The hotel was great, the bed was nice and the bathroom provided enough privacy - something we've been struggling with in our previous stays. The amenities provided were also very good - skin care products, coffee, tea and more. It's also very well located, with metro and rail station, we coul go easily to various Tokyo locations.

BUT, we had an incident with the cleaning, in one of our rooms our own products such as tooth brush and shampoo went missing, probably discarded, but the hotel claimed they didn't put anything away. We were having a great time but this incident was very upsetting. They didn't take responsibility for it neither offered compensation.

The rooms are much smaller than the pictures show on expedia. Had to change rooms a few days before leaving as aircon wasnt working and from then on with 2 people in the room the cleaners kept giving us only one towel. When asking reception they wanted to charge us 6000 yen to ring for a taxi and told us there were no ubers there and we saw a lot. Only two washing machines. Only two dryers which would take us 90 minutes to dry and home took 2.5 hours and therefore clogging it up for others wanting to use them. Bathroom very small which was not evident on pictures posted on expedia. It would be fine for one person but a lot harder for two we couldnt even keep our suitcases out and we were there for two weeks. If we went to Tokyo again we would absolutely be looking for something bigger.

Overall, it is a hotel which is value for money. Surrounding amenities and food options are plenty. Typical small japanese hotel but with nice amenities free for grabs at lobby. however, toilet bowl is extremely small making it uncomfortable to use. the toilet has strong sewage smell too

The only thing I didn’t like was the construction but that’s just life so I’m not gonna complain about it. All in all a 5 star stay.

Great value for money at a great location near the JR lines, and so the monorail to Haneda airport. Very friendly and helpful staff, mint condition in terms of overall cleanliness, and although a basic breakfast, was good enough compared to many other Japanese large hotel brands. And the enormous amount of complimentary toiletries! Of course likewise most hotels in Japan, do not expect a large room, in the other hand, very well designed and compact just to fit it all.

Sotetsu Tokyo Tamachi was by far the best hotel I stayed at while in Japan. I felt extremely safe not only at the hotel but the area itself, not to mention everything was in walking distance which made everything so much easier! Staff does everything they can to maintain a super clean environment by cleaning every few days regardless of door signage which is amazing. The breakfast was a plus too, although it might not be for everyone, we loved it! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay around Tokyo but not the general area to avoid traffic, all major cities are a good distance from the hotel-station!

This place was great a little small but no cramped. It had several restaurants stretched out around the blocks so you’re gonna have to walk to check them all out. A nearby laundry place a block away and the station is not to far nor are the buses.

The number one selling point of this hotel is its easy walk to the train station. The location was perfect. The rooms are small as expected yet clean. Nice amenities lying around. Staying at the Amex is a separate building that is secure and nice. No problems there. We did have adjoining rooms which was a pleasant surprise. We did not try the breakfast there. It looked minimal and we had kids who favored American eggs and bacon over noodles for breakfast.

Loved! very short walk to Tamachi station for the Yamanote Line to go to all the hot spots of the city.
self check in/out but staff are around to help with check in. very small room but perfect for a solo traveller so i didn’t mind it, only when i wanted to open my luggage but you can use the hallway! very happy with this if you want the quietness and convenience.

This is what’s referred to as a business hotel with your typical small room and equally small bathroom with a deep tub and shower. It’s location is easily accessed from either Mita underground station of Tamachi JR line, both a few minutes from each other and about 5 minutes or so from the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful with varying degrees in command of English. Various amenities are freely available at reception as is the free coffee and tea or crushed ice. On the 8th floor is a small room with washing machines and dryers. Also a drinks vending machine and a microwave and another ice machine which gives you large chunks of the stuff. 300 yen for the washer and 100 for 30 minutes for the dryer. Detergent is automatically dispensed with the washing machine.
Chinese style buffet breakfast is available at 800 yen (cash) per person. Nice it was too.
With the room, if you choose the eco option as to how your room is made up (fix the sheets not change but fresh towels) then they’ll leave you a bottle of water. Oh and the do not disturb, eco card and make my room up cards are all magnetic and stuck to the outside of your door.
All in all, a pleasant place to stay. Recommended.

The hotel is typical of a Japanese \"business\" hotel. Rooms are quite small, but the access to rail transport is not bad. A path along the canal offers a good jogging course. Convenience stores, drug stores, and a hundred yen shop are steps away.

地段雖然不是旺區，但十分清靜，對面便有藥店，附近亦有多間便利店，步行十分鐘內有超市，
食店亦有居酒屋，拉麵店，燒肉，立食壽司。
田町亦位於山手線，去哪邊都十分方便，遠一點點便是三田站都營線，所以是有2條路線可選，
附近亦有巴士到台場。
缺點便是房間較細，(不過明白日本的酒店都是一樣)

Pros ... We chose this hotel mainly for its location and it's pretty convenient. It's within walking distance to JR Tamachi station and lots of restaurants and convenient stores around. The area is fairly quiet at night. Front desk staff communicates well in English. Coin laundry service available. 2 elevators available. Room is clean and equips with a small fridge.

Cons ... Standard double room is small (but common in Japan standard I guess). We stayed during mid March (~ 15C outside). Air-Con blew out hot/warm air. We attempted to open up windows for cool air. However, we smelt smoke from our neighbouring units. We were then forced to close windows. Large luggages will not be able to open fully (we were ok as we're backpackers).

Decent hotel, close proximity to a station

The hotel was reasonably good, clean, and in a decent location. It was also cheaper than staying in someone of the more famous areas (shinjuku, ginza, shibuya etc).

I felt the staff were miserable though. We checked in without even a smile or a hello. We asked to leave our bags (which they had a token system for) but we still felt like we were being rude requesting this. Check out was 10am (earlier than most hotels) so we again left our bags for a couple of hours, which again was greated with total silence. The staff didn't even look us in the eye, smile, or say a word when returning our bags. Even though this was only a minor part of the hotel experience, it was very awkward.

Stayed for 6 nights with my other half. The room is tiny, which was expected. The bed was a semi double meaning it is smaller than a double. Good for two people on the slimmer side but not much room to move around. There is no dresser or closet. When it is cold in Japan, they do not turn on the AC. If you turn on the AC it will blow hot air. We checked with the front desk and they confirmed this. The shower is very tiny and so is the bathroom. Will fit 2 suitcases and 2 carryons in the room but there will be no walking room.

For us, this was ok. It was about $450 including tax for 6 nights. It is 0.25 miles from the train station. There is a really good yakiniku place 2 doors down. On the same block is a good yakitori place. There is Lawsons and 7-11 on each block. I would stay here again.

Convenient location

This hotel is located very close to the Tamachi station on the loop line and to Mita station on the Toei Mita line.

We found the staff all very helpful and friendly, despite the language barrier. The self-service area with teas and bath salts was great, and we used it regularly. The window in the room opened, which was nice, and the block out screens really worked well!

It's close to a quite few restaurants. We loved the Rocky Kanai izakaya near the bridge on near the station, and there was a great ramen place nearby too. Rocky Kanai doesn't have an English menu, and the menu doesn't have much much in the way of pictures, but we were lucky enough to get wait staff that spoken some English and were able to tell us what some of the dishes were and make recommendations. There's also a Lawson and Sunkus close, and a grocery store not far from the station.

We weren't a big fan of the breakfast, limited choices and the same every day. It doesn't look like there is any washing powder available in the laundry, which I think would be a great service for them to offer. I think all hotels in Japan must get their mattreses and pillows in the same place, very uncomfortable.

Great access from train/subway station

The room was small, but that is expected in Tokyo. We had a hard time figuring out how to control the lights and air/heat because they were built into the bed frame.

Having the instruction manual for that will help. We had a great price from hotels.com, and this is not Ritz (or Ritz price). We have nothing to complain.

Nice, cheap hotel in the middle of the buzz

Although it's at a very central location, Sotetsu Fresa Tamachi Inn is a nice and quiet place to stay at. The Tamachi JR-station is in walking distance, you can find a nice coffee shop around, convenience stores, everything. The bay area is close enough to walk there and look around.

The room itself was really tiny, that 1.5 bed in America would count as a single bed. Small space in front of bathroom, small bathroom, small everything. Don't even consider if you are a couple. Roomkeeping was good, my overall experience is good with this budget hotel room.

Convenience location with little downside

As I was travelling in early autumn, the weather is not that cold yet. But the hotel centralised air conditioning is set to heater. the staff told us to open the window but it creates a lot of noise at night due to strong wind. Perhaps the place is good at other season.

Worst stay of our trip

Female receptionist was friendly but the male receptionist (probably a manager) was extremely unfriendly. We were given smoking room and asked the lady if we can change it, the guy next to her shouted in Japanese \"nai! nai! nai!\", as if we were not there, unbelivable. The smoking room was a hellish stay, especially when I have a kid. The cigarette stench was everywhere. I am sure non-smoking room would be better but that's not our case. All in all a very unpleasant stay.

Positives: Close to Tamachi station, room was quiet, decent food options nearby, convenience stores nearby (Lawson, Lawson Natural, 7-11), and 100 yen shop (similar to a dollar store). FYI, many more food options via Tamachi west exit and across the street. Cons: Room very small but as expected; we stayed as a family two adults and two kids (1yr and 3yr); 1yr and wife slept on floor with extra blankets provided by the hotel. However the bed is a little larger than a standard single. Also room was dusty in the corners, but everything worked (fridge, TV, bathroom, etc).

Wonderful location, great room.

This hotel is in Minato city - a working neighborhood of Tokyo. Within 10 min walk there is the rail station with Yamanote line covering a good portion of the city, and the subway station which covers Asakusa. There is a 711 store at the corner with ATM and breakfast food.
