Great room, nice hotel, good service, ok location. Of my trip in Japan, this was the 2nd best hotel I stayed at, but in the worst location of them all. It being in Tokyo is a saving grace since transportation in the city is crazy, but it's a few blocks away 2 different stations, multiple blocks away from a nice garden area to check out, and I wasn't thrilled with what I found for dining in the area around the hotel.

If you want a nice hotel and are willing to put up with a little bit of transportation/location pains compared to other options, it's a great spot.

Mitsui Garden Hotel Shiodome Italia-gai Tokyo had a decent location, about a 10 minute walk to the station and convenient for getting to Ginza and the Tsukiji Fish Market. The room was clean, modern, and small, but adequate for our needs.

The bed was uncomfortable and felt worn out, and the pillows weren’t great either. The washroom was quite humid, even though we didn’t use the shower or bath, and there didn’t seem to be any ventilation. Surprisingly, there was no visible mold, so maybe it had been removed.

Overall, it worked for a short stay, but the bed and humidity were drawbacks.

Very convenient location for the airport and metro stations for getting round.
Easy walking distance for choices of restaurants.
Very friendly and helpful staff, who helped with our IC card and luggage shipments.
Only slight negative is the room is a little dated.

The property is in next door to a construction site, and whilst I appreciate this is not something the hotel can control, there was no central air conditioning so we were advised by staff to open the windows which exposed the loud noise. The room was made up by staff while we were out and they took our towels but did not replace them so we were left without towels (which they didn’t correct). The room was also without amenities. We requested a late check out as we had a late flight and were told to reserve the room past 2pm we would have to pay for the next night even though we would not be staying the evening. They charged us Y6000 for a 2pm check out (whilst we were of course happy to pay a fee, this time was still inconvenient). Overall there was a 50% chance of staff being willing to assist when we had any questions about the hotel, while the others were extremely arrogant and rude. Would not stay here again.

Very good service. We asked staff to hold luggage’s before and after our stay due to the flight timing and check in timing. They were excellent and super helpful. Room was satisfactory. Public bath was very nice.

The bathroom smelled slightly odd, perhaps due to the room being located under the public bath floor.

Looks can be very deceiving. I booked this hotel as everything that I was looking for checked off my list.

Listed under their amenities is that they offer air conditioning, but what they don’t mention and should be noted before booking the hotel is the fact that once winter hits, they only turn on the heating. They have control over the entire hotel’s heating/ac so you can’t really do anything to change it. When I did call for help, they could only offer to me the option to crack a window open which would’ve not worked out as I tend to get allergies.

Having said that, my number one complaint is the fact that their bathroom smelled so much like mold. I only used it for the toilet bowl, and even their bidet looked pink and unclean. I also didn’t take a shower for I was afraid of what I could potentially catch there. I’m so relieved I only had to stay for one night, but never again. I would rather book a capsule if this place were my only option. Hell, I’d prefer to sleep outside.

The hotel was OK. The room we got smelled like urine and humidity - I want to even say it smelled like a wet rag. There was mold in the shower. I booked an extra room on our last night and that room did not smell like the room I was originally in. However, it did smell old. Likely due to the carpet.

Hotel seems to be about 10yrs old and they supposedly did a renovation 6yrs ago, but hotel seems and looks much older. Definitely is not 4stars and advertised. No restaurants in immediate area so outside of convenient stores, you will need to make a trek for food. Much better hotel options, including other Mitsui Garden Hotels, in the area for the same choice. Do not recommend unless only option available.

We stayed here for 3 nights while getting our bearings in Tokyo. We were an even walk from 3 train stations that connected to different lines, so it made everything accessible. The room was clean and quiet, and very comfortable. The staff were lovely and very helpful when we accidentally locked ourselves out of our room or requested extra pillows. Would definitely come back.

The hotel is in a quiet area that seems to be more of a business district than residential area. But it was so quiet and pleasant, it felt residential. The hotel itself was very clean and pleasant. Staff were great and very helpful. There's a Lawson's right next door which was very convenient. And many eateries just a short walking distance away. I traveled with my husband and 12 year old daughter. Our room was set up with a third bed which didn't leave that much room, but that's to be expected in Japan. We would stay here again.

This is a nice hotel with two super single beds and a comfortable sofa bed for our teen boy. Space is tight like typical Japanese hotel. We like that the hotel is nestled in a quiet estate. Pronto for breakfast, family mart if you need any snacks. Shimbashi for good food options just 10 mins away. Entrance to train station is a nice easy walk.

The lady at the front helping us was not so friendly. She seemed annoyed and was in a rush (I normally get great service in Japan however this was the worst experience I had). She seemed to be super attentive to the folks who happened to be white. The hotel in general looks nice outside and it was in a convenient location to the train station however the building is right next to the fire station so it does get noisy at night sometimes. Hotel was clean and decent overall. The air conditioning would stop working at times and it would get super hot when I woke up.

I had an excellent stay at this Mitsui location. Amazing location, quiet and safe neighborhood but easily walkable distance to Ginza, and many other popular areas of Tokyo are within 15 min metro ride. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet - good mix of Japanese and Western food.

We loved staying here, it was so great for the cost! We had a fairly large room for Japanese standards and it was super conveniently located nearby major subway lines. Tsukiji outer market was walkable in the morning and the buffet food at the hotel was great as well. Ginza shopping distract and many food options all super walkable. Staff were friendly too and ensured we were comfortable in our stay. 10/10!
