The hotel is great. Very comfortable beds and pillows coming from US travelers who missed a softer mattress. The front desk was so helpful and spoke perfect English. Free drinks in the lobby and water stations on every floor is a nice touch. This hotel was one of our favorite parts of visiting Osaka!

The room and bathroom are so clean and fresh. I appreciated the amenities, especially the wash towels. The bed was very soft and comfortable. Everything was spotless. The staff is incredibly courteous and helpful. The breakfast and lounge area is very nice. I appreciated that the hotel allowed us to store luggage between checkout and going to airport. It is very conveniently located near subway and two train stations. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a clean modern hotel with typical Tokyo sized rooms. The room is cleverly designed and offer more storage space than expected.

The location is in a commercial district but the new Takanawa Gateway mall is fantastic.

Service was excellent and every member of the team have been helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We definitely will stay here again.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The housekeeper cleans our room daily and replaces the towels. Their breakfast is okay. I wish they would update the menu every day. Still, I really like their fresh fruit. I would love to see an egg omelet and maybe some smoked salmon.

This was our second visit to Miyako City Takanawa Gateway and we loved it! The Takanawa Gateway station has changed so much since our last visit but the area still remains very quiet. The train station is easy to access and is very quiet compared to other stations nearby. And Shinagawa is a 10 minute walk so if you need to take the Shinkansen, it’s much easier to get to compared to going to Tokyo station which is so much busier. Make sure to take advantage of luggage transport services and if you plan on taking the Shinkansen, book early so you can get a good departure time, especially if you want a view of Mt Fuji.

The staff was friendly and efficient when checking in. The rooms were very clean and had all the amenities you needed. The shower room was nice in that the bathtub and shower were separate so you could take a shower and then soak up in the bath after. We appreciated the staff to accept our luggage beforehand and after checking out. The free soft drinks/coffee/tea and crackers/donuts between 5pm to 9pm was a nice treat!
The only downside is that it is not a 6 minute walking distance to Shinagawa station. It actually took more than 10 minutes to get from Shinagawa to the hotel. It also took 10 minutes to get to the closest subway station to get to other parts of Tokyo. So please keep this in mind when booking this hotel. Overall, we had a pleasant and relaxing stay.

Right opposite Takanawa Gateway which is a new and fancy train station and shopping centre. Everything in great condition, room spacious - especially for Tokyo.

The area is heavily under construction though, and it's not really in the centre of the busy city if that's what you're after (we've been to Tokyo so many times it wasn't a bother for us).

Excellent room and service, staff were fantastic and very helpful.

Washer and dryer combo is limited and always in use, alternate laundromats is abut 1km away.

Amenities are top however location has limited things to do in the immediate area, not a problem if you’re happy to catch the train here n there.

The breakfast seemed fresh, but the plain fried potatoes without onions and other stuff was only available the first day. I would have liked more choices for someone like me who doesn't eat wheat or pork. It's also a lounge, so many of the seats were paired with low tables, not comfortable for eating. The lounge itself was also hard to take advantage of, as they are only open in the early evening. They were closed when I came back from the wedding I was oficiating at almost midnight, Also, I could not get in and have a coffee during the afternoon that day--well after their lunch service because they just don't open very early. I hadn't remembered so I ended up paying the hotel for a 600 yen cappucino from their machine that would have been about the same for twice as much freshy brewed from one of the coffee shops I had passed on my way back. Other than my frustration with not being able to take advantage of the coffee when it was free, I thought the hotel service was excellent. Also, they printed out my script for the wedding free of charge, which was a wonderful perk.

The hotel is super handy to Takanawa Gateway station, very walkable with luggage and Shinagawa station is also handy though a bit further of a walk. The hotel has a happy hour in the evening from 5pm with free drinks and snacks in the bar area, this was a nice way to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing! Lastly we found it very quiet in our room, didn’t hear anything from other rooms at night etc.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. With the new Takanawa Gateway station open and directly across the street you have a gorgeous new station that's not too busy only a couple of minute walk away. Shinagawa is about a 12 min walk but insanely busy, still convenient if you need the Shinkansen. Lawson convenience store just a couple minute walk as well. Hotel buffet is fresh and good, but mostly the same food every day and quite a bit higher priced than many other hotels. Staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is well kept.
The room itself was VERY small for the money, it would be okay if you only had small luggage. But there was barely enough room to scoot through beside the bed and only on one side. You cannot access both sides of the bed. The bathroom was roomy with super fancy hairdryer and generous toiletries. I would stay here again simply for the location, but probably skip doing the buffet everyday and just get it once or twice.

Well presented hotel. I stayed on 3 different occasions for total of 8nights over an 11 day period. The hotel kindly held my bags whilst I explored the surrounds. It was a little frustrating that on each new check in, I had to re-fill in my full details, even after I joined as a member on my initial check in. Not the best repeat business processes.

The room was quite small but the queen size bed and pillows were excellent. We then stayed in a much bigger 4 star hotel for a lot more money and the beds were rock hard including the pillows. The air con in the room was quiet and did the job well considering it was over 30 degrees celcius outside. The only downside is that you need to walk over 10 minutes to Shinagawa to get a good selection of food options. The hotel is in a business type suburb with offices and a car delearship around it .

Miyako City Tokyo Takanawa was a good stay for us, the only thing is the hotel feels a little dated for what your choices can be. The hotel doesn't really feel suited for leisure travel and more of a business hotel than anything else.

Takanawa is basically Shinagawa and surprisingly there's a lot less to do around the neighborhood than you think. However, the positive side is it is walking distance to Shinagawa Station which basically gives access to Metro and Shinkansen.

We stayed for 2 days in a double bed room. The room is cozy with 2 luggages, and the bathroom is clean and spacious. The location is commutable to go to main cities, Shibuya, Shinjuku, or Odaiba. The staff are friendly and professional, so overall we highly recommend to those who visits in the main cities of Tokyo.

Lovely hotel which felt pretty new. It has a lot of useful transport links, especially the Tanakwa Gateway station which is new and quiet.

There is a Lawson nearby too and also food options around if needed.

Breakfast was ok, not sure it’s fully worth the money but it’s convenient.

Room was a good size and the bed was huge and comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay here and the views over to the rainbow bridge were a nice perk.
