Perfect Family Stay at Hotel Gajoen Tokyo
Hotel Gajoen Tokyo was a 10/10 gem for our 9 day stay. The service was stellar—staff were warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. The concierge team shone, arranging private drivers from Haneda Airport, to Tokyo Disneyland, and to Yokohama’s cruise terminal. We gave the wrong Disney pickup time, but they fixed it instantly, no hassle. Our suite was spotless, with a cozy Japanese vibe and a steam sauna we all loved. Breakfast was a hit: my daughter devoured the eggs and rice, while we savored the Japanese set—fresh fish, miso, and perfect rice. The hotel’s Showa-era art and garden added magic. Cleanliness was flawless, and the staff’s care, from quick housekeeping to thoughtful touches, made it special. It’s a place where luxury meets heart, perfect for families. We can’t wait to return!

It is next to the Meguro train station which makes it very easy to travel to Shibuya, Shinjuku, etc. The hotel is right next to the Meguro river with cherry blossom trees throughout the location. Stunning interiors at this hotel and first class service. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful in all situations. The Hundred steps Exhibition is a must see. Easy access to Meguro station via the adjoining Arcot tower and central Tokyo Shibuya, Shinjuku etc are only a few stops away on the Yamonote line. Shinagawa station is a few stops the other way giving easy access to Shinkansen and Narita express etc. Enjoyed the executive lounge. Perfect stay for us, we loved the hotel and the location and would definitely stay here again.

Overall lovely stay at Gajoen. Property has remarkable art and aesthetic throughout. Room had nice view of the garden. Kid loved feeding the koi fish in the winding river in the hotel. Nice waterfall and garden outside a respite from the Tokyo urban experience. We liked the quiet location of Gajoen in Meguro. We were able to easily access the tourist sites throughout Tokyo and the walkable Meguro restaurants nearby. Recommend.

Large rooms, comfortable beds, short walk to Meguro station (subway and Yamanote line), beautiful restored historical artwork throughout the property (take the art tour during your stay), and fantastic onsite dining. Lots of traditional Japanese culture in luxurious settings, the waterfall, the small water canal with Koi, the large suite room, the Japanese Kaiseki restaurant in a traditional building within the building, the Hundred Steps museum, the relief wall panels of Heian era scenes, a sumptuous buffet breakfast, Omotenashi service etc all lovely.

A most wonderful 4 night stay at this very, very special hotel. Huge public areas, but only 60 rooms. Staff so friendly, obliging and super efficient. Our large room was kept spotless and provided absolutely everything we could possibly need. A fantastic marble bathroom with shower room, deep spa bath and even a self contained steam room! Highlight of our stay was a tour (only available to hotel guests) of the property’s very extensive facilities for traditional Japanese weddings. We visited amazing rooms full of beautiful paintings and wood carved scenes depicting old Japan. Also lots of other art and sculpture throughout the property - plus lovely indoor gardens and waterways stocked with beautiful Carp. Saying goodbye to this incredible hotel brought tears to my wife’s eyes.
Location in Meguro is excellent, with Meguro station on the Yamanato Line (which encircles Tokyo) only 10 minutes walk up escalators and along a quiet side street.

Wow. This was possibly the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. our room was large, the bed was insanely big, the steam sauna and jacuzzi bathtub were phenomenal. The breakfast and restaurant were top notch. And the hotel itself is so picturesque that you can immediately realize why everyone was getting married in it. The coi pond and indoor waterfall were over the top decadence. I wish we stayed here longer. It's not cheap but you're paying for the best of the best. Anything we wanted, we asked for it and we got it. Kudos to the staff. And the meguro neighborhood was one of our favorites.

I took so many photos of the hotel and bathrooms, it was so silly, but I was in awe of how lovely everything was. We also ate at their steak restaurant and enjoyed it, definitely recommend this hotel. We walked quite a bit in the morning, and this location is easy to get to the Art Museum, several shrines and more.

This was my third trip to Tokyo and I was traveling with my family. We have stayed at many nice hotels but this one was very different. The quality and attention to details was remarkable. A truly beautiful and elegant hotel stay
The Gajoen is a beautiful and luxurious hotel that is also perfect for familes. Our family of 4 stayed in a spacious suite that was Japanese and western style and had the best time. This hotel is a real treat with amazing art, antiquities, gardens and service that is the royal treatment. The Meguro neigborhood and station are only minutes away and have great shops and restaurants. If you want a quieter more luxuroius getwaway for your family in Tokyo this is the place.

Hotel Gajoen is wonderful, hands down. Very japanese with wonderful gardens (including waterfall) and art. The rooms are very spacious, the beds out of this world comfortable and the bath will leave you speechless It includes a whirlpool with gold fixtures a 50 sq ft shower and a 40 sq ft wet sauna! We absolutely loved the place. The staff goes out of their way to help. I have stayed at hotels around the world and this is the nicest by far. Go there! We will be going back.

This hotel is by far the best I have stayed in across the globe, the traditional setting is truly remarkable. Just walking through the foyer is breathtaking.
The rooms are very lovely too, very clean, good in size and the bathroom was definitely the best part.
The hotel grounds, as mentioned are breathtaking, although we did not eat in any of the 5 restaurants they have to offer we did enjoy a slightly expensive but extremely delightful Royal Milk Tea in the Pandora.

Everything about this hotel is amazing, from customer service to hotel decor. Booked a 2-bedroom suite and it was nice and spacious. Location is also ideal to Meguro subway/train station and various key stations such as Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku, etc.

Lovely hotel in a great location
Stayed here as a family and this was our first trip to Japan. Hotel is in a great location close to Meguro station, and has a river alongside with lots of Cherry trees which were in blossom whilst we were there. We had upgraded to a suite as there are four of us and this was lovely with 4 double beds, loads of storage, a main bathroom and a separate toilet too. In the package we had, we got breakfast included (and this was well worth it), and car parking too which was very useful to us as we hired a car to drive to the various places we wanted to visit.
The hotel is attractive - very modern externally but a really nice traditional Japanese theme inside with very friendly staff, who were particularly helpful with English spoken by most. This made our stay much easier as we knew very little Japanese. The lobby area in particular is very attractive with water features containing fish, and a garden area, popular with wedding photographers (there were a few weddings thorough the week we were there). Variety of restaurants to choose from within the hotel, or other places nearby easily walkable.

A high-end hotel mostly for weddings. Very beautiful designs, a few waterfalls and small garden. The rooms themselves look a little old (from the 80s?) but are huge (80 square meters?). The jet bath and steam sauna was nice. The design was kind of a \"flashy\" old-fashioned Japanese. Not a subtle Zen look, but a very colorful design (slightly Chinese?) that probably appeals to Westerners who like Ukioye design and Hokusai, etc.
