First night in Japan was spent here and for the price, it was good! Mattress and pillow left a bit to be desired but the amenities, amazing staff and view of Tokyo Tower at night (in my room at least) made it worth it for me.

Stayed for 7 nights. Location is fantastic being right by Tokyo Tower and I was able to see the landmark from my room. Room was cleaned every day. Staff were exceptional. Unfortunately no laundry service but there are a few laundromats with varying opening hours very close by. Very good value for money, will be returning should I visit Minato city again!

The best thing about this hotel is the staff, super helpful and really go out of their way to assist you. You can tell the staff and management look after their Hotel, so whilst it’s a little dated, rooms are clean and nice. I walked the Tokyo Tower in 15 minutes. Plenty of public transport options,nearest MTR is 3 minutes walk. Of course easy grab a taxi or uber too.

Had a great stay at the Tokyo Grand Hotel.
The twin room was spacious for a Tokyo hotel and immaculately clean and tidy.
Ice machines available on the floor.
Wifi was fast.
The beds were on the firm side, much to my delight but my partners displeasure, though this is a matter of preference.
Tokyo Tower is a short 10 minute walk from the hotel, a great first night activity after checking in to see the city light up as evening falls. There are a few restaurants there.
The hotel is a short walk from several train stations which can get you pretty much anywhere in the city.

About a 10 min walk to HAMAMATSUCHO station and about a 10 min walk to Tokyo Tower. Plenty of options to eat, a family mart about 1 min walk away. Absolutely great location.

The hotel is a little dated, you can tell it was built in the 90’s but that also means the rooms are bigger than the more modern hotels you see in Japan. I managed to get a 2 twin bed room for 1 person and it was amazing to see how big it was.

Overall experience, it was great! The staff are friendly and they can speak English! They made the check in and check out process really simple. I will return to this hotel for my trip to Tokyo!

When we book this room they have a same price for non smoking and smoking rooms . When we reach there they charged us double price because we told them my husband has a asthma . They knew it this people not going because of health conditions so they charged us double money by saying they are giving us discounts . Is supposed to be 10960 yen they charged us 22000 . No moral values . Who has a time to argue with them after 20 hours in flight . So even we book it 6 months in advance they still charged us more than double price . I will not recommend anyone to stay there because for them how to make more money . Front desk hotel staff does not speak English very well but they only know extra money

Granted, this is a classic hotel that has retained it's look back to its last renovation in 1991. That said, it does show its age with smudges on the walls, and cracked bathroom countertops. I will say that the phone in the bathroom is a total classic throwback. Now it's 2023 and I'd say they are due for another refit don't you agree?

This hotel is very affordable, spacious, free breakfast (western and Japanese) and most of all, it is located very close to public transportation. I love how convenient it is to hop on a bus right in front of the hotel to Shibuya! I highly recommend this hotel to all who is visiting Tokyo.

A highly recommended hotel. Highly attentive and friendly staff. As tourists don't normally bring their own umbrella, we appreciate very much the hotel for allowing us to borrow umbrellas especially when two of our staying days were raining heavily. The hotel is merely 10 mins walk from the closest JR station, which is greatly convenient.

Reasonable price with pretty good conditions

We stayed there last Friday,Saturday and Sunday. The price is reasonable. Total price is just over 400 dollars. The location is good. We can not complain anything for this price. This is the cheapest price with good location and pretty good condition hotel we stayed in Japan this time.

This is my third time staying Tokyo Grand Hotel, and I absolutely love it. The helpfulness of the staff and the affordable price for the area are truly astonishing. This hotel is a 5* experience, all thanks to the staff that work here, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the location.

Firstly; the staff. Our room is always spotless thanks to the cleaners, all the staff are most kind and can speak good English. We had to contact our airline due to delays and the hotel gave us the correct country code and explained how to use the phones for outward dialling. They accepted deliveries to the hotel for us. They are well dressed and help us take our shopping to our room when we buy a lot! The cleaners are respectful and willing to clean your room later in the day if it suits you better.

Second; it's conveniently located in between 4 different subway stations that we used daily, being no more than a ten minute walk from the hotel to each of them. You can reach all the most popular destinations in Tokyo using these stations. There is a Lawson and Family Mart on the same street as the hotel.

Finally, I have seen other reviews for this hotel stating they were not happy with the size of the rooms, but unless you are over 7ft tall, there is no problem at all. Both the beds and bathrooms are spacious. My partner and I had four suitcases worth of belongings and the room still doesn't feel cramped.

This place is part of of our incredible Japan experience.

This hotel is just around the corner from Suidobashi station and is within ten minutes from Daimon and Mita stations too. Although check in is at 3pm, I was able to leave luggage at reception in the morning, and it was taken to my room for me.The staff understand English and accommodated me with my request for extra pillows (unlike another hotel I stayed in) and therefore although the bed was a bit soft, because I was comfy, I slept beautifully. There were drawers and a wardrobe in the room (unlike the other two hotels I stayed in in Tokyo). The bath is not big enough to soak in but that seems to be the way in Japan.
There is Japanese tea in the room but no teaspoon and no coffee. Ice is in a freezer near the lifts.

It is a nice hotel but a bit farther from JR station and monorail station than I liked. Close to subway though. Quiet area but a bit north and many many restaurants, little shopping. We left our luggage there before check-in and loved how luggage was already brought to our room for us, I love that!!

Really nice hotel, we read some reviews that were negative but I don’t have a bad word to say about the hotel.
The staff and check in was great and the room was very big for japan! The views from the rooms were lovely and he restaurant gave us a welcome drink on arrival.
The beds were comfortable asides the strange pillows (which you get in all Japanese hotels)
The rooms and hotel were clean and I would recommend this hotel!
It’s a 10 minute walk to the train: metro station and within 5 mins you can get to areas with more bars and restaurants, I recommend Ginza.

I have stayed at the Tokyo Grand Hotel multiple times over the last ten years and each time the service has been incredible. The staff do speak English but it's always better to talk in Japanese. Service is very professional and friendly. The view of the Tokyo tower from some of the rooms is amazing, especially at night. The area is quiet at night time, their is a Family Mart about 100 meters away and also an American dinner opposite. There are many stations close by: Daimon and Hamamatsuchō Station (which will get you around the city. Daimon goes to the party districts, Hamamatsuchō is part of the Yamanote Line.) - There are some fantastic cafes and restaurants around those stations and in the trade center there is even more. You may want to bring an extension cable for additional sockets. WiFi is free. Earliest check in time is 14:00.

Location is great. Close to convenience stores and some cafes. Had a great view of Tokyo tower from my room. But, major disturbances with the amount of smoking at the hotel. My room smelled of cigarettes half the time. I had to request a different room. In my new room, I would still wake up to the smell of cigarettes. I specifically requested non-smoking room yet I had to continuously spray room freshener because of the smell. Also, if the hotel advertises itself as a hotel for international visitors, the staff’s English skills must improve. I can speak some Japanese but I tested their English ability and it was not very good; not even on a basic level. The cigarettes really made my nights uncomfortable and will avoid staying here again.

Brief two night stay. Hotel very quiet but was new year. Staff welcoming and helpful. The overall impression is that this hotel is well overdue a refurb. It looks like it was last done in about 1990 and looks tired and dated. Comfortable enough but not was you expect from a hotel in a modern city like Tokyo. Choice of evening fare was poor and towels had a musty smell.

Formerly \"Grand\" and still very nice

The Grand Hotel was probably once very grand, and from the outside it looks grand indeed. Once inside, though, it's apparent that this is the \"Formerly Grand\" Hotel, in need of a change of carpets, new tablecloths in the dining room, and general all-around renovation. The room, however, was larger than the usual Japanese hotel room, the bed very comfortable, everything spotlessly clean, and the bathtub big enough. Best of all, the decor is bright and cheery and the Tokyo Tower is right there, lighting up the neighborhood in full view. It's also just a short walk from the Shibakoen Station, which is a lovely and safe area. If you're sightseeing around the Tokyo Tower or even just need a place to stay for the night in Tokyo, the Grand is reasonably priced and worth looking into.

Slightly worn luxury hotel

The \"Grand Hotel\" must have been truly grand in its day, and even now it's very very nice. You can tell when you step inside the lobby that it's a bit worn, but the remnants are its former luxurious self are still there. My room was larger than average, the bed was was comfortable, and the view of Tokyo Tower was spectacular! The Shiba Koen area is a great place for tourists to stay, and I recommend this hotel in a minute over some of the noisy bustling places in Shinjuku. Breakfast is expensive at ¥1,600 in the dining room, but there's a family restaurant right across the road for travelers on a budget.

Nice hotel in quiet area near Tokyo Tower

The hotel is a little old-fashioned but can still be considered grand. The room is relatively spacious, and my room had a view of Tokyo Tower, which is really great. The area is fairly quiet with not much shopping or dining, but there are a few convenience stores in the neighborhood, and the seaside is actually just a 15 mn walk away. Two metro stations are 5 to 10 mn away, Tokyo Tower is about 20mn by foot.

We stayed for 4 nights. Nice and quiet area to stay in and central to most tourist destinations. It's interior is a little dated but I have found this with most places in Japan. It's about a 2 minute walk to Shibakōen Station and the subway is so easy and efficient to manage.
The only issue was the smell of cigarette smoke that was coming through the venting and we were on a non smoking floor.
Also if you eat in their restaurant the smokers area is right next to the food which doesn't really make sense.
