleaned for our 7 night stay but left the trash/ recycled bottles/ dirty towels outside our room. They replenished our towels and provided 2 bottle waters every single day without knowing. ❤️
The spa was very nice of you want to try the sento. Just wear the PJs and house slippers they provide in the room and bring with you bath and hand towels. I’ve never participated in one before but everyone minds their own business. Yes, you are naked but don’t have to feel self-conscious. We all are different shapes and sizes. Just remember to wash body once entering the sento area using the stalls. Then can use the hot spa and sauna room. You only need 15 minutes for the whole duration or else you end up like a prune! Then shower afterwards in the spa area using the complimentary shampoo/ wash, hair dryer, combs, etc…. It felt really relaxing to use the spa. Also they provide a locker to store belongings and you take key which is a wristband with you to the spa room.
Love the hotel quietness.
Rooms are a bit small for us which was 1 adult and two preteens. They said we had the second largest room!😳 it was fine since we only need to to sleep and shower.

Spa and breakfast were very good. Hotel was quiet to be in the bustling Shimbashi restaurant/nightlife area. Easy access to both Shimbashi and Toronomon. The property is close to Ginza is a positive mark for the hotel. What I did not like was when the server at the breakfast buffet got the croissants (a total of 6 croissants -2 pcs for each person in the party) we took to bring to our room. Each of us wrapped the two croissants with paper napkin and when we got to the elevator, a male wait staff told us we were not allowed to take out the croissants and took the them from us. We were thinking- they could have informed us that we were not allowed to take it to our room and allowed us to keep them. I do not know what they did with the bread they took but I hope they did not put them back in the buffet or threw them out ( of all the possibilities, I think the best would have been that they allowed us to keep and eat them instead of all 6 croissants going to waste). Also, the front desk staff should check how many pieces of luggage a guest has before calling a taxi because when the taxi arrived, our luggage did not fit in the cab. I guess the staff should be given more training on customer service.

This hotel is very near the Shimbashi Station Karasumori Exit so it is very convenient. But it is smack at the center of the business district so it gets packed & noisy in the evenings especially towards dinnertime with lots of drunk salarymen. There are tons of cheap dining options or you can just go to the Shimbashi station. The hotel is clean with good amenities. The public bath is well-maintained. We stayed for 2 nights, a family of 3 with a teenager. We got the 3-person room and it was okay for space even with our 2 luggages. However, never book this hotel directly. Their rooms are exorbitantly priced (over 500 CAD) if you do. Just book through Expedia for better rates.

Very comfortable hotel! We really liked everything about this place: service, room, amenities, and location! About a ten minute walk from the train station, it was easy to get around. Also, there was a lot of bars, convenience stores, restaurants, and activity just around the hotel. I especially enjoyed the onsen (spa) - with my jet lag, I appreciated that it was open all night, so I could relax after a long day of travel. I certainly would recommend this hotel when visiting Tokyo on a budget!
