The hotel and staff were friendly and accommodating. They provided a lot of the basic toiletries free of charge. Kind in mind, this is Japan and rooms are smaller in traditional Japanese hotels. I would recommend dining outside the hotel. We did not use the amenities but based on the rest of the hotel, I would assume they are great

The Shinagawa Prince Hotel was an outstanding choice for our time in Tokyo. Perfectly located right across the street from Shinagawa Station, the hotel offers incredibly easy access to anywhere you want to go, both in and out of the city. For travelers looking to explore Tokyo and beyond, you simply can't beat this location.

The rooms are well appointed and provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. But what truly made our experience memorable was the staff. The customer service here is exceptional and everyone we interacted with went above and beyond to assist us with anything we needed. They even adjusted the dates of our visit without any trouble or additional charges at all, which took a great deal of stress off our plans.

Although our Japanese was very limited, the staff spoke English well and made us feel right at home throughout our stay. That kind of warmth and professionalism is rare and deeply appreciated.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great experience in Tokyo.

It was very close to Shinagawa Train Station which was convenient especially having little kids.
Staff were accommodating especially the room attendants.
There is 7eleven and pharmacy on the ground floor of the hotel.
The breakfast buffet was amazing too.
There is also a “food court” on the ground floor with great food. Must try curry with omelette.

We had a wonderful stay at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. The check-in and check-out processes were smooth and efficient, making our experience stress-free from start to finish.

The location is outstanding, just a short walk from Shinagawa Station, with easy access to the train, bullet train (Shinkansen), and subway, making it very convenient for exploring Tokyo and beyond.

Breakfast was included and offered an impressive variety of options, from traditional Japanese dishes to American favorites, ensuring there was something for everyone.

One of the highlights of our stay was our room’s stunning view of Mount Fuji, which made the experience even more memorable.

We truly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back on our next visit to Tokyo.

It was confusing where to check in.There are Main Shinagawa Prince Hotel, then, East Prince Hotel and another. My reservation did not indicate which buliding to go. （However, we were able to find staff members to ask questions.）

Our room was clean but the hallway carpet was very dirty.

\"The sign for room cleaning or not\" did not have an option of \"No need to clean the room but need replacement of towels/coffee/water\". Or they could have left a bag of items at the room door for the sign\" No room cleaning needed.\"

We stayed at this hotel about 10 years ago and have good memory of services for this hotel.

Very old and outdated huge hotel with broken computer systems (because the hotel is huge with thousands of people living here and large tour groups, it heavily dependent on self help systems every step of the way, yet these digital systems aren't the easiest to use even for young people, let along older foreigners. For example, the self check-in monitor has an alignment miscalibration where it would click what's above your finger; the luggage system has a bug where if you're trying to type foreign phone number into the Japanese phone the rest of the system would stop responding altogether, etc)
The elevators are smelly of old cigarettes smell. The restaurants serve what might be considered high-end food 20yrs ago.
Generally not cost effective.

The room design is so stranga making us feel clostrophobic. Very small room and your view from the bed is the very ugly looking round cabinets. Doesn’t have a coffee maker in the room but they give you a kettle. The location though is convenient and a 2 minute walk to the Shinagawa station. The carpets in the building looks gross and dirty. It’s not worth it for the price.

The Shinagawa Prince is our usual choice when in Tokyo, given its location (convenient transportation from both Narita and Haneda airports, easy access to other cities by shinkansen or other stops in Tokyo), mid-range cost, and quality of the stay. We always enjoy a nice clean room and support from very helpful and friendly staff. I also like that everything you need, in a pinch, is available on-site or nearby - the Annex building, where we stayed, has a 7-Eleven, shops, entertainment venues, and food court. It is connected to the Main Tower, where we enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Luxe Dining Hapuna our first morning. There is a Kuroneko Yamato shipping service in the main tower if you want to forward luggage to your next destination, as well as a coin-operated laundry facility, useful for longer stays. Of course, these things are widely available throughout Tokyo, but at the end of a long day, returning to the hotel in Shinagawa is always a great relief.

Easy access to train station shops and restaurants. Enjoyed the aqua park next door to the hotel. Washer and dryer did an ok job. Very busy with a lot of travelers. The room was dated but big enough and clean for three people. There was a ste up into the bathroom area that surprised me especially since my husband has mobile issues and that was a bit risky for him. Overall a good stay and easy checkout.

The room had an awful smell md we asked to switch the room. They took us to the only room available and that room had same awful smell. Needless to say, we went back to the original room. I paid for the breakfast buffet for my family, but at 7:15 in the morning, it had a huge line out of the restaurant all the way to another side of the lobby. We had to catch Shinknsen, at 8:40ish so we checked out and left. I will NEVER come back to this hotel!

When we got to the hotel the check in was pure chaos. There were not enough rooms for many they booked and must of been around 100 people waiting in the lobby. When we got our room it was so small we couldn’t barely open our suitcase inside of it. The staff was nice but definitely over worked so you could feel the stress when you needed help. The room was clean overall but the room was very old and outdated and you needed to use the big light to turn on all the small lights which I found strange. We only stayed one night thank goodness because we were flying out the next day.

Pros - convenient location right next to station and several restaurants

Cons - the lobby furniture and carpet were completely filthy and dirty, like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. The guest bedroom and hallway outside had an overwhelming stench of old dirty carpet, with visible stains on the carpets throughout the property. Painfully long check-in process after a long day of travel.

What on the surface seems like it would be an elegant property is instead just a budget hotel sorely in need of renovation.

If you want to stay near Shinagawa Station, this is the place but be forewarned, there is a LOT of construction at the station. Also, there are three towers at the Prince complex and it can get confusing getting around. This hotel is big and therefore, very busy. The lobby reminded me of Grand Central Station particularly at checkout time.
We had a room with free breakfast and the breakfast buffet (Hapuna) was a mob scene. If you have ever been to Las Vegas during a major conventions, you get what I am talking about. Long line to get in, long lines for coffee and food (though the food was excellent). We stayed in the main tower.
This hotel is a factory so you get the benefit of a large hotel in Tokyo, but it can feel impersonal and overly busy. The room was small (normal by Tokyo standards) and on a high floor we had a nice view of Tokyo Tower. It was clean (two twin beds) and the bath was modern.
It was the last stay in a three week trip to Japan and this hotel was by far the most congested place we stayed. One other thing, I booked the Prince thinking I could get a direct airport bus to Narita, but they do not stop there. You have to take a taxi to the airport center to get a bus.
The hotel shopping is good and fairly priced. There is a 7-Eleven in the hotel that is hard to find.

All the rooms are clean. Staffs are very helpful. They have many Laundry machines that I was always able to use them. The only thing is that all japanese hotel Laundry dryers can only take a few clothes. If you fill them up, they will never dry.

I only wish they had some amenities available at the front desk area fr3e for you to take. They provide minimal in room like toothbrush set.

At first, it was confusing which tower my booking was in because it did not specify on my reservation. However, they are very great with customer service, checked me in promptly and guided me to the correct tower. The hotel itself is very nice, rooms are quite small but equipped with everything you need. They provide complimentary items such as toiletries. They also came and cleaned everyday and replaced the toiletries daily. There are a lot of restaurants around and a 7/11 and even a food hall with decent food. It is a 5 minute walk to the Shinagawa train station, which also has a lot of restaurants and cafes. Opted out of the breakfast so I’m not sure how well their food was. They also have the Yamato luggage delivery service on site which was so convenient. The only downside I would say is that the coin laundry is in the main tower and it took me about 10 minutes just to get there from the annex tower. But definitely recommend!

The room was clean and can notify if there was no need to clean. Staff was hospitable and tried their best to assist. English was not always very good. I didn’t have breakfast as part of my plan but found a City Bakery close by that served breakfast and had a wide variation and choices. Did not use hotel laundry.

A few points:
The hot water pot directions how to use was non-exists t and once heated, if left alone a bit, the water disappeared. Clock in the room the last 2 days was not giving correct time. Could not figure out how to turn on the tv. Button never turned it on. Did not call reception as was not much in the room to watch tv. Did try 2-3 times. Never figured it out or whether it was broken.

Location was excellent. I would stay again just for that. 20mins by train from Haneda and JR line is right there makes for convenient travel.
We made use of the Laundry facilities it was reasonable for hotel facilities and they had lots of machines.
We had a corner room on the main tower. Rooms were clean and relatively large for Japanese standard. We manage to find room for 1 large and 1 medium luggage.
The rooms are dated as per most reviews have stated. There are some stains in the hallway carpet. And I noticed a patch to fix damaged carpet in our room also. This does not bother us.
We opted out the breakfast. We just visited the 7-11 on the second floor for breakfast everyday.
Staff was helpful at check in and when I wanted to send an Amazon order to our room. They helped me filled out the delivery address. Pick up was also easy.
Overall I recommend the Shinagawa Prince hotel. Yes it is dated and need some renovations but if you are not picky about your room not being in the latest trendy style and just need a clean room and convenience this hotel is for you.

The rooms on the Annex tower do not have an air purifier and after staying at 4 other hotels having it, I was disappointed. The room was weirdly shaped but did accommodate us fine for the night. The breakfast buffet was pretty good. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The hotel has a good location and was a great stay overall. I would book again in the main tower next time.

Property is on a convenience location, train station and restaurants. It does have a lot amenities inside the hotel. The only upside down was that cleaning staff for the room was not the most efficient. Inside restaurants I DO NOT recommend, always find restaurants around the area even at the train station are good places to enjoy delicious meals.

This is a suitable hotel for a trip to Tokyo, especially if you are flying in or out of Haneda (although the Narita Express also stops here) or taking the Shinkansen at the nearby station. You can get around to most places in Tokyo fine via one direct line usually, the room is tiny but no smaller than other similarly priced hotels in this area or most of Tokyo. There are better areas to stay at in Tokyo that are even more central, but if you are staying in Shinagawa, then this hotel is one of the best there. I will note that the breakfast buffet area is huge, one of the largest I've seen, with so many people. This can make it annoying when waiting in line or trying to get a certain item or even good table space, despite there being many tables. I actually preferred the North annex part of this hotel complex in a previous visit (listed on its own as Hotel N Tower) as it has its own smaller breakfast area, although the breakfast there is far simpler (business style breakfast) than the many options in the breakfast in the main hotel.

The location of the hotel directly across Shinagawa Station was really great. The staff were also very cordial and helpful. Our room however was small, and it smelled of smoke. The carpet has cigarette burns in it and some of the shower tiles were cracked. They need to replace the carpet and maintain the room a little better.
