Shiba Park Hotel was excellent, the book ambiance adds a special touch. The staff is very helpful and really the best. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is buffet style and has something for everyone with fresh and excellent food.

The room was adequate - a bit small for two people with large suitcases for a 5 night stay. The bed was comfortable and laundry service was easily available. The location was excellent for our itinerary and close to public transit options.

The room was okay, but not the best we’ve stayed in while traveling in Japan. We chose a larger room for extra space, but the sofa ended up taking up most of the area near the bed, making it difficult to fully open our suitcases.

There were only two washing machines available on one floor, and unfortunately, we were never able to use them as they were constantly occupied at all times of the day and night. Considering the size of the hotel, this felt insufficient. Each floor also had reading rooms, which didn’t seem necessary since there is already a larger shared area near the staircase where guests can borrow and read books. It would make more sense to replace some of these spaces with additional laundry facilities.

The room was fairly clean overall, although we did find someone’s plaster stuck to the floor, which was not very pleasant.

The amenities were decent, but the room itself feels a bit outdated and could benefit from some refurbishment.

On a positive note, the location is very good. It’s surrounded by plenty of places to eat, and despite that, the area is quiet.

The staff there are all really nice and helpful. The daily snack and drinks offering was good. The room was a lot smaller than imagined and the bathroom wasn’t the cleanest. I also saw a dead roach by the lobby bathroom area. For the price I paid, I wouldn’t stay here again. It cost the same as the newer apartment style hotels.

Shiba Park hotel is situated in an excellent central location that made it easy to access transportation as well as restaurants. Convenience stores are just a short walk away.
We particularly enjoyed the Zojoji temple tour that was organized by the hotel, and splurged on their high tea experience (try the jasmine tea). The hotel also features a robust library with many interesting books to enjoy! For book people like us, this was amazing!
The room was spacious and well designed, though we were a little surprised to find some of our newly changed sheets were not fully clean, and we found someone else's inhaler on the floor (must have belonged to a previous guest...we left it there because we did not want to touch someone else's medical device).
The staff are friendly and kind, and the breakfast options are varied and delicious.

We stayed at Shiba Park Hotel the last week of March. We loved how our room suited our family of 4. We stayed in the room with two full bunk beds and one full sized bed. It was well suited for 2 adults, a 7 year old and a 3 year old. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I felt bad as we arrived almost close to midnight, but the staff member who helped us was very professional and took care of us right away. The breakfast was decent with a good variety of foods that ranged from Chinese porridge, to Japanese breakfast offerings, to yogurt, cereal and pastries. There was something that all of us would eat.Their amenities were cute and everything was bamboo themed. The hotel itself was a few minutes walk from Diaman station and a few blocks walk from Tokyo Tower. The only thing that we thought could use improvement for us was that the laundry room only had two machines and the washer/dryer combo didn't dry our clothes very well. It would have been nice to have a warning or an idea of how many clothes it should take.

This was the final hotel we stayed at in a month long trip and unfortunately it wasn't a great experience. We stayed 2 nights, and didn't take breakfast.

The location is great. Perfect for access to Haneda airport, close to Tokyo Tower, metro stations nearby, and some great bars and restaurants around the hotel.

The hotel has a pretty unique feel, the library and the books are a nice touch. The hotel organises a tea making demonstration which was nice, and they had organised walking trips to see the cherry blossom.

But. We found the check-in process to be quite convoluted. The reception area is small and quite intimate, but there were so many people and cases lying around it just felt disorderly. And it all seemed very impersonal and lacking warmth.

The room we were offered was genuinely awful. Right next to the elevator and the launderette (it shared a common wall). Not only could you hear the machines, but you could clearly hear 2 people having a conversation through the wall. And, when we opened the curtain, a view of a high-rise building right outside the window. Of course this is central Tokyo, but this was too intrusive.

Credit to the manager, he changed the room for us. But it left a bad taste.

On balance though, not great. Looking at all the other positive reviews, possibly we were just unlucky. We would ask for an even numbered room if we ever returned.

Very comfortable room in a quieter but well-connected area of Tokyo. Easy to reach from Haneda airport via monorail then 5 min taxi ride (~$3 fare). Walked to the Tokyo Tower at night to work off some jet lag and we felt very safe in the area. Steps away from all 3 konbini stores! 5 min walk to the Onarimon Station for quick access to the subway system. Great western and eastern style breakfast. Many Westerners seem to stay here so staff English is excellent.

Fantastic and quiet location, a short walk to several subway station lines, and close to the Tokyo Tower. Easy to get to from Haneda airport to because you hop on the monorail at the airport and there is a direct express train to the JR station close to the hotel (about 8 min walk). Property was very clean, staff was helpful, and the rooms had everything we needed including comfortable beds and toiletries. A bonus was that there are both a Family Mart and 7-11 within the same block!

This is a terrific hotel by any measure, but we were particularly delighted as newcomers and first time visitors to Japan. Although conveniently located, the hotel is on a very quiet street. The staff are very friendly and warm and delightfully attentive. The breakfast is generous and offers a wide selection. There are lots of common rooms located throughout the hotel, for those who are recovering from jet lag and awake at odd hours. We loved it here and we will be sure to come back again.

The room was small but clean and well organized. We actually really enjoyed the reading lounges so we could rest our legs and relax in between morning and evening activities. The book selection was great. I didn't expect to enjoy it this much.

Everything was great apart from the laundry facilities. The dry cycle does not work so you are left with lots of damp clothes and it takes about 3 hrs a load.

Must add that staff is excellent! Akimoto especially was so helpful with our luggage transfer issues and went to the extent to offer storage at the hotel to help us.

stayed in a Deluxe King and it was a spacious room by Japan/ Tokyo standards. The bathroom was decent size, bed was comfortable and overall very clean and efficient. I didn't use their breakfasts service since I wanted to experience other a available options in the city.

The neighborhood is quiet , nice and clean ( Minato is considered an upscale neighborhood). But has metro stations within minutes walking distance.

What a great hotel. The staff are lovely and so helpful. It has a quality feel to it, slightly quirky with the library theme ( a huge Christmas tree made of books for eg), Our only niggle was that the pillows were too hard for us - and it only occurred to us on the third morning (check-out day) that if we had asked they would almost certainly have changed them for us. Other than that the bed was very comfortable (and huge). Thanks all at Shiba Park.

The room was a good size for a single with a king size bed. The breakfast had options of food, both Japanese and Western. Each floor has its own water dispenser. Loved the library theme of the hotel. Staff was very helpful from check-in to check-out. Location was convenient to the Tokyo Tower 🗼. There was a laundry room on 4th floor (didn’t use it since I was at the beginning of my trip). Only down side was distance to train station was at least 10 min walk away, which is far after a day of walking.

Breakfast was delightfully presented, quantities on display were smaller than usual , emphasising pleasure in eating and health rather than excess consumption (but food was still plentiful ) . Enjoyed breakfast sparkling wine !

We booked a Deluxe King room and emailed in advance to ask whether early check-in before 3pm would be possible, as we were arriving on Sat morning from London. We were told this was not possible and instead advised to book an additional night for the day before arrival so we could go straight to our room. We therefore booked a Standard King for the extra night.

We arrived at 9:30am and were told breakfast was closing, so we were unable to eat after a 14-hour flight with an infant. We were then informed we would need to check out of the Standard King room by 11am (after barely an hour in the room) in order to move to the Deluxe King for the remainder of our stay. With little choice, we showered and left, assuming we would return for the 3pm check-in. As we were leaving, we were told our Deluxe King room was already ready, meaning we had unnecessarily paid around £200 for the extra night. As our first impression of Japan, this was disappointing.

The rest of the stay was pleasant. The Deluxe King room was lovely, clean, well stocked, and we appreciated the facial cleansing reusables. The location and neighbourhood were excellent.

After returning to the UK, we noticed an additional charge of JPY 8,490 (£42.44). If this was a city tax, it was not clearly communicated. We were told at checkout that everything was settled, and we did not use the minibar or cause any damage.

With a more human and flexible approach, and clearer communication, we would have rated our stay higher.

Spotless rooms and very friendly staff, this hotel is on the older side but very well maintained. It shows a lot of class with the decor and the way guests are treated.
The family room with 2 twin beds and extra single bed is great for our party of 3 adults 1 kid. The laundry service on the 4th floor is also very convenient, can get a little crowded at times.
We see a lot of western travelers staying here, including other families with young kids.
Breakfast can be improved, the selection is pretty good but none of the food items are very memorable or impressive, as compared to some other Japanese hotel’s breakfast service.

Very helpful staff. Rooms were clean and tidy. Laundry facilities were helpful. Coffee and snacks in the lobby was nice. Area was quiet but 5-10 min walk to a few train stations that took us anywhere.
