We love staying at Mitsui Garden Gotanda. Neighborhood is very convenient. Only wish is for more laundry facilities. Some guests with bad behavior did not unload promptly.

Cool hotel with more spacious rooms and well organized. We chose it for proximity to Haneda and its public baths.

It was a solid choice but th bath is pretty straightforward and not as hot as could be. Breakfast buffet is good but not amazing. Likely a good value for convenience certainly but not amazing.

Only annoying thing. We were 60 mins early for the 3pm check in. Seems now policy to give out rooms only for an extra fee. Staff clearly frustrated by the push backs from customers. Nobody was wasting money here

We booked 2 rooms for our family of 5. One room stank of moth balls. The staff came to check and offered to move us out of that room but onto another floor away from the rest of our family and kids. We received no apology for the state of the room, which was already expensive. Awful.

There are also no amenities in the room (no tea, coffee) and the beds and pillows are quite uncomfortable.

This might be the best value in all of Tokyo. Gotanda is so convenient to other areas (it's a quick hop to Shibuya and Shinjuku) while also having its own charms and food options (tip: there are a couple really good standing sushi spots nearby and one of the best tonkatsus I've ever had). It's also way less intense than those other areas and I appreciated that every evening when I'd come home exhausted and ready to relax. I appreciated that there is a grocery store one block over where I could find fresh veggies and a waterfront nearby for early morning strolls (it was even illuminated at night for the holiday season).

As for the property itself: your usual small-ish room, nice pajamas provided though. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Reception is on the 15th floor and there are small areas both indoors and outdoors to hangout but sadly no real lounge to hangout and meet other travelers. The public bath on the rooftop is just spectacular and feels pretty unusual, at least I haven't come across another property that has one at this price. In a way the whole experience had a sense of quiet luxury -- not at the scale of the Park Hyatt and the standard rooms are small but for the money I don't think you can do much better in Tokyo.

I really enjoyed my stay. Great location just a few minutes walk to Gotanda station and the JR Yamanote line. Room was super clean, comfortable and quiet. Took advantage of the public bath to wind down at the end of the day - it was surprisingly always empty.

My friend and I shared a twin room, which had plenty of space for 2 check-in size luggage and 2 carry-ons. Staff were really helpful to inform us about luggage delivery services to the airport. Housekeeping is optional according to the magnets you can stick outside your door. My friend got her period overnight and they changed all her bedding and provided new roomwear as well. The elevators can be slow at times but overall a very comfortable stay :)

We love this hotel and stay here whenever we are in Tokyo. The Gotanda station is just a couple blocks away. We use the Ikegami line to go to my aunt’s house and the JR line to meet friends/cousins for shopping and dining. There’s a convenient store and a great Italian restaurant on the firs floor, and a 7-11 just down the street. There are lots of dining and shopping nearby. The restaurant on the first floor serves an awesome buffet breakfast. The Japanese style spa/bath on the top floor is awesome but make sure you know all the rules before you go in. The coin laundry is ok. It’s a washer/dryer combo and it did not dry well. The 15th floor lobby has an awesome balcony/sitting area. I love getting a cup of coffee and doing my quiet time here every morning. We love this place!

This hotel was okay, not the best or worst I’ve been in. The bathrooms are very dated and are in desperate need up upkeep. Our shower curtain (yes, a shower curtain in a “luxury” hotel) was stained and dirty, the caulking around the sink was cracked and in need of replacing, and the towels are extremely thin and they only provide one per person (and one hand towel). If you want amenities they are on the 15th floor in the lobby, and while I recognize the hotel is attempting to be eco-friendly, it seems more like they’re just trying to discourage you from using them.

The housekeeping staff are excellent and do their best to keep the rooms clean and refreshed every day.

The location of the hotel is decent, right next to Gotanda station and it has a Lawson attached which is very convenient. There’s also a 711 within close proximity and a grocery store less than a 5 minute walk.

The rooms are small which is par for the course in Japan, but the beds are extremely firm and the pillows provided are flat and thin. Overall I feel there are better hotels in this price range, especially when you consider they boast about their lobby and private bath, and not the accommodations.

good location and super clean. the lobby is on the 15th floor with nice view and complimentary coffee and welcome drinks. the spa (public bath) on the 16th floor has both indoor and outdoor tub. if you go outdoor, you can see stars on the sky at night. it was a rainy day, so very nice cold breeze and perfect day for outdoor bath. my room was on the 15th floor, it has a great city view. best quality for the price.

Amazing staff and wonderful hotel! I cannot say enough about all the help we received from the staff. We had a bicycle in a large box to deal with, luggage and a box to ship to different locations, and other logistical problems which they managed in a friendly and efficient manner. The hotel is beautiful, clean and comfortable. There is an onsen on the top floor. The location is a short walk to the Gotanda train station on the JR Yamanote line, so convenient to get everywhere in Tokyo. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The breakfast buffet has both western and Japanese food available. We look forward to returning before we fly home. Highly recommended!

Loved the location of the hotel with it only being a few minutes walk to the Gotanda station on the Yamanote line which makes access to other parts of Tokyo very easy and convenient. There are a ton of eating options nearby and several convenience stores as well. The highlight was a cafe right next to the hotel called \"Saison Baker & Coffee\" and I highly recommend it as a breakfast option. The great thing about it is that it opens at 7am, which you'll realize in Tokyo, a lot of other cafe's don't open till 9am or later.

The hotel itself is really nice. Like most Japanese hotels, the service is immaculate. I found the hotel room to be pretty much as described on Expedia. It was very clean.

Maybe my only complaint is that the elevators can sometimes take a little bit longer to get to your floor.

This is my first trip to Tokyo from Australia. I booked three beds room with my daughter and my mum for staying 5 nights. We all had a very good rest in such a clean room. Room service is excellent and all the facilities in the hotel is great too. Breakfast is also freshly cooked with many options for eastern and western people. We will definitely be back here again next time!

(-) Not quite a 4-star hotel. Reception is at level 15 and guests need to collect toiletries on their own. One of the staff at the reception was rather rude by Japanese standard.
On the whole, I will not stay here when I visit Tokyo again.

More pricey but an extremely nice property. Tons of amenities including onsen, coin laundry, restaurant, convenience store downstairs, etc. Room came with nice pajamas and toiletries. Staff is very friendly and good at speaking English and helped with Yamato slips. Close to lots of dining options and shops, plus a five minute walk from gotanda station. Would definitely recommend this place to others if you can splurge.

Love that this hotel is few blocks from the train statiom. 3 stops and you’re in Shibuya. The room is kinda tight but the long table in the room was nice. Didnt like the toilet.It was hard to flush and the bidet took too many press bec it can work. The lobby is located on the 15th floor. Got kinda lost wntering the building. There was a construction going on in the lobby. Only stayed a night but it was convenient.

It is conveniently located, just next to JR station. I wish the hotel can give out instruction the fastest way to arrive hotel by JR, it will save much of my efforts by walking with luggage under 34 degree hot day. We followed google map to the hotel and it took like over 10 min, while there is a faster way which only take 5 min.

Decent hotel in a great location - close to the Yamanote line subway station so access to Shibuya Shinjuku and Nihonbashi is easy. Room is on the small side but typical of Tokyo’s hotels. Wish there is a bit more amenities like a gym though.

This hotel where we spent two weeks was a perfect center of operations. It is conveniently located next to great shopping (the super market can become your restaurant and you can save if you want to breakfast and lunch in your room).
The room was spacious and well equipped, great for a long term stay.
